Bay to Breakers: Where to Refuel and Rehydrate Along the Race Course - Eater SF

"Biscuit breakfast sandwiches, avocado toasts, and cold brew await at this potential Inner Richmond pitstop. Look, you earned a break (and a treat). Indoor seating is currently unavailable, but it works out because you were heading back to the course anyways ... right?" - Dianne de Guzman, Caleb Pershan

Where to Find The Best Lattes and Cold Brew in San Francisco Right Now | Eater SF

"The cold brew at this shop is worth a try (honorable nod to Flywheel’s cold coffee, too) but it’s the Richmond Chill, the businesses’ riff on a Vietnamese coffee, that folks will mention. The list of options and unique takes is staggering: a torched creme brulee latte, a malted milk chocolate Whopper latte, and even a mint cold brew that may just be a wink toward the iconic Philz option." - Paolo Bicchieri

Google
Got a cold brew with almond milk, I asked if you could add any flavoring and they said whatever was at the end of the counter was what they had. Fits the vibes of what you’d expect a coffee shop to be like, however the cold brew did not stand out to me. The patio seating was cute!

I love coming here to catch up with friends! Seating is very limited, but Golden Gate Park is just steps away and has plenty of spots to sit down and enjoy your drink/food. The horchata latte, black sesame matcha, and crème brûlée latte are my favorites!

Google
Convenient place to stop on your way to the de young or cal academy in the park. Egg sandwich is fine. The semi melted slice of American cheese took me back to my childhood. The baristas were very nice and offered me a treat for my pup!

Google
This place has very friendly service! I ordered the iced sesame Matcha latte! It was really nice because they were able to remove the condensed milk if you want to, which is a nice option! Also… There are some limited seats, but not that much… But some nice seating outside if it is a sunny day! I enjoyed my experience there and I thought the Matcha latte was very yummy :)

Google
Rise & Grind is my go to spot when I am visiting Golden Gate Park or Ocean Beach. The breakfast sandwiches are very good but I recommend trying the Vietnamese Egg Custard Coffee.....This coffee mix is astonishingly good. The customer service staff have always been very cool and pleasant.

Google
Perfect location right across GGP. Stopped for a latte halfway through my doggie walk. Cool, friendly staff! Yuuummmy. Breakfast sandwich is delicious. Egg was fried perfectly soft and the avocado creamy. Brioche lightly toasted. Might ask for light on the sauce the next time though. Some wasted space and tables that are blocked off - would be nice to have more out as people were crowding inside. “Bear” tip jar is winning against “Man.” 😆

Google
A very nice coffee shop on the outskirts of Golden Gate Park. Very interesting coffee selections at very reasonable prices, with a menu of delicious food to accompany. The Matcha waffle was highly recommended and with good reason. The coffee was reasonably priced, the staff was very attentive and quick, and the entire store was bustling with the warmth a coffee shop should have. The free wifi was also a very big bonus as well. Tl;Dr: While not a location I'd recommend for brunch, I'd definitely be happy to bring my family and friends here if I wanted to take them out for a coffee. The drinks are galaxies apart from anything a starbucks could make, and the food and service are just icing on a delicious waffle.

Google
Incredibly friendly staff greeted us, genuinely happy to see us as we walked in. Coffee was well made and delicious, but the Breakfast Sandwich really stole the show! The combination of flavors and textures, with the gooey yolk, come together perfectly and have me rethinking how i make breakfast sandwiches at home! Highly recommend :)

