Have you been to Ristorante Casanova? It's an Italian restaurant located inside the DoubleTree hotel in downtown El Paso.
I had an interesting experience there! I met up with a friend for lunch and decided to try a few items: meatballs, salad, and the short rib pappardelle.
To my surprise, when my short rib pasta arrived, it had chimichurri on top. I had never tried that before, but honestly, it was delicious!
The chimichurri added a lot of flavor to the housemade pasta and enhanced the taste of the short rib. I told my friend that it reminded me of Argentinian food because Argentinian cuisine has a strong Italian influence.
I would suggest that they rebrand the restaurant as an Argentinian eatery since that's what it tasted like. They also had negronis. Argentinians love negronis, I would love to see Träkál on the menu, the Patagonian Negroni, which is a South American twist on the classic Italian aperitif.
I believe an Argentinian restaurant would be well-received here in El Paso. The food at Ristorante Casanova is absolutely delicious, and the panna cotta dessert was divine!
The service was attentive, and our waitress was actually supposed to be at the Asian night market but ended up in California, so she provided us with some great recommendations.
This place is perfect for a quiet lunch or a casual meeting spot for drinks. I would definitely come back. Still on the lookout for a good Italian spot, but overall, this is a fantastic dining experience.-TODOELPASO
