Rise & Shine

A quaint little spot! Arrived around 930 am, seated my self, as the sign says. Crystal was lovely and fast. She was attentive and moves with purpose to deliver the goods, while engaging in light conversations with the guests. I ordered the biscuits debris, had the homefries on the side and added scrambled eggs on top. It was delightfully satisfying. I had to take some breaks to get it all in! There seem to be many regulars that come on, which was nice to see. I also enjoyed the Christmas decor.

Went to eat on shift and really likes it. We got breakfast and everything came out good. I got Corned hash, 2 eggs, hash browns and their fresh bread. Only thing is i wish the corned beef had a little more texture to it. I Would definitely go back. They have a good sized menu and alot of stuff that sounds good.

Good food and huge portions for a low price! It’s a friendly, no-frills and old-fashioned atmosphere. The place was decorated really cute for Christmas.

My husband and I went for the first time and was not impressed. Our waitress was loud and unprofessional while speaking with other employees but loud enough for us to hear. Grits were thick and tasteless. Biscuits and gravy were tasteless as well. Meat lover’s omelette was good and filling. Coffee was ok. Asian lady at the front was very polite and funny. We will not be back.

December-10-2025 As we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. The interior looked like a Christmas wonderland. The place was lively and all decked out in festive decorations. The interior is very spacious with a lot of places to sit. The staff was so friendly, attentive, and provided superb customer service. Our server was such a sweet lady, friendly, and went above and beyond. She even gave my boy an elf plushie. It was such a thoughtful and kind thing for her to do. My boy hugged the elf and smiled at the lady. Our server made a new friend for sure, since my boy seemed to like her. I wish I had texted or written the name of the server on paper to ensure she knows what a marvelous job she did. I ordered a meat omelet with hash browns. The omelet and hash browns tasted freshly made. I loved how the hash browns were cooked, they were cooked to perfection, and they weren't burnt like many other places. The omelet was so good, especially with some Cholula sauce. 10/10 My boy had a pancake, sausage, and eggs. He seemed to like his food. My friend enjoyed her food as well. This was a wonderful experience. Delicious food and exceptional customer service. Thank you so much for making our experience a memorable one, and a huge thanks to our amazing server. If you have yet to eat hereI highly recommend you stop by.

Crystal was a nice waitress. Food was delicious and done really fast. I had the Western omelet w/hash browns and rye toast.

Such a fun place. Amazing home made food. Don't go next door to Ihop.....go here!!

This is one of my regular places for breakfast. The Ground Sirloin and eggs and the Chicken Fried Chicken and eggs are my favorites although I haven’t had anything there I didn’t like. Try the homemade raisin toast! The food is always out amazingly quickly and hot! The servers are all very friendly and make me feel at home!

Melissa was attentive to taking order and kept checking on me. Great selection of food options. On the short list when in town. Quiet atmosphere and holiday decor [day after Thanksgiving]

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! I stopped by Rise and Shine on Saturday morning and received a warm greeting and excellent service. I enjoyed a buttery waffle, crispy hashbrowns and savory sausage. My food came out nice and hot and Georgia kept my coffee cup full. I'll definitely be back for the comfort food, excellent service and a few laughs with staff. Thank you!

Always an enjoyable meal. The service can get overwhelmed so you might have to remind them about drink refills. Their three egg omelettes are always a good choice. Their bacon can be hit or miss. This time we asked for crispy bacon because it was very limp last time and it came out burnt. Not sure if that was passive aggressive or just what the cook thought was crispy. Be prepared to see all of the holidays at once in their decor.

I will not say we are regulars but we do enjoy this place. The food is always good. Staff is sweet & the decor is very whimsical.

Just your average food, but a phenomenal waitress in Crystal. Rise and Shine is unique, not other way to describe it! The atmosphere is eclectic, and the restaurant potentially looks closed from the outside if you don't look close enough. The food is okay, nothing special, but the best thing I have found on the menu is the homemade bread.

They open @6am. Came on a Saturday morning right after work shift it was raining hard !! I've always ordered ToGo and I'm glad I done in. Huge dining room and very unique decor. I love the fish tank. We were able to seat ourselves anywhere. We picked the booth. Melissa was our server. she was awesome and very helpful. Food was delicious and huge portions I was able to take leftovers. Huge omelets with side of potatoes which needed some seasoning to it and under cooked abit. Fresh french bread from toast or biscuit with gravy. The biscuit was so soft and flavorful. French toast was great. I did use their restroom it was clean but they had a few ceilings that needed to be replaced. Looks like their roof was leaking water somewhere I could see the water stains and hear it dripping down. Need to put some work in to their repairs!

We love this little hole in the wall! Decorations are cute, we love all the little chickens. Menu variety is impressive and cheap, and food comes out super quick and hot. Service is friendly and prompt! Make sure to ask for Pinky: she's the best of the bunch.

