Rise Southern Biscuits & Righteous Chicken - Thousand Oaks

The biscuits were so good! We ate lunch here and it was yummy! It’s very filling too. You self order and they bring it to your table or you can take it to go. I had the Egg, cheese and bacon sandwich and I really liked it. My husband ordered the Chicken sandwich on the Brioche bun and he enjoyed that too. It’s all tasty, but it is pretty filling. The restaurant is clean and there’s outside seating.

Legit solid chicken sandwich (add a runny egg) decent options to add to it. Great tots. Definitely worth a try if it’s a treat yourself kind of day. I’d come here as a chickfila replacement too. Atmosphere is nil, everyone else is picking up to go. Self service counter. Really friendly helpful service in the kitchen - to give it enough of a vibe. Food tastes better than presentation.

The sandwiches are somewhat underwhelming. Everything was okay, at least good enough to warrant me trying it a second time. The sandwiches seemed better than a Chick-fil-A, but not by much. The southern chicken sandwich with pimento cheese actually had a reasonable amount of cheese spread on it, when I got a similar sandwich from Chick-fil-A, it had a teaspoon of the cheese on it (not exaggerating, you can see my review of Chick-fil-A with an image of the sandwich as sold to me versus what they advertise…it was embarrassing that they could let a sandwich out the door that was that pathetic). I also got the Rise Nashville hot chicken sandwich, it was alright. The spices were not noteworthy, but I enjoyed eating it. Overall, there was nothing amazing about the place, if you want a great chicken sandwich you need to go somewhere like Dave’s Hot Chicken or Main Chick Hot Chicken, etc. If you want something better than the Carls Jrs and Chick-fil-As of the world, you can come here.

I ordered from this place and the breakfast box i got is so good! I have never heard of this place until today. I will definitely try eating in at their location next time.

Always friendly and helpful. Their power was out the first time I went and couldn't take orders or pay. I honestly just wanted a plain biscuit and they gave me one free of cost! My son loves this place and often asks for it. I only wish we could call in orders. As a mom who's constantly driving kids from one place to another it would be simpler to simply call the order in rather than online. When I person I would also prefer to place my order with a person rather than a screen. Call me old fashioned, but the human interaction is better and faster.

It is a delicious and unique menu. It is of high quality. The appearance of the food looks beautiful. The packaging is beautiful and looks expensive. The service is very good. I am very impressed.

Perfect Breakfast Sandwich! Stopped by Rise Southern Biscuits & Righteous Chicken for a to-go order, craving a late morning breakfast sandwich, and I was not disappointed! The Sweet Country Blues sandwich with egg and cheese was absolutely amazing. The combination of sweet and savory flavors was spot on, and the biscuit was perfectly flaky and delicious. Each bite made my mouth water! If you're looking for a flavorful, satisfying breakfast, this place definitely hits the mark. I'll be coming back for more soon--highly recommend it!

I wanted to get breakfast in bed for my lady and this place was close by. We got 2 sausage egg biscuit sandwiches, the blueberry beignets (with vanilla icing dip), and 2 coffees. The coffee specifically is self serve, and you can pick between ice and hot coffee. They even have flavored creamers so you can add a little extra kick to your morning joe. Personally that's a big deal for me. When I walked in every employee was working behind the counter like a well oiled machine. They have a system of lockers that keeps your food hot and fresh during pickup. My order was ready the moment I walked in the door. Everything was delicious and we'll definitely be coming back for a weekend treat. (Can't eat biscuits and gravy everyday and make it to 80 unfortunately haha).

This review is long overdue. My mom and I first ate here after seeing how long of a wait time eggs n things was and we were getting hangry and needed to be on the road to get me to the airport. We stumbled upon Rise on accident trying to find a place and once we were in we were greeted by who I assume is the owner or manager and he guided us on the menu and how to order. My mom and I LOVED their food and I've gone back 3 more times ever since! As a girl with southern roots their food is fresh and their biscuits taste homemade. I also love that they offer blueberry biscuits and beignets! 10/10 recommend!

When in Nashville we patronized a Rise store location. Fantastic sandwiches. So, when we saw one was opening in Thousand Oaks we were excited. Same high quality here with excellent service! Come hungry because their sandwiches are filling. Enjoy

Food was phenomenal. I got the Hot honey butter chicken with all the fixens ! Instead of the traditional bun I got the blueberry biscuit. For anyone with an affinity for sweet and savory this is your perfect match. The owner greeted us when we came in and gave us a rundown of all the options they had. We choose to eat outside to catch the nice breeze. This was a perfect spot to get the day started. Highly recommend!

