Why Is NYC Kellogg’s Diner Selling Food Under 18 Different Restaurant Names on Delivery Apps? | Eater NY

"I noted Rise and Grind Cafe as a virtual brand operating out of Kellogg’s whose online pricing can be dramatically higher than the diner’s in-person menu — a bacon, egg, and cheese ordered through the virtual brand might cost $20 compared with $7.45 at Kellogg’s." - Luke Fortney

Google
Came in for their bucket of coffee and it didn’t disappoint. Love the fact they have a decaffeinated option. There is a lot of different options for coffee and tea. Placed an online order and food was good. My husband got the Maryland mouthful on a cinnamon raisin bagel and I got the big rise on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. Line is long but moves fairly quickly. Super cute cafe and would definitely return when we are in the area or driving pass.

Google
Cute cafe - was pleasantly surprised! We enjoyed the botanical courtyard seating area. The bagels sandwich’s were yummy. Plus neat makers market attached to it open on the weekends! (Got some homemade bread and goat soap) Also a lunch cafe connected with some great options for sandwich’s and salads! They have a good thing going - would recommend a visit!

I just moved to the area and had high expectations for this place. Very cute inside and great atmosphere- the cashier was great and knowledgeable. However, after ordering it took 34 minutes for my toasted bagel and croissant sandwich. When I noticed the time I saw an order up that had been placed 12 minutes after ours and was 3 breakfast sandwiches - I asked and they said they were waiting on the toasted croissant… unfortunately, once we received our food, it was cold and soggy. Clearly had been siting in the back for 20 mins. The jalapeño bagel was dense, no air in the dough. I’m not sure if it was toasted or warm, if it would be good or not… it’s hard to say since it seemed they forgot about our order. The croissant sandwich with egg and bacon was also cold. Had so much potential. The coffee was great and the staff were friendly. 2 stars because I rate based almost entirely on food. I wish I could give this place another try, but I almost just tossed my bagel in the trash so, I can’t say that I will. It was not a great first impression of our new town cafe.

Google
By far my favorite local coffee spot! I’m an hour away but tried this place for my birthday in July, and Ive come atleast twice a week since. Tons of drink options, very consistent with how they’re made and the breakfast sandwiches are delicious. Highly recommend.

Google

Google
Worth the hype. Great coffee, not acidic. Beautiful interior and exterior. Lovely small businesses attached.

Google
Cute coffee shop with sandwiches and baked goods. Only open until 2 pm. Only street parking, but I found a municipal lot across the street behind the municipal building that fit my truck. Has additional seating and an additional restroom in the shared seating when you walk through the enclosed patio. Was busy when we stopped on our way to the zoo, that it was hard to read everything on the menu. Can check out a menu ahead of time online. Has a table area with books and a wooden tic tac toe board for the little ones. Saw some teenagers with laptops, but did not check for wi-fi. Great local place to stop and explore the little town.

Google
Came to rise ‘N Grind during sunfest today. The staff is super nice! Despite the large event they are busting out coffee buckets left and right. We explored a new flavor of latte and didn’t like it, the staff without question said would you like something else! Can’t say enough about them. If you happen to be in rising sun, it’s a must stop.

Yelp
Always a treat to visit this super cute coffee shop whenever I am in the area. It's also a terrific place to meet friends or just go to have a quiet and welcoming work space. There's a cozy couch area, tables/chairs, and even a small bar area where you can sit and look out at Main Street. They recently connected to the building next door and enclosed a super cute breezeway and adorned it with plants and such to make a nice relaxing space. This is located on the Main Street with a few parking spots out front (parallel parking), but there's also a back shared lot, as well as side street parking in the cross street. This place has all the possible caffeine and non caffeine drinks you could ever want. There's seasonal goodies that they get creative with as well. There's also a smoothie menu, breakfast menu, and other food options. The bakery goods are always a treat since they are mostly made in house. They do have a low carb option with a frittata and you can always throw a breakfast meat on top of it as well. You will not go hungry here. You will even want to take stuff to go. I always get the Americano and the protein energy balls which are the perfect combination of salty and a touch of sweetness. The frittata is also very good. They easily accommodate any kind of order you may want. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They call your name when your order is done and now have another system of giving you a buzzer for when your order is ready. Always great employees who are smiling and doing their best to get your order to you. They do have merchandise to promote their cafe, and even a super cute retail space in the very back. There's also some locally owned items sprinkled throughout the cafe for you to browse and purchase. They even have some super fun treats for the four legged family members. Just a lovely vibe and a great little local place where you can spend a great morning/afternoon catching up with friends or spending some alone time lost in a book or working,

Yelp
Fabulous breakfast cafe with interesting decor thoughtfully making use of a former, vacant bank building. How nice! The associates smile and welcome each guest. The food is ready quickly and well organized. It's delicious, reasonably priced. A wonderful experience and I will most definitely return. Highly recommended. Good job!