Finally, I got to try Rise and Shine! I drive by the place all the time and it gave me deserted non-existent, but today lol .. I got in!! Immediately entered was greeted by staff and to my surprise the Rise and Shine is much bigger than I expected, not to mention it was pretty packed. As a first timer, my server was very thorough with explaining the menu. Rise and Shine being known for the omelettes, I had to try one. Portions were heavy, omelette was loaded, not to mention the fresh raisin bread made in house was phenomenal. For some odd reason the food comes out EXTREMELY fast which is a great thing lol, idk their secret! I'll definitely be back to try something different!

Always good folks. Lots of space, seldom crowded. Many groups come here regularly. A diner here for about 20 years, family owned. Usual griddle menu for breakfast and lunch. Lots of omlettes and a few sandwiches and plate lunches. Homemade bread and biscuits choice comes with most menu items for reasonable pricing. Waitresses have their sections, sign at entry says seat yourself, can slide a couple tables together as needed for a group. Come by single or with friend(s). Beautiful fish tank at entry draws kids and even adults eyes.

My family and I stopped in and so amazingly surprised by the quick service, great tasting food all kickes out for 5 people. In and out in 45-50 mins. Ordered Avocado & Bacon Omelette Mushroom & Cheddar Omelette Rise and Shine 2 eggs, Bacon & Pancake 3Eggs, Bacon and Raisin Bread 2Eggs, Sausage patty, Hash Browns & Grits with Wheat Toast. Coffee and Water served Ambience is a thumbs up, lots of artb deco on shelves and about. Nicole was one of the best waitresses by far.

Extremely kind and attentive employees. Food was great (we ordered the breakfast burrito and waffles with peaches), and prices were unbeatable. Lots of personality in the endearing decor. Bathrooms could use some TLC but it seems like an old building.

This humble spot is a great place to grab breakfast. The service is friendly and attentive. I'm a big fan of their biscuits and gravy. If you like your bacon, hash browns, or corned beef hash crispy order them that way.

My wife takes our granddaughters here 3 or 4 times a month, it is greatness! No pretenses just great home cookin' ! You gotta try it!

Service was good, stopped in for breakfast. Eggs were dry. Hashbrowns tasted like they were burnt, but they look fine. I assumed that something else was burned on the griddle when they made the hashbrowns.

The food was delicious and the service was fast and courteous. I recommend any omelet with cream cheese and the homemade bread toast. Good coffee, too.

This place is the best place for home cooked Breakfast Always satisfied coming here. They have really cool salt water aquarium. Was my moms birthday and we didn't even ask The waitress to do it But they brought out a little Birthday pancake plate and candle And had the restaurant join in to sing happy birthday.

I am sooooo in love with the batter that is house made with the French toast!! The place has more of an old school vibe and is perfect for a cheap bite after church. The servers are police and have been working there for decades! I will be back!

Nothing negative with this 3 star rating I'm leaving, it's just simply an "ok" place to eat. Service was nice and very attentive from the moment you walk in the door. Food came out hot and tasted good. No complaints on the taste or quality of their food, it all tasted great and that part made up for the strange decor this place is surrounded by. This is definitely an odd place, one that appears to be from the owners taste directly because I doubt others picked out the interior design of this restaurant. Aside from the looks of the inside AND outside of the building the food wasn't bad at all and would recommend giving it a try if you want a decent breakfast and you're not to picky on what it looks like when you're dining.

The place could use some updating but the food is delicious! They make their bread homemade- so French toast made with their homemade bread! So good! Biscuits and gravy are excellent too...and the bacon is the thick good kind! Definitely don't judge a book by its cover this place is a hidden gem!

Solid breakfast/lunch joint. I had the "California Mess" which was a generous portion of hash browns with onions, green peppers, sausage and cheese, with eggs on the top. They do their own bread, and the white toast is surprisingly good, I think they grill it on one side. Prices are very reasonable for portions and quality. Service is prompt and attentive. Food comes out quick. This would be a very good place to bring a large group. Furniture has seen better days but the dining area is clean and spacious. Decorations abound. Has a very "family-owned" feel to it. There is a "regulars" vibe you don't get in a chain restaurant. The staff knows many of the customers by name, and vice-versa. I wish I lived closer, I would hit this place up at least weekly. When I'm in the area again, will definitely give these guys another visit.

We just cannot say enough great things about this awesome place !!!! The breakfast is always fresh, delicious ! The service is impeccable and the cook is FAST!!!!!!!!!! It feels like when we sit down, our food is in front of us within five minutes. We are always amazed. This morning I had the pork chops and eggs and it was the best pork chops I've ever had. The pancakes are cooked crispy just like I like them. My husband loves the hash and the hashbrowns. Cooked crispy and always fresh!!!! It's worth the drive over from our hood !!! U WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!