Famous for their fresh buttermilk biscuit dough. Yes it was soooo soft fresh and crispy tasty. I ordered the righteous chicken sandwich which is easy on the spice but I think that's perfect for this city. For those who needs spice go for the Nashville chicken. I also tried the tater tots which is all made to order crispy quality. The blueberry buttermilk side biscuit is sooo warm fluffy and delicious keeps you wanting more. Nice feel good comfort food here. Thank you to the welcoming friendly staff too.

Had their blueberry biscuit sandwich with sausage and their bacon, egg, and cheese with a cheddar biscuit. Both were really good! A little dry but what can you do with biscuits. Loved the balance of sweet and salty with the blueberry sausage sandwich. Will definitely get that again!

Wow. This is easily the best biscuit I've had out. Service was quick and friendly. One gentleman came out and explained how the menu worked which was so sweet. We tried two of the biscuit chicken sandwiches, one with a cheddar biscuit and the other with a blueberry biscuit. Both were out of this world, flaky buttery and delicious. Ambiance was casual - order at the kiosk and find a seat. Please open a location in Phoenix so we can try everything else on the menu

First of all, I had no idea I worked right next to this amazing establishment. Second of all, the food was absolutely amazing. I never knew biscuits could taste this delicious. The eggs, the biscuits, the flavor, all of it was amazing. If I could recommend a breakfast spot this would be it! Definitely coming back here for more.

I've been trying to find a biscuit spot and this place is better than Bojangles hands down. You'll have to try their blueberry biscuit!

I love the breakfast sausage egg cheese biscuit! And those cheesy grits! The crispy tater tots and the cheese large tots are the bomb! Yum

I had my sights set on the Righteous Chicken Biscuit and a side of Cheesy Grits - talk about starting the day off on the right foot! First things first, that biscuit? Fluffier than a cloud on a sunny day! And the chicken? Golden-brown perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. Now, let's chat about those Cheesy Grits. Creamy, dreamy, and downright delicious. They nailed the seasoning, and the cheese? It was like a gooey hug in every bite. There's a tiny hiccup. The ordering system was a tad complicated, and finding a seat was like playing musical chairs. Knocking off one star for that, but hey, when the food's this good, it's worth a little hustle.

Rise is located at the Conejo Plaza near Ralph's & CVS, right next door to Robeks Juice & Topper's. Plenty of free parking available. There are a couple of tables & chairs inside & a few tables/chairs out in front... Hours are 7am-2pm & they offer Breakfast & Lunch. Online ordering was quick & payment was easy. Got the email confirmation & pick up time. As I was driving, I got a text saying my order is ready, & it was before the actual pick up time, sweet! If ordering In-Store, head over to the counter & self order on their Kiosks. Fyi: They don't accept cash, just credit/debit/Google payments. When you go in for a pick up, go towards the counter & at the very left corner there's a screen w/ order status. They have these lockers that keep your food warm... You simply select your name on the keypad that's located on the left side of the lockers, then find the illuminated locker. Mine had a lil sign saying to ask for my donut. So I just asked one of the staff for my donut. It was already bagged w/ my name on it. Note: That was the only interaction I had w/ a staff member at Rise. Which was okay, Bec I didn't need help w/ anything else, since I was just doing a pick up order. Food: I ordered a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit. I chose the Cheddar Biscuit for my sandwich & paid extra for Cheddar Cheese. Ordered a runny egg, which came out just how I expected... Just note, if you get a runny egg, & are eating in your car, it will be a bit messy. I almost made a mess in my car as I was devouring that delicious Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit sandwich w/ the egg yolk dripping off lol. Yum! I got a Blueberry Biscuit. It was warm, so I took a bite. It was Fluffy & I was surprised it had a good amount of blueberries in it, mmm so good. It was actually still good the next day, as it was still soft... Fyi: I saw that another Yelper had ordered her sandwich with a blueberry biscuit. I will definitely try that next time! :) The Apple Fritter was separate from the hot food since it's a donut. Not bad. Should be eaten fresh. It did hold up for me at the end of the night when I was having another sweet tooth. Interesting concept w/ the food lockers. Had a great experience. I definitely need to come back to Rise & try their Chicken, since it's just Righteous. I'm also eyeing those Dang Boxes too haha. Note: Don't expect a lot of interaction from the staff, unless you need assistance when ordering in store, as they are busy making those fresh biscuits.

this might be one of the most disgustin meals i've ever had in my life. I ordered for myself and friend and the grits have a funny taste and the breakfast sandwich was gross too. so disappointing because I wanted to like this

We've eaten at Rise twice coming off call at the local hospital and boy, they don't disappoint! Biscuits breakfast sandwiches with runny egg are so delicious and the biscuits are so huge and fluffy! The first time we dined inside and the second time we ordered for pickup. If you're in a hurry, order ahead using the website and your food will be ready in these holding boxes which keep the food nice and warm! Workers are super friendly and will help you order in-house on the kiosk with no problems!

