"Steep hikes in the Columbia River Gorge call for plenty of carbs afterward, and the conveniently located Ristorante Di Pompello, a stone’s throw from I-84, will not disappoint. The platonic ideal of a red-checkered tablecloth Italian-American restaurant, Pompello balances timeless dishes like chicken piccata and eggplant parm with entrees highlighting the north Pacific’s bounty — including Dungeness crab linguini and halibut encrusted with hazelnuts. For those hiking with a friendly DD, Pompello has a full bar." - Nathan Williams

If you find yourself in Troutdale, Oregon and craving some good Italian food and great service then you should consider eating at Ristorante Di Pompello. The food is delicious and fresh. The staff is friendly and very professional. They are always polite and ready to serve you. Enjoy a nice glass of wine or a cocktail with your meal. There is great shops in the area when you are done eating so you can spend time shopping and have a wonderful day or evening.

I don't usually leave reviews, but the food and service was so good I had to. It surprised me that it wasn't too expensive since it was so delicious! I had the ravioli portobello! Highly recommend. Our waitress was very sweet too, I didn't catch her name, but she was wearing a light blue shirt and had blonde hair. She was very nice and very helpful. All in all a great experience. (I would have taken a picture of the Tiramisu but it was so good we ate it all before thinking to take a picture)

We received a free bruschetta with our table and that was pretty good. I liked the bread. We also both got side soups. I got the Tuscan and my husband got the minestrone. The than was good. I’m not big on bacon but it was good. My husband liked that the minestrone didn’t have too many beans but jokes it wasn’t “real” minestrone because it didn’t have the right noodles. Can’t take an Italian guy to an Italian place 😅 for our entrees, I ordered the three cheese ravioli in a spinach cream sauce with tomatoes and mushrooms. The sauce was amazing. The raviolis were good. They Parmesan cheese wasn’t evenly distributed though. My husband got the fettuccini alfredo. He enjoyed it and thought it was really creamy. He sopped up all of the sauce with his bread. We overall enjoyed this place and recommend it. The only critiques I have are: we didn’t get checked up on very often. I wanted to order a second drink with my meal but we were just left alone while we ate. Also, the food was on the blander side. I had to give a lot of salt and pepper and wished to see more seasonings involved.

Google
Visiting the area from Vancouver BC. Reasonable pricing even with the weak Canadian dollar. Big portions. Diligent customer services. We were a party of eight and they didn't charge standard 20% service charge others do. This restaurant is marked on my Google and we will visit for sure if and when we are back in the area!!

Ristorante Di Pompello was the caterer at our wedding this past month. We have ate there before and loved their food. They did an excellent job with the catering bringing appetizers, salad, bread, and pasta as ordered. Our guests enjoyed the pasta options and everything was kept warm and clean by their staff. The only issue we had was with the nonalcoholic beverage service. We had ordered water, iced tea, strawberry lemonade, coffee, and an assortment of sodas including diet soda options. On the wedding day there was no coffee and no diet soda available for guests. Also, guests were not a fan of the iced tea. The strawberry lemonade had high praise though. Overall, I would absolutely use them again for catering and will be eating there again as I love their food and it is a great restaurant.

Usually this is one of my favorite restaurants, but this time I was sadly disappointed. The service was unwelcoming, and slow. No one smiled and the workers just stared at us a lot. The spinach artichoke dip tasted like it was put in a blender, but that’s just not my preference. The chicken was poor quality. Extremely rubbery and chewy. I ordered the same meal I always get and it was not the same. At least not the chicken. Food all looks pretty and presentable but it was not tasty. The cheddar broccoli soup tasted homemade and was actually really good! The price was decent for all of the food we received. Not sure if I will be making an effort to go back anytime soon.

Google
We randomly stop at this restaurant looking for something to eat. The atmosphere was very welcoming with the attention of our server. Melissa made it easy to sit down for dinner with her awesome and tentative service. It's was nice to sit in the booth with the view looking towards Columbia River. The food was great and the price was right. I'm not Italian, so I can't say it's amazing Italian food. However, I can say we enjoyed everything we ate, including dessert. I recommend this place if you're in the area 👌

Ok, the prices are amazing. We got the $39 dinner for two special which included two pasta dinners, an appetizer, two salads or soups, and a dessert. Seriously unbelievable. The food was good, but not spectacular. Our server did not seem interested in us at all, but otherwise a good experience.