Yelp
**Title: Perfect Brew, Green Oasis, and Dog-Friendly Vibes Next to Golden Gate Park at Rise and Grind!** Rise and Grind is an absolute gem for coffee lovers, plant enthusiasts, and dog owners, conveniently located right next to Golden Gate Park! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee, complemented by the lush greenery that fills the space, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. I recently tried their horchata latte and a blueberry danish, and both were absolutely delightful. The horchata latte was a perfect blend of creamy and spicy, with just the right amount of sweetness--definitely a unique and refreshing twist on a classic coffee drink. The blueberry danish was fresh and flaky, with a generous filling of sweet, tangy blueberries that paired perfectly with the latte. The abundance of plants adds a refreshing and vibrant touch to the decor, making Rise and Grind not just a coffee shop, but a green oasis in the city. The seating is all outside, providing a wonderful alfresco experience that lets you enjoy your coffee in the fresh air. The cozy outdoor seating areas, bathed in natural light, provide the perfect setting for working, studying, or simply unwinding with a great cup of coffee. What sets Rise and Grind apart is its dog-friendly policy. It's heartwarming to see patrons enjoying their coffee while their furry friends relax by their side. The welcoming atmosphere extends to four-legged visitors, making it a perfect spot for dog owners who don't want to leave their pets behind. Plus, being right next to Golden Gate Park, it's the ideal stop before or after a leisurely stroll. A special shoutout to Kevin, the barista who made my visit extra special. His friendly demeanor and expert coffee-making skills ensured that my horchata latte was perfectly crafted. His warm and attentive service truly enhanced my experience. In summary, Rise and Grind is a must-visit for anyone seeking exceptional coffee and pastries in a beautiful, plant-filled, and dog-friendly environment. It's a place where you can truly relax and savor every sip, with your furry friend by your side. Five stars all the way!

Yelp
Great place for coffee and yummy breakfast sandwiches. Love this location being right next to GGP. Staff were super friendly and gave their recommendations as the menu is quite extensive. Love how you can choose from so many different options unlike most other cafes. I tried the horchata latte with oat milk and it was very tasty. I usually don't like my coffee warm but this one was so delicious that I didn't mind, especially for how chilly the morning was. Now the star of the show was the breakfast sandwich. Dare I say one of the best I've had in a long time. The sauce they put in the sandwich made it even better. Truly a perfect spot for breakfast.

Yelp
Staff was super friendly!! I loved that they had a lot of plants to the side! It's a super small space inside to order. I got the Vietnamese egg coffee and it was delicious!!! I've had my fair share of egg coffee in South Bay and this one is definitely lighter and creamier!

Yelp
I ordered and paid for an egg coffee but was then informed that they were sold out and would not have another batch ready until way later. I switched my order to a black sesame matcha latte (only available iced) with oat milk and declined their polite offer to refund me the difference, as it was marginal. When my drink was ready, the barista told me to stir it well before drinking it. I gave it several good stirs and took a sip. It tasted slightly bitter and grassy, so I stirred it some more, which greatly improved the taste as the black sesame became more prominent. I liked that it wasn't super sweet; it tasted very balanced. But about that egg coffee... I still want to try it, so I'll be making another trip to this café sometime.

Yelp
There aren't many options for Vietnamese Egg Coffee within SF in the first place, so imagine my surprise when my best friend tells me that Rise & Grind started offering one of the bay's best renditions of this drink next to Golden Gate Park. Rise & Grind's Vietnamese egg coffee features their sweet Mission Chill Vietnamese coffee as a base with a thick, creamy layer of the egg custard and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. The eggy-ness of the custard stands out (in a good way) to the other egg coffees I've tried in the bay, and the overall drink is on the sweeter side. The cafe also lets you modify the drink (e.g. less/more sweet, 1 espresso shot than the default 2), or just have the egg custard cream on top of another base if you ask. With a plethora of creative coffee options, Rise & Grind is a small storefront focusing on takeout coffee in Park Presidio, only a five minute walk from the music concourse & deYoung museum in GGP. Their entrance features a colorful collection of indoor plants which adds to the store's ambiance. There is limited seating with just one long bench in the store for waiting, and 3 outdoor patio tables in total.

Yelp
Heavily addicted to their Vietnamese egg coffee and I'm not afraid to admit it. Love how quick they are here considering they can get busy busy. Ambiance is beautiful it's well lit and nicely decorated with lots of greenery. Kevin gets my order right every time so I highly appreciate this little shop.

