El Rinconcito Latino Review - Coral Way - Miami - The Infatuation

"This Cuban spot on the west side of Coral Way not only serves the largest vaca frita we've found in Miami, but it's also one of . It takes up an entire oblong plate—the rice and beans actually have to be plated separately because they can’t fit on the same dish. Generous portions apply to many of the dishes here. They are huge, and so is the restaurant. It's a great place to come with your family for dinner and sit at one of their comfortable booths, or dine solo at the counter for a quick lunch. Google
I ordered chicken chunks. Chicharrón de pollo. Which I have ordered before from other Cuban and Latin restaurants. What I received was Fried skin, there is no chicken inside of the little fried pieces of nothing. Extremely disappointing. Seems like They are just trying to make a buck and sending out garbage. I ordered this on Uber eats. I got my money back and called the restaurant, they were not apologetic. They said that I received what I received because it was a deal. Ordering a deal does not mean give me your garbage and disguise it as chicken chunks. Adding pictures

Visited the spot twice. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, going above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. The freshness of the ingredients was truly impressive. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and you could taste the quality in every bite.

I’ve been coming here for years and this Latin restaurant is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. It’s the last place you would think you’re going to get great food. But the prices are about half of what you would pay on Lincoln Road for the same quality. If you want a huge menu with lots of variety. This is a great neighborhood restaurant.. Here’s the downside …. Many restaurants seem to think that customers want TVs blaring Bachata on 11 while you tried to talk with your friend or date? It’s low class and obnoxious. You would never see this in Europe or normal American cities where people respect each other’s space. People go to restaurants to have conversations and shouldn’t have to yell. It’s a restaurant….. not a nightclub?

Had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the food was delicious. Gloria, our waitress, was friendly and attentive, making the whole evening even better. Highly recommend for great food and excellent service—I'll definitely be back!

Google
I only order 1 thing quite often on uber eats for my son who loves the vaca frita but every time i go get my order its never ready even if i go later than the time it says. The service is horrible! 3 women at the window can look at me in my face but not have the decency to say “ill be right there or give me a minute” they just continue to talk like a customer isn’t there.. multiple times where they say my order isn’t ready then make me wait and apparently never saw my bag with my name which was right behind them the whole time.. i never wrote a review but today i picked up my food and received someones left overs as well.. that’s disgusting! the lady on the phone said “this happens sometimes with our uber orders it gets mistaken for the other plates” im sorry what? Idk what their procedures are for discarding leftovers but i can understand if i mistakenly got someone else’s order but leftovers?? To my understanding people’s leftovers should get thrown out as soon as they are done…

Google
The food was so delicious and so reasonable priced. You get a good amount too!

Yelp
I ordered 2 pupusas 1 de queso and 1 de chicharrone and 1 order of Caldo de res . Everything was very delicious and tasted very fresh. The flavor was . I was feeling under the weather and the Caldo helped me feel better. I would definitely order food from here again.

Yelp
My go to place for a meal when I'm pinching Pennie's or want something flavorful. Portions are great and no matter what you get it's delicious. The curry chicken was spicy but it hurt so good! I even have co workers ordering for lunch

Yelp
This is a solid place for quick Latin food. NOTE: I've only Uber Eats and never physically been to the location The menu offered a wide variety of Latin dishes, from the style of rice, beans, skirt steak, chicken, and sides. The reason this place gets a 3 is because the food flavors are inconsistent. Some orders are flavorful and delicious, some orders are bland. Now the food packaging needs work. If a majority of you sales come from UberEats the food packaging can be so flimsy that once delivered the foam backing is crumbled or open, or the only barrier for your food is a double knot plastic bag. This place has potential and I will continue to roll The dice ordering with them through UberEats!

Yelp
Best pupusas that I've ever had honestly. The salad and the sauce I mean everything is great!!

Yelp
Really delicious lunch! Doesn't look like much from the outside, right next to a convenience store, but wow it delivered! Super fast service, big portions and ice cold beer :) We stopped here for lunch before we went to SuperBlue (just a few blocks away) and was a perfect start to a couple hours in the museum. Really great spot, highly recommend.

