Ridgeville Tavern

Great first visit to Rudgeville Tavern tonight. The food was excellent. Our kids loved tge soft pretzel appetizer and they have outstanding wings (Thai chili sauce was🔥so good) Both our boys were happy with kuds menu selections (buttered noodles and chicken tenders). My burger was perfect and my wife had a chicken sandwich she enjoyed. Great music playing as well. The best part was the service. Graham (guessing on the spelling) was extremely welcoming and friendly. He is an excellent ambassador for the Tavern. We will be back just because of how he took care of us. Thanks Graham.

I've had multiple items off the menu and everything has been excellent. Thursday $1 wing nights are a deal (as well as delicious). The drinks are great. And everyone on the staff are pros at their jobs. Ridgeville is a great place to bring out-of-town guests who want to hang out at a tavern.

The good. Food quality is terrific. Prices fair. Server attitude also good. The bad. We came at 750 pm on a Tuesday. Ordered our food at 805. By 830, no food had made it. Only then did server come by to say they have a big group in back and kitchen can't do our food until done making theirs. No mention of this when we ordered. Had we known, we would have left and eaten elsewhere. Another 20 minutes go by before food finally shows up. At 848. And only happened because we finally spoke with manager. No apology from management and no comp anything to make up. The server genuinely felt bad but out of his control. So if you are ok that the kitchen can only cook one plate at a time and that management reaction is uncaring, then enjoy. Again the food is good and prices fair. Just bring a lot of patience.

Great drinks and awesome food. The risotto fritters are phenomenal (not pictured though). Beer and wine on tap is also a great plus. :) Ike and staff are fantastic and I’m so excited for Ridgeville to be my new neighborhood hangout!

Excellent above-average bar food, great beer list, very comfortable, friendly. Definitely becoming a regular here.

One of the few bars left around in downtown Evanston that stays open late. Attracts a positive crowd and has fun outdoor seating. Massive selection of beers that come out quick, plus they have games and trivia nights.

First of all I can’t believe this is the same restaurant. The decor is vastly improved and the food - at least the burger I had tonight - was delicious! That relish on the burger... come try it for yourself. Maybe the best part is Ike and his familiar faces of staff. I have no doubt that Ridgeville Tavern will be a local hotspot in Evanston for years to come!

Food was whatever. Definitely overpriced bar food. Burger needs to be made with sliced onion and tomato not diced. Who puts diced tomato on a burger. Service was nice but food was ehh.

The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, and the service of our server Katherine was more than amazing!!!!!! Our group of 8 came in close to the kitchen closing and she was able to get all of our food orders. She was so lovely and sweet.

I asked for a glass of water tonight and was met with a glare and "I have 10 drinks to make you're going to have to wait." Really rude staff not sure where I went wrong? It doesn't take much to just say sure give me a minute....

Delicious, fresh, & right on!! The best service -- talented & kind chef & staff hit a home run with the risotto cakes & sweet potato fries for a weary traveler getting in late. Easygoing vibes, surprisingly yummy & well crafted food, totally good natured bartenders. Excited to come back whenever in Evanston!

Cute corner bar that used to be Bar Louie. Nice bar area with ample seating that extends around the corner, and clean restrooms. Recently attended a class reunion gathering where only the back seating was designated but when they saw the crowd of us, they allowed us to invade the whole place. (We are Evanstonians after all). Didn't try their food this time but our drinks were good and reasonable.

Tonight we made a last minute decision to try the food here when the place we wanted to order from closed early. And, I will report it was one of the worst meals I have ever had. The burgers and fried chicken sandwich were really over cooked. The fried chicken tasted like fish and the toppings on all the sandwiches were minimal and sad. This whole meal felt very depressing. Oh and everything came in styrofoam containers. Which seems shocking in the year of 2022. The only reason I'm giving the spot 2 stars is for the bar and the fact that they stay open until a decent hour in Evanston, where everyone else closes down at 10pm. Also, Their beer selection is solid. But the food was very very....very...bad.

We primary came for a drink with friends and, thus, did not dive into the food. (Though the carrot cake sure looks enticing!) Secured a cozy booth by the window. They offered a solid craft beer menu, along with fun cocktails. Wine list was more limited. The atmosphere was enjoyable. Not too loud (though it wasn't a big game night). It looked like it would be a fun spot to watch a football game. Spinach-artichoke dip with warm, fresh pita chips proved a tasty little something for us to snack on while we sipped our drinks. Our server checked in pretty often at first and was friendly throughout our visit. I'd return again for sure.

