Riko's Kickin Chickin

Originally ordered through Uber eats. But due to the chicken being burned I had to email them a photo then I took it back when I got off. ( since the cook was in the background saying he didn’t burn any chicken I had proof). I ordered 7 lemon pepper 7 honey hot. But took it all back had to constantly ask the lady to redo the honey hot even though she kept saying wasn’t anything wrong with the honey hot and she just going to redo the lemon pepper. But I never touched my whole order due to how the lemon pepper wings looked… but at the end overall she corrected the order and I was satisfied! Wings are way bigger and better so I would be back again I just won’t order through online delivery I’ll do in person ordering .

The first time I went,the staff was nice,I didn't have to wait long for my food I ordered the 10 piece all flat wings with seasoned fries very delicious and full of flavor

Food good. Customer service very poor. No one was rude, but everyone very unconcerned. I placed my order at 11:40, didn’t get my food until 1:15. That’s a long wait. The whole time I sat there, kids just standing around scrolling their phones. Truth be told, if it was a white establishment, they would’ve said sorry for the wait, your order will be ready soon, may I offer you something to drink? Those kids looked straight past me. This is what makes me not want to deal with black owned because nobody cares, they just want the money. I will never go back. Zero stars. I don’t care how good the food is at any restaurant, people still want to be treated right. And the kids at the front should care more about their appearance. Clothes looked raggedy and not professional. They need uniforms.

My first time. This restaurant was recommended by a regular customer who frequents here. The experience was bad from the time we walked in the restaurant. There was no greeting. No other customers were in the restaurant. The cashier was rude. We felt rushed while trying to review the menu. Didn’t get any answers to the few questions we had just blank stares. We ordered anyway. The “regular customer” suggested that we try the fried broccoli. I didn’t like it. My friend ordered the catfish sandwich combo and I ordered the turkey burger. I’m not sure what type of turkey patty was used; what I do know is that it was terrible! I posted pics of the half that I didn’t bite! Didn’t get pics of the catfish because it was already in the trash! The drive from the restaurant to get home was about 10 mins. The food had already started to smell bad by the time we got home!! Maybe this was an off night 🤷🏽‍♀️

5 wings took 40+ minutes, fries were soggy AF and way undercooked. By far the worst wing spot in the city. Flavor was 2 out of 10.

Unfortunately didn’t get my food or my refund. Talking to UberEats was pointless. Because they said since I canceled it on my end even though I was instructed to since they said they couldn’t on their end. I have always ordered this way but today I went they saying it’s for party wings. But I’ve been there like two other times and got whole wings they were also decent size. So now I have no choice but to dispute it with my bank since I paid for food I didn’t get it. Talked to the manager she said they won’t pay her but UberEats saying they will. So unfortunately I left with nothing but disappointment. She said they probably gave me whole wings because they were smaller but nah they looked big to me. She did try to help nothing could be done. Nothing for the inconvenience when it’s they site that was wrong. Update : I have ordered that way a few times recently and never had that problem. You’ll could have canceled but didn’t want that Uber eats rating to change. You NEVER said I wouldn’t get a refund. But I will forever be blessed because I don’t do business that way ! It should say party wings if that’s the case. But however it didn’t. So you’ll stay blessed ! Like who would even cancel a $42 order if they knew for a fact they wasn’t getting a refund or food ..

Ordered through Door Dash. Food was mid. Nothing stood out. My co worker and I ordered. the chicken wings which were soggy. Broccoli was too salty. Portions were small… Don’t think we will order again. Oh, We’ve tried them a couple of times in the past.

These honey gold wings never disappoint. I order these for pickup, and the food is always on time. Price is fair for wings, too.

Our team members ordered a group order from this location on 02/27/25. The fries were old and undone. The food had no condiments on it and the order itself was inaccurate. The burgers had no seasoning. We contacted the store because we did spend a pretty good amount of money. They put me on hold for over 15 and never came back and hung up on me. I reached out to them online and they were unapologetic. It was just bring the food back and we will remake it. We sent pictures of the food. We were also on lunch. The order was for multiple people. If we brought it back later, how would the people get their food after work. The owner is usually professional and I asked was she there. They said no manager was available. The burger was pink inside. Tomatoes not done. Fries were disgusting. I attached the fish they advertised vs the fish we got.