Yelp
Food not as advertised. Not the best experience. Chicken soup was ok but not the paella with lobster.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago and already visited three or four times since. The restaurant's location is a bit awkward as it's the only brick and mortar business in a residential area but they also offer delivery. I strongly suggest this spot, especially for lunch as they have really good lunch specials for $7.99. Usually most establishments only have 3 or 4 options on their lunch specials, well Rinconcito Latino has 26 options! I tried the arroz con pollo, the chicken noddle soup, the churrasco, pollo a la plancha, and Lechon asado. All absolutely delicious with the exception of the churrasco. Don't like any of these options? No worries they have a huge menu. The amount of food is incredible for the price and good taste.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Great prices and quality food. I love my Spanish food and some places lack spices and that home made flavor.. you can tell lol ! I was hungover and ordered from here one time and fell in love with it! Recently I order the bistec de palomilla dish that came with rice, beans, salad and then I ordered soup and empanadas! Yes I had the munchies and needed the comfort home made food ASAP! This place has all those flavors and nothing overly done, the beans are my favorite, taste like mom made them. Don't change la receta please :) Their on DoorDash!

Yelp
Ordered two items through Uber Eats. The combo brought the wrong plantains. We ordered fried plantains and they sent tostones. The second item was a large chicken soup. The soup never arrived. They blamed it on the Uber driver. So delivery fee, taxes, tip, etc is never returned. Uber only returns the minimum. Order here at your own risk.

Yelp
Love this place! Prices are fair and food is delicious. Also, best cafe con leche around!

Yelp
We were staying nearby and Rinconcito was in walking distance. SO GLAD we stumbled upon this place. It was hopping with business both dine in and carry out. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even a regular stepped up and offered to help with translation. (Which was not needed as our waitress spoke plenty of English). We got the Cuban sandwich which was okay. The stars of our meal were the bean and cheese papusas and steak quesadilla. Both were delicious. Great portion sizes for the price. Building/place itself is fairly bare bones but the food and staff made up for it. 10/10 would return, might come back this trip for more!

Yelp
This place is a total triple diamond. Food was beyond amazing. The pork was out of this world, croquettes were soft and tasty, rice was steaming hot, platano sweeeet but my favorite was the oxtail stew. OMG. Kill me now. Best I have ever had. Don't think twice about coming here. Amazing.

Yelp
4 stars for the food and value. 3 stars for the service issues. 3.5 all around. Have worked nearby for 14 years but only came upon Rinconcito last summer on a Sunday search for cafe. Walked in and could not believe my eyes. The inside of this place is a different world compared to its exterior! It's like a hidden gem. Very clean and modern-looking. Not huge but roomy enough. I've been going and introducing others to the place ever since. Rinconcito serves Latin food, moreso leaning towards Cuban flavors. I've had the oxtails (fall-off-the-bone tender; very savory albeit a tad salty), beef stew (cooked perfectly with carrots), and picadillo (very good version). The white rice is always fluffy & buttery and the black beans can stand on their own as a soup. So good. Various companions have ordered the creole shrimp and have all been highly impressed. Had a friend order the grilled salmon, which took forever and came out very dry as it was cooked on the flat-top. I've only seen the fried fish but it looks amazing!! Have to give it a try one day. All kinds of beverages but the fresh juices get me every time! Can't decide a favorite between the passion fruit juice and limeade (served as a frozen drink). I'd go every day just for the juices, if I could. Seems like their popularity is picking up, which is impacting service levels. It's hard to go there for lunch because it takes almost a full hour between receiving the food and waiting for the check then going to pay. There's usually 3 people working lunch but the front-line staff is duplicating efforts. They should probably focus one person on the counter/all drinks/register to help with the flow so the other 2 people can handle the floor. Just sayin'. I recommend Rincocito for the standards. Prices are very reasonable, and the quality and amount of food served is satisfying.

Yelp
Everything is so fresh and delicious And you get an abundant amount of food for a good price. I got the pan con bistec, pollo sopa that comes with two sides, and chicken tacos My tummy is happy!

Yelp
Wow, this was the best delivery service from GrubHub and the food from Rinconcito amazing!! I ordered a chicken soup, mondongo soup with tortilla, boiled platanos and the oxtail. One of the sides was the fried plantains and that was a negative, maybe cause of the deliver they were drenched in oil:( but everything else was amazing. The prices are unbeatable for the type of food...delicious, flavorful. The oxtail I will say did not have a good amount but so darn tasty and the sauce wow. The mondongo soup was amazing!!! the flavor was delicious with enough veggies. I love to add the corn tortilla in the soup:) I will def order again or probably just go in person. Sorry I was so hungry and forgot to take pics. Next time. But definitely try this place out.

