I’ve been going to Ridley’s for more than 20 years. Never disappointing, unless closed upon my arrival. The molasses cookies are always a favorite. Since I live in middle TN my availability is limited. Stop by every time I’m in Detroit area. Keep up the great service and baked goods. Thanks for not compromising over the years.

Ridley‘s is a gift that keeps on giving.Along with its nostalgic layout and the local people that frequent this place. It’s a if you know you know type of place and the staff is wonderful, helpful, and nice. I enjoyed their service and everyone was so attentive. They explained to me what the pastries and sandwiches were made of. The sandwiches come with your choice of bread there’s eight or 10 different types along with the bread of the day so you can change your order along with the season . I ordered a Ridley’s club And a couple of cookies. They have coffee orange juice and choice beverages. I’ll be sure to come back again when I’m in the area.

Visited this place today for a quick coffee... I was happy to see Hazelnut fresh brew coffee. The place was very welcoming and the staff is happy to serve you. The ambience of the place was fresh and the bakery item selection was plenty to chose from. Though I went for the afternoon coffee today, I am very much excited to go back in morning time to pick some coffee and at least two bakery items.

Ridley's cafe immediately won the hearts of mine and my wife's instantly. As soon as we walked into the bakery, we were greeted to which I mentioned we were out of town and did not know anything about Ridley's, so what does everyone get? The lady assisting us informed me that everyone gets the Gail's Cinnamon muffin. So, we absolutely had to try one of those. I don't know who Gail is, or what magic voo-doo she worked into those muffins, but those were the most incredible muffins I have ever tasted in my life. My wife and I enjoyed them on the go due to travel time constraints, but even on the road we were completely shocked by the beauty and flavor of their cinnamon muffin. Then, to our surprise, the cinnamon sugary mix that makes any muffin top delicious was somehow embedded all the way through the muffin. Serious originality points here. Everyone always knows the joke about how people only eat the muffin tops and no one likes the stumps, but somehow Ridley's has perfected the muffin from top through bottom. I was truly impressed. We also bought tuna sandwiches which were unbelievable. I am so so sad that Ridley's isn't closer to home for us because I would be there daily. One of the best bakeries I have ever been to.

Wonderful food and friendly staff. We recently partnered with them on a local ad campaign and EVERYBODY raved about the food. The Reuben is the best (tuna is a fave as well) but everything else is awesome too. Get the Soup & Sandwich- you will love it! P.S. They have homemade bones for your dogs too which are always a hit at our house.

It was good. Sandwhich should have been toasted / panini style, also pricing online needs to be updated, but besides that everything tasted good and was well worth it. I will likely go again.

My job had lunch catered from Ridley’s for a meeting. I didn’t think I’d like the vegetarian sandwich because…it’s a vegetarian sandwich. HOWEVER, the sandwich was better than any burger I’ve ever had!!! I was pleasantly surprised and impressed.

While the people and atmosphere were wonderful, as were the food selection, I unfortunately got food poisoning from their ham and cheese quiche sandwich. Ate it in the morning, felt really sick and nauseous and dizzy all day. Couldn’t eat anything else. Hours later I had such a nasty headache I couldn’t even stand, in and out of sleep still feeling awful. Finally I threw up. I threw up the entire sandwich and everything changed. I felt so much better, more alive, and I was upbeat and moving again. It’s unfortunate this happened, especially when it was my first time eating there.

Whatever they are paying the dude with the beanie making the sandwiches is not enough, every time I come in the food is 10/10. Give that man a raise

Staff is friendly and the bakery is a clean pleasant facility. The bread is pretty good although rather expensive. The blueberry muffins however are the worst muffins I have ever experienced, they were wet, gummy and severely undercooked. I took one bite and threw it out . I actually had to get a coffee to get the raw dough/ sugar taste out of my mouth. My wife had a bran muffin and although she said it was edible, it wasn't anything she would order again.