Yelp
What a cute place! We ordered a London fog, iced apple cider, a Maryland mouthful, a caprese on a bagel and some additional bagels. Oh and a chocolate croissant. They seem to bag loose tea themselves with those non-plastic bags which is a huge bonus. Latte was great. Bagel sandwiches were great. Atmosphere was great. Will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Great cozy place went with my grandma to check it out and grab breakfast I got the grilled cheese and an ice coffee. Service was fast the food was hot and it was a great experience.

Yelp
The associates were all friendly! I enjoyed the inside environment! They have books for the kiddos and there are so many things to keep you busy with their gift shop! I know where the best place to get coffee at!

Aria K.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing service. The owner of the shop had a great conversation with my family and treated them with great hospitality. Got the iced sea salt caramel mocha latte, 10/10. Baristas are super friendly. The owner then showed me the restaurant that's connected and shared her story of it being a family run business! Beautifully decorated with a lot of seating both indoor and outside. There's also a cute gift shop in the back.

Yelp
First time here on a recommendation. The great news, this place is awesome with a great feel and vibe. We had the Caprese and the Big Rise which were "bring me back to this place again" kinda sandwiches. We also tried the apple cider donuts. We love this kind of donut and tried them probably every where haha. Milburn is our favorite but this one here was better. Sorry no pictures of these because we were trying and kept eating. Sad news, we both ordered flavored iced lattes, and we couldn't tell the difference between the two even though they were different flavors. More pumps please. This was disappointing however the espresso used was good with the milk. In other sad news, picture posted, we sat on the comfy sofa with the coffee table that is a door and a glass top. My wife returned from getting napkins and was cut by the pointed edge of the glass top. I would highly recommend having them covered or shaved down to be rounded. This is dangerous especially to those with little ones who may be near. Be careful. I saw a lot of people with frozen drinks. We will venture back to try one of those and the ice cream thats from a creamery. Yum.

Yelp
Arriving on a busy holiday Monday morning, I was surprised by the long line-- only to discover they had already ordered, and were waiting for their food. The person taking our order greeted us warmly, and we quickly found two seats at a large table (family style). Enjoying our chai and Cafe Americano, other friendly diners joined us at the table. After approximately 5-8 minutes, our names were called and carefully wrapped food was brought to our table where we enjoyed our savory breakfast sandwiches. After finishing our meal, we continued our conversation, while comfortably enjoying the ambiance. It was a bit of a drive from Pennsylvania ... and yeah, I'll be back. It was worth it!

Yelp
The salted caramel iced frappe is delicious. Their donuts are awesome. They do sell out so get there early early. In fall They have a pumpkin spice muffin filled with cream cheese icing it is to die for. But they only have them at certain times so check their website or call. Can't say enough great things about this café/coffee shop. You can call ahead with your order and they'll have it ready when you get there. All the employees are unbelievably friendly. The atmosphere is wonderful for families, children and everyone there's even a small retail space and they also have plans for expansion to the building next-door, can't wait to see what they do!! 10 out of 10 in my book !! The owner is such a sweetheart !

Yelp
This is the cutest little spot in Rising Sun. Coffee was A+ and my son really enjoyed the strawberry banana smoothie! Our barista was very friendly and patient while I ordered with a not so patient 2 year old. :-) my only wish is that the sandwich selection was larger for lunch options.

Yelp
Always a huge fan of rise and grind. Come here every time I come home. Great ambiance, great coffee and great service. You can tell all the workers care about your experience. Great hometown coffee shop. Straight out of hallmark!

Yelp
My daughter goes to a local black box theater near by so I've popped into this place a few times. The team is always pleasant and helpful and the food is great! It has a cozy yet trendy atmosphere and there are plenty of places to sit. Even a small outside area that I have not used yet. This visit I had kids with me and they were busy but they were on top of their game. They did run out of an item I ordered but they came to our table to let me know and let me pick anything to backfill. I had an egg sandwich which was very good (sorry no pictures I was too hungry) and a chocolate scone which was amazing. Very good flavor, not too soft with a nice crust on the top. You got the butter note you should get out of a scone! The cappuccino was prepared well and I drank every last drop on our way to the theater. They also have a little shop in the back with cool local things...check it out! Definitely stop by here as this is a little gem of a place in a small town.

