Rising Sun Distillery

Stopped by on a Wednesday around 2:30. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it was open so i decided to give them a try. Darryl (i hope i spelled that correctly) was the only one there. He explained that they didn’t have cocktails but would be more than glad to share their spirits with me. I tasted the Rye, Bourbon, and Angel and they were all amazing. Not harsh, almost friendly on the mouth. Really wanted to try the Apple Brandy but they were out. I’ll be back soon to taste that. We had good conversation and he recommended a few other spots i could check out while visiting Denver. Bought a bottle of the Angel to share with my friends back home.

We've been here many times, but after meeting Brad, we felt compelled to write a Google Review. Rising Sun makes some pretty good products. They have a great variety and we love trying their spirits. Brad, however was phenomenal. A wonderful bartender, he made us some tasty cocktails and we really enjoyed talking to him. He really made us feel welcome and at home, we could have spent hours here.

Hells yes. Great spirits to try. Staff was super knowledgeable and patient with the novices that we were.

A small group of friends and I recently enjoyed a private distillery tour at Rising Sun Distillery. Our host was kind, knowledgeable, and fun. EVERY spirit we tried was smooth and delicious. I'll be coming back.

This is an amazing small distillery. We got a tour from the owner which was very awesome! Their drink choices are very unique and handcrafted. The head distiller stopped by and talked about our drinks for a bit! It is also open air on nice days which is very nice!

My best friend loves vodka and thought it would be fun to tour a distillery for there birthday. Not only we learned about the process of distilling corn to make vodka but we also had a great time. We loved the cocktails and the personnel were very friendly.

This is a tiny distillery on Zuni in Denver. The owner did a very disinterested tour. There was a dog in the place whose bed was actually where he put the finished product in bottles. We arrived early to have a cocktail. Nope, no cocktails , no soda, no ice water, no ice just water from the tap. How anyone can say the tastings were good id beyond comprehension. Tasted more like a gasoline product. I would say say your time and $$ and steer clear.

post-tour tasting of all 10 of their products is worth the price alone. some really good products here, my personal faves were the bourbon, rye, lavender hibiscus liqueur, and the coffee liqueur. bartender was a super nice guy, too.

Would have loved to try some of their product but apparently they don't need the business. I personally don't buy craft beverages if I can't at least try it out first. Yelp had these folks as open but clearly they were not. Too bad because they had a couple of items I would have liked to try.

First of all, a female head distiller. Do I need to say more? No. But I will! After going to almost 20 distilleries I can say, if there is a woman on staff it will be top notch. Rising Sun is the poster child of proof. Rising Sun is a great marriage between great drinks and quality spirits. The drinks are perfectly invented so that I always get something new and fresh without their staff trying too hard. Don't expect to be weirded out with some unnecessarily outlandish creation. Do expect crisp and vibrant flavor in every drink or taste. It has everything from the cute, reclaimed school--style decor to the peek-a-boo view of the distillery. Yes, there are tours! There is no shortage of choices from liquor choices to drink choices. If you're serious about your tastings or want to try some interestingly infused liquors, they have that. If you and yours crave a craft drink, they have that. I came to try the wares and left with five bottles. Even for me that's a lot! You want a new liquor for the hair that bit the dog? Chili vodka for bloody Mary's. Do you want something light and refreshing, they have that. Lavender liqueur. Coffee that kicks? You guessed it, they have that. Coffee spirits! Too many too list all of their concoctions! There is bound to be a deliciously created liquor for whatever your buds crave. Both your taste buds, and your friends! The best part is it is all made with love and a welcoming smile. Their staff knows what they are talking about. They are friendly and well versed in the craft of distilling. And for those of you serious distillery lovers, they are a stop on the #cospiritstrail AND one of the founders of the first Hearts and Trails event. Which was fantastic btw!