A wonderful "mom and pop" bakery to get some interesting treats, different spins on lunch and great coffee. We've been here a few times for breakfast, lunch and just a coffee. Their bakery counter is very overwhelming when you walk in but don't be afraid! Having all of these options is a great thing and you'll get to try a bunch of new things when you keep coming back. They're are lots of different muffins, quiches, scones, and other sweet or healthy treats. Gluten free and vegan too for some. I've gotten a few different muffins (chocolate, blueberry and a raspberry one, as well as a spinach quiche... So far!) Lunches, again, a bit overwhelming for all of the different sandwich options but once you figure out the flavor you're in the mood for, you won't be disappointed. I've only had lunch once and it was a BBQ sauce turkey sandwich. Coffee here... WOAH! It's very flavourful, especially their cold brews, where if you bring the bottle back, you get a refill for $2. I'm very guilty of coming in a couple times a week... Oops! I like my coffee strong but not so strong that I'm sweating it all day out of my pores. Ridley's has a good sweet spot of potent coffee. I love coming here! The staff is so friendly too! Keep up the great work!

Ridley's is amazing! We have been loyal customers for 20+ years. The food is always excellent. Their gift baskets are very nicely done, and have been enjoyed by everyone we have sent them to. Their muffins are So good! Carl and his staff are always friendly and helpful. This is a local business well worth supporting!

1st of all, they have the best food Hands Down. Excellent customer service and very kind! Our company orders boxed lunches every so often and we have NEVER had a problem. I just ordered 13 boxed lunches for customers that were visiting our facility. We were supposed to have 3 veggie sandwiches in the order. Well, I didn't realize that I messed up the order online so when I called, Glenda jumped into action without asking any questions. When I picked up the 3 veggie sandwiches within half an hour, she showed me that I had entered the incorrect items without saying I screwed up. SHE STILL STOOD BEHIND IT. I felt silly for my mess up but, she was wonderful. I highly recommend this place! We will continue to use them for our customer meetings as well as personal use. Thank you all that work there. Very kind people. I wish there was one on my side of town. :) Tammy Marcoux

Still amazing after all these years. The products are fresh, dependable and staff is above and beyond which makes the delivery of these products taste even better. After all these years Ridleys still has its edge and continues to grow in the face of any national or local competitor. Hooray to Karl for maintaining the quality and having the gumption to stay closed on the weekends. This allows the optimum performance for all staff through each set of weekdays... Well done !!

If you love a locally owned restaurant that serves great salads and sandwiches and heavenly baked goods at great prices, this is the place to go. Tucked into the corner of a shopping center this place continues to amaze me with great food! Love this place and I've been coming here for a long time.

Recipient of a huge box of muffins and brownies,from an overly generous neighbor-after an illness. Everything tried, so far has been excellent! Huge muffins- very fresh. Brownies seem to weigh at least half a pound each.

I have been going to Ridley's for 29 years! I have loved their baked goods, soups, and sandwiches all that time....they are kind & wonderful to work with on events and catering. Eating in the bakery or at the tables outside in the summer is lovely...one of my favorites places in Troy! I wish their hours were better during the school year, but everything else is wonderful!

The baked goods are pretty good but not always fresh. The sandwiches and salads are not fresh. There is limited seating. Service is slow.

Highly disappointed Drove out on a Saturday, planned this all week with great anticipation and excitement, to find they are CLOSED on Saturday and Sunday!!!! What?!! Why?!! As I'm sitting here writing this review I've watched two more people walk up to the door with display the same disappointment. Ridley's - you missing out and losing a lot of business with these new hours. Best of luck to you - I hope things get better!

This place is so amazing; the staff, the food, the variety! Ridley's has been a friend and I's weekly stop for a little while now and not once have we been disappointed! We try a new and appetizing brunch every week and everything has been phenomenal! From tasty cold brew to savory sandwiches to flavorful various baked goods, this cafe is somewhere I'd recommend everyone try! You will leave in awe and look forward to your next visit. Upon my first purchase of the previously mentioned cold brew I was pleasantly surprised by the promotion of recycling. Informed that if returned, the adorable glass jars your cold brew is sold in, you will receive two dollars off your next cold brew as they will refill it! Pretty astounding!

