Al Convento - Casa Torrente

"Following renovation work, the frescoed dining room at this restaurant now has the feel of a contemporary osteria, while its attractive terrace boasts tables overlooking the picturesque village’s small square. The menu focuses mainly on fish and seafood (although a few meat options such as tomahawk ribeye and steak also feature), including raw fish, tartares, fried anchovies stuffed with smoked provolone cheese, grilled dishes, and pasta including spaghetti with the local anchovy sauce. If you choose fish from the dry ageing cabinet, you’ll add a little extra to your bill." - Michelin Inspector

Google
What and amazing restaurant. We came last year for our anniversary and we came back again now and its still so amazing. The catch of the day grilled fish is great. The service is fantastic and the servers are very kind and helpful. We are here for 3 days so will try come back before we leave. Highly recommend if you want authentic seafood and wine. I would recommend. Thank you

Google
Incredible food and service. Without doubt the best food and service we have had in the whole Alamfi coast. The service was absolutely brilliant and the food also incredible. The steak made a nice change from Seafood, one of the best ive had. The restaurant inside is immaculate and very well presented. I rarely leave reviews but I felt this place needed some well deserved recognition.

Google
Food was excellent!! My favorite was the Tuna Genovese! Very beautiful restaurant in a lovely seaside village. A little tricky to find because Google will indicate you have arrived, but you won’t see it until you go up the stairs.

A great resturaunt serving food that could stand up anywhere. The chef/patron loves to come a talk food with you. The food is fantastic and the pino the chef recommend was stunning. I recommend the raw seafood plate which was a particular highlight.

Google
The must visit restaurant in Cetara if not all of Amalfi The food was delicious (lots of options for those who don’t love fish), service was impeccable and it was decorated beautifully inside and out. Looking forward to returning on our next holiday here

We were brought here for lunch in Cetera as we were driven along Almafi. Cosy and friendly restaurant, with very well prepared tomato pesto salad. The pasta and dessert are just right

Worthy of a side trip to this restaurant. Hard-to-beat pasta, al dente with anchovy fish sauce

This restaurant wasn’t our first choice, but somehow all other restaurants were either booked out, ran out of certain fishes, or were not appealing. I had a simple dish. I was specifically wanting to try the fried anchovies that evening! The service was very nice and it made our evening.

Yelp
Chef Pasquale greeted us at the door. He helped us to choose our dish for dinner, lobster - which was so fresh it was still walking on ice. He paired wine for the fish course and the meat course - both perfect. The lobster over linguine was perfection in a light sauce followed by the steak cooked exactly how we wanted on a searing hot plate. The hospitality and the delicious cuisine are something you cannot miss

Yelp
This was our first time in Amalfi Coast and Cetara and we wanted to have as much seafood as we possibly can. We happened upon this place while walking around the village tonight and we do not regret it. No one spoke English but they were super friendly and we had no problem ordering. We got the fried anchovies to start, and then we kinda split the ceviche, tuna tataki, and the gnocchi with squid (not ink!) sauce. Everything was delicious. But our favorite was the desert - we discovered Baba and we're not going back! It's a local desert of sweet dough soaked in alcohol (usually rum). It was sublime. Total cost of our meal was 100 euros for 3 people with wine, which was incredibly reasonable. We paid way more for lunch in Positano earlier that day. Highly recommend coming here if you're in the area.

Yelp
for a taste of la dolce vita, head south. get sand on your toes, limoncello in hand and eat some familiar foods served here first: pizza in Naples, caprese in Capri, mozzarella di bufala in Paestum, arancini and cannoli in Sicily. for unique, hit up Cetara (10km from Salerno), one of the last authentic fishing villages in the Amalfi coast, top source of tuna and colatura (syrup of pressed, salted anchovies) still produced as the ancients did. at Al Convento, simply drizzled on sauté of garlic, pepper, spaghettini - an umami taste bomb. as novel, uni-ricotta filled ravioli, fried anchovies stuffed w/ provola and octopus carpaccio. gourmet eats at a fraction of the cost, sweet indeed. tip: for DIY travel, take train from Naples to Sorrento (stop in Pompeii!) or ferry from Capri. then take the SITA buses to Salerno with stops in towns along the coast.

Yelp
The best Tuna we've ever had and the house red wine was equally delicious (gutted we didn't make a note of what wine it was!!). The reason is loses a star was because the staff we had that night were rather hostile and not all that welcoming. Cetara is a local fishing village that is about a 45min drive from Ravello. Cute and authentic but perhaps not the most tourist friendly place we've visited.