This is a place way out of our neighborhood but oh so worth the drive. MAN,it was freakin delicious. Like the burger was seasoned well. Not overly salty n not a cheap tasting burger. It was a hand patty; my fav kind. N the fries.. I didnt forget.. krinkle cut sprinkled wit seasoning.. Again.. my favorite kind out side of sweet potatoe frie.. honestly i luv potatoes but backkkkk 2 this here burger/fry n wing lunch... Lettuce discuss the wings.. if u follow me,u know chicken n i have a love / hate relationship. I luv it if cooked right or my body hates me for trying it. Its a thin line, ummmkay. Mane, dez damn wangs were freaking perfect. I'm in lust.. like imma have 2 have them again the same exact way as they were today.. CLAUDE, they were delicious.. i got hot honey garlic fried a lil longer.. they make me wanna travel for da food..

Idk idk idk. I issue with spending my money and being given something other than what I ordered without consent. This is rude and unprofessional. I ordered "Big Chicken." What I got is NOT what I ordered in more than one capacity. Do better. Service was eh, but the food was fresh. 2/3 pieces anyway. Not somewhere I'll be going again more than likely. Can't recommend in good conscience.

So I saw a few pictures on their Instagram page and decided that I wanted to try them soon. Saturday the hubby was out and hungry, so we stopped in. This is a small location on Madison, but they pack a lot of flavor! We had the Super Deal. It comes with 10 Party Wings, Fries, 2 Beverages, plus an additional 10 wings for free! We paid $15! I had the Hot Lemon Pepper and hubby had the Regular Hot. This was my first time having lemon pepper on traditional hot wings and I must say that it is delicious. The regular hot wings are good, but that lemon pepper gave it an extra kick that makes for a perfect combination. The staff was very friendly. I loved the music that they were playing. We dined in and had a great experience. We can't wait to go back!

The food was a 10/10. The service was an 11/10. Chicken wings were on point! The catfish was well seasoned and crispy! You can't go wrong with anything that you order. Ps.... I'm waiting for y'all to bring one to Birmingham!

1st time at this establishment. I can say that this is a great place to go and get your wing fix..

I went here for lunch with my nephew and found that they were very friendly. My nephew ordered the Xtra Hot wings, but he didn't think they were that hot. They might've went kinda easy on him. I ordered the grilled shrimp tacos. The 2 tacos were good, but kinda small. I also got a basket of loaded fries, which were good too.

Great customer service. Food was really good. Easy to find with free parking in the lot next door . Desserts were the best especially the banana pudding.

I decided to try this spot after following them On Instagram and reading the reviews on here. I called ahead to place our order and asked if the lunch special were actually party wings or whole wings cut in half. I was told that indeed the wings were whole wings and were cut in half for the party wing. I proceeded to place an order. Upon my arrival I received party wings (anorexia wings). I order lemon pepper and honey mustard. The lemon pepper wings which were wet (yuck) I asked for dry; were really SALTY aNd the fries were salty and over cooked as well. I was highly disappointed.

This place is place is not hyped enough!! I follow them on Facebook and finally got a chance to try them out. I ordered through UberEats for pickup and got the two piece honey hot dipped fish with broccoli and cheese, the hot Buffalo wing boil, and the fried lobster tail. Everything was so amazing can't wait to go back!

Wow! The regular seasoned chicken is some of the best chicken I have ever eaten! The skin was crispy, chicken was juicy and the flavor was outstanding, without overpowering the chicken. The honey gold sauce is delicious as well. I got fries, roll, leg and a thigh for under $6.00--talk about value; especially, in an age where everyone is overcharging for food. The service was friendly, helpful and engaging. They also have wings, burgers, po-boys, sandwiches and desserts I cannot wait to go back!

These may be the worst wings I've ever had! What's wrong with Memphis? I went in liking the place. The servers were extra friendly. They explained that they don't up charge for premium sides like fried green tomatoes. The bathroom was one of the cleanest I've ever seen in my life. That blue lemonade was awesome! The loaded fries and fried green tomatoes were pretty good, even though they could be better. My problem was that after waiting 15 minutes for our wings, they were served straight from the refrigerator! We sent them back, and they came back only warm in about 5 minutes. Then they were overcooked and dry. Here is my theory. They cook large batches of wings while they're slow. They store them in the refrigerator. When they get ordered, they pull some out of the fridge and drop them back in the fryer to warm them up. Then they get sauced to order. In our case, they forgot to warm them up before saucing them. The sauce was just ordinary store bought buffalo and it wasn't hot. Sad excuse for hot wings.

The restaurant itself doesn't look very clean and that wouldn't matter if the food made up for it but it didn't. The girl at the cash register also got my order wrong even though I stood right in front of her to place it. I got their fried tacos and they were sad. Each taco had 2-3 tiny shrimps on it and the rest was filler. Way, way too salty to try and cover up the taste of bad shrimp. Their chicken taco was also too salty and full of filler instead of actual meat.