Yelp
Ayyyyyye Rise N Grind I see you. Okay, huge improvement from years ago. Sandwiches are pretty darn good. I usually get the Maryland Mouthful. The coffee is decent, but sometimes you've gotta check there is ice in your iced drink. Getting an iced latte that's lukewarm isn't a fun experience. The service is good and they're on it despite usually being super busy. The inside is cute and when it isn't packed, a nice place to sit. When they get it right though, it's 4.5 stars!

Yelp
Staying at Great wolf lodge but wanted to try a local breakfast spot. So glad we came here to Rise N Grind Cafe. The big rise and Canatabell Caprese sandwiches were delicious (scarfed them down before pic taken ) Pictured is the raspberry almond tea cake which is sublime. My husband who is not a dessert person said it was "probably one the best things I've ever had". My latte pictured below was great. I personally don't like the bitterness of coffee which this did not have at all. Smooth and not super sweet, added only one pump of hazelnut syrup. Overall definitely would recommend. The ambience and staff are an added positive bonus

Yelp
Always a treat when you go to this beautiful coffee shop in the lovely town of Rising Sun! Not just great coffee & specialty drinks but great bakery items such as our favorite, the almond croissants and cranberry muffin tops! You can also order flavored lemonade- we love the coconut and lavender! My very favorite is the chicken wrap - so good! A great place to spend time alone, or with family and friends. The seating area is small and cozy. There's also tables for outdoor seating. And they have a little shop inside with great little gift items. They also sell local wine, the cranberry is fabulous. Everyone that works there is simply wonderful. They have great Wi-Fi and you if you are lucky, you can grab a window seat and just watch the world go by. Saturday and Sundays can be kind of busy so just plan in advance. If you need to park, there is free parking on East and W. Cherry St. right around the corner. if not, there is free parking in front of the shop, but it is very limited. Definitely a place to stop for breakfast or lunch if you are in the area.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance are all great here and the shop is active in giving back to the community and in giving local artisans a place to show their wares. I love this place!

Yelp
My first visit and I have to say, best coffee that I've had in a while. We all get stuck drinking the same coffee at various places or at home & when you run into something new, and it's good....You really appreciate it! My wife and I visited with our young son and had a terrific time. It was very crowded and you could tell that they have some very loyal customers. We all had different food and everything was terrific. Very fresh and the preparation was spot on. The young man that took our order was so friendly and patient while we built our coffee orders. He was a great first impression of the people working there. The ambiance is so cool. We will be back. Thank you Rise & Grind.

Yelp
We dined in on a very busy Saturday morning. The line was almost out the door but it moved along steadily and we were at the counter in less than 10 minutes. Every table was filled when we arrived but turnover was good and we did not have to wait to be seated. Gluten-free options are limited to some gluten-free "balls" which were like nuts and dried berries rolled into a peanut butter ball. (You're out of luck if you are gluten sensitive AND nut-allergic!) The bagel sandwich I had was as good as it gets as was their traditional, Italian-style macchiato (not a sugar-laden Starbuck's mess.)

Yelp
The atmosphere at Rise N' Grind Cafe is warm and welcoming, along with the staff and locals. I've been going to this cafe for years now. The food is delicious and creative, and the choices of crafted coffee have never left me disappointed. As the seasons change, so do the offered specialty coffees and decor. It is a great place to do your work, spend time with friends, and/or go on that date you've been planning, whether that be with your crush, with Jesus, or both if you're doing it right ;) Saturday's are the most hoppin' in the late morning/afternoon time, but if you stick around, things calm down around 11:30-1:00... sometimes. I just wish this place was open a little later on week days, but I might have to say goodbye to my wallet if that becomes the case. Menu items can be a little pricey, but I never regret spending money here. Huge thanks to the family that invested in our community with a true wonder of a coffee shop in Cecil County, Maryland.

Yelp
Update: I've been here a 3 times now , I always order a soy iced latte. The first time I got it I thought it was good but the second and third time I got it it was not good, coffee tasted really bitter. Also I believe the first time I ordered a soy iced latte they must have made it with real milk not soy milk because it was too creamy compared to the 2nd and 3rd time I got it. The first time I thought it tasted like real milk after I took the first sip so I went to confirm that it was made with soy and they said yes, I believed them at the time but since then I've gotten the same drink twice and it did not taste as milky and was more watery which is the norm for soy milk iced lattes. Prob not coming back because I can't really trust that they make it with soy and that's an issue.

Yelp
Excellent service, delicious coffees and pastries. The ambience is unexpected in a small town. My favorite coffee place!

Kevin G.