The hubs and I got a deck of cards for a local Denver promotion and Rising Sun happened to be one of the BOGO specials in the deck. It was smart advertising as I hadn't been familiar with the distillery before. We came this past weekend and sampled our way through a fraction of the menu. I started with the lemon ginger shrub and added gin and the hubs got the dirty old man which was essentially an old fashioned. And then just to sample more, we got a 3 shot flight that included green tea, hibiscus-lavender and coffee vodka shots. I've not really been a vodka sipping sort of a gal so this was a new experience for me. The flavors in the shots were intense and I honestly couldn't do the coffee past one sip. The hibiscus-lavender was my favorite and had a sweeter finish. The green tea I diluted over the leftover ice from my delicious lemon ginger shrub cocktail. The bartender was really friendly and my husband and her chatted about flavor combinations and distilling until we had to leave for dinner reservations.

Would leave a zero stars if possible. Flew in from Florida 8 months ago and the guy that was there said he was the owner kinda blew us off until we told him we were buying bottles. Fast forward to September of this year and the site and calls said they were open. We show up first thing from our flight to pick up some bottles and they were closed and when they answered the phone they are blowing us off. This place is a waste if you are looking for whiskey or bourbon. This place is ran like a hobby not a business. Forget this place, much better places in Denver to visit and see

Super cute boutique, tasty fruity drinks. The location was interesting, small/intimate... There are two unisex bathrooms, which was nice.

Being a huge fan of alcohol, I was really excited to see a comedy show with seven other ladies for a much needed Mom's Night Out. The distillery is located in a smallish strip mall in the middle of an industrial neighborhood. Needless to say, I missed it the first time I drove by. The inside is cute but definitely on the small side. When you walk in the door, the bar is right in front of you, which sometimes blocked people from coming in when there was a long line for drinks. And, believe me, there was a long line for drinks because the owner was the only person behind the bar. The drinks are creative but definitely pricy. For the most part, they were in the $10 range. I tried a lavender lemonade with vodka that was delicious but gone far too quickly. Several friends ordered flights of different alcohols including peach brandy and some peppery gin. Everyone seemed really happy with their drinks. There were a few things that made up for the wait and price of booze. Parking was a cinch. One wall of the distillery is a garage door that opens for fresh air. Also, when I first walked in I noticed the distiller was talking with a table while they tried different alcohols, so I think tours might be possible. And the comedy night was hilarious. My sides still hurt from laughing.

Terrific new local distillery. The owner is knowledgeable and very friendly. My friends and I just had new off menu cocktails, and have thoroughly enjoyed our time at this new spot. It's gorgeous inside, and they do distillery tours as well.

This is worse place ever. There is a dog in the place, it is not clean. The owner was unkempt and appeared very disinterested. The samples were literally undrinkable and tasted like gasoline or something as awful. I think the board of health should investigate. Sooo disappointed.

Amazing! I brought groups here twice for tours and they are so accommodating and the liquor is incredible. The tasting was awesome and the staff was knowledgeable. Can't wait to continue coming back!

Some friends and I came here this past weekend after purchasing a groupon deal (for about $10, you got 2 tix for a tour and 2 craft cocktails!). The ladies were fun, informational, and attentive. I learned so much about my favorite spirit, VODKA. It's the laid-back, most technical but easiest to make spirit that gets along with almost everything. Hmm, I don't think Vodka and I would be set up in an online dating site, but what do they know? To sum up: 1) five stars for customer service 2) five stars for creative drinks. four stars for execution (not sure my blood orange mule was so mule-y). 3) try the tour! What a great local resource for those of you who like spirits. Plus, they're making green chile vodka! I'll be back to buy a bottle to enjoy somewhere and probably end up bumping up my review.

Such a great experience. Called and was connected with Dawn to schedule a tour for our group of 6. We were kindly greeted by Brad, served cocktails, interesting tour, and had a great experience learning about all of your products from our guide Brad. We purchased a few bottles and will be back to add some specials to our holiday shopping list. Thank you so much!

Found this distillery on Groupon and we had a great time during the tour and tastings. All organic and local flavors, had a wonderful experience!

