Where to Eat the Best Spicy Fried Chicken in Dallas-Fort Worth - Eater Dallas

"Another spot for halal, dairy-free and peanut-free spicy fried chicken, Ricky’s in Richardson has baskets of crinkle cuts, tenders and sandwiches alongside their trademark special sauce. Google
First time tries at Ricky's. Best fried chicken wings in Texas for sure. The staff is very kind and service is super quick. We have 35 people who ordered before us and not a single person mind to wait for 20 minutes. Place was super crowded so there's not a place to sit down to eat. Loved this place. The chicken is so good, and the fries are super crispy with perfection.

Google
Ricky’s Hot Chicken never disappoints! I had their fried chicken sandwich and it was absolutely incredible — crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and bursting with bold southern flavor. The spice level was just right and had me hooked. I loved it so much, I ended up ordering a second one! My friend and I drove all the way from Austin to Dallas just to eat here again after a long time — that’s how much we missed it. Totally worth the drive. I’ve added photos of the menu and my order — if you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Ricky’s, please open a location in Austin!

I recently decided to give this restaurant a chance, and I didn't regret it. I tried the two options, low spicy and spicy, and I liked them both. As someone who cares about hygiene, it would be nice if they were a little more attentive to cleanliness. Overall, the food tasted good, the staff was polite and I was satisfied.

I was shopping in the area and I decided to give Ricky's a go on a whim. First impressions were positive, a large line at 4 P.M., a team freshly frying chicken, and a great buzz in the air. Ricky was at the register and helped me decide my order (3 tenders, hot spiciness). There's not a lot of seating inside, so it's an intimate fit in there, but I managed to get a chair over by the trash can. Once I got the tenders, they were a letdown. The breading was falling off in some parts, the chicken was dry and wasn't particularly hot. Upon telling the staff this and seeing if I could get something else, they immediately got me a fresh order of dark meat and it was a night and day difference. The chicken quarter was fresh out of the fryer and steaming once I bit into it. There was plenty of juice and the chicken skin had a phenomenal crunch to it. Overall, the redo was delicious with great flavor and spice. The fries were also really solid, as they had a great texture and the seasoning mix from the chicken. The spiciness level was just right, as hot is about the level of a habanero, so I'd recommend getting some ranch or comeback sauce to cool down your mouth if you need it. The level of service provided by the staff turned an otherwise disappointing visit into a positive memorable experience. I'm hoping that the tenders were a fluke, as I'd like to give them another shot again, but the chicken quarter is simply divine. Definitely worth the hype if you're in the area.

Google
Chicken tenders was ok but for me to wait at least 20 mins or more and served a old and hard waffle is crazy too me. first time customer and this how yall want to serve food ? a waffle should be fresh and soft not hard and old feeling first time here and don’t know if I will be back

Google
SO FIRE. Juicy, JUMBO, crispy, so good! It’s a lowkey spot and definitely needs some floor cleaning. Same quality as Dave’s hot chicken but cheaper.

Google
Ricky’s Hot Chicken is a solid alternative to Dave’s Nashville, and I actually like it better. They’ve got good mac & cheese, good fries, good chicken—really, they’ve got good everything. And the fact that it's Halal? That’s a big win for me. I prefer the Plano location over any other; it has way more seating and just feels more accommodating overall. But I have to say, the original location has some real drawbacks. The hours are ridiculous—you never know when they’ll be open. Sometimes they’re closed when they should be open, which makes it hard to plan when to eat there. Plus, the staff can be a bit moody, which doesn’t help the experience. Overall, it’s a decent chicken spot, but the weird hours and service issues bring it down a bit.

Google
Got 6 whole wings hot flavor and it’s hot 🥵 and crunchy and crispy. They made it fresh to order. It’s a small place but fast service and the staff was all guys. You can see them add the spicy seasoning to each piece of chicken.