Yelp
Love this place. I honestly didn't know how this would go over in our small town, but it is just what we needed! The owners and staff make this place what it is. Everyone is a local when you're there (even if you're not). The place always has special, unique drinks and in my mind, is known for its amazing home-baked everything - and if you're lucky enough to be around for the holidays, you have to get their pies!!
google avatar

Yelp
I have 2 local coffee shops, and a handful of Dunkins between my house and Rise n Grind. I will purposely go out of my way to go to Rising Sun for guaranteed deliciousness. My husband and I have a standing date on the weekends to get breakfast at Rise N Grind and we literally have never had something we didn't like. I'm really trying to test it, and try everything to see if there's anything subpar- but there's not! The specialty Lattes are to die for. My husband is always oddly pleased with how the lid, cup sleeve, & seam of the cup are ALWAYS lined up, which makes his OCD happy. The pastries, & breakfast sandwiches are with every single calorie. The environment is adorable and very much my Chip and Joanna Gaines aesthetic that I love. I love the girls who work there, always so kind and patient with my decision making. 10/10 highly recommend!

Yelp
Awesome vibe, atmosphere and love seeing a family (kiddos included) run a small business. Owner goes out of her way to greet every customer and make them feel appreciated. Downside (-1 star)--coffee is too acidic for my liking.

Debora M.

Yelp
A little pricey for a small town. No cold brew coffee
google avatar

Emily F.

Yelp
Nice little place right in middle of town. Not many other options in town so nice to have them here. They hire lots of young people that don't pay a lot of attention to what they are doing. I got a latte once that I know was made with cow's milk and not what I requested. Also, they have 24 reviews that Yelp is not publishing - a possible reason for this is that a lot were made on the same day. Also, reviews tend to get flagged when they are overwhelmingly positive or negative and if it is the only review the person has ever written on Yelp. You can draw your own conclusions as to why they would have 3 times this many hidden reviews than real ones and the integrity of them.
google avatar

Tabby H.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and pastries! The place is absolutely adorable inside and out. We were even greeted by live music when we walked in the door on a Sunday morning and that was awesome! The staff were super friendly and patient Can't wait to visit again!

Justin H.

Yelp
Best thing to happen to rising sun in a long time, awesome place and the staff are always very friendly

Yelp
Traveling through Rising Sun, we stopped in for a cappuccino and my "high maintenance" keto drink. Perfectly made coffee drinks and my dh got a delicious chewy crispy bagel. Super cute place with a cheery friendly staff. Looking forward to passing this way again!

Yelp
Really nice place to charge up and unwind. I love that they have Keyes Creamery ice cream. One of the best locally made ice creams around. Many coffee and other drink choices. Bakery items look amazing.

Noreen C.

Yelp
A few weeks back when this friendly coffee shop was celebrating Maryland Day, we stopped in to get a cup of coffee to go. Well, the shop was decked out in Maryland flags, live music and crowds that were in a very festive mood. As each patron ordered their drinks, they had an option to participate in drawing to win an adorable coffee mug of their design. Of course, I participated thinking why not give it a chance. Lo' and behold, my ticket was chosen for one of the two mugs! I got SO excited because not only the odds of winning, but the mug has the name of the coolest town's name: Rising Sun, Maryland. When I got in contact with Rise 'N Grind, I spoke to a very friendly young lady named Katie. I told her I was from out town and couldn't pick it up, so they mailed it to me! I opened it up today, and this mug was packed so carefully and the postage was a bit high, but they were good to their word and treated me more than just a customer. Oh, the coffee was super yummy! Thank you Katie and crew! I just LOVE my mug!

Jamie M.

Yelp
I came in for a simple coffee, I will never stop in again. Their coffee tastes like it has been sitting for days. I am not saying that it has. But the coffee at McDonald's is better than this! I was expecting a better brew than what they have.

Victoria S.

Yelp
When I heard Rising Sun was getting a new coffee shop, I was so excited! I went and was so impressed by the way they decorated! They took a run down part of our tiny town and made it so nice! Unfortunately, I was disappointed by their coffee. I've gotten a few different drinks - lattes, vanilla lattes, a cappuccino, and iced coffee - and all have the same reaction. The coffee simply doesn't taste good. It's such a bummer because everything else is good! The flavors are yummy, the foam is perfect, but the coffee itself (brewed and espresso) tastes bad. I'm not sure if it's burned, or if it's the type of coffee beans, but I usually drink half of my drink and dump the rest. The breakfast sandwiches and muffins are decent. The sandwiches could have more on them (they're a bit skimpy), but the bagels and bacon are delicious. It's such a bummer because I really want to support this local business. It's just, with the quality of the coffee, it's become a bit of a waste.
google avatar

Monnie R.