This food is incredible. We used them to provide wings, and sides, for a co-worker's birthday lunch. We had multiple seasonings, and each one seemed better than previous. It was so good, that I went to the restaurant in person to eat lunch the very next day. I was not disappointed. The food was even better than the day before. Additionally, I had the lemmon cake, which was amazing. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the wait time. I probably waited 30 minutes after ordering, before getting my food. If you are in a hurry, or on lunch brake, I suggest calling in your order. I will definitely be back.

Last night was my second visit. The owners daughter (Marianna) I'm familiar with from my work at Catholic High School. She's always on me to stop by. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of what I purchased (sad face). It was the BOGO 10pc, 1/2 honey gold, 1/2 hot, Family fries and 2 drinks. $16.99? By the time I got it home and in the house it was attacked and devoured. Lol. I will say I just finished 4 of the hot wings for breakfast though. I highly recommend this stop if you're anywhere in or near midtown or downtown Memphis. I also believe they participate in the various delivery services such as bitesquad and others.

I have never ate inside the establishment only the food truck or they catered for work. F.Y.E. They are really, really good. As I get older, I appreciate people who serve wings and filets together. This food is great.

I too am surprised at their rating not being in the tank. Food sucks!! I had a burger the first time which wasn't horrible but certainly not great. Second time was the soggiest wings I've ever had. Don't waste your time.

I recently moved to the area and a co-worker of mine recommended Riko's. Chicken is my thing so I was a little skeptical at first, but when I tried the lemon pepper wings and that fish, ooooh chile! Just the right amount of seasoning and cooked just right. I will definitely become a faithful customer!!!

So i usually go to and get my hot wings only from Riko's. I stay on Hacks cross and travel to Madison ave. The wings are so good. But the customer service I received today was absolutely awful!!!! So this young lady took my order i ordered a ten piece whole wing Got my order it was a ten piece party wing . I get out of my car immediately and inform the young lady this is not what I asked for. She got mad and raised her voice at me and told me this is what I ordered! So I said again I didn't order that. The cook comes out and says you will have to pay extra which is fine I knew that. My order came up she showed me it was fine . I reached for the pan and she had my bag I stated you can hand me the bag. This lady threw the bag at me! She was ABSOLUTELY RUDE. I WON'T BE BACK!

ordered chicken salad for take out. first of all portions are huge! which was awesome. service was nice but it took awhile before my order came out. while the portions were huge, the chicken was lackluster... it wasn't marinated very well and had a lot of chewy bits in it. good value for the money though.

Riko's Kickin Chicken has recently become my favorite spot to grab delicious wings in Memphis. They have amazingly priced wing specials and the wings are delicious and cooked to order. The wings are crispy and well sauced with a variety of flavors and flavor combinations to choose from. My mom ordered the fish when we went together and it was delicious. You can also get the fish prepared in the same sauce choices as the wings. My mom and I also shared a red velvet butter cake and it was decadent and delicious. We also ared a broccoli and cheese side, and while it was too salty for me, the flavor was nice. Finally, the owners of this restaurant were in the restaurant when we visited and they absolutely lovely people. I look forward to going back to Rikos soon!

I stumbled across Riko's a little bit by accident but wow, am I glad I did. Riko's is on a quiet stretch of Madison Ave. sandwiched between the Medical District and Midtown. The sign is really unassuming and the place is small, but you honestly can't beat the value! I got the 4 piece (2 thighs, 2 legs) for $3.99 (!!!) and some fried okra. The chicken also came with a roll and a drink (!!!). I honestly paid around $7 for a bomb meal. And I think the chicken is as good as Gus's tbqh. This is some real value. Also, they're super friendly!! I was so happy to discover Riko's and I would really recommend it to anyone!

Very disappointed in my party wings/fries order. I believe that I did not get a fresh order. I have ordered before with no problem. Both were cooked hard and I questioned cashier about fries looking so hard and she assured me it was the seasoning that made them look that way. Drove all the way from Whitehaven so I wasn't going to take them back. Riki's can do better!!

The food was awesome and seasoned well! Very gracious staff and speciality signature drink. Highly recommend for a quick city bite!

10/10 the fried chicken is sooooo good. Seasoned or dipped its so good. The chicken legs are also HUGE! The ooey gooey cake. Just stop. You can't find better. I'd push my mom down to get the last piece of ooey gooey cake. I ordered from a food delivery service. They didn't have some of what unordered so they called. The lady I spoke to was so nice. Delicious wings and cooked right. A little pricier than I expected, but good wings are priceless I reckon. I'll definitely be back!

