Magnificent. From arrival to departure My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay at this unique, ancient castle turned hotel set on a hilltop in the middle of the forrest. In terms of the buildings and the rooms, it’s old-meets-new balanced just the right way. The hotel operators were hands on from the get-go and throughout and generally the staff was friendly and forthcoming. We dined at the lovely restaurant set inside the hotel, which serves dishes made mainly from local produce alongside good wines (natural wines as well, which my wife loves) as well as great non-alcoholic options. The food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxed and the chairs were comfortable while the service was immaculate. After a walk through the charming park, we slept really well in the generous rooms with comfortable beds and woke up to the sounds of birds singing in the trees outside. Breakfast was served in the stunning dining hall. No buffet, but rather a nice ensemble of fresh butter, meats and cheeses to go along with crisp pastries. We also had the option of ordering different kinda of eggs, yoghurt and some sort of pancakes. Almost overwhelming. The coffee was fresh and tasty. Various teas were also available on option. In short; great stay and highly recommend—we’ll be back soon!
