Would like the manager to reach out. Work in the neighborhood. I experience Has been amazing but lately I’ll place order for pick up. They give me a time for the order and when I show up the order is just being put in. And it’s something as simple as empanadas. Would love to personally speak to the manager as this does not fall on the employees it’s mainly the chef just sitting around and waiting to be told to do this work

Why I given this because honestly is the key I don't like people that is not honest I when there for first time I expecific explain exactly what i want and how I wanted if you can not do it said it and I live the guy who was in the kitchen was to gentlemen's he was taken the chicken out of the racks and I told him let me get that one because it look fresh and juicy, but the lady at the register she said we have to sale first the one on the counter that being out from over night she. Said it needs to be sale first but I told you can give it to someone else if you want but I want that one the one the man was removing from the racks he told her the lady want this one ,, not that one the one she wanted to give me it was already serving on plate to go was cold and very burnt they make believe they was given me the one I requested he put it on a to go plate and he put it on top of the one I didn't want and she pull it real fast inside the bag thinking that I didn't relies the move that just did ,it told her and they all look at me and the two men started laughing because of what she did first of all I was paying for it ,it wasn't free why not given me what I wanted or request, she doesn't have no customer skills that is the reson people business get slow and make no money because people with no morals and respect why make it so difficult and thinking that I was stupid and not knowing what she just did i don't understand why she refused to give me what I ask also she have a attitude and I believe she needs to go home and get another job i will never give my money to that place and I also will tell friend and relatives not to go there poorly nasty business status And also she put soooo much dressing in the salad that was real saggy all watery horrible real horrible that food wasn't for me some send me to buy it it was pretty embarrassing..

This is the second time I ordered from Rico’s and the rice was not fully cooked. The avocado salad is good but it is too wet with too much dressing. Also, the prices have gone way too high.

Food was good but not the best Spanish spot that I've been to. To stones are not to my liking and the sweet plantains aren't good. I'm also Dominican so I have high expectations. I would go here again but I've seen better. Anyways, if you aren't Hispanic I'm sure u will love it regardless. Hot sauce is on point though.

I ordered a skirt steak Med-Rare and the steak came super well done. It’s all burnt and I paid $32 for this. Super disappointed. I don’t like my steak cooked a lot, which is why I ordered it Med-rare.

I absolutely love this restaurant and have no problem driving over an hour just to enjoy their food. That’s how much I usually look forward to it. But this last visit left me disappointed. I ordered 5 Hawaiian empanadas and 2 chicken, and as I was eating one of the Hawaiian empanadas, I found a piece of plastic in my food. The food itself wasn’t bad, but that moment really threw me off. It made me hesitant to eat the rest, which was such a letdown, especially from a place I usually rave about.

Attentive and courteous staff, despite being a very busy location I was out the door food in hand in no more than 8/10 minutes. well above average taste. big portions great prices.

The absolute worst. I had incorrect items as well as missing items from my order. My own fault for not checking, but I assumed they knew what they were doing to ensure it was packaged correctly and kept it tied up until I got home... guess not. This isn't the first time this has happened either.

Good Colombian food. Good service. Cozy place. Love the chicken but needs add potatoes in the menu

My local spot ,Usually just order their rotisserie chicken with white rice and beans and it never disappoints. Always fresh and filling for the family . Have also tried their steak and that too is Muy Bueno!

I have to say this is the only reason why I'm writing is because this is the 10-20x this has happened! I always order the family combo I switch out the fries and get tostones and I always always ORDER IN SPANISH. And I always order the garlic sauce. the crazy part is that I don't just order 1 order that includes 3 cups I ordered 3 which should be 9 cups!!! What do I get? No garlic sauce or extra hot sauce or no sauces at all, or they make me pay and only give me 3 tiny cups. Today I did my regular order and the lady on the phone said we offer that sauce small tube for $5. The order gets her and I only of hot sauce!!!!! Wtf!!!! Heres the worst part. I call upset and the same lady picks up and tells me, "no you order hot sauce." Lady how are you going to tell me I ordered something I don't like. Are you serious? Then she tells me, I'll have the delivery guy bring you the sauce but you have to give us the hot sauce back. I told her take the sauce I don't want it. Now here's the kicker. Another lady calls me back to tell me I have to give the sauce back. Like really?! Let me tell youR chicken is dry!!!! It may have flavor but it's like eating the Desert!