First and last time ordering from them. Nothing kicking about it. Ordered lunch and food took 2hrs and was cold. No carrots or celery or dipping sauce or napkins. HORRIBLE customer service from so called manager. She was rude and argumentative. Try to support black business this is how your treated.

This was my first time here and I was impressed with the quality of food and I also believe the prices for what you get are excellent. I had the shrimp burger and it took a little longer to get but very worth the wait. The seasoning was on point and they didn't skimp on the shrimp. I had shrimp in every bite. There isn't much sitting on the inside but there are table and chairs for dining in. A small parking lot so I can imagine being difficult to park during peak hours. I'm looking forward to trying the wings. And also the fried green tomatoes. They were out on my visit. If you like great burgers I highly recommend this place! Fries were even decent and oh how could I forget about the pickle! I absolutely loved the pickle lol.

OMG! Hands down to ground this place has the BEST Chicken WINGS in MEMPHIS. If you go,try to do so on a Wednesday because it's buy one get one free. The meat seems to be season to the bone? There is this young lady at the register,she is always happy and very friendly.My sis and I been there 2 Wednesday's in a row and she has been the same sweet young lady and the food still remains very delicious. I got the lemon pepper wings and chewed to the bone! If you ever go sit by the window because there are some interesting things you could see.I saw a rainbow hair red body painted devil roller skating right pass the window waving his boney ass off! I went on back to eating my wings which were super uber duper Delicious with a capitol D. This is such a positive gem in Memphis I almost didn't want to share...lol! Check this one out. Oh! If you are in a rush go to their website and order ahead and just pick up. Also Park on the side of the building that has a gate around it. Bloop Bloop!

The 4wing combo comes with 1 side and a drink for $9.99. Great custom service from the lady at the counter and the guy who ran the food out. The wings were hot, fresh, and flavorful! We will definitely be back.

I wanted to really good finger licking wings. They are in my area and I thought I should give them a try especially since they are BOB! They are located on a rather busy part of Madison so parking was really difficult. The chicken was good but it was rather salty. The bacon cheese fries are the best I have ever had in my life. Would I go back? yes, but not for the chicken, only the fries.

Riko's should be on everyone's list of top hot wings in Memphis. Shoot. Best FOOD in Memphis. That fried okra?! *chefs kiss* and that's coming from a self-proclaimed fried-okra snob. Been on them for years so I've had all the flavors but the classic hot, honey (hot OR gold), and that damn Jamaican Jerk!!? Make you wanna slap somebody. Bones don't break when you pull the flats apart, drums got good meat on them. Definitely in my top 2.

This is one of if not the worst overall experiences I have ever had in trying a new restaurant. I ordered a shrimp po-boy combo( drink and a side). The shrimp, all 4 of them, came on a hamburger bun not a po-boy bun. The onion rings I had ordered as my side were leaden with grease And I did not receive my drink. I used grub hub ( never again). The promised phone call from the manager to rectify the situation never came.

Finally got to try this place and I already can't wait to go back. Ordered the 2 piece catfish dipped in honey hot sauce with Kickin fries and I absolutely loved it! I've never had sauce on my catfish but I don't plan on having it any other way or from anywhere else. The best catfish I've ever had in my life! I can't wait to become a regular because the service was just as great as the food. 10 Stars! They deserve more than 5.

These wings were the most underwhelming wings I've ever had. I am just happy I went there on a special buy 10 get 10 free. The wings are super tiny (the party wings). I got extra hot and hot lemon pepper. Both lacked flavor. Fries are bad also. They charge $16.50 for a ten piece. I'm giving a 1 star because of the chess pie. It was ok, tastes a bit floury.

Best wings I have had since Donald Crump was making his own recipe down at Alfred's on Beale in the late 90's. Addictive. Wanted to lick the plate. No breading, sauce to die for (the Hot sauce was our fave), celery and carrots drenched in sauce were yum.

I love Riko's Kickin Chicken! The best wings in the city ! Great customer service, the restroom is spotless, I've never seen a restroom like that especially when the restaurant is super busy. I highly recommend this place.

They haven't let me down yet! I'm always on a quest to find hot wings comparable to Ching's Hot Wings ( the mecca for me), and these hit pretty close to the bull's eye. Honey hot flavor is a little bit more ketchup-y (?) just a bit different, but it's hot and sweet. Whole wings here which is a requirement for me. Fries are okay, bleu cheese is fine, and on the days where I don't care about my sugar intake I'll get one of their sugary punches! Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to some hyperglycemia. I haven't been here when it's been totally slammed (I usually come around 4pm or so, not peak dinner or lunch hour) and I don't have to wait very long which I like. Parking is limited but not impossible, small side lot on one side of the building. Keep doing what you're doing, Riko's!