Yelp
Everything about this place is great! When you walk in there is a small eating area (looks like you mainly pick up for takeout) and a full line of employees making fresh chicken. My husband and I ordered the HOT chicken (Half chicken and I got the tenders). The size on these meals were enough for two people. Let me stay the HOT is HOTTTT and I forgot my tums, but it was so good. The chicken tenders and half chicken were fried just right, with the perfect crunch, the zesty fires amazing, and the cole slaw was just the right amount of vinegar to beat the heat. I already have plans to go back!

Yelp
BOMBBBBB! Best chicken I have had in DFW period. There is a line usually, but they are organized and they get you your fresh chicken in a timely manner. I literally have no complaints. This is now in rotation for sure.

Yelp
OMG this place was amazing! Where do I even start about the food? The chicken has the best consistency all around. The crunch is not too powerful but not too soft. The absolute KING of crunch. The actual chicken is SO GOOD too!! And oh man, the sauce is just too good. The fries were on the average side of things but I didn't expect that they were great. And last but the HEAT!!! I know someone who loves heat. Like REALLY loves heat. Ghost Pepper type heat. He only tried the X-Hot and started having the hiccups. Do NOT under any circumstances try the A-Bomb. Unless you don't like breathing. The service is AMAZING with our chicken being out within less than 3 minutes. And the outside does not look spectacular and so does the inside but has a unique ambiance that I have not experienced. Chicken: 9.8/10 Service: 9.9/10 Ambiance: 9.3/10 Overall:

Yelp
I came here for the ducks only, jk. I had the xL Hot & man I was sweatin. The fries were delicious as well. Small location but they have a great system which keeps a constant flow inside. Great spot and great food

Yelp
I was introduced to this spot by my son while he was at UTD. Now that he is out, we have to drive up from Waxahachie. And we do. This is the GOAT of chicken!! I have gotten the HOT tenders several times and I can tell you that spice-wise I was sweating and an one point tearing up... but I didn't stop because OMG CHICKEN!! SO crisp... SO tender... SO spicy.... absolute heaven and the fries.... nomz. I do think next time I will drop to MEDIUM (which is supposed to be "jalapeno" level) because I had to stop after 3 of my five tenders at HOT level. The staff there is FANTASTIC, fun, practiced and great at what they do. The restaurant is small with a couple of tables and a window bar, but Alamo Drafthouse has tables a couple of doors down or there is your car :) RICKY'S baby, they won't do you wrong. and get the RANCH dip, it is greatness!!

Yelp
I don't have any pics because the bird nests we got were so good the food was gone before I had a chance. Plenty of chicken and fries and the comeback sauce just brings it all together. Oh and the vinegar coleslaw and pickle add just the right taste. Service was friendly and they were super busy. Place smelled amazing. If you were not hungry before entering you will be. Enjoy!!!

Yelp
Whenever I'm looking for a chicken fix, this is where I go; hands down the best hot chicken in town! The service here is always great. Despite the long lines, they get you in and out quick. I've tried almost everything on the menu, but my go-to are the wings... it's just so good! It's something about the seasoning that gets you hooked. BEWARE: their spicy levels are serious business. I've had the mild, medium, and hot and that's as far as I'm willing to go without sacrificing enjoyment from every bite.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for Nashville HOT, this is the place to get it! Super friendly staff, simple menus, quick process, AMAZING FOOD!! It's a small place so don't expect to be wowed here. There is a big and clear menu with all the options and a Spice Meter as well. They have different varieties of chicken meat (tender, legs, thighs etc..), sides, and heat levels. Take your pick, order at counter, and wait till they call your name (it took about 10mins) We got the chicken n waffles which is available on weekends only- so hearty, so crispy, so juicy, and oh boy did it hit the spot (heat level HOT) And we got an order of the tender (XHot - ghost scorpion heat ) the server gave us a fair warning ‼ when we got this one! For the sides we got the Fireballs (cheese curds), Shake Fries (which were crunchy, with the perfect spice flavors) and the comeback sauce! Overall the food was super delicious and pretty much perfect!!! If you're looking for that kick in the a** - this is a must try!