Yelp
This location is on the small side, it seems like that may be a pandemic change, so mostly space to wait for your order inside with some outdoor seating. I came for their limited (hopefully it stays on the menu!) Vietnamese egg custard coffee. Thankfully, they had just made a batch when I arrived, so it may not always be available pending demand. Perfectly salty and sweet, it went down way too fast! SF lacks Vietnamese style coffee so this is a great addition to neighborhood. Hope you get to try it while it's around and it becomes a permanent part of the menu :)

Yelp
If you're a sweet & creamy type of coffee drinker, you can count on Rise & Grind's specialty drinks! This location is pretty small, with 3 little tables out front and a small area inside for order pickup (no seating). There's an iPad to self order too! Drinks were made promptly with less than a 5 min wait at 2pm on a Saturday. *WHOPPER LATTE* -- $6 (Oct 21, 2023) If you love malted milk + chocolate, you are going to love it with coffee! The default settings for this latte are whole milk, double espresso, and chocolate syrup, topped with crushed whoppers. You can customize the milk, espresso count, and even sweetness level too! *CREME BRÛLÉE LATTE* -- $6 (Oct 21, 2023) this Tastes like a regular latte, sweetened with a caramel syrup - but the top layer of the drink is torched! I actually didn't find this drink to be too sweet, rather it tastes borderline non-sweetened.

Yelp
Ordered an iced matcha black sesame latte with 30% sugar, but realized it needed a lot more. Seems like they don't add too much sugar to their drinks; I should've picked standard or 50%. Can order with the cashier or a self kiosk, got our order in 5 min! Love the interior of the shop, I took a sip of their version of the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was SO GOOD!

Yelp
They have so many UNIQUE latte flavors in this cute little cafe and I was SOLD at the sight of Black Sesame. What we tried: Black Sesame Latte (Hot) - This was THICK and coming from someone that LOVES Black Sesame Paste this was a 6/10 Iced Matcha Black Sesame Latte - The Matcha was EVEN THICKER and overall not drinkable, this was immediately tossed Anyways, I may give them another shot, but as of now I have no recommendations

Yelp
Fantastic and creative coffee spot near the park! I have been to the Mission location of Rise and Grind before and this location is just as good. Cute, bike friendly spot with great music and outdoor seating. Thanks to the park, this location is lively and vivacious. The shop owners were quick with my order and helpful answering any questions. Pretty reasonable prices too! The menu is creative -- would recommend the Horchata latte or the Black Sugar latte for a fun treat. The sandwich, which quick and cheap, was slightly boring. Other than the brioche bun, it looked and tasted like something I can make myself at home -- a couple slices of turkey, cheese, a quarter avocado, and some lettuce. Wouldn't necessarily recommend, though their other food options looked great. Altogether, a great coffee spot with friendly staff and fun drinks. Will be back.

Yelp
I saw how cute this coffee shop was on TikTok and came to check it out. This shop has a variety of coffee, specialties, and teas. Black Sesame Latte (5/5): Although it was pricy, this was definitely made to perfection. It had the perfect blend of black sesame with latte and it wasn't too sweet. Let me know how the other drinks taste!
google avatar

Yelp
The coffee here was amazing. The espresso and milk ratio was well-balanced. The drinks were sweet enough without overpowering the flavor of espresso. They were reasonably priced. They gave good customer service and were friendly. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
My brother and I took a day trip out to SF. Stopped at Botanical Gardens and decided to look up a close coffee spot. Rise & Grind was the nearest to our location! Such a cute little spot, had locals nearby with their dogs. My son loved it! Service was good, liked how there was self order available on their iPad. Our orders came out fast too!

Yelp
Today I came in with an online order for vanilla cold brew and salted caramel flavoring. They made the drink upon my arrival while talking about their breakfast plans. Got my drink and headed back to car only to realize they poured me iced tea and NOT cold brew. Probably the worst thing that could possibly happen at a coffee shop. Very dissapointed

Yelp
I was looking for a nice coffee shop in the area and stumbled upon this place! Just to be warned, parking is a pain, but I managed to find a spot a block away. Walking up, you can tell they still take social distancing seriously. They have a line that starts outside the building and still have plexiglass up at the register. If you want to come here to hang out and do some work, you'll have to opt for the few small tables and chairs outside. On the inside, they have a bench and standing area, but the rest of the inside is blocked off. I ordered the Iced black sesame matcha. I love matcha and I love sesame so figured why not! It's really good, but the sesame does constantly settle on the bottom so you'll have to constantly mix it. If you don't like the sesame flavor or don't want the thick consistency in your drink, skip it. But if you don't mind it, definitely try it! But as I mentioned, you'll have to keep stirring. Otherwise your first sips will be all matcha. I didn't try any of their pastries, so that will be for another time!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm sad to say I didn't love this place ): I love coffee and asian flavors but this one just didn't hit. I got the black sesame latte and I even after stirring it multiple times it felt like it never mixed. The coffee itself was alright, and for the price I don't think I'd give this particular drink another shot
google avatar

Rose Y.

