Cavallino

"Il Cavallino, a long-established restaurant which pays tribute to Ferrari – a symbol of Maranello and Italy across the globe – now has the added attraction of Massimo Bottura’s creative cuisine. Traditional regional dishes, such as the delicious tortellini del Tortellante, are given interesting, personalised twists, as evidenced by the crème caramel made with 36-month-aged Parmesan cheese, chives and 12-year-old balsamic vinegar. Trendy decor, plus a flower-decked garden." - Michelin Inspector

This was one of the most enjoyable meals I’ve eaten in a long time. Incredible service by all who attended our table, very knowledgeable and engaging staff, and most of all incredibly delicious food made with the best ingredients. My wife and I booked a long time ago as we were visiting Maranello and wanted to ensure we would have a table. If you are visiting, I would highly recommend giving Cavallino a visit. Your taste buds will thank you for it.

We visited the restaurant as part of our Ferrari Tailored Factory Tour. This was the last stop of our tour and it was the perfect final stop. We were guided to our tables and we have two choices of main course and one choice of dessert. Needless to say, the meal was delicious. One area of improvement could be in the menu - I wish they offered more choices. We were first served with some water, bread, bread sticks and pastry (all of which could be refilled). We were then presented with our main course and dessert with red wine before ending with coffee and some more pastries. Service was exceptional. The waiters explain the dishes and serve as whenever we needed it. Cleanliness was impeccable and the restaurant is decorated in a way that it is unmistakably related to Ferrari. If you are in the area, a visit to the restaurant is highly recommended, even if you are not part of the Ferrari factory tour.

Prob the best restaurant in Maranello, but pricey. Food quality was 100%. The service at all levels was impeccable. Make reservations for sure and give yourself a good 2+ hours.

This place is great. Service is a 5/5, amazing attention, very kind waiters. Food tastes great, typical flavors from the region and an unforgettable experience for any ferrari fan. Also got the chance to see Massimo Bottura in action in the kitchen. Overall, an experience you cannot miss if you love creative cuisine + ferrari.

The food is absolutely amazing. We couldn't help but try each other's meals. Everything was fantastic. The rabbit was so soft it was dissolving in my mouth. The snails were extracted from the shells and fried, very delicious. The "cream caramel of Parmeggiano Reggiano" is very gentle and outstanding. The zuppa inglese is irresistible. Whatever you order, you can't miss. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. The only thing I did not understand about this restaurant: why does it not have a Michelin star yet?

I didn’t know what to expect but since we spent the whole day looking at cars, thought we’d keep in the theme. It turned out to be really nice, the dishes are dainty but satisfyingly flavoursome with good ingredients. The staff are attentive and friendly. We shared some dishes and they were so good to split them into two beautifully presented portions on separate plates.

The famous restaurant opposite the gates of Ferrari and a lovely place. Staff were exceptional and food was great.

Dinner was nice, service was okay ( we had to pour our own wine in a place like this = unacceptable) , overall it was expensive, overrated and underperformed. Starters were delicious, however, we ordered the famous pasta al ragu, and found out just before eating that it contained OFFAL!! This was never disclosed before ordering nor stated on the menu. We don’t eat afval. The waitress said that the restaurant doesn’t want to waste any parts of the cow and so use some parts in the ragu as they want people to “try” it. This is FUNDAMENTALLY wrong, it’s similar to tricking someone into trying pork or beef when they don’t eat it for religious purposes. They asked about allergies before ordering - but not about “what you don’t eat”. ( ie gluten/nuts etc) This needs to change as it is ethically questionable.
