I was genuinely excited when I saw RioSoul opening on Sunset--I live nearby and had been looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, after an experience I had on July 21 around 1:30 PM, I no longer feel safe or comfortable doing so.
As I was walking past the restaurant, I was approached by a man wearing a RioSoul shirt who appeared to be an employee. He appeared to be about 5'7", Hispanic, with tattoos on his neck and face, and was actively trying to advertise the restaurant to passersby. I clearly declined his approach and kept walking, but he continued to follow me, attempted to grab my arm, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe.
I understand the importance of promoting a new business, but this interaction crossed a personal boundary. What should have been a friendly invitation felt more like harassment.
I hope management takes this seriously and ensures future customer outreach is respectful and professional. I wanted to support this restaurant, but this experience has strongly discouraged me from ever visiting.
