Google
A perfect end to our trip to Castellina in Chianti. The food was refined and flavorful, and our server was incredibly attentive with great recommendations. A memorable dining experience we won’t forget

This place was excellent and what a nice change of cuisine as we had been having mostly pasta dishes throughout our Italy trip. We visited Albergaccio on our last night in Tuscany and the food was delicious, creative, and introduced different taste profiles from what we were used to throughout our Italy travels. We had ordered the cheese plate, duck breast, bistecca tomatoes, cod, ravioli, beef tagliata, panna cotta, and assortment of ice cream and sorbet. They also have a tasting menu option, but we decided to go a la carte. Owner and servers were attentive and very nice. This was probably one of our favorite meals in Italy. Would definitely recommend and worth the trip from our stay in Tavarnelle.

Came here last year and although the menu has changed the service and quality definitely hasn’t! Amazing food and the service was just as good Don’t worry if it is a little cold as they have heaters outside which provide good warmth If you have allergies they cater to it beautifully as the menu has numbered allergens on it and alter dishes for you

We stumbled upon this place on our way to our accommodation and were so thankful we did. The food, the service and the views were incredible. The lovely and funny host gave us recommendations of other restaurants and vineyards to try in the local area, she was also knowledgable about the wine and local ingredients. We have stared and saved it and will 100% be back!

Beautiful terrace with panoramic views over the Tuscan hills. Warm, professional welcome and attentive service. Delicious, refined dishes made with local ingredients, perfectly paired with regional wines. We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful lunch — a true Tuscan delight.

This is a beautiful place to have a romantic meal with an amazing view. We stopped off in Castellina en route towards Siena and wanted an authentic Tuscan lunch. This place did not disappoint. The service was impeccable (and everyone spoke the best English we’d experienced in Tuscany). My wife also has a gluten intolerance and they brought out amazing gluten free bread of various varieties and flavours (and it just kept coming out!). We ate the trout, gluten free ravioli and the pigeon and it was all sublime. We also got a lovely free caponata amuse bouche which was lovely. The seating is charming and views are spectacular. Would happily return and highly recommend for anyone in Castellina.

Food is of substance, real and connected to the territory, while preserving refinement and complexity. Still so much energy and tension in the plate after all these years! Amazing relaxed service and a great wine list. The only negative is to the external tent: I understand it is needed to increase capacity but it is really ugly and with a high impact on the building architecture and overall atmosphere.

Yelp
We happened upon this lovely restaurant while on our day trip from Florence. The service was outstanding. The food excellent and the atmosphere delightful. I would highly recommend this place.

Yelp
We had dinner last night at this magnificent restaurant. Highly suggest to go with the Classic Tasting Course with the paired wine. The owner Francesco introduced himself and explained every course and wine . It was fantastic. Service was great, friendly and on the spot. The night time ambiance was of a family feeding friends. What a gem of a restaurant hidden on a hill in Castellina. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I stopped there in April 2022 on my way to a business meeting in Radda. It was a very nice lunch. I could tell right away they take pride in what they are doing, food and service. The meal was very good, it's a mix of traditional local food and some modernized classics. Solid wine list, mostly local as you would expect. I should say that I spent over 40 years in the restaurant business across 3 continents and from bistro level all the way to 3 star Michelin. No, my name is not Karen, and I don't live in Mississippi.

Yelp
This may have been a good experience we're not for some of the rudest service I've ever received in a restaurant. We were a large party, granted, however the place was far from full on a Saturday night. Things got off on the wrong foot when the waitress tried to strong-arm us into accepting a "special menu," which she admitted was actually just the leftover specials from the previous night. Never mind that nobody wanted day old pork butt and cod salad; had they informed us ahead of time that our choices would be limited due to party size, that would be one thing. However, this was not the case, and most of the party ended up ordering a la carte anyway, because again, few people were willing to accept day old specials as their "special menu." (Although they did manage to pressure three party members to accepting this so-called special menu, which was underwhelming to say the least.). Anyways, fast forward to the end of the meal. They managed to screw up one of the dessert orders somehow, and after correcting it, the lady who took our order said to her coworker, within earshot of one of the party members who speaks Italian, that "people like that deserve to get spit in their food." After we spent nearly 900 Euros in their mediocre restaurant. This is completely unprofessional and disgusting behavior, and I've never experienced anything remotely like this in all the years that I've been in restaurants. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere- anywhere- else. The food may have been decent, but it was overpriced and the awful server managed to ruin what might have been a good experience for everyone.