Yelp
Came here for the crème brulee latte since its famous. The store is stack with lots of staff and basically no seats but has a few seats outdoor. I thought the latte would be in a mug instead of a paper cup, oh well. The coffee is very small but it cost around $6 and it doesn't taste any special. I would definitely not gonna come back again lol
google avatar

Yelp
a super small shop that was crowded on a Saturday morning, but it didn't take too long for my order to be completed. there's a self-ordering & paying counter at the front so you don't have to order at the cashier if you don't want to. the iced black sesame matcha (less ice, less sweet, low fat milk) was great value -- strong smooth matcha atop creamy, nutty black sesame. it might be a bit heavy for some people but as a huge lover of both flavors, I was overjoyed will be back to try the coffees because there are so many unique options!
google avatar

Page W.

Yelp
got an iced matcha chai from here & an oat latte. coffee is roasted pretty well & matcha was whisked to the gods. there was also some condensed milk on the bottom of my matcha -- delicious. wasn't overly sweet considering. absolutely delicious drinks. the service is quick because they usually have a line out the door. small place, not a lot of seating at all. you kind of get it & go.. and why wouldn't you?? go sit in the park (that's literally across the street) & enjoy your drink. would like to try other things from here like the food.

Yelp
Rise & Grind has two locations in San Francisco, and I stopped by their location in the Inner Richmond. They're a cute neighborhood coffee shop, and were surprisingly open on Christmas Day (although understandably on an abbreviated schedule). Ordering ahead online is highly recommended, since they had a line at 11:45am and customers waiting for drinks outside, even though they were closing at noon. I tried their Malted Latte (Malted Milk & Guittard Chocolate, Double Espresso, Topped w/Whopper Candy, $5.50 + $1 Oat Milk, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=6HY0Gh4a2iSP-7PPDG8Pmg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg), which was the perfect level of sweetness since I requested less sweet. This latte was smooth and creamy, but the malt and chocolate flavors were more subtle. I'll be back when in the area to try more of their speciality lattes (creme brulee, cookie butter, peanut butter, black sesame) as well as their mint cold brew and iced richmond. Some indoor and outdoor seating options were available. Street parking in this area can be tough to find.

Yelp
"I walk by faith, not by sight." - Book of Eli I think I've been to Rise & Grind Coffee and Tea before, or maybe not, well boo, now I have lol. The coffee shop that I thought I'd been to, but upon arrival I never been. Odd how life is when some things and people are so familiar like you've known them forever. After picking up pastries and hot drinks in Japantown, my friends wanted to go elsewhere to enjoy it. Rise & Grind Coffee and Tea came to mind, especially knowing one of my friends was a huge Matcha fan and needed a drink. I also recall Mila E. (my other sweet friend), who knows her coffee, she a fan of this local chain, in Mila I Trust. Rise & Grind Coffee it is! This location is found on 8th and Fulton (think back of small Safeway for landmark) in the Inner Richmond. Parking can be a bish so be aware of that if driving. I lucked out by finding street parking on the same block! Upon entering we were hit by a busy menu board and about six people waiting on their orders. Don't expect "cafe vibe" because as of this writing it's either take-out or the three small cafe tables outside! There's also a small window counter you can stand and enjoy your drinks, but it can get crowded inside! We already had fancy coffees in hand courtesy of Jina Bakes, except for our picky Matcha drinker who really wanted to try the Iced Black Sesame Matcha from Rise & Grind! And that's exactly what she ordered. She used regular dairy, but substitutes are offered (I know Oat is one option). It was a nice sunny day so we enjoyed it outside on a cafe table. I did manage to get a sip of the Black Sesame Matcha after it was ordered a second time to go. I see why my friend enjoyed it so much... top quality ingredients and not too sweet and just done right, if you like it pure this is it. I'm sure you can sweeten it up if need be. In the end, I'd recommend Rise & Grind Coffee and Tea for those that enjoy a quality cup! Twas low key and nothing aesthetically stood out, employees were urban artsy types, but it worked. I'd return and make sure I wear my Eli beanie so I blend within these walls.

