This is the bike shop to be. I had bad service on college street and my friend recommended me to come RIDE AWAY, the crew is really welcoming and understanding my situation how upset I am. They fix my flat tire and quickly found there is actually some scratches on my outer tire which previous bike shop didn’t find. Thank you for the crew and such amazing job!

Google
I have been taking bikes here for tune ups, airs, and repairs for years. Was looking for a used bike and found something very unique and versatile that was reasonably priced. Rides like a dream but noticed some squeaking and took it in the next day and the staff fixed it on the spot. Good vibes all around.

Google
Ride Away Bikes is by far my favourite place in the city to get my bike fixed or tuned up. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and will always go out of their way to make sure you get the best help you need. I bought a KHS Urban Soul from here a few years back and still love it. Very good price too. There's a reason that even the mayor of Toronto shops here!

Stephen Cheng

Google
Fantastic bike store! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They fixed up my girl's bike quickly and inexpensively. They also take in old kids bikes, give them a tune up, and give them away. Reuse before recycling! These pair are my girls' first bikes and I'm happy they'll find new home.

Michael Power

Google
This has been my local bike shop for 5 years and I already loved it. Yesterday I found the most amazing bicycle that suited my price range and I was so grateful. Thank you ride away people for being amazing and kind! I will always support your stores!

Google
You’ve gotta be patient when you’re out during a pandemic, and the staff at Ride Away are patient and nice people. Huge line the day I went in but once it’s your turn they treat you like you’re the only customer they’ve had all day. Good selection of bikes and accessories and reasonable prices.

Google
Fantastic local bike shop! They did a phenomenonal tune up job for me. They clearly paid attention to the details in cleaning and maintenance. My raggedy commuter bike rides like a brand new bike!

Wises Xatepha

Google
They are very friendly, caring people with a great sense of humour. Always there to provide the best care for your bike as quickly as possible for the most reasonable fee. They now have a more spacious store, so I am happy for them.

Jenny S.

Yelp
Ride Away Bikes has quickly become my favorite one stop shop for all things bicycles. I really appreciate their attention to detail, timely work and excellent customer service. I'm very grateful to have found Ride Away Bikes.

Marie D.

Yelp
My favourite bike shop ever. Great staff. Great vibe. Victor is amazing, always so helpful.

Jon C.

Yelp
The customer service here is great! I was looking for a bike rack and given covid, called first. Adam was so helpful and took the time to answer my many questions and scenarios, followed up with me when the product was available. He helped me install and teach me. This shop is great and I'll definitely shop here again, cause you cant too A+ service.

Evelyn A.

Yelp
My favourite bike shop has a new, second location! Lucky Junction. I am not an avid cyclist, but I still own a bike and use it to get around TO from time to time. The staff here are as friendly to me as they are to any expert-level client, and that is awesome. So often the vibe in shops like this is aimed only at bike messenger-types, but that's not the case with Ride Away. No guff if you haven't tuned up in a while, good deals on new and used bikes and a truly caring staff that will walk you through stuff without being condescending.

Maria W.

Yelp
TERRIBLE customer service. Take your business elsewhere. I ordered a bike nearly 3 weeks ago and my purchase was delayed for whatever reason. So I emailed last Tuesday to inquire about an estimate timeframe for delivery. I could wait, I just would have liked to know if it was coming this month, if they accidentally sold out, etc. No response. I called last Friday and was told someone would call me this week. It is now Wednesday and no email response and no call. Then I got my husband to call and all of a suddent the owner Don will deliver tonight and he will delivery to the door. Then when he finally got to our place, he pretended not to hear me over the phone (I was typing and talking on speaker at the same time - repeatedly asking if he could hear), pretended not to get my texts, and he hung up on me. He didn't pick up the phone when I called him back but he answered the phone when my husband called him and it was only after my husband called him was it that he was finally able to find the front door. This guy is the owner? TLDR: TERRIBLE customer service. There are plenty of other bike shops in Toronto to support.

Andy M.

