Ride The Tide Surf School

Thanks to Jay and D'Angelo for the AMAZING ladies group session! I actually booked a 9:30 lesson, but that time the sea was too rough and hardly manageable for me as a beginner. Jay proposed to reschedule to 15:30 and the conditions were perfect for my skill level. After a short instruction at the beach we spent almost 2 hours in the water. The group was 5 surfers + 2 coaches, so after paddling I could catch the next wave without long waiting in the lineup. The coaches cared about our safety and kept the motivation and fun level high thoughout the entire session. Fun fact: it was a surfing into the sunset session, which got me awesome pics. Overall great experience, I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely come back! 🏄‍♀️

We had the BEST, most AMAZING experience! Our surfing trainer was, "Z," and he could not have been better. He first took my 10-year-old son out for a 1-to-1 lesson, and my son was up and standing (not for long) several times! I was so impressed that I decided to try a lesson myself, and sure enough, I was up and riding the waves several times! It was FANTASTIC, and we will be returning for additional lessons soon. Fantastic, surf shop, only a couple hundred meters away from the stairs leading to the surf at Freights Bay, Excellent array of surfboards to rent. I was lucky enough to rent a brand new never used Donald Takayama . D’Angelo was an excellent surf coach for my first day to show me the layout of the waves proper positioning in the lineup to really connect on the second section of the waves for long lefts. Average day, 20 to 25 waves 3000 to 4000 feet each day. Jay and Nate were very accommodating and great to work with . Can’t wait to get back again. Tim Ryan Cape Cod Ma.

My husband and I booked a beginners lesson during our holiday in Barbados and loved it! Our instructor was D’Angelo and he guided us through the whole process and was very friendly and patient. The entire team are very friendly and approachable. Would highly recommend if this is your first time surfing or if you just want to surf on the island.

I was lucky to get a two-hour early morning session with D’Angelo who was both clear and calm - and obviously knows Freights Bay very well. With his guidance and instructions, I managed to catch quite a few waves. While waiting for the right wave, D’Angelo was pleasant and fun company too. Online booking and payment with Ride the Tide was easy to do on their website.

I just came back from Barbados where for the whole 7 days I was there I had lessons with the surf school and I must say - I COULDNT BE HAPPIER! I had lessons both with Jay and D'Angelo, also met and got great island tips from Nate at the reception - the whole team is such a bunch of characters, all great guys always ready to help, give you an advice, be flexible or just crack a joke to make you laugh :) honestly very heartwarming team, was happy to meet them and I did considerably improve my surfing - started making tiny turns on the waves. Location is amazing - 50 metres away from the sea, also can park around. Equipment is high quality and versatile - also they have all the necessities in case you forgot something that you can buy - quality surfing sunblocks, surfing hats, rashvests - you name it. Jay and the team are doing a great job ensuring high quality very customer centric service and just great vibes. Will definitely return! Lots of love and keep it up guys - hugs from across the pond!

The best surf school in the area. D'Angelo and the crew do a great job in teaching the fundamentals of surfing. Well priced as well. Thanks lads!

My favourite part of Ride the Tide experience was meeting all of the amazing people who work there. Jay, D’Angelo and Zee are very friendly and welcoming and passionate about what they do. They’re all patient and knowledgeable instructors who go the extra mile when teaching how to surf. They had me up on the board the first day of my 3 lessons. I couldn’t wait to go back the next two days and will definitely return when I’m on the island again.