Yelp
This place always serves hot fresh food! & I do mean Hot Chicken! Not just spicy, but freshly made to order... They have a greet variety of items, which makes ordering easy. My kiddo enjoys their tenders, wife loves their legs & thigh, and I am a big fan of their Bird's Nest! My girls can only handle mild & I'm barely able to enjoy medium! I tried hot once, and it was just too much spice to enjoy comfortably. At least for me, So do yourself a favor and make sure you know what spice level you're into before ordering it.

Yelp
Okay, this review is long overdue. Went to Ricky's for the first time after being hyped for so long. True to self, I thought it's just gonna be an overhyped spot, but after experiencing Ricky's first hand, I gotta say the hype is real. Let's get some of the complaints out of the way, starting with their business hours. They're open for a bit during lunch time and then again for dinner. When I say a bit, it's literally only a few hours, so if you want to get your chicken dinner, you better get there fast (by 7 pm). Speaking of hours, they do run out of certain things, come early, so you can get what you want. Last is their location, specifically the Richardson one. There's practically no seating, so just be prepared to eat in your car or take it to go. They will put your food in a to go container anyway. So with all those complaints, is it worth it? In my opinion, it's a resounding hell yes!! I visited Ricky's 3-4 times in a week; something I don't do very often. I wanted to make sure that it's not just a fluke before writing a review. I tried both the bird's nest and the quarter bird. Both were amazing!! The tenders are so juicy and flavorful even without the sauce. The combination of slaw and fries and sauce made it the perfect meal. As for the quarter bird, the bone-in pieces are even better. Ricky's doesn't just try to hide behind its spiciness like most hot chicken establishments do; they also seasoned their chicken so well that they can stand on their own!! Honestly, there's not much else I can say when it comes to good fried chicken, and Ricky's definitely has one of the best hot chicken. Speaking of spicy, fair warning that their hot chicken is HOT, so please start off with medium even if you're an avid hot chicken fan. My friend, who has a very high spice tolerance, ordered half hot and half extra hot or something, and he was bawling all the way (had to stop mid way and continue his meal because the spice kicked his ass). Luckily he didn't throw up, especially not in the sink. Ricky's staff prob has seen their fair share of people soiling the sink that they put up the sign (pictured) in the bathroom. Two other aspects I love about Ricky's are their prompt service and value. You order at the counter and wait till they call your name. You can have your meal there if there's space, but the tables were full every time I went there. Your meal also comes with fries and drinks, so there's no need to order separate, which makes it a perfect spot for me to frequent lol All in all, I can't say enough good things about Ricky's despite the minor complaints. I do hope they stay humble and continue to maintain their quality. And for us, dear patrons, the least we can do is to NOT throw up in the sink please!

Yelp
Ricky's Hot Chicken is one of those places I was super excited to try since seeing it on one of Yelp's top lists. Came in on a Monday for lunch and it was absolutely packed. The staff was super friendly and patient, explaining how everything worked and the popular parts of the menu. What we got: Quarter leg dark set: Fried chicken was good, but it was a little bit on the dryer side. Fries were crinkle cut, freshly fried, crispy and perfectly seasoned Chicken Sandwich spicy: This was also bursting with flavor and the slaw complemented the saucey-ness nicely You can tell that they turn over a lot of chicken because there is a lot that is constantly being fried and put onto the shelf to get orders out quickly. Overall, a solid spot if you're craving some hot chicken

Yelp
I think this place must be closed. Or at least the yelp directions are incorrect because I drove all around that parking lot looking for the Richardson location off Central between ABocas and party city and it wasn't there.

Yelp
It was pretty busy when I went, my first time, the dude who took my order was very helpful. My order was made very fast. I took it to go. As for the food: I got the Hot tenders, and before I went I was told they were hella spicy, I usually can take spice. It was soooo spicy and amazing!! Their special sauce tasted similar to Cane's sauce but sweeter it was def an 11/10. The place looked pretty cute inside, good atmosphere. Will def go back.
google avatar

Brashay C.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly but I specifically requested my wings to be well done. Since they weren't busy during the time I visited, they gave me food that was sitting under a hot lamp. I also became nauseous after eating & the banana pudding is mid. Very dissapointed.