Yelp
Nicest staff. Always super helpful and welcoming. They never make you feel like an idiot even when you feel like you seem like one.

Mary C.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience buying a bike here. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and they had a great selection of used and new bikes between $200-550. They probably have more expensive bikes as well, but they never pressured me to increase my budget. As someone who hasn't owned a bike in 15 years, I found the process of searching for a bike to be pretty intimidating. Luckily, the staff at Ride Away Bikes was extremely patient and helpful. I wasn't sure what I was looking for and they let me test out several bikes, each time getting closer to what I wanted until we found a bike that was JUST RIGHT. I felt like Goldilocks, for real. I am thrilled about my bike, and most importantly, I feel confident that it was the right pick. So glad I went to Ride Away Bikes!

Stephanie M.

Yelp
My old bike is always in need of care and these guys are willing to help me keep it alive. I appreciate that they offer a tiered system of reusing old parts or offering new ones depending on your preference. They are always helpful, always knowledgable, and always enthusiastic ( which is impressive given that my bike is almost 30 years old).

Jared R.

Yelp
I went on a bike shopping expedition with a good buddy last Saturday. He gets a credit from his company to buy either a bike or a transit pass and decided he wanted a fixie (cliché I know). We spent a good part of Saturday afternoon wandering downtown checking out various bike shops. Ride away was one of the best. The employees were super knowledgeable and keen to answer any questions about the bikes. They also do very nice repairs of all kinds of used bikes. I have a 90s Canadian Tire Moutain Bike which I will take to them next spring and see what they can do!,

Tom G.

Yelp
Got my Reid here a few years back. The best purchase I've made in a good long time. I absolutely love the bikes and hope to enjoy it for years to come. Got my bike at the Dundas location, going to bring it in for a tune up at the Queen Street location in a couple of hours.

Laurie H.

Yelp
I've been looking for a used bike on Kijiji & LetGo for a few weeks now, and I'm SO GLAD I came to Ride Away Bikes. Honestly, it's worth it and probably cheaper overall to just come to Ride Away Bikes. They're busy for a reason and the reviews are high for a reason. I was beyond impressed with the service I received here today. Finn and Justin went above and beyond and were so patient and kind in answering my (at times) incredibly dumb questions about bikes, biking in Toronto and what to do with my U-Lock when I'm not using my bike (duh). It was interesting to see the shop get significantly busier 10 minutes before closing (there was actually a line!), but the staff continued to be incredibly kind, helpful and patient to all the customers. I ended up staying for over an hour about 15 minutes after closing time. I test rode 3 bikes (they trusted me enough to just let me take them out) and left with a snazzy Diamondback, a U-Lock (with the holder installed twice by Justin, taking care to not only show me how it worked but making sure that it didn't get in the way when I was on the bike) and a complimentary bell. I HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone looking for a bike (new or used), bike gear & accessories, tune ups, or even if you just have questions about bikes in general. I will be recommending this shop to everyone I come across, including strangers. Thank you! FYI: 90 day warranty on used bikes

Oniony J.

Yelp
I went to Ride Away a few weeks ago thinking my bike was literally falling apart. It was 100% unrideable and not safe for the road. They called me 2 days later and said nothing was wrong with my bike and there was no charge. It rode perfectly when I picked it up. The team here is incredible and so honest. Recommended times a million

S E.

Yelp
I purchased a BRAND NEW bike And that same afternoon was thrown into the middle of the street because it came apart(resulting in injury). I took the bike to their second location where they put it together and told me that the first person pretty much did nothing. There was no follow up or apology after i reported. I got my bike but I also got a sprained foot to go with it...

Sebastien A.

Yelp
I am extremely DISAPPOINTED by the POOR QUALITY of the bike that I bought the DISHONESTY the store owners. I bought a bike for 200$ early in 2018, with the promise that they would buy it back at the end of the year for 50$. It turns out that the bike was DEFECTUOUS, I had to go repair it 2 times through the year, at my own cost. Then end of year, when I went back to resell it to them as promised, they only gave us 30$ back, with an extreme disagreeable attitude and poor explanation ("stock market for bikes is down"). They should be ashamed.