Yelp
The food lacked flavor. The lomo salteado was chewy and tasted nothing like authentic lomo made with good steak. No sauce or crema for the yucca, fries, or fried plantains (which I never received). Too many tasty spots in Miami to ever waste time or money here!
google avatar

Augusto B.

Yelp
Beef fry tacos are amazing , mondongo soup is perfection. Queso frito delicious . Prices are affordable. Not a big fan of their sandwiches. They are literally everything to it .

Norma R.

Yelp
The food and service is excellent,,..I highly recommend this place ..you will not be dissapointed...

Yelp
My new go-to spot! Every single order has been flawless and delicious each time. I love their breakfasts, and my cafecito was made just right. And the entrees I've ordered for dinner have all been wonderful as well. My steak Milanese was huge! All the prices are super reasonable, and you'll never leave hungry. :)

Yelp
Went here on a break I had for lunch (while at school at MDC Medical Campus) and decided to go somewhere close for lunch. TBH, I was a little disappointed to see that the empanadas were more of an Argentinian style vs. Colombian style (my favorite); but I was shocked to see how flavorful the ground beef was on the inside and how crispy the shell of the empanada was. It DEFINITELY exceeded my expectations. The staff was not overly friendly, nor were they rude; clearly it was just a busy lunch time. I also ordered the Baleadas de Carne. The tortilla was really big... Too big(in my opinion) as the filling sat in about just 1/3 of the tortilla. As I DO wish there was more filling in this Baleada, it was very flavorful and the texture of the tortilla was absolutely on point! Will definitely be back for future lunch breaks!

Yelp
This was absolutely GREAT FOOD!! You have to bring a local stop in and have a great meal!!! Great great food and service. The ambiance is beautifully presented in the Cuban heritage.
google avatar

Aurelio S.

Yelp
I tried the ropa vieja con moro y maduros and it was so fresh even when I ordered at 10 pm . Literally one serving lasted me three days because they pack a lot of food and the prices are very good compared to other local authentic Cuban Caribbean Latin food.
google avatar

Jorge M.

Yelp
I had food delivered...great Oxtail and mondongo. The oxtail was tender, very flavorful and the side vinagre/spice dipping sauce was amazing...great great spot!

Yelp
First stop off the plane and I must say THANK GOD for good food!!!! Coming from NYC which is a melting pot to vacation in Miami and have a feast which turned into three meals was phenomenal. I walked in and was treated with the upmost respect and hospitality. The waitress made me feel like I was her relative than a guest and made sure that everything was perfect. What also made my experience over the top was when I was done eating the manger walked over to me and thank me for coming, normally from my experience the manager only comes when there's a problem or concern but I felt as if I was at home. The food was amazing, the service superb and the price was perfect I cannot wait to come back to Miami and eat!!

Yelp
pésimo trato de una de la muchachas y ni siquiera me estaba atendiendo

Yelp
The Spanish word for Seafood is Marisco. That word to me reminds of that very special taste. I ordered the Shrimp with yellow rice. It was delicious. The epitome of MARISCO. I'll this place again is in a very unexpected place. It's attached to a CAR WASH. If you didn't know it was there you'd drive by it. If you're in the Miami-Dade area, and you're really hungry. Bring that hunger to El Rinconcito Latino Mixto. The menu is jammed full of things to eat. The daily specials truly are. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I noticed a lot of police officers, that's a good sign. They know where the good places are. Enjoy.

Yelp
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!! How sad they can comprehend a simple order. My boyfriend and I ordered through Postmates. We called them seconds after placing the order to make sure it came with everything in the description and to make sure our eggs were fried and we got flour tortilla. The Postmate finally got here with the food and the poor girl said she was waiting there for almost an hour for the food. By the time it got here, not only was it cold but it was completely WRONG. Eggs were scrambled and they didn't give the tortillas. We called them to let them know they made a mistake and the girl on the phone gave a nasty attitude. We send one of our coworkers to pick up the food and he waited there for TWO HOURS after the lady on the phone said it would be ready in 15 mins. When they gave him the food, the broken egg yolks were all over the containers and bags. When he asked what that sticky stuff was she told him she's not fixing it. He also told me many Uber eats drivers and postmates drivers were there walking out on them for ignoring them and taking too long. We finally got our food and all of our egg yolk was spilled out of the bag and they didn't give us the cafe con leche that was included with our meals. Also, the carne asada is by far the worst I've ever tried. You'll be chewing on it until next week. Just avoid this place at all costs and thank me later!!