Yelp
Great spot and the food is always delicious. All their chicken are peanut and dairy free. I've tried The Sando, Bird's Nest, and the Chicken Nugget Flight so far and everything has been super tasty every time I've gone. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Multiple family members recommended Ricky's Hot Chicken in Frisco, and I'm glad they did. We decided to go for the Chicken Sando and Quarter Bird meals. Both were delicious with perfectly fried chicken, crispy fries, and a drink to chug down all that salty goodness. One thing that stuck out to me, though, were the spice levels. I ordered a Medium heat level for my chicken sandwich - not because I wanted to but because I was warned that the Hot level would be too much to handle. The sucky thing was, the medium spice was a big ol' nothing-burger. Almost no spice, just a light dusting, a whisper of heat, like the La Croix of spice. When I talked to my family members about the Hot spice level, they said it was way, way spicier and that it messed them up. I would've tried the Hot but I was also on vacation and didn't want to make a mess in a lodging that was not my own so I shied away from it. If you're going to stop by Ricky's, just FYI, the medium to hot scale goes from like Green Bell Pepper to Habanero. I think the next set of spice levels made more sense at least because they were made using Ghost, Scorpion, and Reaper peppers. If you're feeling adventurous, try out a nugget flight to get a taste for all the spice. The fries and special sauce at Ricky's were great. The fries were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and their special sauce added a nice tangy element to the meal, complementing the chicken and fries well. Easy recommendation. If you like spicy, I'm sure you can handle the Hot and up spice levels.

Yelp
Before you come for me and say this place is 5 star hear me out. Chicken good, fries good, sauce good, spice good but the coleslaw and banana pudding didn't hit for me. The coleslaw, on its own, almost tasted like it was on the verge of going bad but when you ate it all together it didn't. The banana pudding isn't the best banana pudding I've had, it wasn't bad but it wasn't something I'd get from here again. Prices here are pretty reasonable for hot chicken. Service was good. I could tell they needed us to leave at 2 pm, which I 100% get because that's closing time so I really can't get upset about it. Next time I definitely will try to come earlier to get freshly made chicken and have more time to eat, it's just a little hard when you're from out of town and the hours are odd. I loved the graffiti art inside. I will still comeback because this was really close to Nashville hot chicken and I want want to try the sando.

Yelp
The food is amazing! Their setup is great and focused on making good food/serving in a timely manner. The inside is small but that's what I love about it. A lot of restaurants spend money/resources on a lot of dumb shit that doesn't directly improve your food/experience. All hands are on deck in the kitchen focusing on keeping things orderly. Despite long lines the wait time isn't long. The chicken is hot & juicy (not cold and dry) very flavorful. They serve crinkle cut fries that are super crunchy, which go great with their comeback sauce (sold separately for just 50¢). Mondays are customer appreciation day so there is a discount on all items. Closed Tuesday-Wednesday. I'm a big guy with a large appetite and let me just say I've never leave hungry. Don't miss out!

Ashley C.

Yelp
The food was hot with heat and spice...delicious! The line moves quickly but definitely worth the wait.
google avatar

Brannan M.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Their chicken is delicious, juicy, and ALWAYS on point! It will get a little crowded due to how popular they are, but the staff stays on top of keeping a good flow and getting people served. If you show up and there is a line, don't worry it will go fast. As for what to order, obviously the tenders will always be a go to. But, the bird's nest is next level delicious! Guarantee it will not be a disappointment.
google avatar

Cathy H.

Yelp
There was a line coming out the door and I knew it was going to be good. Best hot chicken I've had so far. The chicken is moist not dry. The level of spice was perfect (I got hot). Seating is extremely limited so we took ours home but seriously considered stopping at a park to eat it because it smelled so good and was going to take about 20 minutes to get home. I do wish it was in a bigger space and could accommodate more seating so we could have eaten it on the spot. That is the only negative but I'm definitely coming back!
google avatar

Porsche P.