The biscuits are huge and I can barely finish one on my own. They are always fast and delicious. I always get a side of gravy to dip my sandwiches in and it makes it even better.

We drive from Simi just for Rise!! Order yourself makes it easy to c customize, kitchen is visible clean and staff works quick! The food is delicious, biscuits are perfectly flakey but moist. Seriously so good! Absolutely love all their items. Thick good bacon, flavorful sausage, perfectly crispy tater tots or okra. Love this place! Don't miss out

Service was quick and so friendly! I felt well-taken care of, and the food came out super fast. Food was delicious, was so thrilled to find vegetarian gravy. The biscuits were the best I've had, fluffy and layered with the perfect amount of tangy buttermilk. I'd go back just for the biscuits alone, and it's a thirty minute drive without traffic. The gravy was delicious. The beignets were good, but definitely not what I was expecting. Firmer than a traditional one, and not as fluffy. If you're expecting a light, donut texture like the ones from Disneyland, you'll be confused.

Great food!! My favorite breakfast is a biscuit and friend chicken and honey sandwich that I can never find and this place did not disappoint! Fresh biscuit and great chicken! The customer service is top notch! Super friendly and helpful! Looking forward to this as a treat again!

The biscuits are as good as any I've had in the South. The fried chicken is expertly prepared. It's nice and juicy and the breading is perfect IMO. I tried a glazed donut that my daughter ordered. It was OK in my estimation, but I'm not a donut afficionado. The fact that the self-serve computer terminals are a dumb idea is self-evident as an employee had to go out every two minutes to explain it to every customer that stepped up to the counter. I associate biscuits and fried chicken with Southern hospitality from a human being with "natural intelligence". So -1 star for the computer BS. However, I will certainly be back to try some grits!

It's been too long since my last visit! I ordered the Protein Box with chicken, bacon, and scrambled eggs on top of a biscuit this time. Same excellent food and service as on my previous visit. If you haven't tried yet, you should.

You've got to try Rise--it's the real deal. The bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit is unreal. The biscuit is buttery and flaky, and they don't skimp on the bacon or cheese. Every bite is just chef's kiss. The blueberry biscuit is so good. Sweet, soft, and loaded with blueberries, plus that little glaze on top--perfect with coffee. You can have that on the bacon egg and cheese and have the perfect sweet and savory sandwich. Also, their cinnamon rolls are straight-up dreamy and the donuts are absolute fire. Honestly everything we got was amazing and so was the staff. Will definitely be back!

Obsessed with the stuffed tots, the glazed blueberry biscuit, and the beignets with vanilla dipping sauce. The beignets are fluffy and delicious. I absolutely love the taste of the south right here in my neighborhood... which is located way far from the south! The location is super clean and I love how techie it is. I love ordering on my phone and picking up at their cool little lockers. The food is just delish. I am on a mission to try all their menu items. So far I'm not disappointed. The owner is so nice and has such a nice warm vibe. He hugs you (not literally) when he greets you. The music is usually popping. Random story: The one time I had to wait longer than expected, I received a free doughnut (cinnamon roll). Which I thought it was lucky as heck because that particular day I wanted a cinnamon roll and my husband forgot to order. He said he would go back to get it but I said nah no worries. He then mentioned to me that he got a free item because he had to wait a bit longer. When we got home I was sooooooo happy yo see the roll. Anyway GO EAT SOMETHING GOOD TODAY.

Speaking only on breakfast food here, their breakfast sandwich, bacon egg and cheese biscuit is one of my absolute favorite things. It's just a perfect breakfast treat. Always tempted to try new things but can never get myself to try anything different.

Hey now! This place has no business being this good! An unassuming location in a parking lot really hides this place's ability to knock your socks off. The chicken is top notch! Seasoned perfectly and cooked fresh! Everything is hot and fresh and cooked to order. You order at a kiosk that looks directly into the kitchen but if you have any questions the people are right there to help. We got some fried okra and tater tots to go with our chicken and biscuits and even they were well seasoned and cooked crispy! Not a big sit in place but there are some tables. I really hope this place expands and comes a little closer to LA one day because they really know what they're doing over there.

This place is absolutely wonderful!! Cheese grits are so good, I felt I was back in the south. The chicken is well seasoned and fried, and the biscuits are so soft, and pillowy, and pure perfection when it comes to biscuits! They got some good sweets too! The cinnamon roll and beignets were good as well.