Margot M.

Yelp
I both a defectuous bike in this shop and they didn't give me money to return the bike. I don't understand how they can sell defectuous bikes at 200$ !

Lisa E.

Yelp
I haven't bought anything from this place, but I intended to so hopefully that counts for something. What I did do, was bring my ancient bike in here twice (I got it from some girl on Kijiji, and then the gear thinger promptly started doing a spinnarama and I was like "oh crap will I die?" whilst riding along Queens Quay. I believe she hid this from me and I will spend the rest of my life solving this mystery), both times for the same gear issue. Both times they fixed it right away, and sent me on my way no charge. Plus they pumped my tires and checked everything else without even asking me. Who does that?! They are so nice! *crying emoji*. I left feeling like maybe I wouldn't die so much, and with full tires. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, including the girl I bought the bike from. I hope one day she buys a used chair from someone on Craigslist, and the chair only has two legs and she doesn't realise until she sits on it and then is like "oh wow this feels weird".

Angela V.

Yelp
Awesome little bike shop. They've got the entire store lined with bikes from ceiling to floor. The selection is well curated for bikes for every budget, especially since they also sell a lot of used bikes too (check often though because these fly off like hot cakes). I was looking for a new bike. But because I'm short as hell, there's not as much for me to choose from. The staff were patient in explaining different bikes, their features, and allowing me to test ride as many as I wanted. In the end, even though the bike I wanted to test wasn't built yet, they built it for me on the spot (took a mere 15 minutes) and kept reminding me that there was no pressure to purchase it. I ended up getting it cuz it was a great bike at a great price. Oh yea, they also sell high end locks, baskets, etc here as well. And their servicing is cheaper than a lot of other shops in Toronto.

Jon A.

Yelp
Fairdale Daybirds. Matching. For this married couple. Wife, Evelyn A, matching bike wife, when asked about the matching bikes, said "one small step in embarrassing our daughter, one giant leap for the kind of quality of living we'd like." Incredible service. Welcoming and at the ready for all those little questions that could add up to crashes as a first time Toronto city rider. And, add up to be some annoying questions but they never made me feel that way. I like the mix of certified pre owned and new bikes here. I also like the accessories. There's a gold bell that's loud AF I recommend. Speaking of recommending, I wouldn't do that for any other bike shop.

Kathleen C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had an awesome experience purchasing bikes from the team at Ride Away Bikes. Eric and Don were knowledgeable, kind and patient as we asked them what likely felt like a million questions after not having owned bikes since our teen years. Our experience was seamless and we were happy to support a great business during a challenging time.

Jamie P.

Yelp
I lived pretty close by for about eight months and I always loved going to this shop. The staff are all really chill and nice. They're knowledgeable and for the most part small repairs they do on the spot and it's really cheap too! The selection of gear isn't a lot, but what do you expect from a smaller shop? If they had the room I've no doubt there'd be more items. Still, they have all the essentials at great prices. I've gotten my bike and my boyfriend's bike tuned up here many times. They've fixed flats for me, installed baskets and back racks, and fixed problems with the seat among other things. Besides the flat and tune ups, they didn't charge me anything! I really feel like this is a place where you get to know the people behind the desk. I've never gotten attitude or felt like I wasn't wanted there. My only regret is that I now live too far to come here on the regular... Anyway, TL;DR, great guys, great service, great prices.

Mel R.

Yelp
I walked in to your shop today fully prepared to buy a bicycle. Unfortunately you were to busy talking about how your I presume to be owner of the store... Didn't pay his taxes for the last two years. I presume because you didn't see me when I walked into your store... That you didn't see me leave either. Bad business guys.

Sabrina M.