Yelp
Inside is really small, so don't bet on dining in. Now, the lone makes more sense. Seats only about 20 ppl and that's pushing it.... food is actually delicious tho. I like spicy foods and the hot level made me sweat so I'm glad I didn't venture further lol. Birds nest was a large portion, full to-go box so I could've easily shared it. Gonna try it for leftovers and see if it holds up. Line moves fast, workers move quickly. Overall, definitely worth a try.
google avatar

Saahir J.

Yelp
I'm pretty new to hot chicken and have only had Dave's before but this was really good! I got the 3 jumbo tenders which came with bread, pickles, fries, and a drink. The whole thing cost $10 which I thought was a pretty solid price for what you get. The tenders were massive and super juicy. I got medium and it was SPICY. It was definitely hotter than I thought it would be for that spice level so just be cautious about the spice level you choose. The fries were "shaken" meaning they were covered in the spicy seasoning and tasted amazing. The comeback sauce was your standard hot chicken sauce but I'm not complaining. The only thing that I thought was alright was the bread. The inside of the restaurant is extremely busy and a little chaotic but they have a good system for ordering and waiting for your food. The service was good and efficient. Some quick tips: - The meals don't come with comeback sauce so you have to order for 50 cents a piece BUT you can substitute your drink for 2 sauces - You can ask for your fries extra shaken and they add more seasoning to them
google avatar

Melinda S.

Yelp
** KNOW BEFORE YOU GO ** This is a tiny spot! The inside dining area is very small, with just enough space to sit and wait for your order. When you step inside the door, there are usually two lines. One line is for ordering and the second line is for picking up your order. When you step in the doorway you have to ask people which line is for ordering. This location is definitely set up for To-Go orders. Oh my, yes, it's worth it, lol. With nearly 700 Yelp reviews about Ricky's Hot Chicken, there isn't much more to add about how delicious it is. We ordered a few sandwiches, a couple of nests, and the bomb to explore the range of heat. It's difficult to give advice on which heat to pick because everyone has a different opinion about what is considered spicy or hot. We live 15 minutes away and when we got home our food was still hot and fresh. I didn't see a recent Yelp review that mentioned their inside dining situation. I will take this opportunity to update you. There is a sign at their front door that says, "LINE STARTS HERE" It's there for a reason. There are approximately 3 small tables (4 chairs per table), and approximately 4 bar chairs along the window -- that's it!! It's very uncomfortable to sit and eat when there is a line of people waiting for their order in that same area. We tried, but there were a lot of butts along our table side. And if you are wondering .. there is no seating outside. The door constantly stays open, plus the triple-digit Texas heat inside a fry house, well you're ready to get your food and leave. This is not a dine-in type restaurant BUT Ricky's Hot Chicken is worth trying! We will certainly be back and better prepared.
google avatar

Yelp
Best hot chicken in the game! The spicier the better. Everything was so good. I always recommend this to all my friends.

Bernardo F.

Yelp
The chicken tenders are so damn good! The hot had me sweating at work but yet I couldn't stop eating them! I go here at least once a week. Toast and fries are also Service is always fast and great too.
google avatar

Susan N.

Yelp
There is nothing negative that I can say about Ricky's except probably the lines whenever I go in the evenings, but that just tells you how good it is! Ricky's chicken is moist, crispy, spicy and dangerously addicting. My go-to order is always their chicken sandwich in the 'hot' spice level which is NO JOKE. It's actually spicy with a nice kick and I'm saying that as someone who lovesss spicy food. I always recommend this spot to all my friends who come in from out of town or to those who eat halal!
google avatar

Corey Z.

Yelp
My favorite hot chicken place. I usually get the Sando hot to go. Fresh ingredients with just the right amount of spicy. Great place to grab lunch to go for those who work in the area. Also has a Halal certification stamp for those whose diets require it.

Joseph W.