I had a great experience today. Took my Mom for lunch. Seated quick in the outside seating they set up which was clean and cute. Ordered Morcilla and Chicarrones for appetizer. Yum! The Morcilla was very good, not spicy. Also the Chicarrones were perfectly fried and crispy (not dried out like some places). We split a combo which was half chicken, salad and rice and beans. Perfect amount of food for 2 people and our bill was decently priced. Oh & before I forget the classic Peruvian green sauce.. Amazing !

I should have checked the reviews on this place before dining here. Originally we drove to kantu however they were closing so i decided to try rico's. I figured you can't go wrong with pollos a la brasa. Apparently you can! This is by far the driest rotisserie chicken i've ever had in my life! And i've had a lot. And i used to work at a peruvian restaurant! The bandeja paisa was also mediocre. Nothing special in terms of flavor. I guess the best part would be the portion size. But if the flavor isn't good then what's the point? I also hate having to write this review because we are going through a pandemic and i know businesses are struggling as it is. But i would be upset if i spent money on mediocre food. To top it off the waitress refused to give us tap water cause she wanted to make money off of us. I don't believe in paying for water especially when nyc tap water is better then poland spring. At least they didnt tack on the gratuity like most latin restaurants do.

Their food is delicious and the empanadas are wonderful! I just wish they would give more white rice with the order of rice & beans. Give them a try!

I'm giving this review without trying out their food. Just got an order of a pandeja paisa for 19 dollars (very expensive). Delivery guy never called me to come outside and had to tell the restaurant to call me. The only call I got was from them, and I had to wait an extra 15 mins for him to come back cause no one opened when he called(HE NEVER CALLED). Just touched my food and it's cold. Now to enjoy my 19$ cold meal.

I walked in and the place is so cute! They only take cash!!!! It's a narrow entrance that opens up into a slightly larger dining area. I'm not sure about the restroom situation since I didn't need to use it. Food came out piping hot, flavorful, and nothing short of delicious. BUT! there was a hair on the table that wasn't mine. It could of been a previous person sitting there or the waitress that didn't have her hair tied. :/ Other than that, everything was awesome.

I have ordered take out from here several times and I am never disappointed. Tonite, with my usual family meal I ordered Arroz con Pollo. It was off the charts good. This place serves GOOD FOOD. The empanadas are the best around as well as the chicharron. Do not hesitate....order!!! You'll thank me!!

Mario De Pollo is the gold standard but these guys are good for a Friday night date if you want rice and beans with pillows. Service is pretty good

I come to this location at least once a week. The rotisserie chicken is on point, the beans are flavorful. Their steaks, specifically the churrasco is absolutely delish. The cook makes it as ordered each time. The only negative about this place is that the cook may tend to over use the salt a little bit. Sometimes the soups are too salty and the tostones (fried green plantain) have too much salt. Additional salt should be added by the patron, not the cook. Otherwise, great Colombian food and a good price. Nice portions.

Been here twice. First time was okay so I gave it another shot... but the second time was horrendous. Nunca ha probado una comida tan maluca. I guess after eating Colombian food for years I know when it's good vs half assed. Tengo pena de que dicen esa comida es Colombiana.

We have been wanting to try this place. One night we saw the rotisserie chicken spinning and found parking so we came in. We ordered the whole chicken combo, and chicharron. Chicken was very salty and the chicharron was unrecognizable see picture. DRY, very DRY. How can anyone pass off a shitty piss of meat this way. It does not take much to lose a customer, why serve a dry overcooked piece of chicharron. The seating area is clean but with a kitchen area so small, i can see how it is difficult to keep clean. Workers are touching raw chicken and cooked chicken all without gloves, dropping and picking up things from the floor.... Not such a clean operation. AT 28.00 not worth it.