Food was good. Service was really good. Only thing this place needs to be updated it look like an old Granny dirty house. I'm sorry don't think I'll be back.

Great food and huge portions. The only thing that was a miss was the waitress. She never offered my husband a refill of coffee. After we were done, we waited and waited and waited for her to bring the ticket and for me to ask for a to go box. She was too busy chatting away with another table. I had to walk my plate up to the counter to get a box. Next time I'll order to go.

We had a terrible experience. The restaurant is filthy. There is a coating of dust on everything, ketchup bottles and hot sauce bottles are crusted over. Nasty. Of the 3 of us, only one had a meal that was edible. We sent the rest back. They do not have butter!!! It is a BREAKFAST place and no butter. They serve trans-fat spread with your pancakes or toast. We will never go back.

I love popping in to hole-in-the-wall greasy spoons! This place did not disappoint. Very open and friendly family style restaurant. The kitchen was fast, food piping hot. Biscuits are made from scratch - don't miss out on these! Staff is attentive and welcoming. I'll definitely add this place to my go-to list!

Absolutely shocked to see that this place has been given 4 stars, and the gushing 5 star reviews. I live a block or so from this place, and would have loved for it be be great...or even GOOD...but it was not! Food did not taste fresh, and was poorly prepared. Coffee was disgusting. Place had a funky odor that did not smell clean. Much better places a few minutes drive from here to try, but this is NOT the place for an amazing hole-in-the-wall meal. Wont be back. Two stars is generous.

Absolutely delicious food and atmosphere, Candice and Melissa were both lovely hosts and made us feel right at home. We can't wait to come back, the prices just can't be beat for the quality and quantity. Would recommend

Old place but food was delicious, they are always busy when i have gone but service is quick for the amount of customers they have .

It's Saturday afternoon around 11. The place seemed a little busy, but there were several booths open. It was open seating, so we sat right by the front door. This is definitely what you would call a greasy spoon. It took a while to get water or menus brought to the table. When they finally arrived, we ordered as quickly as possible, cuz we had a feeling we were going to be waiting for a while. The food finally came, my sister had to wait 15 minutes before she got her toast. My sister ordered an omelette with onions cream cheese and bacon. Which she thoroughly enjoyed. And she got some fried potatoes that were not seasoned in any way shape or form. She basically finished our entire meal when the toast arrived. At this point. My pancakes are brought to the table and they were hard on one side and overcooked. I mean like they were crunchy. And the toast was fried. I'm not really sure how to explain it! But trust me this is not normal toast. I receive some fresh pancakes finally! Guess what? There was batter running out of them. Melissa was our server. She was incredibly nice, very apologetic! It was not her fault that the kitchen staff is the way that it is. We both agreed to NEVER return and never speak of this place again.

They are located in a great spot cause very little competition around for this type of dinning. It looks rough and has poor signage for the entrance but common sense will get ya in. The set up is not customer friendly and it might not be the newest and cleanest, but they make up for it with old time service and good food. It is what you make of it eh

(Alta Mesa location) We've lived in the neighborhood for years and never stopped by. We finally made it in today. The whole place needs to be decluttered and DEEP cleaned. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. Our food arrived fast and hot. Everything LOOKED delicious, but it wasn't. They're proud of the homemade bread which is dense and dry-I sent it back for pancakes, which weren't any better. The chicken fried steak is frozen. The potatoes and grits didn't have any flavor at all. They charged us $2 for old, dried out avocado. An absolute waste of time and money. We won't be back. If you're looking for a mom and pop shop with good food--this ain't it.

The lady server was really pleasant. The food was warm and fresh. Ambience was ok-- typical of a breakfast place. All in all great breakfast place I would recommend in Fort Worth.

Consistently the very sweetest waitstaff I have EVER come across. The food is good, diner style. Large menu. If you are looking for a pristine hipster, kombucha serving trendy spot, this isn't it. However, if you are looking for a good, honest, family owned breakfast spot, with the kindest, sweetest waitstaff, this is your spot.

Great place, great food and great service! Melissa took care of us and she is amazing! Ask for her, she is fun and you will leave there smiling just because of her. The food was incredible. I had the veggie omelette, 1 pancake (they are huge and delicious), home fried potatoes and toast which is huge, homemade, and fantastic. I don't go out for breakfast often but this is my new breakfast place. It's 17 minutes from my house and there are several places 5 minutes from my house, but I can't imagine going anywhere else after eating there this morning for the first time.

Love it here! Truly a neighborhood jewel. The breakfast is always fresh and hot. Not to mention they know you like you're family. The bacon and pan sausage taste homemade. Not to mention the omelette and fluffy biscuits. OMG We just left from there and already plotting our next visit

The whole first time experience was amazing. Many food options. Portion sizes are large too. Prices are great too. Food was good. Definitely homemade.
