It was a disappointing experience. The saving grace was the sense of responsibility and awareness shown by the restaurant manager. The starters came cold. The pasta came also almost cold. Cutlery followed a few minutes later. Our fifth guest got her salad served 10 minutes after the other 4. We made a special order for a birthday fruit cake, but got another one, quite good, but different from our specs. The rim of a water glass was dented. To compensate for the disappointments 5% was taken off our bill. Proper compensation for this expensive restaurant would have been a 30% discount - with that the bill would have come to a more congruous €45 per head for two courses plus a bottle of wine. But the embarrassment of having invited our son and his girlfriend out on his birthday would have remained ours anyway. Perhaps it was just an unfortunate day for the Bagatto team tonight.