Really great food and drink selection. I love the ambiance too. I particularly like that they're relatively child friendly. Nice place for dinner and drinks.

Good drinks, nice craft beer list, great staff, nice lively environment! The place was packed and with several groups, a nice fun place to enjoy a drink in Evanston. Staff was great all night and we'll be back.

At first when you come here , you will be like " this does not remind me of bar louie" yes it was here get over it lol:) We can debate if downtown evanston is dead or not in terms of finding anyone with a pulse who is not afraid to venture outside but it was quite lively in here. My friend I was with he was especially grateful that he could get veggie quesadillas just like when it was bar Louie. I thought the fish and chips was dried out but I'm sure they will figure that out. I think it's a nice place. No one gave me a hard time when I manhandled and took over the electronic juke box by playing Metallica, Cinderella and Santana songs so there's always that

Ridgeville Tavern is such a great spot! Excellent food and great service! A great way to spend an evening.

We stopped in before a basketball game for drinks and a quick meal. We ordered a round of apps, fried pickles and fried cheese curds both of which were undercooked so the batter was unseasoned, soggy, and borderline raw. The manager came over to tell us that they had a party coming in and the kitchen was focused on their food so they couldn't guarantee our food would come out in enough time for us to make it to the game (we had an hour until we needed to leave at this point). Given the apps were so awful and we were basically told we shouldn't order anything else we decided to get the check and leave. Go elsewhere

We came for dinner on a Thursday night and sat down right away. They are checking vaccination cards at the door and you can't get in without one. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese. The sandwiches were very good, but the Mac and cheese did not impress us. The portion sizes are a little small compared to other restaurants. This aside, we will be back to this new local spot!

We were in the area trying to celebrate someone's birthday, only to be super let down by the business we tried to patronize. We ended up at Ridgeville instead, and the staff were absolutely amazing! We got AMAZING service, and our server even apologized for the circumstances that led us to Ridgeville. Burgers were ordered, and was the blackened salmon, and some cocktails. it was all delicious and amazing. If I lived closer, I would definitely be a regular! They took care of us and more than made up for our terrible experience earlier in the day!

Not a bad place for a burger. The wait staff are friendly and keep the vibe fun. Not a destination necessarily but a decent neighborhood spot.

Ridgeville is my favorite bar and grill in Chicago and Evanston by a mile! Ike and his staff are so courteous and pleasant. The food is tres delish from the appetizers to all the entrees!

Ridgeville is a great corner bar. The staff is friendly and they have smile on their face.

This a great bar! The staff are all very friendly and the vibe is relaxed. We brought a large group after a wedding. We had let them know we'd be there and they handled our group with ease. We'll be back!

We had a disappointing first impression of Ridgeville Tavern. On a Saturday evening, we ordered takeout and the bill for a couple of appetizers and two entrees totaled almost $60. The portion sizes were extremely disappointing. A $14 Mac & Cheese entree was more like a large side (see pictures). It was also pretty flavorless to have had four kinds of cheese. Preparation was pretty slow--40 minutes to prepare a takeout order is slow for a neighborhood joint. I don't think we will be back.

Elizabeth is awesome!! Great beer selection, great food, and the scenery is excellent! Great lil spot to stop by, enjoy the vibes, grab a beer and some delicious tavern food!!! Customer service was spot on!

I came to town for a concert and got in a little late. Ridgeville tavern was the perfect place for late night eats. The server Elizabeth was super friendly and helpful. The grove street chicken sandwich was SO good I can't wait to go back.

Randomly stumbled into Ridgeville Tavern and had such a fun saturday night. My best friends and I hung out with Roxy and Elizabeth. We took over the touchtunes and enjoyed cocktails. Great late night spot, we can't wait to come back!

They only serve lunch on Fridays & Saturdays - if they're open. Tuesdays-Thursdays 4PM-12AM Fridays-Saturdays 12PM-1AM

Rude and unfriendly staff. I was excited to try a new place in Evanston, but after the service we got we will not be going back.

Ended up here because of the dearth of later-night spots in Evanston. Fried pickles were 75% gloppy batter. Wine selection was crappy and $10 for a four ounce pour was and is insulting. 2 stars only because the bathrooms were clean and the bar chairs are comfortable.

Not a bad place In Evanston. The best part is it's open past 8:30 (I know, WILD for Evanston!!). The average age here at ridgeville is pretty much always around 60 but for a beer it's not a bad place to go. It's way less chaotic than bobs, which is the opposite issue of having too many 18 year olds. Ridgville is sophisticated, but fun and a great place to take your parents when they come to town. The food is okay-- get the burger, a southwest salad, or the fish and chips. The alcohol is also good here and strong.