Yelp
They got bagels that are great just wish they had bagel sandwiches like porkroll egg and cheese on the bagels. Over did it on the butter with the bagel. Decaf Coffee had a weird taste.

Yelp
Delicious baked goods, hand dipped ice cream, all the important coffee choices. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. I tried the Sweet, creamy strawberry cheesecake and Raspberry Lemoncello Cake on opening day. Go, Go, Go. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Jacob H.

Yelp
Amazing picturesque, local coffee shop in the heart of Rising Sun. The shop not only serves delicious coffee, but also yummy hand dipped ice cream and pastries! As a coffee connoisseur, I assure you that the coffee they make here is outstanding. My go to order is the iced almond milk latte, but from asking my friends and family, every drink is splendid. The decor of the coffee shop puts you in a good mood. The family that owns the coffee shop makes you feel apart of them. Since it is family owned and operated, the employees are super nice and conversational. I highly recommend making the drive if you are from the nearby area because it is much better than the chains.
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
I'm a big fan. They turned a run down old building into a really cool coffee hang out. I see friends old and new every time I stop in. The owners area great people and the staff are always friendly. Plus the name is pretty cool!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
The best cafe in Cecil County. Great people who know how to make a coffee or espresso drink the way it should be made. Delicious breakfast sandwiches.
google avatar

Suzanne R.

Yelp
Awesome local coffee shop. Coffee is wonderful and the homemade baked goods are delectable. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Cafe is charmingly decorated and inviting. My favorite local hangout.

Yelp
Great service, family run. And yummy stuff! And yummy ice cream and coffee. Great atmosphere! And lovely decor. Apple cider donuts!!

Yelp
I love Rise N Grind. Angie is lovely and smart. The counter folk are pleasant and warm. Did I menu. I gained ten pound the first few months they opened.

Akiko B.

Yelp
Their scones are amazing. Coffee is great. So grateful we have such a nice coffee shop in town.

James S.

Yelp
Just a great place to go to enjoy good coffee and baked goods. The ambience is awesome and it's a great place to sit and talk to everyone in town who visits this establishment. Having only been open a few months, you can tell that it has been welcomed well. Just a suggestion to those who visit, parking is limited in front of Rise N Grind, so your best bet is to park in the municipal parking lot by Sun Pharmacy and take a short stroll over. There's no drive thru, which is what makes this place great.....you actually get to interact with the people who frequent this shop and work there. When in Rising Sun, check this place out. The Blueberry muffins are fantastic by the way!

Shannon S.

Yelp
LOVE this little place! The decor inside is so inviting! Just what the town needed! Their coffee (specially the bog latte) is delicious along with everything on their menu! Always stop in when I come home for a visit!

Heather R.

Yelp
I am surprised there aren't many reviews for Rise n Grind. This is an amazing, small town, family owned AND operated coffee shop. Not only are their coffees and food items fantastic, they continue to expand their menu. Their community involvement is astounding. Rise n Grind is everything a small town coffee shop should be and more! Don't miss it.

Kelly F.

Yelp
My third trip to this cute little coffee shop in Rising Sun, which is a 30 minute drive from my home. First trip, we loved everything about it. Second trip was the weekend of their anniversary celebration, and it was very busy. We waited a long time for our food and drinks, and I was disappointed in both. The drink was probably my poor choice trying something new, so I don't fault them for that. I didn't like the fried egg on my bagel sandwich either. I checked that off as a thumbs down, but wanted to give them another try. This past weekend went there with my son. This time I ordered a hot vanilla chai tea ( which was delicious). I asked for a scrambled egg on the sandwich, which the cashier noted and I paid. It was again very busy (good for them!) and we found the last table available. Our sandwiches came out surprisingly fast, but disappointingly the server said "sorry but we don't do scrambled eggs, the new cashier didn't know. Hope that's okay." I was not given the opportunity to order something else or change that order. I don't know why they wouldn't offer a scrambled egg on a sandwich- it can't be that much extra time to do. I won't be ordering again until they do. The biggest reason for the lackluster review is that after our sandwiches came out, it took about 20 minutes more for the drinks to come out. We were both completely done our food by then. This is not acceptable! Please please advise your staff how to ensure drinks and food come out about the same time when customers order food. And please please offer scrambled egg on your otherwise tasty bagel sandwich!

Diane L.

Yelp
Great place to stop for cup of coffee and pastry , coffee was smooth and just right . Owners friendly and welcoming , interior space comfortable and inviting