Yelp
OKAY SO. Mortified. Yesterday when I rolled my bike down my front steps, which I have done about a million times, my fucking front wheel rolled off. (!!!!!!!!!) There is NO excuse for this to happen, seriously! Holy fucking shit! (!!!!!! expletive expletive expletive !!!!!!!) I had a tune up done and a flat changed a month ago at this place. See previous review for that comedy of errors. What if this had happened while I was riding my bike on the road? Seriously? Could have died! I do NOT trust these people with my bicycle! I know this is their shit job (not going to mince words anymore, sigh, there is no excuse for this quality of service) because they changed my front wheel b/c I had a flat, and needed a key I had to take off my front wheel. Without this key, it is basically impossible to remove the front wheel. If they did their job properly and installed the wheel properly - with the lock in place - there is *no way in hell* my wheel should have come off so easily. Beyond pissed off, and seriously have no time to deal with this nonsense or the nonsense I posted in the previous review. With my old review I was willing to at least be kind of nice but at the moment I do not have words for how unimpressed I am. If I am paying you money for a service you had better do it properly. Going to request a refund, will keep y'all updated on how that process goes.

Kent P.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Ride Away. They replaced my back wheel super quick and for what I'd consider next to nothing. After dealing with about half a dozen different bike shops in the city, Ride Away is the best. Convenient location, super knowledgeable staff that won't try to pull one over on you, quick turn around times, and they're open everyday.

Monica N.

Yelp
Today I bought my first ever new bike thanks to the knowledgeable and patient people at Ride Away Bikes. I've used second-hand bikes for most of my adulthood and was super excited to finally get myself a new one. I first went to Ride Away Bikes about a year ago when I needed a tune up and new handle bar for my old beater Raleigh and found them to be quick, efficient and not expensive relative to other bike shops in the city. So I felt comfortable heading back there when it was a time for a new bike. Also, I had looked into their selection of bikes before heading in and really liked what was on offer. I was really impressed with my experience at Ride Away again today. Even though it was super busy, (they were open on a holiday) staff at the shop took the time to help me figure out what would work for my needs. What I liked best was that they were honest and informative. When I was trying to make a decision between a bike that was within my stated budget and one that was way beyond my budget but that had also caught my eye (it was pretty), they really helped me figure out and understand the respective specs of each bike. In the end, I feel like I made a sensible and well-informed choice! Since I spent a bit of time there trying to make a final decision, I noticed this top notch level of service with all other customers that walked in regardless of whether they were looking for a big or small service or making a large or minor purchase. This is definitely a customer-service oriented shop and will definitely go back again when needed!

Robert C.

Yelp
Ride Away Bikes demonstrated expert knowledge and charged me nothing; they didn't even ask for compensation before during or after he fixed my brake and pumped up my tires. It was like they did it for the bicycle.

Bryan L.

Yelp
I don't Yelp very often but these guys have been consistently really great -- and it is difficult to find a good bike store! I've been cycling in Toronto for 10 years but I don't really like going to the bike store because I have had lots of bad experiences with snotty or dismissive bike mechanics. I used to only go to Biseagal, which is my other fave Toronto bike spot, but they are on the other side of town from me. I started going to Ride Away just because it was around the corner from my house and was a little apprehensive at first because of the slight dudey/hipster vibe of the place (sorry! prejudice!) However I was surprised and delighted by Ride Away. They are extremely professional and always do a good job. They are very upfront about whether or not they can fix your bike, and on multiple occasions they have told me to come back if I have problems -- which is worlds away from other bike stores where if I come back because there is a problem, they have said it is my fault, even if I return the day after picking my bike up. There is even one bike mechanic at Ride Away who knows how to fix my old-fashioned internal hub. I have been to many bike stores where they don't know how to fix it -- which is fine -- but then they have actually pretended that they know how to fix it, and have made things worse. Not so at Ride Away. Another very nice (and unexpected thing) about Ride Away is now that I have been going there regularly, they always remember me -- a definite first for me at a bike store -- and are often even (dare I say this about bike mechanics?) very kind. They never charge me for the little tweaks here and there, to the point that I am now starting to feel like I am ripping them off! They are not always super friendly, but I don't mind that because sometimes I find that kind of customer service a bit phoney or bro-y. Instead at Ride Away they are very unpretentious and they are good bike mechanics. If you dread going to the bike mechanic, you can go here without any worry.

