Ristorante "Alla Locanda"

The worst place we spent Christmas Eve at, with a dinner cost of €80 per person. No one from the staff informed us about when dinner would start. After waiting over an hour for the dishes, we received only one appetizer. When we asked how long it would be until the next dishes arrived, we were told that the menu consisted of six items. We came to dinner with three children, so we couldn’t spend three hours during the Christmas dinner. When we raised our concerns with the manager, we were told to pay for the dinner and leave. The manager insisted that we had been informed about the dinner format, which no one had done.The worst service we every had before...

One of the better restaurants from a poor selection on Canazei. Good atmosphere and service. Good wine selection and we're happy to give me a glass of something not on the menu as being available by the glass. Starter and pudding (crumble) were great but the main course (ossobucco) was rather chewy and the polenta a bit bland. It's really close to being 5 but for the price probably expected a superb main too.

This has been the worst Christmas ever. When we made the reservation, the staff didn’t inform us of the dinner start time. When we arrived, they told us dinner starts at 7:00 PM. We waited for 30 minutes, and there was nothing on the table—not even bread. Later, when we asked when the service would start, they changed their story, saying the kitchen actually starts at 7:30 PM. In total, we waited for an hour and a half, and only one appetizer was served. We really didn’t want to wait any longer and decided to leave. However, the manager told us we had to pay for the full dinner menu before we could leave, even though we had only eaten one appetizer. I’ve been to many restaurants in Italy and have never experienced anything like this. If you have €80, I wouldn’t recommend coming here just to feel imprisoned.

The interior decorations are interesting, but many details overload the overall appearance. The service was friendly and timely. The food needs improvement. I don’t understand why people gave 5 stars here. I was disappointed by the quality of the food after deciding to spend the evening there based on the reviews. I found the chef’s special in the supermarket on the corner in the frozen food section, which was funny. The wine we ordered was in the same supermarket for half the price. As for the main courses, their presentation made you feel like you were in a tasting restaurant, but the quality was much poorer. They only looked good in the pictures.

Beware of this restaurant. They cheat customers and force them to pay for meals they didn't eat. We booked Christmas Eve dinner for 7pm. We came with three children, were seated at a table and no one was interested in us. After 1.5h of waiting and asking for meals we only got a starter and spaghetti for the kids (spaghetti was bad). We didn't want to wait any longer and decided to leave, then the manager forced us to pay for the whole dinner (199 euros) even though we only ate the starter. I don't recommend this restaurant, the worst place we've ever been!!!!

Without any doubt - this place will be put in Michelin guide soon. Should be there. Bravo!

The food was really delicious. The staff really helpful and kind. Though it is quite an expensive restaurant, it is worth its price.

Amazing restaurant, definitely worth a visit when in or near Canazei!
