Good food but the servers could be warmer. I didn't plan on coming here. But having failed plan A next door (the original pantry cafe, I've given it a twenty minutes waiting so it's fair), I've decided to just walk in at the Riordan. While I was being seated and served immediately, the servers don't seem to be overly joyous. They were busy talking among themselves though. It looks bad from a customer's eyes. The corned beef sandwich came out as quickly as I could order it. It was warm crispy and delicious. While it wasn't out of this world, it served its purpose. I'd come back and try other dishes at different times, and probably not going to the pantry. Let's be honest, the pantry sure is an icon and has been in the community for a long time, it's still just a diner. It isn't a gourmet restaurant. To stand in line just to be seated for so so to just ordinary food isn't really something we should encourage. On the other hand, the servers at the Riordan could improve by being more approachable. My server Zamri probably couldn't wait to get rid of his customers as soon as they have finished eating. I was handed the bill even I've told him I'd take a few minutes break. That's always a turn off. For that reason alone, I'll refrain from ordering a dessert and a coffee.