Omg!!!!!! This is by far the best chicken that I have had in Memphis! I'm truly addicted and I must have them at least once a week! I find myself craving the Lemon-Pepper Hot. The prices are perfect! The customer service is Absolutely Awesome! I haven't tried the entire menu yet, but my goal is to do so!!! Everything that I have had so far has been Delicious! I hope that they continue to provide the best tasting chicken & food with the most reasonable prices around. If so...they have a life long customer in me! Thank you Riko's Kickin Chicken! Memphis needed you!

As a black man, I say this with my chest, this is why it's so hard to support black businesses. I walked in, kinda looking forward to the wings since I'm new to the downtown area. Apparently you have to know the owner to get your food when you order it. Lovely couple came in 10 minutes after me and somehow got their food first. I'm assuming it's because the male customer yelled out to the owner and they exchanged a warm welcome, as well as them receiving their food for free and waaaaaaay before me. I sat there for 15, then 20, ultimately 35 minutes before actually receiving a thing. And when I did.....all I can say is steroid chicken is not good at all. I'm disheartened cause as a black man, I wanted to support this black owned business. I spent my money. Paid for extra everything cause apparently they charge you just to sweat in the building. The flavors on the menu are different and that was very welcoming, but the overall service and experience? Yeaaaaaah it's a no for me dawg **randy voice**. Maybe they would be good if they actually fried your steroid chicken hard like you ask. To each it's own, but I've had one visit and that'll be my only one. I honestly wish I wasn't forced to give this review any stars but hey. 1 to put my true feelings doesn't hurt.

The prices here are extremely reasonable and the food was really good. Matt was extremely helpful and made sure that we well taken care of. His customer service was top notch!!! We tried the fried green tomatoes and the broccoli and cheese, both were amazing. Matt suggested we try the Jamaican Jerk seasoning and it did not disappoint. My husband had the honey gold seasoned wings and they were delicious as well. We took advantage of their buy one get one free 10 pc party wings and they were a good size. My son had the boneless seasoned wings and they were CHUNKS of seasoned white breast meat!! We couldn't leave without giving the dessert a try. We had the chess squares and they too were amazing!!! Extremely casual atmosphere and extremely good food. Not a place to really eat inside, but there are a few tables if you choose to.

I was extremely impressed with the customer service I received at Riko's! That alone made the experience worth while. Oh, and the food was bomb! Can't wait to go back and try more menu items.

Good flavors, fried right with crisp skin. Onion rings were VERY soggy, not fried right, and the corn nuggets were plain and the order was very small. Not good enough to put on a regular stop list.

The worst hot wings I've ever had IN MY LIFE and I mean the worst. The wings were so soggy and undercooked. If you want a good ole fashioned, unprofessional, sub par experience, this is the place for you. The chicken was like biting into a Turkey wing or leg, as if they chickens ate steroids for breakfast lunch and dinner and I absolutely hate chicken like that. I will NEVER eat at this steroid chicken joint again. We came in ordered our food, and proceeded to wait. A couple came in about 15 minutes AFTER we ordered our food and ordered food for themselves. In the midst of ordering their food the owner Riko who was cooking the food proceeded to insist on getting their ticket and personally tending to their food. He cooks their food and gets it to them BEFORE his paying customers who were there a full 15-20 minutes before his friends. Ended up waiting around 40 minutes for my food. Just for the food to be TERRIBLE. This is what happens when u support Black Owned Businesses in Memphis. Totally Distasteful and unprofessional.

Highly disappointed in this place. The wings were not good. The honey hot tasted the same as the regular hot and taste might be to strong of a word it was like a hint of flavor very bland. Instead of celery they use cucumbers which is fine but don't set it on top of my fries the fries tasted just like the oil the chicken and fish were cooked in plus cucumbers not very appetizing. I really wanted to like this place just dont honest review

If I could give a negative I would!!! I sent my food back because my wings wasn't hot and the turkey burger was a frozen patty!!! The owner came to the counter to argue with me because the food was nasty!!! Who does that? You run a business and you're far from professional! Do not waste your time. This business won't last long! Trust me!

The wings were pretty good, though I cant say the same about the fries or the nearly 45 min wait. There was also a really strange vibe. The staff was very polite too all the customers besides me for some reason. Well I gave them a tip in an empty tip jar anyways. Probably wouldn't go back.