Excellent service and delicious food. Locally owned and operated. They have tables to eat there or do carry out. They do wonderful food baskets that are very well wrapped and make wonderful gifts.

Unexpectedly stumbled upon this place casually looking for a place to grab breakfast. I had the egg croissant with a hazelnut Colombian roast black coffee. The egg croissant was surprisingly filling and very juicy. Yes JUICY. Likewise the croissant was very soft, warm, and fluffy. It was an incredible blend! Will definitely come back.

One of my suppliers had ordered lunch for my team from here a while back. They had packed sandwiches with chips in boxes, it was nicely packed. I had the tasty tuna with the albacore tuna on sour dough. They do bake their bread fresh every day. The bread was quite good as was the tuna.

Next to Rochester or downtown Detroit, this is by far one of the best local bakery's around. Top of the line food to their dough. Appreciate you!

Ridley's has a family atmosphere. Great bake goods, amazing sandwiches, different selections for meat eater and vegans alike. From the moment you walk in your greeted with a friendly smile no matter who helps you. Being a former business owner I know if you're getting that kind of service every time, that comes from training and management. You'll never regret the money spent here it's worth every penny.

Great food and service. Always go here when I return back to Michigan. Wish they where in Fort Myers....

I always forget about this place but I have never been disappointed coming here! If you like Panera but would rather put your money in a local business, you won't be disappointed plus I think their food is fresher and they offer different options.

Love the cookies. Tried to stop by today to place a gift ba$ket order for next week. Their hours aren't posted anywhere, even on the window of the store, and was rudely turned away at the door. "Order online. We're closed." Wow. Guess I'll be finding a new place. This makes me incredibly sad.

Haven't been here for a while and since it's close by, we should try it again! The menu was too overwhelming! I think less should be offered! I really enjoyed it many years ago when it was a bakery with no confusion of their real purpose of being there!

The atmosphere in this cafe is so bright, open, and cheerful. There are quite a few tables in there, but it is a very popular place, so they fill up quickly. There is a large variety of sandwiches, pastries, and soups to choose from - it is all made fresh from scratch, down to the croutons for the soup (which you can help yourself to by the napkin/silverware station)! They have some great lunch combos. The one I got was a sandwich, cup of soup, and choice of pastry for $10.95. I chose the strawberry chicken salad sandwich on Asiago bread, creamy chicken and wild rice soup, and apple cobbler muffin. The sandwich also came with a small side of coleslaw and a little chocolate chip cookie bar. What a great value! The sandwich was pretty good. You can taste the freshness of the chicken and it paired well with the strawberries. I do wish the Asiago bread was a little heartier...it also would've been great if the bread was toasted or grilled. I loved the soup - it had just the right amount of creaminess and the ingredients inside were all fresh. The muffin was also delicious, for the most part. It had a sweet crumb topping and slices of apple inside. It was almost like a Dutch apple pie. The inside of the muffin was a little dense and bland, however. The cookie bar was pretty good but nothing really stood out about it. There are so many more things on the menu that I'd like to try in the future. I will definitely be back!

Another one of our favorites to visit during our work week. Can go wrong with a lunch special! Greek Chicken Sandwich is the BEST!

Wow! Kinda hidden away, but clearly people know about this place. Stopped in for lunch with a friend and the place was bustling. We didn't have to wait long though, gave our order over the pastry case full of treats to a helpful gentleman and found a seat. The mushroom bisque was delicious and the sandwich was even better

What can I say. This is just a unique and amazing place for salad, sandwiches, AND SWEETS. It's not a chain like your panera's or subways. It's truly a locally ran business where you see the owner regularly involved - thats a very good sign. The inside is very nice and welcoming. The staff is very nice and can make the right recommendations for you based on what you like. Just make sure you grab something from the bakery. My recommendations are: The House Salad, i never thought I liked fruit in a salad until I had this. The Grilled New Yorker. The Grilled Chicken and Turkey Bacon Club. And PLEASE get something from the bakery. Their scones are always delicious but they tend to run out quick. The muffins are always onpoint.