I love rotisserie chicken and I was passing by saw some cooking through their window and decided to give it a try. It was such a disappointment. The chicken had no taste whatsoever it was just like they took the chicken out of the package washed it and put it on the spit and that was it. The White meat was very dry and the chicken had zero absolute zero taste. My friends did not think much of it as well .I cant see how other reviewers are saying this is the best chicken around.This is the exact same tasting chicken that I could buy at a supermarket deli counter or even in a BJ's Wholesale Club but for one third the price. The chicken is definitely not worth 14 bucks. I can get a real well seasoned and whole delicious chicken for less than 10 bucks by Knickerbocker Ave

We order from here pretty often. Salmon tasted good most of the times, unfortunately sometimes it comes reaaaally dry... cheese empanadas are also really good.

RUDEST PEOPLE EVER. Here are my two experiences at this Rico's Chicken: 1. Wouldn't let my son use the bathroom after we ate here because we weren't ordering food at that moment. I explained we live across the street and have eaten here before and she said, "either sit down and order something or leave". 2. With a $50 to go order the same nasty woman wouldn't give me a tiny plastic thing of chimmi churri because we didn't order steak. We told her we like it with the chicken and she simply replied, "Chimmi Churri is not for chicken, it's only for steak". With a $50 order, she denied us $.25 condiment because she's just a mean person. Look at how many reviews on Yelp say the same thing! Wake up Rico's you guys suck! Get out of my town if you hate serving my neighborhood. I tell everyone on the block to boycott this establishment and their nasty disposition.

I love this place, My go to place for Delicious Colombian Food. The food is consistently great and the prices are fair, the staff is always very courteous, friendly and attentive to you. A few TVs around the dinning room usually showing sports. The Bandeja Paisa is excellent, and so is their rotisserie chicken juicy and delicious. They also offer great Family sized meals for a decent price at least 3-4 people can eat well at their family meal.

The chicken is so moist and tasty that I can't get enough. The rice and beans pair with it so well, I love to get all three in every mouthful. Even the side salad I hey with every order is as fresh as possible. What more can I say. I periodically get it delivered, but when I pick it up, the service is always professional and friendly. Love this place!!

I was looking for lunch and was in the neighborhood and saw this Latin spot. I checked yelp and was excited about the two excellent reviews I read. I had a taste for pork chops and ordered a pork chop meal for $12. The restaurant is small, very clean with a cute decor. I ordered my food to go and it took a little longer than I expected. The staff were friendly and I really hate giving a poor review but the food was way too bland to be a Latin spot. I received rice and beans and a small side of salad with my porkchops and the salad was my favorite. The portions were big enough for me to eat two days and the 2nd day of food didn't taste any better than the first. For $12, I was expecting a lot better. There are way too many Latin spots that are much cheaper and taste way better. Sorry :-(..

I loveee this place !!! Has the best food I had try in middle village ! Honestly im happy I love sooo close t this place . The bandeja paisa is one of my favorite plates and my bf always ask for the same plate . I love their staff super friendly and I always feel welcome . Def a gold place hidden in middle village

Decor was very nice, staff was very attentive and fast, generous portions and tasty, and reasonable prices. We were so happy to have a new place!!! But, that was during the summer. Things have changed and not for the better. Staff seems to be different too. A couple of weeks ago the chicharrón we got was 5 seconds away from being burnt. They gave us another order and made us feel as if we were being difficult. Came back one more time in case they were having an off day.... The empanadas looked as if they were left overs from the baked batch and had been fried. Service was bad except for one girl but she left before our meal was over. It's sad because everyone was so polite during the summer. You couldn't walk out without several thanks yous and good byes. This last visit we noticed that portions were cut in half and as we were leaving the guy at the register, and perhaps the manager, were having an intense conversation about fútbol. Didn't even notice we said thank you on our way out. I was extremely dissapointed because we were looking forward to being regulars. May give it one more try because the food was not terrible.

I've order for delivery from many places like this so I kinda knew what to expect but I was very surprised with just how much better the food was here. The chicharrons were so good. Plenty of pork on them and perfectly crispy skin. Also, the steak was so good and cooked great. It really was delicious. The chorizo was large and flavorful. The corn cake was grilled and great to dip in the green sauce which comes with the meal. This is definitely where I'm gonna get Columbian food from now on. This place is great!