Yelp
I just had the chicken fettuccine delivered by DoorDash. The sauce is fantastic. It was a little pricey for not having any rolls or side salad $27 after tip, but the food is very good. If you live in the area, try it out they do send out local coupons in Troutdale for lunch specials. I will definitely be back. The portion was quite small but the taste was delicious.

Yelp
A sad, drab, utterly tasteless meal. The lack of effort or interest that had been put into the food and the presentation of my minestrone soup, andTiger Shrimp with Lobster Sauce (me), and my guest's Chicken Alfredo, was astonishing. How this restaurant will survive is beyond me without a major overhaul is beyond me. Such a waste. A shame for the sweet setting of downtown Troutdale. By comparison, Olive Garden is gourmet.

Yelp
This is my comfort spot. The pasta is incredible. The bread and balsamic is okay, I would prefer garlic bread. The complimentary soup is amazing!! Don't eat too much or you will spoil your pasta. I love the penne pesto pollo. I always add sun dried tomatoes. It's my dream pasta. The sun dried tomato tortellini is good too!! They have a good happy hour/drink menu and dinner specials. I take all my friends. I brag about this place. I come to celebrate my birthday. I come when I'm sad and need a pick me up. I have had tough conversations here. I have gotten offered a job on the phone here. I had my softball end of season party here. This place is the real deal. The owner is so kind and sweet and welcoming. The outdoor seating is so nice in the summer. I love this place.

Yelp
Every time we come here we leave feeling happy and full. The meatballs and soup are delicious. The pasta and wines. We always do the dinner for two and it is a great deal for a multi-course meal. The view is beautiful and the table always feels romantic. They could do something about the cleaning product smell and the lighting in some areas is harsh but overall very good food for an amazing price. Enjoy!

Jenn C.

Yelp
We really liked this restaurant on a visit to Troutdale. Happy Hour options are really great! Service was really nice and they have a huge menu. I got the veal parmesan with risotto. It was great, but not what I was expecting. Not marinara sauce. The risotto was ok. The ceal was perfectly breaded and cooked. Hubby got the chicken parmesan and really liked it. The others in our party ordered the meal for two off the happy hour menu and really liked all that they got. Especially for the price. The only issue we had was with the appetizers. The bread that they serve is essentially under toasted white bread with a bit of seasoning. It did hold up well to the (cold) artichoke dip and bruschetta. I did recommend this restaurant to my family who lives in the area and I would go back when I visit. The happy hour menu can't be beat!

Jamie L.

Yelp
The best restaurant in Troutdale, hands down. My husband doesn't even like Italian food and he loves this place. There are so many more options than just marinara and pasta. Their seafood always tastes fresh and everything is so upscale- even their salads and bread. But the kicker is how affordable it is given the quality and quantity of food. I have been here about 10 times and not once did I ever have poor service or a meal that was "just ok." It is always phenomenal.

Yelp
I genuinely wish I had a more positive review. A coworker mentioned this place to us for Valentines and we opted to go...when we arrived (we had a reservation), it was decently occupied, but not crazy packed...there were quite a few tables open but they asked us if we'd like to sit upstairs and we said sure. Upon being seated, (I wish we got her name)...we were greeted by the cutest and most bubbly girl with the sweetest smile...she was so kind the entire time. Like she made the experience. (For the managers, brunette...nicest person ever, constantly smiling...she's amazing). Anyways, the only real downfalls were that we ordered muscles as the appetizer, they were great...but they arrived without cutlery...we mentioned it and kind of started nibbling at it like finger food...but then a handful of servers came upstairs and started chit chatting and hanging around...my only guess is that they were too young to prepare alcoholic drinks or serve them because we watched them hanging around the upstairs bar and talking (about 4-5 of them) and then our salads were delivered, still no cutlery so again...we ate with our fingers lol...we were only the second couple upstairs. Finally I walked to the bar and noticed our server was preparing around 6 drinks herself and mentioned the cutlery and despite the 3 staff members sitting at the bar talking, she immediately apologized and ran to get us silverware. No harm, no foul. When our food arrived though, I had ordered the speciality pasta with gluten free pasta, which I watched her write down and someone else brought it to us...I asked (I do have celiacs, I'm not trying to be annoying) if the pasta was gluten free and he said, "no? Why? I'll just go fix that." He wasn't rude, he just seemed irritated lol. He brought another for me about 10 mins later and it was good! The sauce, pasta and shrimp was perfect...but the lobster tail on top was so over cooked that it was almost impossible to bite through. My partner had the butternut squash ravioli and was bummed because it was almost 100% sauce. The rest was flavorless. Our sweet server seemed overworked and tired, despite being friendly...we waited almost 20 mins to see another person before we could ask for checks or boxes. My food was a 6/10...his was a 3/10...the service overall was a 2/10 and I want to say none of that was our server...she really was sweet and did her best but it felt like she was picking up the slack for everyone just hanging out. Could've been a busy night, but I definitely think people could've jumped in more to alleviate some of the pressure that our server so graciously handled. She was lovely. Our server was a 10/10...but unfortunately with the service, lack of attention and the poorly prepared food...I don't think we'll return, and certainly not on a busy evening.