Yelp
Had the iced black sesame matcha and it was bomb. Love how intimate this cafe is. Great location, awesome staff. Recommend grabbing a latte and bagel then heading across the street for a nice stroll thru Golden Gate Park
google avatar

Yelp
I visited Rise & Grind Coffee for the first time this weekend and had an awesome experience! To start off, I was really excited to see the wide range of options on their menu. This includes fun drinks (like a cookie butter latte), more traditional coffee drinks, as well as many non-coffee drinks (Matcha, Chai, Horchata, etc). As a non-coffee drinker, it is nice to have so many potential drinks to try. For a place with so many interesting options, the quality ended up being great! Their iced matcha latte is now tied as one of my favorites in SF, and my partner says their coffee is good too. One last note: In terms of seating, there are two (small) 2-person tables outside and no seating inside. Fortunately, Golden Gate park is close by and a great place to take your drinks/food.
google avatar

Rosie M.

Yelp
I like the black sesame latte with almond milk. Just keep in mind the fact that the black sesame sinks to the bottom so it's a good idea to keep swirling it around in the cup while consuming the coffee. Something really nice that happened was my SIL asked for a bear face for her brother because he asked for it, and the barista tried just so that we could be happy. And how nice it was because he made it!
google avatar

Shivani P.

Yelp
There was a long line outside of the cafe so we had a feeling their lattes would be delicious. We picked up an iced whopper latter and an iced cookie butter latte and boyyy did it hit. I think I preferred the whopper latte over the cookie butter one since it was sweeter. We forgot to ask for a stirrer, which sucked bc all of the malted milk powder was at the bottom :( BUT if you visit you HAVE to get their almond croissant, it was so heavenly I'm drooling just thinking about it again.
google avatar

Yoojin S.

Yelp
Nice coffee stop walkable to Golden Gate Park. I love that it has unique flavored lattes like cookie butter! I had Creme Brulee latte where they do torch the top! Coffee was satisfying on a cold day and the creme brulee wasn't that sweet. Limited seating, it's pretty much take out for now.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
-Service: so sweet and fast -Parking: street only -Seating: a couple of seats and tables right outside. This is more of a to-go coffee shop
google avatar

Kristian K.

Yelp
This was our first time here since the pandemic so it looked like you can't eat or drink inside anymore. They do have outdoor seating. It was a sunny day but I wish it hadn't been so windy. We arrived 15 minutes before closing for so we were too late for food but we did order iced drinks. I ordered an iced green tea which was good. I think it's strange that they close at 1 pm when other cafes close at 2 pm. I wish they could have put up a sign that said they didn't have a public restroom so I wouldn't have bothered to ask. We don't come to this area that much but we think it was a little better pre pandemic.
google avatar

Catherine L.

Yelp
When they use freshly ground black sesame! It makes all the difference. I really loved this latte because I'm a huge fan of sesame. My only complaint is that the black sesame, almost coagulated, so it was difficult to drink, and I almost had to dump it in my mouth at the end. However, the overall taste was great because it wasn't too sweet.
google avatar

Katherine L.

Yelp
Found this place nearby the park since we were planning to walk around. The employee was nice when we ordered. They have some tasty and strong coffees. I enjoyed my black sesame latte because it wasn't overpowering of the coffee and not too sweet. I did notice that they don't worry about the cobwebs around their waiting area, which was off-putting for me.
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
service was really great, i asked the barista about how their matcha is made and they told me it's in house sweetened with condensed milk, but it's still not very sweet because the matcha is strong. i like a strong matcha however i found the matcha to be too bitter so i would not get it again. i also got the crème brulee latte hot and i liked it! im a crème brulee lover so any time i see that on a menu i have to try it. they torched the top so you get sweet bits when you sip. eventually it disperses into the drink and becomes a sweet latte throughout. i would have liked to try it iced but this one only comes hot. there are many coffee shops in the city but if you're looking for one right outside golden gate park then this one is not bad
google avatar

Kay D.

Yelp
This coffee place has tasty and creative lattes. If I feel like getting a treat, I like their crème brûlée latte. It's a stop and pick up coffee shop only. Downside is there's no place sit in.

Lauren L.

Yelp
The drinks here are all honestly solid choices, I've never had one that I regret. My friends really like the matchas and this shop put me on London Fog. Staff here has always been so kind here and it's super close to GGP so you can definitely grab your coffee for your morning walk through the park, get comfy with your laptop, or meet up with some friends here to chat.