Yelp
This was my wife and I's second time having Ricky's. Our first time was in 2020. We waited 2 years before having it again because of the long wait from the first time. We won't wait again. Ricky's is easily the best hot chicken in DFW. It's certainly the best I've ever had. But what really impressed me is the value. Hyped up food spots are notoriously overpriced and lunch just about anywhere costs $12 before you even get a drink not Ricky's. My wing plate as $11. That came with fries (which are perfectly crispy and crinkly) and a drink. And the drink is not optional, which I prefer to upsell of a drink or water or the rinky-dink water cup versus legitimate drink cup. Be forewarned: it does get busy and the line can go out the door. But they're much more efficient than our first visit and didn't had everything in stock. Also, please reconsider doing atomic hot. My wife is from China and can eat the spiciest food of anyone I know. She got the atomic tenders the first time we came. Although she ate them just fine and thoroughly enjoyed the flavor, she was bedridden and in pain the rest of the weekend. Was it worth it? She got the hot level the second time.

Victor P.

Yelp
This place beats Dave's hot chicken by miles!!! Great place to go eat and the portions are worth it.
google avatar

Brianna Z.

Yelp
LOVED THE FOOD HERE. My mouth was burning by the end of it (medium heat level), but it was the best kind of pain. The heat levels here are no joke, though, so I would be very cautious when deciding what to get. I almost stopped halfway through because it was just too much. My friend got the birds nest, and the heat was worse for her because the spice was spread onto the fries as well. Outside of spice, the chicken was well cooked and juicy. They are not stingy with their meat either. There were a lot of workers when I came, so the service was super quick as well. It's probably best to find somewhere else to sit though, since they barely have inside seating. Highly recommend!

Samuel Jethro R.

Yelp
That was Fire one of the best burgers I've ever had please go try it out. Try medium spice

Trung N.

Yelp
I love this place! Decided to check it out because words have been going around that it is a must-try. The place was packed on a Saturday lunch when I went. There was a sign outside saying "line starts here", which means it could have been even more crowded. With that said, the food quality was in no way jeopardized by the number of customers. We had the Bird's Nest which is a big plate of chopped chicken tenders mixed with slaws and sat on a bed of fries. Granted we had a light breakfast earlier in the day, but my sister and I could barely finish our shared plate. Now, this is not the crunchiest and most tender chicken I ever had. However, I just loved how fun and indulgent the Bird Nest was. Everything from the chicken sauce to the slaws to the fries were just rich and packed with flavors. Also, for $12, the portion was definitely worth the price. Their most popular item is The Sando, which I'll definitely come back to try.
google avatar

Semhar M.

Yelp
Just returned to Ricky's after a couple of months and man I just need to shout out how consistently good it is!! This time around I got the mild flavored tenders because the medium spice level was just too much for me. The tenders and fries were seasoned to perfection. It's the best hot chicken spot in DFW in my opinion.
google avatar

Paulina M.

Yelp
This was my first but definitely not my last time I will dine at Ricky's Hot Chicken. I had read the reviews and they did not steer me wrong. The "Bird's Nest" does not look like a Michelin star meal. However, the flavors deliver and it will be a place in my regular rotation. When you are not looking for pretentious food... just really good food... flavorful and excellently executed, I would suggest you give this place a try.

Robert A.

Yelp
Excellent food if you like hot chicken. We wanted to try something that is not a chain restaurant and this was perfect. Quick and pleasant staff

Yelp
Ricky's Hot Chicken has the juiciest hot chicken in town coupled with the best customer service. You're greeted by hip hop, cheerful employees and the smell of amazing fried food. Unlike many restaurants taking on the Nashville trend, Ricky's has mastered their balance of spices and doesn't simply overwhelm you with salt and flat flavors. Once you figure out their schedule, it's a great place to grab food and go or chill at an indoor or outdoor table to enjoy your food at its peak!