Yelp
After looking at the menu online, I had really high hopes for this place. A lot of great sounding items and the menu seems to have something for everyone. My brother ordered the chicken pasta salad. It was a chicken salad with., no joke, less than a handful of pasta. Unfortunately, I cannot find my entrée anywhere on the menu now, but it was a seafood pasta with asparagus. Once again, very few pieces of asparagus, which are all stems, and the sauce was extremely sweet. Too sweet for me to enjoy. Not a terrible experience necessarily, but I was pretty letdown by the food.

Yelp
Great place to eat! I had the prosciutto sandwich, hands down the best sandwich. That is saying a lot. I kept changing my order and the waitress was so patient and nice about it. And it was at a reasonable price! Typically at any other restaurant, what I ordered would have been $75 but I paid $30!! I would know since I love eating out and trying new restaurants. Highly recommend this place. I was very impressed.

Brenda M.

Yelp
I had the most expensive thing on the menu. Stuffed Halibut $31. It was a small flat piece of over cooked fish. The outside edges were crispy hard and not edible. There was nothing noticeable in the stuffing beside cream cheese. The risotto was good but the serving was too small. I left there still hungry. The service was good.

Yelp
I was recently in the Portland area and read relatively good reviews of Ristorante Di Pompello in Troutdale. It was in a nice location with outdoor seating. However, my experience will ensure that I never make the mistake of going there again. I ordered the lasagna with a side salad. The lasagna looked good. It was piping hot in some spots but ice cold in other spots. When I commented about the cold spots to the server after the meal, she said it had cold spots because "the serving is so large!" She never apologized for the cold food. The ultimate insult came a day later with the billing. I paid with my credit card and left a tip of $3.50 (over 22%) only because the service was good and prompt. I got an email from my credit card company saying the restaurant had submitted an additional charge of $9.50 to my credit card without the card being present. That's when I discovered that the restaurant had fraudulently increased my tip to $9.50 (a 61% tip on a dinner of $15.50). I sent an email to the owner of the restaurant six days ago to question the fraudulent charges. He never acknowledged or responded to my email. I opened a charge dispute with my credit card company. I am now sorry I left any tip at all. I most certainly will never go to Ristorante Di Pompello again. I would give them zero stars if that were an option!

Ann S.

Yelp
This restaurant was a disappointment. The extensive well designed menu looked inviting. First of all you are brought bread with tomatoes in balsamic. Not much creativity here. I opted for the scallop and spinach salad that was tasteless to say the least. The red onions were sliced too thick and overpowered every thing else. It looked like there were dried herbs in the dressing and it had no flavor. This was proceeded by minestrone soup that was just OK as well. The young servers however were attentive and pleasant.

D R.

Yelp
Food was delicious and great! Building is quaint and pretty with a wonderful aesthetic and good vibe. Recommend the mozzarella sticks and chocolate cake. Server was kind and helpful. Great food for the price. Wonderfully satisfying experience, would go back.