Adam J.

Yelp
The last honest bike shop in the city. Always friendly, quick service with better prices than anyone else. Good selection of used bikes too.

Dandi F.

Yelp
I called in the afternoon to see if I could book an appointment with them for fixing up my bike. They told me to bring my bike at anytime, no appointment needed. They told me what the cost was going to be on the phone call. My bike was fixed in 15min after I dropped it off at the store. Fast and efficient! I'm satisfied.

Marc D.

Yelp
These guys are competent, fairly priced and FAST. Twice this week (due to my sales resistance; I should have listened) they did repairs and replacements while I waited, and my beater bike is restored for probably another couple of winters. As a one-time bike courier and cycle-tourer, I could do this work myself, but they are better and certainly faster than I would be. I also bought a 50% off KHS road bike for my wife here last November when they put their stock on clearance; unfortunately, it was stolen, but I'll be back for its replacement as she was very happy with it.

Tori L.

Yelp
Super friendly and helpful staff! This is my go-to place for any repairs/accessories that I need for my bike. A beautiful selection of used bikes too, and I will almost definitely be coming here when the time comes to get a new bike!

Karen H.

Yelp
Yay for Ride Away Bikes and for NOT being a bunch of douche bag know-it-alls! Yes - know your product but so many bike shops around town are intimidating to the non-experienced rider. I went in to replace my old beater bike with a new used bike. They only had 3 used bikes on display but they were almost finished fixing up a bunch more. All I wanted was a bike with fat tires and comfortable to ride in the city. Nothing fancy, nothing over the top. I got my perfect city bike at a great price and they didn't do any hard up-selling. I'll definitely go back when I need a tune-up or another upgrade.

Brad H.

Yelp
If you are buying a new or used bike start here! As far as bike shops go the experience was amazing. We r simple bikers and were treated with kind and helpful service. Some places make you feel small for not knowing a lot about biking. They were patient and installed all the gear we bought to the used bike we bought. He even gave us a free bell. We tried other shops before landing here. Best price on used bikes and steller staff.

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Went in to browse the bikes and ask questions. I had great service and wasn't pressured to buy anything. As someone relatively new to cycling, the guy helping me was very informative, not condescending and friendly. I'd definitely come back here for bike service or to purchase something in the future.

Nhan N.

Yelp
Went in looking for a used bike. Was recommended my some friends. Saw a bike I liked and spoke to 2 associates. The first one was very nice. But the second was nice too but his mood shifted so drastically and became SO rude. After a test drive, I asked to bargain down a bit just because of my concerns with tears and wear on the tires he said no. I asked again (politely) for just $10 off and he replied "I'm not going to tell you again twice. No. Otherwise you can get the hell out of my shop." Feeling dejected, I declined and told him I was getting a bad vibe from him.

Samual S.

Yelp
I walked inside, the store was empty. The guy behind the glass counter barely looked up. I asked a question and without looking he vaguely pointed to a wall. Overpriced bikes and parts. Not worth it.

Don C.

Yelp
Great service. Reasonable prices. New and used bikes. They'll give really little kids a free first bike (used). I have a few bikes in the house and have tried lots of bike shop options in the 'hood, and this is my go-to choice.

Phil S.

Yelp
Came here after reading the great reviews. It's true! Just came in to buy a new lock and a bell. Had a few questions that were thoughtfully answered and not just sold at. Prices were reasonable too. Some other places I've been feel a little intimidating / sales pressured / ego-y. These guys were genuinely nice and helpful. These guys are running a business the right way, if you ask me.

Erin M.