Yelp
I have only tried Rise & Grind Coffee and Tea one time and find it safe to say that it is one of my favorite coffee spots. Quality, taste, value, all were great. I still have yet to find time to go soon because I have been craving their Cookie Butter Iced Latte, yet want to try the other interesting drinks they have on the menu. -Coffee quality/signature flavors: 5/5 rating *I ordered an Iced Cookie Butter latte. I can taste the quality espresso shot and was balanced out with the taste of cookie butter. My friend got an Iced Horchata latte. I can not speak for her in terms of rating however, she did like her drink!! -Price/Size value: 5/5 rating *I find the price points to be pretty valid and fair. Considering my drink had a signature flavor to it, I believe I paid about $7 most which was not bad. The size of the drink was decent too. -Ambiance: 4/5 rating *SO cute. My eyes automatically landed on all the greenery in the cafe. Very very aesthetically pleasing and all the drawn San Francisco art on the walls . I just wish there was more seating. There is no seating inside (I believe?) and there were only about 3 sets of tables outdoors. -Staff/service: 5/5 rating *Staff were nice and greeted right away. Service was simple and quick. I can not complain. -Parking: 1/5 rating *Parking is a pain! A very hit or miss situation. All primarily residential based parking but that gets taken up easily. I still have yet to try their food. My coworker gets their breakfast sandwiches and loves them so I have yet to try it for my own. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
A cute coffee shop that felt like neighborhood coffee shop vibes. When you walk in, you can see the barista making your drink. I got a black sesame latte and it was so good! It's a bit more sweet than I expected but interestingly more smooth as well too since I thought there would be more texture with the black sesame. Really great drink that I had wanted to try ever since I had heard about this place. I really appreciated the service as the cashier man and barista were kind to explain the drinks. Just a note that it's not a sit down cafe and just to-go's. Golden Gate Park is just a stone's throw away from the store and you can enjoy your coffee there too!
google avatar

Yelp
Summary: Smooooth espresso drinks Details: Rise & Grind was a pleasant surprise given how particular my girlfriend and I have become about our coffee drinks: smooth and balanced is the name of the game, and they managed to fit the bill pretty well! The latte we tried was a shockingly smooth drink, and reminiscent of Espresso Vivace up in Seattle, though it wasn't quite as flavorful or complex as places like Sightglass or Telescope. Their Richmond/Mission Chill (their take on iced Viet coffee, sweetened with both condensed milk and sweetener) was also a pretty enjoyable drink, though having an EVEN less sweet option would have been nice.

Yelp
The best spot to grab some food in the morning then head into Golden Gate Park! Conveniently located right next to the bus stop and buy an entrance to the Golden Gate Park, this shop is perfect for grabbing a breakfast item and a drink before finding a spot in the park to enjoy a nice breakfast with a view. (There's very limited seating here!) I got the breakfast sandwich and it was amazing. Loved the sauce that it comes with and the amazing runny egg. Also who doesn't love avocado? I also got the black sesame matcha and I enjoyed it but wish I asked for a straw. The matcha floats on top and they gave me a store stick, but the sesame is just so crabby it doesn't mix that well. Especially since I was trying to mix it through the small opening to drink. The matcha also wasn't sweet, the sweetness comes from the black sesame so I needed to mix it before I drank it everytime. But both items were amazing! Heads up though there will probably be a line so be prepared to wait! The shop it pretty small and there were just a couple of seats outside to eat at. Definitely would recommend you come try the place out!

Yelp
The best, period! Great staff amazing coffee, and quick when you need it. They are my spot above and beyond Starbucks or other if possible
google avatar

Yelp
Location is right by Golden Gate Park so a nice spot to grab a coffee before exploring the park. Lots of speciality coffee options for people who don't like the taste of coffee. I got an iced black sesame latte which was quite good and not that sweet. I also got the breakfast sandwich which was decent but a little messy (the brioche bun was delish). Service was helpful, friendly and quick. They have a tablet to order on but you can also order from a human haha. There are about three tables outside but no seating inside.

