Yelp
I came into Rise blindly, not looking at Yelp because we wanted to look into cupcakes or cakes for a party. The reviews are pretty mixed, but we had a great experience here. Walking in, we were greeted by the really friendly staff. The store itself is nice and clean and have a nice display case right as you walk in. The cashier gave us a run down of the menu. They have an everyday menu with your basic cupcakes, and they also have a rotating menu every day of the week. Some people say they have a small selection, but I found it just right and not overwhelming.
If someone takes the time and cleverly names their products, you have a happy customer in me. It's the little things that makes me happy. We decided to go with four cupcakes to take home and sample. The four we purchased were The Real Cookie Monster, Rocky Road, Red Velvet, and Not So Thin Mint. The names basically have a description in itself. My personal favorite was the The Real Cookie Monster. I have never really had cookie butter before, but now I can't get enough of it because of this cupcake. I know now what I have been missing out on. It is a chocolate chip cookie butter cake, with a cookie butter buttercream. I always appreciate a cake or cupcake with buttercream over whip cream. Not to be outdone, the Not So Thin Mint tasted just like the girl scout cookie. Minty, but not overwhelmingly minty. It also had the added bonus of a thin mint garnish on top. The Rocky Road was delicious as well with a marshmallow topping. The Red Velvet was uh like any other red velvet honestly. What stood out about all the cupcakes compared to some other place we have been was that they were all nice and moist. Sometimes you go to a shop and get the stuff displayed and though they may look great, they are super dry. Not the case here.
I will definitely be back to make my way through that delicious rotating menu!