This is hands down the best bakery/deli you will find in this area. I highly recommend the California chicken salad, dill pickle soup, pumpkin strudel muffin and fresh squeezed orange juice. Also, the customer service is incredible. Everyone was helpful, patient and nice. I'm very impressed with this place.

A local favorite that we order from frequently. The pick 2 is a great value with lots of great choices. Soups are made fresh and so good on a cold winter day. Always come home with a loaf of bread or muffins for the next day. Ho you will certainly enjoy!

I always stop here for coffee and a snack when I get my Nails done next door. I love their flavored coffees and fresh squeezed OJ. I usually stick to the same couple things so I havnt tried much of the menu, but I appreciate the service and what I've had so far.

Ordered Ridley's for a business meeting; blown away. We ordered for 15, and they delivered two trays of sandwiches, salads, fruit & cookies. Delivery was prompt and included all of the plates, napkins and utensils. Will use them again the next time the need arises.

I have been here for lunch recently and had an amazing tuna sandwich. In the past I have received gift platters full of pastries! They are huge and there is always some thing for everybody.

Oh snap dang wow!!! Ridley's Bakery Café never disappoints! I stopped in today and tried out their sandwich of the month - the Oriental Chicken Wrap. What a great wrap!! Excellent crunch from the veggies, jam packed with flavor, and chicken cooked to perfection. A+++. I wish I took a photo of it before to post on here, but I dove in too quickly and ate it before my camera came out. Thank you Olivia for the great service! Whether you're in the mood for a sandwich, salad, soup, baked good, or cup o' joe, you can always count on this place delivering you a fresh, homemade product that you will truly enjoy. I have tried nearly every sandwich/soup on this menu and I cannot thing of a negative thing to say about any of them. Service is always very friendly and quick. Definitely a hidden gem in Troy that's worth visiting for breakfast or lunch - highly recommend!

This restaurant was an awesome find! Tucked in the corner of a strip mall, you'll find this restaurant/cafe that serves amazing food and baked goods. They have plenty of parking and 2 entrances. You need to go up to the cold case to order. There are many options including combos that include anything from soups, salads, chips and a drink. The employees are quick and very helpful. I got the San Francisco Panini and it was the best veggie sandwich I've ever had. They have a really cool condiment area as well. You must try this place!

Best bakery in all of metro Detroit; and Michigan! My family and I have been going there for almost 10 years now! They have anything from scones, weekly muffin specials, smoothies & sandwiches. The morning muffin is my personal favorite- very hearty! The California chicken salad sandwich is a must have as well! The owner is always around- all of the staff there are very kind and caring! Definitely stop by if you are in the area!

Very friendly staff, lots of smiles. Even tho they were busy everything moved fast but at your own pace. Food was amazing. If you love sandwiches, this is a great place. They have great breads. Muffins were fresh and so filling! Very clean in the dining area with a very inviting atmosphere.

Bring back Saturday hours!!! This is a petition! Please like or add your own comment if you agree we need Ridley's to return to Saturday hours!! Said in love, we know the pandemic has wrecked havoc on everyone! But come on, it's Michigan and we need soup and cookies to get us through these winter weekends!!

This place is great very professional good clean food clean atmosphere they don't pressure you into anything they can be a little bit nicer but that's OK I'm not as sensitive as everyone else in the world is now. Like I said the food is good and always fresh and very clean so thank you see you soon.

I've first was introduced to Ridleys at a work meeting about 15 years ago, they've always had good quality and they are CONSISTANT! I would highly recommend. My favorite menu items are the grilled chicken/turkey bacon club and the Blueberry Scone.