Yelp
Great cafe with coffee and tea. Highly recommend the matcha latte, it seemed like the same amount of caffeine as coffee!! No seating inside, would recommend you take your coffee to the park and have a picnic instead! -1 star because their hours are weird. Only open 8am-1pm. What kind of coffee shop isn't open early morning?

Yelp
Rise and shine at Rise & Grind! That's exactly what Mila E., my friend, and I did! My friend and I wanted to check out a new coffee shop and based on Mila's recommendation, we chose to come here! Both of them know my taste in drinks, so when I saw the menu it was right up my alley and I couldn't have been more excited to go. For the first time, it definitely lived up to the hype! We arrived on a quiet, chilly, and rainy weekday morning and were welcomed by the barista at the front. We were the only customers but soon after a flood came in. Ordering was a breeze as their menu was posted at the front with the cashier as well as on the wall. This cafe in particular gave me a hole-in-the-wall neighborhood vibe. A type of place you'd stop by for a small cup of coffee or tea. Yet, it felt a little more elevated with their specialty menu--a sure twist and charm to it. The baristas were welcoming and friendly, providing their own recommendations, and crafting each beverage right in front of us. If it wasn't raining, I would've loved to take my beverage to-go and walk around Golden Gate Park. Instead, we settled on sipping it inside where a small bench and standing table as well as a few tables and chairs outside. My friend recommended trying one of their specialty drinks which are creatively crafted. Alongside the offer traditional classic coffee drinks, teas, and foods which all seemed to be popular! Since it was my first time, I had to try something new! So many drinks sounded enticing but the one I ended up going for was the Iced Black Sesame Matcha with Soy. These are two flavors I love so to try them as a combination was out of this world! Too, I felt that the black sesame overpowered the drink. At first, how the drink is layered is both aesthetically pleasing and a bang of matcha. Once stirring it (which I highly recommend) you taste the sesame. My friend said it reminded him of a sesame ball but in drink form. It was nutty, creamy, and not too sweet. My friends got the Cookie Butter Latte and Horchata Latte. I tried a sip of my friend's cookie butter. At first, I tasted the coffee but immediately after I tasted the sweetness of the cookie butter which lingers. I enjoyed my drink so but next time I'd love to try their Horchata Latte or Salted Caramel Latte. Rise & Grind is your neighborhood coffee shop serving up traditional and dessert drinks with a twist. Catered towards locals and visitors, it's a place for all to grab, go, and enjoy! The shop is located in the Inner Richmond district, steps away from Golden Gate Park. The only issue can be parking which is residential but it's also accessible by the Muni. The vibes we got were friendly, quaint, and quick. I can't wait to come back if I'm in the area to try something new!

Yelp
We ordered ahead on their website for pick up. The drinks weren't timed great. My cappuccino had clearly been sitting out for a while (otherwise had a rich and smooth espresso flavor that I enjoyed), but the pour over wasn't ready. They also have a large menu of specialty/flavored espresso drinks. They also have a few hot food items The breakfast sandwich wad good- with a thick fresh bun, egg, cheese and ample bacon. The Chia Seed pudding was very blah- I'm not sure i they ran out of their typical ingredients, but it was only topped with very small pieces of mango. A couple small tables outside. Nowhere to sit inside except a small bench to wait on. I liked that they were right across the street from Golden gate park (could walk to the ferris wheel, playground, redwood grove)

Yelp
Delcious drinks, friendly staff and beautiful interior. My only qualm is there isn't much inside seating. Although there is outdoor tables set up it's pretty cold in the winter time. Overall a great place to grab a drink but this might not be the spot to study at. Would love to come back and try more drinks and some pastries!

Yelp
Sold out of breakfast sandwiches and most all sandwiches by 11:30am... the kitchen has gone down hill over the past few years but the coffee is good

Yelp
The Whopper latte was mid sadly. I wish I had tried something else, but that's on me! They forgot about the bagel I ordered and about 15 minutes after waiting 15 minutes for my coffee the bagel was ready. I'd say 30 minutes for a coffee and bagel is kind of rough. But it was hot, soft and filled with a decent amount of cream cheese. It was the redeeming factor of this stop. Hopefully etter luck next time (:

Yelp
Stopped by after a walk inside Golden Gate Park. The menu had many fun latte options, including peanut butter, black sesame, and whopper malt chocolate; I picked an iced soy horchata latte. I'd return to explore and try out some of their other lattes
