Yelp
We read the reviews and were planning to avoid dining here, but Benihana had no availability and the Asian Kitchen place was closed, so we decided, "what the heck." With the expectation of supermarket sushi, 90% rice, poor service, etc., we were pleasantly surprised! Yes, there was a bit more rice and a little less of the fish than we were used to at fine sushi restaurants, but the quality of was good. We removed some of the rice and otherwise enjoyed ourselves.
There were 15 rolls to choose from (https://dlq00ggnjruqn.cloudfront.net/documents/getDocument?id=9858&_ga-ft=1XOje4.0.0.0.0.208DsC0-1OpPZHc.0.0), and we had the spider, lemon land, shrimp & avocado, swingers (twice), royal flush, and dragon. We enjoyed the taste and quality of all of them, and were used to the quality sushi you'll find in So Cal. The miso soup was ok, a little watered down, and the Mochi ice cream was typical of store-bought, but we were there for the sushi, and it delivered.
Ming was out waiter, and he was very attentive. He guided us to his preferred rolls, brought ponzu sauce in addition to soy sauce (he said the soy sauce was too salty, and we agreed. Maybe it is full sodium, and we've been used to low sodium?), and it went better with the sushi, in my opinion. My wife was fine with the soy sauce in smaller quantities.
For $33 each, a good value and a good meal in a pleasant, uncrowded environment.