Yelp
Can anyone take a look at my order and receipt and conclude how many comeback sauce (CBS) I brought/ selected? I intended to get 10 and the way the order was set up and when I double checked my order before paying I made sure it's 10 CBS. Went to pick up order and only got 8 CBS. I have social anxiety so I usually don't bother, but I'm a "saucy" person and likes to have enough sauces. Plucked up courage to inquire and was told it comes with 8. Person turned away then I was like but I double checked to order 10. So I pulled up my receipt and ask that person again. He said "idk why it said 4 there, but the combo doesn't come with sauce, you subbed the drink for 2 and brought 6 so that's 8." And counted 8 for me, all in a manner that made me felt belittle, it may be bc I'm sensitive, or so I'm aware so maybe that's on me to feel that way. But I insisted with him and show my receipt again, here it said 6 and down here it said 4 so it should be 10. Then, the pretty tall Asian lady by the counter came by asking what's going on. I showed her my receipt and explain and she immediately went "ohh," and went to grab 2 more. Another guy, maybe manager/owner, came up right as she was coming back. I explained once again, he was firm it's 8 despite my receipt. Then finally, I conceded and I politely told him with a smile that they should fix the online order system then, bc it's very confusing. He didn't say anything and look back at me with a deadpanned face. And so I left. Again, 2 CBS is literally $1, literally. Compared to my order of $61. I want to make it clear it's not about the money to me. But as a business owner or a person running a business, where's your principle sir? I did not make a scene and was polite in my inquiry and I'm sure you all remember how shaky my hand was as I was trying stand up for myself showing you 3 my receipt. You didn't have to give me the 2 "free" CBS but you could've utter a simple "sorry the system glitched" or something even if you didn't mean it but that will at least acknowledge where I'm coming from and I'll go away in peace. But nope, that's too much effort. I've never done anything like posting something like this bc I believe if I have nothing nice to say then I shouldn't say anything at all. But the whole ordeal left me very indignant and no doubt they've gossips about me after I left. So I wanted to leave this review to further explain my side and to clear up that it's not about $1 to me but the way my inquiry was handled and that I wouldn't be the only person to conclude from the order and receipt that it's 10. I do want to thank the tall Asian lady for also seeing that it's 10. Thanks for being on my side. Hope you get a better job soon. If they couldn't spare $1 for a $61 order and/or spare to take accountability, doubt you're being treated fairly there. The food is good and better than other chains no doubt. I've been to this location many times since they first opened and had lined up several times when the line went past the Desi place. So I'm used to their stinginess with sauces. But this really tops it. Also, the environment in there seems so depressing despite the traffic and everyone in there look so miserable and no one can crack a smile on their face. I wouldn't miss going back. They think they're the only one? Arlington got one too.

Yelp
When you pull up you look and think this looks small and you are right, when you walk in it is small. The line to order is usually a few deep. The restaurant serves the food to go because they might have seating inside for 12 tops. The service is great. Quick. Friendly. Fast. They answer your questions are friendly but keep the line moving. I've been a few times. Wings, tenders and the chicken itself all really good. The sandwich meat was a little dry one time but hard to master when it's deep fried and white meat. Another time it was perfect. I tend to like the fried dark meat because it's juicer. I think Hot to the next level are best. The fries are really good as are the pickles. Unlike Canes, you don't need the sauce here because the chicken is actually seasoned and good but it definitely adds flavor to it. Ranch is good just a tad on the sweet side. My only issue is I wish they had Dr Pepper on tap. But they do have it in cans. Also the restaurant is Halal for those that need that! Overall a great hot chicken place and will continue to enjoy it.

Yelp
Food was really good. The service was really quick. It was small in there with not a lot of room to move around but otherwise good atmosphere. Only thing I didn't care for was the ketchup. Be careful the medium will sneak up on you.

Yelp
My coworker suggested this spot to me last summer, so I bookmarked it. I was determined to try this location before the end of the year. So, here's my story... My homie & myself made a date to link up for some lunch. I recommended this joint as she trust my "foodie phat-ness". Customer service: A+ Wait time: 3-5 max/A Price: A Food quality: A+++ Items purchased: (2) wing dinners... one Nashville style(hot) the other plain & (1) chicken sandwich dinner. Yelpers I here to tell yeah I am sooooo glad I no longer work in the Richardson/ Plano Area. Because my azz would be at this joint 3 days a week. Everything is fresh, hot, SEASONED and delicious. I will say the mac & cheese wasn't a favorite, but you can't have everything in life. I'd definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a solid chicken joint.