Every time we receive a delivery from Rico's something is missing from the order. I don't understand what's going on with this place, the service and the food are disappointing these days.

I ordered from this place because it's close to my house and the food is descent but the service sucks. Always something missing. Today I ordered the seafood dish which comes with rice. We received the order without the rice, I called and was told that the rice would be delivered asap. Never received

In an effort to avoid all the bad food options at Atlas Mall, I ventured a little further to Metropolitan Ave. I passed this place several times, but didn't know the name or if it was still in business. To my happy surprise it was! I went in, there were a few guys behind the counter but no one greeted me. The older man who looks like he's either the owner or someone in charge, didn't acknowledge me. Looked at me, and went about his business. No smile, no greeting. I wasn't sure if it was place ur order and sit, sit wherever u want, or wait to be seated. It was awkward to have to stand there for someone to finally acknowledge me. Not a good start. I was told to sit wherever I wanted. There were quite a few people at the time so I sat all the way in the back. I ordered the 1/4 chicken combo. The piece of chicken was extremely tiny. The entire piece was equivalent to a piece of thigh at any other chicken place. However, the chicken was surprisingly tasty. Very comparable to Pio Pio. Pretty good green sauce and great beans. I would def eat there again, but def order the 1/2 chicken instead.

I order delivery pretty much every day, food is very good, I always order rotisserie chicken or grill chicken breast with rice and beans and salad, they make great home made lemonade(is with lime) and passion fruit juice. I love the tostones too.

Avoid this restaurant at all cost. Ironically, the name of the eatablishment is the absolute opposite of the reality. The chicken is hard to peel off and tasteless. Tried given them a chance, and the salad and avocado is always discolored. Worst "colombian" restaurant in queens.

Looks like Metropolitan Avenue is good for something after all :P The restaurant is kinda small, but does look very cute. I decided to try their Colombian platter. Thirteen dollars for a massive portion size; I could barely finish half of it! I was not a big fan of the plantain, but the pork rind (I dont even like pork usually) and the steak were amazing. They have a pretty diverse menu, so I really wanna try some of their other dishes. Thumbs up from me!

place look clean but food is not good they mop with a dirty mop and it smells bad... i order steak i ask for medioum it was well done.. i also order sunny side eggs and they were over cooked.. chiken was old.. the taste was very doll and dry.. their hot sauce which they clame they make has small pieces of robber band.. its not the firs time i seen it and not he first time i mentioned to them.. i dont recomend this place at all.. my husband is colombian and i love latino food.. but this place is not good... owner should also think about changing staff cashier/server has an ugly and arrogant attitue.. i give one start even thought they dont deserve it...

Favorite Colombian restaurant!!! I work nearby so I usually dine in or take out after my shift. The place is small but it's always quiet if you want to eat inside. My co-workers constantly order from here; the delivery guy makes 5-7 trips to my job every week! The empanadas are delish and their green sauce is ADDICTIVE! I put that on everything. My fave dish is the beef fried rice. I get it almost all the time.

Great place to get a good plate for lunch or dinner. Portions are very good and prices are not that high as others Colombian restaurants, like Pollos Mario. The food is always fresh and they are not skimpy on the avocado. I always get the skirt steak #1 great portions that fill you up for half of the day. Service is very good place is not that big 4 family tables and 2 couple ones but as a Latino I can say the food is better than other Colombian and Peruvian places I been to.

I was thinking how many stars to give Rico's and I couldn't think of any reason to give them less than 5 stars. Every time we order from here my family is in heaven, The food is good. It's homemade and tastes incredible. If this wasn't enough, they give you excellent portions at a very good price and even the delivery time is fantastic. If you are sitting at home and are sick of ordering the same things week after week give Rico's a try. You wont be disappointed!

A little bit pricey but food is very good! Their portion is big so won't complain about the price. Definitely recommend the beef (cook with tomato I think, sorry, don't remember the name of it) and rice, it was awesome! Definitely a great neighborhood place!

Love this place the food is really good! Just the last few times the delivery guy has been a jerk and giving me different total of my delivery, and giving back less change, also bringing my food in a broken container.