Yelp
Not sure why others have had mixed experiences here, this restaurant serves delicious elevated cuisine. I'd like to clear up a misnomer about the Michelin status. It's a "Good Plate" and all that means is that Michelin recommends it. It doesn't actually have a star. "Good Plates" can be depended on to serve great food. As for the service, yes it is efficient but not real friendly but I found that often in my trip to Tuscany. They don't all speak English well! We had a prix fixe menu for 13 of us negotiated in advance, and it included 5 courses and 4 different wines. Everything was absolutely wonderful. One of the highlights was a stunning blue cheese-filled ravioli in a celery soup. The soup was out of this world, they had extracted huge flavor, and the dark green color reflected it. All dishes were paired perfectly with the wines. Other courses included risotto with pigeon sauce which included its liver (wow) and slices of pigeon on top. Fantastic. A porchetta which was like most you get in Tuscany, but the sides were cool, sweet potato and a beet schmeer. A wonderful experience, we ate outdoors on a perfect summer evening.

Yelp
Great food and service. The only thing lacking was a view. The parking had a good view though lol

Yelp
This is a Michelin star restuarant and a daring, gourmet kitchen that will thrill foodies. Sonia Visman is the imaginative chef who deftly weaves locally produced cheeses, pastas, vegetables and meats into a meal that intensifies the traditional Tuscan flavours. We thorgouhly enjoyed both her exquisite presentations, especially the little coin sized raviolis, and her combination of flavors, as in the chicken with thin slices of lemongrass. In that dish, she made the lemongrass taste as though it had been cut in a Tuscan field that afternoon. The pigeon with licorice infused figs was also sensational. Pricing for this five course, 5 star experience was exceeding reasonable at E130 for two, with wine and apertifs. We were treated to several 'gifts' from the kitchen. The service is impeccable, as good as the finest restaurants in NY and London.

Yelp
The hare with porcini mushrooms and pigeon are the highlights. Gnocchi was the lightest I've ever had and the modern tiramisu was a treat. Great service and meal from a very unassuming restaurant.

Yelp
Amazing service and food. The florentine steak is worth the plane ticket for a repeat. Best steak in the world.

Yelp
On our trip to italy we stopped in this restaurant that had only good reviews but unfortunately we were disappointed this time. 6 people, 12 different dishes and only one was really good and was ok for the price charged. One course EUR26, two courses EUR44 and three EUR56. The primi piatti were ok but in case of the spaghettini not hot enough. The t-bone steak was delicious and also cooked to perfection. I ordered a filet of pork which turned out not to be filet but another much fattier cut of meat. Side dish of potatoes which were not fully cooked. The bread was enjoyed by all of us also the olive oil was nice. Service was ok, spoke english but didnt try to give us information on wines or dishes, basically just plate carriers. For the prices charged we expected more. Desserts were good and delicious also the only dish that was nicely decorated. Bottle of chianti classico from EUR30. total paid for 6 EUR335. All in all the quality didnt match the price. We wont come back.

Yelp
I am not sure why this is such a highly rated restaurant. It was good, but nothing special. We were told by our concierge that this was a Michelin started restaurant. I think not. The food nor the service were up to par. The service especially was lacking. Professional and prompt but not friendly or welcoming. Great wine list, but even the local wine by the glass was expensive. The menu was slightly confusing and was a highlight of the season as well as local dishes. We started with a shared appetizer that had a beef tartar, a stuffed and fried zucchini flower, a meatball stuffed into small pepper and an onion with some sort of cream. Overall it was just ok. The meatball was extremely spicy and there was no warning on the menu or the waiter. I had a take on lasagna that had a top that resembled a soufflé. It was very original and pretty tasty, however just a tab bland. I had pigeon for main course and it was extremely tasty. Prepared and seasoned very well. My husband had hand rolled pasta and was not very impressed. We were brought complimentary mojito ice cream cones. Very tasty and perfect pallet cleansers. The crème Brule with fruit that we shared for dessert was excellent! Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. It did not have a romantic atmosphere. The lights were extremely bright. Although the food was pretty good the whole experience just did not measure up.

Yelp
Outstanding. A very nice place with high quality in every regard. And, easy parking.

Yelp
Excellent food, wine, and service. More continental than classically Italian. Some unusual dishes, like the baked onion, were real surprises and absolutely delicious. I had the quail as a main course, which was perfect. Staff was gracious and attentive. Attractive dining room and warm atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