I recently went on a Craft Tour (Centennial Tours) and Rising Sun was our second stop. They had some of the best vodka and gin I have ever tasted and they specialize in blue agave organic spirits. I am so sorry I can't remember the name of the owner that gave us the distillery tour (was it Sol???) but he was amazing. He was informative and funny and the cocktails he made us were really good. I hope this business works out for him and his wife, it's a really endeavor!

Very nice place and great customer service. Great tasting and cool place. Probably better if you go during cocktail hour or on the weekend.

The Rising Sun Distillery offers the most delectable, and refreshing Gin experience that any distillery can offer. Their Gin's are well crafted, offering a variety of smooth, flavorful, high quality blends, that are made on the premises. Also, when I went there I was greeted by the most naturally beautiful bartender I have ever seen! I believe her name is Kim. I would urge anyone to drop into the RSD for a pleasant, refreshing beverage. And, to behold the beauty of Kim!!

Like many other Yelpers we found Rising Sun by accident (it's next to Strange Craft Beer Company), and I'm so glad that we did! The folks here are so friendly and excited about coming up with new cocktails with their vodka and gin. They have a cute, dog-friendly lounge area where they open up the doors when the weather is nice. I often go for one of the cocktail specials, as they are usually creative and based in local ingredients. Keep it up Rising Sun!

We came based on the other reviews and were not disappointed. Great vodka and the oak gin was my favorite. The owner was helpful and knowledge, a great find in a city filled with drinking opportunities. We will be back!!

Does it get any better? Organic vodka and gin! Wonderful cocktails! I enjoyed the art and the atmosphere, my whole group had a fabulous time.

A happy little detour on our way to Strange Craft! Several of us pulled up front, fully expecting to just go directly to Strange Craft, but we noticed Rising Sun and decided to check it out. What a neat surprise! The place is impeccably clean, organized, and the lady there was friendly, informative, and made some drinks for all of us. It's good to see local places doing neat stuff, and if I wasn't going out that evening, I would have totally bought some goodies to take with me. Only negative? The dill martini needed to be strained. There was solid dill everywhere in it, and while it was very tasty, it was tough to drink with those little sprigs. Whatever, I'll be back to try something new.

This company is managed by rude people. The older lady with blonde hair has no customer service skills and does not know how to treat customers. I would not recommend this distillery to any one I know or anyone in Colorado.

Great drinks, great service, cool setting. Can't wait to do a tour and bring friends here.

I'm originally from Denver but moved to CA. I came back to visit and decided to go on a few brewery and distillery tours. This was my absolute favorite. The owner, Dawn gave us a tour and a tasting. Best vodka and gin I've ever tried!! Not to mention, it's all ORGANIC! Everyone was super friendly. I'd definitely recommend it!

Fantastic Vodka. My folks brought some out all the way to Baltimore, MD and it is some of the best I have ever had. Keep it going Rising Sun!

My first distillery! Kim is the best and so knowledgeable. She makes the tour fun and interesting. The tasting was fun and really relaxing. Tried some cocktails that we would never try otherwise. Even bought some bottles to bring back home. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Great new distillery just off 25 and 13th. Right next to Strange brewing so great place to go if there's a mixed party of beer and liquor drinkers. Their spirits are very nice and the staff was even nicer! They make some very tasty cocktails and have a very comfortable place to sit and unwind with some craft Colorado booze

The Shanghai is a unique drink with a hint of spice! Their gin has a hint of juniper flavor and picked up more of the botanical flavors. Loved their gin!

Awesome place to just hang and enjoy some amazing craft cocktails. Super chill vibe, friendly staff and a place I'd definitely bring friends to hang out. Love the drinks and great service.

What an awesome find! In town for business I found the Rising Sun tasting room to be warm and inviting with a very friendly vibe. The drink list sounds very tasty and the two drinks I had were fantastic. I'll definitely be back and will encourage my local friends to become regulars!