I will not go back. I remember this place being super good. It was fast, but the food was not good. Nothing on the menu was appealing. I ordered something and requested all the ingredients I don't eat be removed (as in no cheese). Couldn't be done. So then I ordered another one, still no cheese (at the end I said, so also no cream cheese ...). My mom wanted the bowtie pasta salad, she said "oh. It's in the case...". First is it too much trouble to put the bowtie pasta salad (which was made with penne) on a plate? I'm not trying to be a snot, but I don't want to go to a restaurant and order a salad, only to see that it is prepackaged. I really would rather it not in a disposable gross container. She said the salad was just ok. Remember my specifics around the cheese on my sandwich? Yeah, neither did they. So when I took it back because there was cheese on it, the assembly person was really snippy saying "it's right". I said, "uh...no I asked for no cheese". She said, "no, you said no CREAM cheese". I didn't, I said no cheese and no cream cheese. I've been vegan for long enough to know people won't put together the pieces unless specifically instructed. Anyway, she took the sandwich back, pulled off the cheese (didn't remake it which is disgusting) and handed it back. The food wasn't good and the staff was rude. No thanks.

The aroma and visuals in this cozy cafe are very welcoming for 3 people looking for a quick lunch. Muffins and pastries look yummy. Carrot cheesecake muffin was very good. The New England clam chowder was very tasty. Disappointed with the grilled chicken Caesar salad.

I came into Ridley's Bakery Cafe the other day for lunch; I have lived in this area for years and have just never got around to trying out this fantastic lunch spot! I have seriously been missing out on their delicious food! I got the Panini Lowfat Cranberry Turkey Salad Delight which comes with a little side coleslaw and a sampling of a dessert! That dessert was a delightful addition to my meal - I believe it was some kind of blondie. It was the perfect sweet ending to my meal without feeling stuffed. The staff was friendly and my order was ready very quickly. They also had a full counter of various breakfast and lunch goodies - muffins, cookies, bars, and other breakfast/brunch foods. I definitely will return here again for a sandwich and possibly one of their raved about muffins!

I go here too often to let one bad experience jade me. The food and service here are generally spot on and I love the ambiance. Moreover, the one product I complained about in my previous review has since been redesigned. I don't know if it was because my experience, but if it was it is duly noted. Best place in troy to get an early morning treat and my go-to place when I want to show out-of-towners what Troy has to offer. Keep up the good work!

**UPDATING REVIEW (as of 11/19/18): The coffee they sell is Abeantogo Coffee Roaster based in Lake Orion. It's delish. --- MICHIGAN'S BEST CONSISTENT BAKERY AND CAFE. EVER. (And would you PLEASE open one in Rochester, please?) OK, I don't give 5 stars unless there is a total WOW factor. And this place consistently WOWS me. *Service: Overall good about sincerely greeting everyone that walks in through the door as they're working behind the counter. We're regulars, and they anticipate our orders each time - it's actually pretty funny for us because they ask if we want the same thing. It is nice to be known and have personal service. They will deliver your food to your table if it's not ready to be served after you've paid. The manager is always helpful and makes you feel welcome. *Products: Soups, sandwiches, salads, quiches, baked goods, and coffee have been tested. FRESH, WHOLESOME, flavorful, and delicious. They serve Cadillac Coffee, and it's always fresh, and they won't decline refills. Muffins and cookies are as big as your face that you can eat half and feel full. Be prepared to be overwhelmed with the choices, so look online at the menu so you're not holding up the line when you're ordering across the counter. Top favorites are the Marathon Bread, Marble Rye Bread, Freak Out Cookies, cherry anything (cookies, bread, especially the Cherry Almond muffins, and rolls), and Very Berry Streusel muffins. Muffins are so moist and tender, it's crazy. Their "Day Young" products at an amazing discount ($1.99) are just as good. Snatch those if they have them. *Condiment station: The condiment station is so unreal that it has to be seriously noted: any condiment you want - they basically have - especially the line of hot sauces. They have house-made croutons which are YUMMY: light and crunchy, full of herb flavor - perfect over soups and salads. REAL butter chips are held in an insulated cold bucket to stay fresh. Every sweetener available: agave, honey packets, honey bear squeeze bottle, raw sugar, and I could go on. Self-serve beverage dispenser for complimentary water that's infused with fruit!? Um, yeah... they are total foodies in that way. *Atmosphere: Decor is whimsy, bright, fun; and huge glass windows for natural lighting. Feels energetic. They usually have a variety of music piping over the speakers at a decent level. Seating is maxed to 40 which makes it quaint and personal. And during the summers, they have live music on the patio with seating. Restroom is spacious, and always stocked and clean. *Of note: Come 6-9am for the buy 3 get 1 free for muffins, cookies and scones. Join their Rewards Club and email list for great deals besides the 5% you get back for each purchase on the loyalty card. They're closed on Sundays because it makes good business sense to take care of their employees by honoring the Sabbath which may give reason why the employees seem happy. Free wi-fi, and parking is totally accessible. Also Nordstrom Cafe at Somerset Mall serves their products because Nordstrom knows quality and service too, so Ridley's is the perfect match to benefit both brands. Keep it up, Ridleys and please come to ROCHESTER!