The chicken pita was amazing and we had great service from Roxanne. Will definitely be coming back!!

Decent atmosphere. Service was slow and not too friendly when I ordered corned beef and cabbage to go I got home and opened the bag to a Rueben, which would have been fine if I didn't have a gluten allergy that I told the bartender about. Lots of potential just not executing.

Hubby and I stopped for happy hour. $5 tap beers and $5 select apps. He had an old fashioned that was not too sweet, had a fresh orange twist that wafted the table, and I love the solid square ice cube. I had the Two Brothers Domaine Dupage tap beer, and it was yummy. We shared the spinach artichoke dip served with fried pita chips sprinkled lightly with seasoned salt. Chelsea C provided A+ service, checking in at appropriate times for services and refills. Excellent service is hard to find, it seems, and we felt like we'd won the lottery when it was combined with good beverages, and tasty food. Suggest keen eyes on the silverware when rolling it, and consider some carrots and celery with the dip, especially going into spring time! We'll be back.

American food basics. Overpriced and not that good - over salted yet bland at the same time??? Service was also inattentive and seemed pretty annoyed with our table. To be fair, came with a big group (10) but didn't get our orders in until 30-40 minutes after coming in. Just a mediocre experience overall.

This place truly is a neighborhood spot, complete with being warmly greeted upon entering. The vibe is casual and comfortable. I'd describe it as an upscale bar. The service is friendly and attentive. For starters I had the risotto fritters with a sriracha aioli. The fritters were delicious. Crisp outside warm, soft inside. The aioli was creamy with just the right amount of heat. The contrast in flavor and temperature added to the depth of the dish really making it shine. For my meal I had the fish and chips. The fish were huge pieces with a really nice flavor and texture. The outside was flaky and not greasy the inside soft and mild. The fries were a little overly salty but otherwise perfectly cooked. For dessert I had the house Sunday. Vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. It was pretty basic but still good. Creamy, sweet, and a tad crunchy. The nuts gave a hint of salt which was nice contrast against the sweetness. I should also mention that they not only know how to make a proper sidecar but it's listed on their menu which is something you don't see every day. This is a great new addition to the area.

Super Yummy! Enjoyed every bite. Wait staff pleasant and ambience a delight. I would highly recommend this place.

Food was not consistent with description of the menu, taste was mediocre at best and service was disinterested. Not sure we'll go back.

Ridgeville is everything downtown Evanston needs! Great neighborhood bar, friendly staff and great food. Had the pleasure of meeting chef Eric, and had great conversation. I highly recommend anyone in the area to stop in and try some of his creations!

Met some friends here after work. Great food and a tasty Old Fashioned. The service was a bit slow and noise level VERY loud...will go back again just to confirm my first impressions.

Great food, great service and fun atmosphere. Definitely the neighborhood bar downtown Evanston needed.

I ordered for curbside pick up and paid online. I got there 30 min later when my order was supposed to be ready, but the manager came out and said that one of the things I ordered on their menu was no longer on the menu (don't know why they left it on there), and they didn't put the rest of my order in because of that. They already charged my card, so I had to go in, order new food, and wait another 30 min before finally getting my food. By the way, the shrimp poboy is a let down if you're from the south. It took an hour in total to get my food. The manager claimed they had been trying to call me before I got there, but my phone has no missed calls from them.

There were a few problems I encountered with this place: 1. the waitress was very unfriendly to me and my friend, from when we sat down till we left, but she was very nice to everybody else, checking with each table every once in a while and even having conversations with people. Ordering 1 drink or asking for check could take half an hour or longer, and this is with us reminding the waitress a couple times just to received an impatient response/face. I understand that there was only one waitress, but it became obvious that she was serving other tables well while avoiding even making eye contacts with us. I don't recall us doing anything wrong/impolite/irritating, and the only difference between us and all other people there that night is that we are Asian; 2. We had 3 drinks total, and the charge should be 35.28 including taxes. They charged 39+ as shown on my bank account the next day. Three more days later, the amount became 46.52 on my account. I am still waiting for the result of this claim from my bank (to get the improper upcharge back). Except for the stated problems, the drinks themselves were great. I have only been there once, which can make my comments biased. But at the same time, I don't plan to give it another try as I don't want to risk ruining another good night of mine.

Slowly becoming the best casual restaurant in Evanston. Love that they are open late!

food is f-ing awesome. recommend fish & chips and the avocado/spinach dip. wedged salad also passes the vibe check, very fresh lettuce