Yelp
I honestly do not recommend going to this place. The customer service experience I had was just awful. My waitress did a terrible job attending me and my family. She never came to check if we needed more, needed anything or had questions, and never updated us on our food. We simply asked for a lemon/lime for our water, which by the way, never came. Also the food took a while, which isn't so bad but when your about done eating your food and more food comes that's different. Don't get me wrong the food wasn't so bad, it was pretty good. I've never order to go or delivery, so I can't give my opinion on that but from what I've experienced, their customer service needs a lot of work. They might just loose a customer due to the fact that they cannot do such simple tasks!
google avatar

Crystal V.

Yelp
I have always ordered to go and I don't recommend it. I was missing my side items. The food is tasty and depending what you order it may be a lot which I love left overs for next day lunch. But it was ok. Maybe I'll try eating in one day.

Yelp
Very tasty. Not super expensive and big plates. Had the carne asada lunch special for 9 bucks. Super flavorful. Ordered online and picked up in person.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat. The selection of food items on the menu is amazing. I have yet to eat something I didn't enjoy. If you love Mexican food- Mi Rinconcito is worth a visit! The staff are also great too :)

Yelp
I don't usually leave bad reviews. It usually takes a lot for me to do, I try to consider people's livelihoods. But goddamn, did this girl make it easy to do this. The young girl with the short purple hair was the absolute worst waitress I've ever met. Disrespectful, absent minded, know it all angsty y descarada- I found out about this place because I used to do Uber eats and would pick up orders from here, plus it's by my house and it's cheap. She assisted me the first time I went in and put in an order and was rushing me to order and there was no one waiting to put in an order. I didn't take it seriously, I ate and left- I returned after a couple months. decided to bring my boyfriend this time. The second we sat down it was the same thing, we felt pressured to order and we weren't even ready. He asked her how the chicken burger was prepared, she rolled her eyes and smiled sarcastically and said it's a chicken burger. There are many ways for it to be prepared, it could've been baked or fried. She was so short and didn't give us any information. I asked her what sizes of soup there were and she demonstrated the size with her hands, saying "pequeño, o grande" over and over again very lowly as if I was a child and didn't understand. We ordered empanadas to eat while waiting for our food, we didn't even get them in time. She remembered right before we left, and asked a coworker to give it to us. She disappeared for like 15 minutes, I was still waiting for a juice I ordered and never got from her. Her coworker brought out our order, The purple descarada is no where to be found. My boyfriend left her a $2 tip, I would've left her nothing if it was up to me. I got home to eat my Sopa De Mondongo and I see clippings of Pubic or Facial hair. I'm almost positive she did this. the soup smelled like rotten wet animal more than it smelled like food. I couldn't even enjoy my meal. I won't be coming back in here. Which is unfortunate because I really liked this place.

Yelp
I normally order through Uber eats , since the service during lunch time is a bit slow. With uber eats, it's a lot faster. I ear hear often. The baleados are delicious , as well as the croqueta preparadas, and rabo encendido. Only once was the rabo too salty, but otherwise , usually delicious. There's a breaded fish that's good as well, but better to eat it in the restaurant.

Luisa G.

Yelp
I'm a supporter of a small businesses. But I think this place needs new management and staff that feel like working. Everybody had an attitude and food took forever. Food was good but everything else definitely needs a lot of work.

Morgan W.

Yelp
Ordered through DoorDash. Called to check on it after almost an hour and a half went by. They hung up on me. I called again, they picked up and hung up. DoorDash assigned a new driver, who was told that someone else took my food. Called a third time, and whoever answered the phone was incredibly dismissive and unhelpful. Very poor service - Never again.

Lynette M.

Yelp
This is the best spot for mondongo soup! And all the other Latin dishes are authentic and have wonderful flavors. Come on an empty stomach cause the portions are huge!! Love this place!!

Yelp
Absolutely incredible food, the chef from el salvador used to work at an upscale hotel, so he knows his stuff! The oxtail with the moro rice is to die for. Try the tres leches for dessert, it's fantastic! Their horchata is a little sweet, but still great. They serve beer as well.