My first visit today. New to the area and my realtor recommended the Cafe. No doubt I will make a return visit. It was delicious!!!!!!

Randomly found this place via a search for a lunch spot and I have been a huge fan since! First week, I had it three times! What's really great is you can order online from two different applications and pay in advance so when you get there, its ready to go, no need to stand in line and order/ pay. The first time I ordered (via a third party site; don't bother with that though, go directly to Ridley's website and order that way, no fees!), Ridley's had a hard time deciphering my order or making it when they said it would be ready, but I think they got confused with the third party site. Either way, they apologized and the food was awesome! Turkey garden club sandwich on amazing grain bread, with a side of coleslaw and some kind of sugar- topped cake and baked lays for $9. Won me over right there. I continued to order online through their site and never had another issue! Got there, food was ready, took all of 5 minutes in store. They also have a small, dine- in area but its usually packed during lunch hours. Ridley's also has a full bakery you can order cakes, muffins, bagels, etc. Place is amazing. Its now my go- to for lunch; its about the same cost per day as it would cost me to buy groceries and make my own lunch, but its waaaay better. They also deliver! AND they have a rewards program that I haven't gotten into yet but I will! Highly recommend this place. Only missing one star due to the confusion on the first experience and parking/ dining in can be a hassle due to size of location but overall great!

There's no better bakery/cafe in the area. I've never had a bad experience, and you can't go wrong with anything. I recommend the San Francisco grill panini and the gardenburger. The lunch muffins are also enough for an entire meal. They run out quickly though. I've gotten there before lunch and the spinach and feta muffin already all out. It can also get really busy during lunch though, so try and come a little before noon or after 12:30 if possible. And you'll probably be better off getting a carryout order. Even if you don't order a side, the sandwiches come with a bit of coleslaw and a piece of bread, which is actually a little too sweet for my taste buds, but nice that they offer it. I haven't been here in the morning yet. That's my next trip!

Bad sandwich. Dry, tasteless and hard. Ate maybe 3 bites. Impolite service talked to me like I was stupid when I asked about the different bread choices. Will not recommend.

I eat here too often to not write a review. Ridley's takes pride in the quality of their ingredients and all items on the menu are reflective of that. Best muffins I have ever had (best bakery around, in general), not to mention some of the best deli sandwiches around (highly recommend the Turkey Garden Club on lavash). Even the coffee is as good as you'll find. The staff is attentive and timely. Carl always takes time to say hi to his customers even at the busiest of times. Simply put, in my opinion, the way a business should be run. Ridley's folks, thanks for your consistency and delicious food!

I've had their catered box lunches several times, and they are always really carefully packed! The sandwiches (turkey/chicken breast) are fresh and carefully wrapped, it comes with a fruit bowl with lots of fresh cut fruit, and chips and a large cookie. They always remember to place utensils, napkins, and condiments in each box as well.