Yelp
Get the spicy one!!!! I got the non spicy qtr leg and medium spiced qtr leg. The non spicy one -- tasted like Popeyes, nothing special although still very good. I feel their medium spiced one is the unique one. It provided some kick and some sugar. Their fries could use some sprinkled salt. The tenders -- my kids said it was nothing special. Raising canes was better they said. But I got them the non spicy ones. I like how they are super quick in filling orders although there were so many customers. I'm amazed how they keep 6/7 employees in that tight space

Yelp
It was legit but oh mama, I almost couldn't finish my tenders and I got the 2nd to the last in heat level.

Yelp
So excited for their Arlington location because this place is a gem. Service is awesome, it's takeout so you are in and outta there quickly, and the food is phenomenal. We tried the medium and hot chicken sandwiches. The hot made me cry - but I'm ordering it again next time. The buns were so soft and perfect for the crispy chicken. The fries were wonderful and crinkly with a good seasoning on them and we got plenty comeback sauce to enjoy with our meals. I am really looking forward to coming back for some tenders and ranch. The location is small and there is minimal seating outdoors if you get lucky. We just ate in the car and didn't mind it at all. The lot has plenty space. There will probably always be a line but it moves rather quickly. They have a real efficient process here. For a first timer: it is awesome to note that they are halal! Love the inclusivity. Also, they have a nugget flight you can order off menu to test all the levels of heat if you're brave enough.

Yelp
So yummy! They are fast and the chicken is moist, spicy and delicious. Mild is truly mild. Medium isn't too spicy either and is low to me for a medium. I think wings are hotter than the tenders, but people were over blowing how hot it is.

Yelp
I've been to Rickey's so many times since they have been open and now I've been noticing recently the past few trips there serving sizes keep reducing and my orders are starting to come back wrong like less coleslaw then normal less fries then normal but the taste is always good

Yelp
Went for the hot chicken sandwich on the mild setting after watching a YouTube video. I was so excited to try this place. When I got here, there was a line and I was really excited The sandwich is white meat and it was pretty juicy for being just white meat. The spice level was perfect and that slaw on the sandwich slaps. It could've been a perfect sandwich for me but a lot of the chicken that I was eating was missing the breading so it didn't have that crunchy crust that I was hoping for

Yelp
We dropped in prior to our movie next door for a quick local bite and our expectations were beyond exceeded! I typically don't eat fried food so when I do indulge I want it to be worth it and the cashier added to that experience. He made great suggestions and nice enough to go over the entire menu for us (before lines started forming). We had a bit of a wait and orders that came after us were being fulfilled but they apologized for the wait. This chicken at the medium level spicy was top notch. Beyond perfect level of spiciness I hoped for. Enough to tickle your mouth but not so spicy that it's inedible and my stomach handled it well too. Paired with the dipping sauce made for excellent chicken and waffles. Packed room, but we had seats and devoured what we could and took the rest home. Richardson is a bit of a drive for us but we'll be back for this exact meal again. Order: Burger King Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Chicken and Waffles (Chicken Tenders)

Yelp
Warning: You won't like any other fried chicken after you eat here!! Extra hot = 6x Hot I am someone who loves spicy food but I think level HOT was perfect for me. There was a kick and I was still able to enjoy my meal. The worker was kind enough to let us try the XtraHOT on a fry before we ordered it. XtraHOT just caused pain on the tongue haha Went on 08/2021 and there was no seating. They used to have seating few months before this date but I think because of the Delta Variant they had to stop indoor seating. It's definitely super worth it! The size of the chicken is so big! Also FYI. when ordering the wings it says 3 piece but since it comes connected with the flat and drum you're technically getting 6 pieces.

Yelp
Food is good.... but no different than Dave's, and quite a bit more expensive??!! $27 for two sandwiches (very small breasts btw, (menu reads "and slaw", however, the slaw is on the sandwich), fries, and a drink. it is true, everything is now expensive, but I just didn't think it was that spectacular. It's kind of hard to go wrong with a hot chicken sandwich. But maybe it's just me . I do appreciate the proximity to my home. Dave's is not close.