We had read about RISE, a North Carolina chain that had recently spread to the west coast, but we forgot about it until we were driving through the Conejo Valley Plaza after finishing a great workout in the Thousand Oaks area. As we were driving, it was a giant poster of cinnamon rolls that first caught our eye. While we didn't try what ended up being Cinnamon Roll Donuts, we were in fact blown away by their "Righteous Chicken and Southern Biscuits!!" When we walked inside, we loved seeing how bright and open the space is. The front of the store has sleek counters and a modern-looking kiosk where customers can easily place orders. The other side of the store has a locker system for pickup orders. Bill, the owner, came up to us and introduced himself. He was super friendly and helpful, and he immediately gave us his top recommendations along with some interesting combinations to try! He told us that the blueberry biscuits, chicken boxes (chicken strips, fries, and a biscuit), and cheesy tots are some of their best sellers. His personal favorite? A Chicken with Blueberry Biscuit & A fried egg on top! Definitely speaking our language, Bill. We decided to try a chicken biscuit, one plain and the other smothered in a tasty Nashville hot sauce (It gave "an elevated Tajin sauce"). We HAD to add a blueberry biscuit, since we were told that they were not just popular, but life-changing. The chicken was juicy, and the regular biscuit was flaky, warm, and buttery. The blueberry biscuit was somethin' else. It was filled with fresh, plump blueberries and finished with a light glaze that made the biscuit literally melt in our mouths. Almost like a donut. We were hooked from the first bite. We have since been back several times and have tried the chicken boxes and cheesy tots. The chicken is always piping hot and the breading is light, so you can really enjoy the juiciness of the chicken. The tots are crispy, perfectly cheesy, and pleasantly different from any other tots we've had. We are so happy that RISE has opened its doors, because we now have a new favorite spot for breakfast and lunch in Thousand Oaks! You gotta try this place!

The food is always spot on. From the bacon, egg and cheese to the veggie blues. Everything is awesome and the employees deserve a raise asap rocky.

I ordered the Egg and Cheese Biscuit and it was one the best things I've eaten. The portion is double compare to Chic-fil-a and the quality is even better as they use top vendors to produce their biscuits sandwiches (pictured) I will come here again and try other item on the menu. This is hidden gem that people should try and check out if they are in the Thousand Oaks area.

Let me start with the service here. The man who helped us at the front went through the menu with us, explained how to use the kiosk, and offered not only recommendations but also additional help if needed. Once we figured out our order, the food came out at a reasonable time. The blueberry biscuit paired so good with the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. The ham sandwich was also a really good pick. We got an order of the tater tots as well, and they had a great crunch. The inside was small but its a super cute building, decorated with biscuits on the walls and everything is conveniently located. I will definitely be coming back here again.

We ordered online but if you go in person, they have kiosks where you order yourself anyways so same thing. We had been here a couple times before so we know that they might take a little longer making the order so we decided to order ahead of time. The food was very delicious and filling. Needless to say their biscuits are very fresh and delicious and huge. Our son likes that you can build your own biscuit and they have a lot of discounts if you get their app.

Geez Louise! Am I glad I stopped here for lunch. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and the cheddar biscuit. First thing that popped into my head was "should I have gone to McDonald's?" When the total was $10. Then I realized McDonald's prices shot up. I'd have paid more and received so much less. These biscuits are OUT OF THIS WORLD. I'm not from around here but I look fwd to coming back. I've been to Louisiana and Texas... never had biscuits like this. Service was great. Nice greeting when you walk in. Self service tablets for easy ordering. I can't get over how thick and fluffy these biscuits were. Really filling. Really tasty. Next time I'm trying the box with the gravy and sausage, biscuit cut in half. Looked amazing but I had already ordered I ate it all before I could snap a pic. Don't judge me!

It has been a bit of a struggle to find flavorful comfort food here in TO but Rise never ever disappoints. The chicken is always cooked perfectly/never any questionable pieces (which is really important to me-theres nothing worse than biting into a piece of rubbery, uncooked chicken) and the buttermilk biscuits are to die for. We always build our own sandwich for maximum flavors . My favorite build: Buttermilk Biscuit, Righteous Chicken, Bacon, Nashville Hot Sauce and either Honey or Hot Honey Butter. My mom's favorite build: Blueberry Biscuit, Righteous Chicken, Bacon, Nashville Hot Sauce and either Honey or Hot Honey Butter. My husband's favorite build: Buttermilk Biscuit, Righteous Chicken, Bacon, Fried Egg, Nashville Hot Sauce, Cheddar Cheese and Honey.

The chicken biscuit sandwich is delicious. Crisp and hot. Great flavor and good portion.
