How Coronavirus Has Changed Brexit’s Impact on U.K. Restaurants | Eater London

"Stocking more than 500 cheeses, Rippon Cheese in Pimlico previously imported directly from Southern Ireland, France, Italy and Germany but has moved toward U.K. wholesalers because new customs paperwork and declaration fees have added up and hit profit margins on Italian and French cheeses by 10–15%; commercial director Jon Harris says they are trying to maintain prices for customers but warn that assortments will narrow and prices will eventually rise as smaller, niche imports become uneconomic and wholesalers shoulder the paperwork burden." - Lisa Haseldine

Yelp
A simply brilliant cheese shop. It looks a bit foreboding from the front because there's a big curtain to keep the smell in (I mean, it's a shop full of mature, delicious cheese), but step inside and it's a lactophile's dream come true. They have a fantastic range, and the lady in the shop was perfectly happy to chat and let us try samples and tell us all about the different cheeses. They also have a little offcuts basket, so if you want to buy little pieces for 75p a go, you can take small pieces of cheese instead. It's a hidden gem - my partner and I have now started a cheese fund so we can treat ourselves here every now and then!

Yelp
We passed this store, while walking in the Pimlico neighborhood when we saw the name Rippon Cheese and saw two ladies cutting cheese wheels in the window. Of course we stopped to look, being from Wisconsin, and they looked up, smiled at us, then went on their way working. On the way back past the store, we had a go in! It's tiny, separated by a plastic curtain into a refrigerated area holding hundreds of varieties of European cheeses. Since we typically stop in the afternoon for a cheese snack, we thought we would buy some and take them back to the flat. We chose a Shropshire blue, Emmental from Switzerland and a soft cheese from France. The store was spotless, these ladies were very accommodating and knowledgeable and for 12 Bucks bought enough for a few days. The recommendations were excellent. This store is highly recommended on your trip to London.

Yelp
Fantastic cheese specialist, great service and great value. Popped in today to get advice on what to get for a cheese board for a dinner party. The lady owner is friendliness itself and very knowledgeable. Sainsbury's will never be able to top that! Their cheese cold room stocks a wide variety of cheeses just as good if not better than the big names. Much more fun shopping here!

Yelp
The antithesis of a supermarket cheese counter, run by a friendly couple who were featured in one of the Sunday papers a year or so ago. They sell all types of cheese (the lovely smell alone when you walk in tells you everything you need to know). Much, much better than a supermarket in all aspects - you can ask questions which will be intelligently answered, they'll give you suggestions of similar but different cheeses to ones you're already familiar with and are more than happy to let you taste before buying. I always go in here when making up a cheeseboard for a dinner party as you come out with something delicious and different from the usual standard plastic cheese so common in Sainsbury's!

Yelp
The freshest cheese in London....a wide, wide range too...lots of exotic European cheese....and at wholesale prices.....my favourite cheese shop in London....always include it in the markets walk when I do Tachbrook Street.

Yelp
Excellent section of cheese in a little store off the beaten path. Don't bother with the food courts in the fancy stores. You get more of a selection and a better value for the money at this tiny shop with more cheese than you have ever seen. I can't wait to go back!