Yelp
I bought a new bike here about 2.5 years ago and went in for a tune-up the other weekend and was reminded of how wonderful my initial purchase experience was. I didn't have a bike growing up, so learning to ride a bike as an adult was terrifying, and buying the right bike was really important. The staff took their time with me, showing me lots of options, and helping me take them out on the sidewalk to test. They were patient and kind. My bike has been amazing, great quality, perfect for my needs. I had shopped around a lot (I had gone to about 12 different shops and stores) when I was looking for my first bike, and the bike prices here were really outstanding. When I went back in to get it tuned up, they got it done in just 15 minutes - I am not sure this can always be done so quickly, but certainly I was impressed and very pleased. I noticed one negative review about the prices for accessories - I have to agree that accessories seemed a bit pricey here, and have bought my lights, helmet, etc. from MEC which has very reasonable prices. When it comes to buying a new or used bike, and getting it serviced, I can't recommend this place enough.

Elli G.

Yelp
I got my bike here last spring and I love it. After 10 months I brought it in for a quick tuneup and they were all very kind and knowledgable in what they do. My bike wasn't built to get a back rack installed, but they were really great about it and recommended a different shop nearby that could possibly help me out more with that. Thanks guys for being so kind, smart, and efficient!

Danilo C.

Yelp
I thought my bike was gone for real, but their tune-up was magical and I've been riding it since. They are small so eventually they will not have space to park your bike before the tune-up, call ahead.

Richard A.

Yelp
One of the best bike shops I've been to. If you're wanting a bike to ride the Tour De France on, although they could probably get something that fits the bill, they wouldn't normally stock it. However, if you're like most people and want a bike that'll get you around this awesome city and enable you to explore, they have everything you need. The store stocks a great selection of bikes and usually has a bunch of used bikes too as well as tonnes of accessories and spare parts. All the guys that work there are super approachable, know their stuff and won't try and sell you something you don't need. Between myself and my partner, we've purchased 5 bikes from Ride Away and each time it's been so easy. I'm a firm believer that, once you've found a store/restaurant/service that works, you stick with it and support them. Thats what I'll be doing with Ride Away from now on.

Eugene S.

Yelp
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great and quick service. Well priced and of good quality. Highly recommended.

Vincent L.

Yelp
I'm usually skeptical about bike shops but Ride Away Bikes was quite the opposite. They were very helpful in terms of knowledge and they don't push a sale. Needless to say, I purchased a SE Draft Lite and I couldn't be happier with the price. I also bought a Kryptonite bike lock from them which was significantly cheaper than other stores in Toronto. When purchasing a bike, they provide you a complimentary tune-up and will assist you with other little gimmicks. Great store! Will definitely keep it as my go-to bike shop.

Jordan B.

Yelp
I really like this place. I've been to a lot of Toronto bike shops and been a bit off-put by some of the snobbery, but every time I go here, they're always really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are fair and the work is good quality. More of a service place than an accessories place, though. Also you can go over to Porchetta and Co while you are in the neighbourhood. Win-win. Highly recommended.

Maryam A.

Yelp
Amazing! fantastic customer service. Every person working there is super laid back, quick to resolve any issues and just really nice people. My wife and I always take our bikes to Ride Away Bikes. Highly recommended.

Yen-Ming L.

Yelp
the best place. bought a bike today and the staff was very helpful. he went outside in a T shirt and it was -15C to show me the different bikes on sale outside... definitely recommend. will go back to buy another bike

Christine M.

Yelp
LOVE these guys, They helped me so much after my bike got ripped off. They set me up with a new bike and then, 24 hours later, let me exchange it for a different model. They even, free of charge, stripped and remounted the two baskets, carrier, kick stand and bell that they had put on the first bike. All with a smile and while I waited. Amazing. Really recommend.

Vojtěch V.

Yelp
I bought two bikes in this store and I'm fully satisfied. Awesome customer service!

Robert B.

Yelp
Great bike shop...did a few different things for me on the spot over a couple of different visits; tire change, seat and handlebar adjustment and fixing a front tire rub all for $15. Definitely recommend for maintenance purposes.
