Yelp
I have a difficult time understanding why anyone would recommend this restaurant,
specially Mario Batali.Maybe it has been a while since he has eaten there. I think that eating Italian food should be best in Italy, but wrong we were. There were six of us on our last night in Bologna, after having mostly wonderful experiences at other restaurants we decided to come to Al Cambio. Two of our friends are Italian, so language was not a problem. From the beginning the waiter seemed indifferent as if he didn't want to do his job, even though the restaurant was not busy. We did ask about the Pancia di Vitello and although we were told it was a little fatty it turned out to be a slab of fat with hardly any mea on it. The tortellini in brodo were almost uncooked. When our main dish arrived, five of us received our food but since the waiter took the order incorrectly one of us was left waiting for 30 minutes before receiving the correct dish. No acknowledgement from the waiter on his mistake, if anything, he then disappeared for the rest of the evening. We don't need to be pampered, just served properly. Food 3, Service 0, Price above average, ambience
not impressive.