Yelp
Amazing food, Amazing staff, Amazing service and VERY open to accommodations! I was passing through Troutdale around lunchtime on my way from Portland to Seattle while doing the scenic drive, so stopped here for lunch since it was the most highly rated restaurant in the area, and had quite an extensive menu as well. My boyfriend and I had the Bruschetta to start off with, and it was quite nice and fresh. The liquid part (outside of the tomato) did feel a tiny bit tangy, but only if you add too much. Bread was quite warm and soft and fresh too. They even gave us extra bread when I asked for it. For the mains, we both ordered pastas, with a lot of adjustments/requests, and the server was very patient with all of it! I got the Sophia Scampi - a shrimp scampi - which came with bell peppers and mushrooms, but I updated it: 1/2 fettuccine 1/2 zucchini noodles add extra broccoli replace with side salad // I believe the server was knew, and messed up a bit with her notes, so the chef actually came out to the table to confirm my order. Such concern and kindness! The pasta itself was beautiful! What a large serving size, and they did not compromise on the veggies at all! The sauce was also perfect with the shrimp and veggies and everything just went so well together! Shrimp was really fresh too. My boyfriend got the Chicken alle Gorgonzola. He added the side salad on as well, and asked for some steamed veggies on the side. I tried some of that pasta sauce, and it was freaking amazing! So creamy and just perfect! I wouldn't mind a bowl of just that sauce itself! He really liked the entire pasta as well and made sure he finished it even though he was starting to get full haha. Can't waste good food

Lacie M.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. Wish I could remember exactly what I got but I do remember the sauce being amazing. I took my mom here because of their gluten free options. She was so delighted to have so many options and it was delicious ! Gluten free noodles are hard to get right but they did it

Kristy B.

Yelp
Whelp! Im not sure where the owner was today but this is the worst service I've ever had! Promise we will never be back. 10 minutes after being seated , no one comes for drink orders or even acknowledges we are here. We as a group decided to leave 20 minutes after arriving due to being completely ignored! Yes, we said something when we left and the five girls at the counter doing absolutely nothing didn't give two shits that we were leaving or why.

A P.

Yelp
I ordered this 4 hours in advance via Door Dash for a Valentine's evening at home. The restaurant cancelled my order, with no apology or explanation, at the time it was scheduled for delivery, 6:30pm. Nobody else can deliver at that time on Valentines Day, so we ended up with Taco Bell.

Michael R.

Yelp
Good food. Good price. Typically good service. Could improve cleanliness of restrooms at times. Overall a good place. Owner is a great guy!

Ka Azul T.

Yelp
A favorite local for our Italian cravings in downtown Troutdale. Owner is the head chef and everything we've had is delicious and heavily flavored. Fair prices and great deals weekly. Chicken Parm Tomato Basil Soup Small Greek Salad Fettuccine Alfredo

Yelp
Fantastic service! I had an amazing dinner with great favor- if you like pesto and are GF this is a delicious must try! Hubby had stuffed halibut and also pleased.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here in the middle of an unprecedented winter storm, and we could not have been more happy! With a limited staff due to the weather, they accomplished miracles! We ended up with 38 people when we expected 30, and they hustled to make our three course limited menu happen! We had appetizers, dinner, dessert, and cocktails, and we were in and out in about 2 hours!! And we never felt rushed. The food was really good, and everyone left happy and full! Thank you so much for everything!

Karen B.

Yelp
The menu looked fine, prices were fairly decent, but that where it ends! We had a party of 8 on a relatively slow evening 7/17. With bottles of wine ordered we waited for bread & salads. Food and salads came out randomly with a dinner not coming at all! Terrible manager! He couldn't have cared less! No offer of dessert on the house or anything! In fact he was combative and argumentative when we brought it to his attention! Here we go to an establishment and can't get what we paid for. None of us will ever come here again, and will tell our friends the experience we had. Sadly, some of us came from a long way away.. Washington & California . We will never come here again.

Jeri M.

Yelp
I met some friends for lunch on July 11th. I decided to treat myself to the crab salad (it was about $8 more than other salads.) It was HORRIBLE. The crab still had ice crystals in the meat and was not flavorful but had quite the odor. Our server did not come to check on our meals. I pushed the crab to the side and ate the lettuce. We finally had to go get the server. I told him how awful the salad was. Although he offered to get me another, at this point, we were about 1/2 done with lunch. I declined but suggested my meal get discounted. (I didn't even ask for free) The manager (I assume) came to talk with me explaining how they don't keep much crab on hand and how they have to keep it cold. I wasn't impressed. When the bills arrived, my server said the manager would not discount it but I could go talk to the her. I declined. I can assure you, I will not return.

Yelp
Delicious, tasty food right off Highway 30. After a day of exploring and hiking through the different waterfalls along the Gorge, this was a fantastic find. Amazing wine selection and not busy at all. Fabulous customer service.

Kathleen R.

Yelp
Good selection of tasty pastas etc. & home made sauces, etc. & reasonable prices especially for lunch. Good service. I always like to get a window seat w a view toward the river. Can't see the River but can see WA Hills. I like for after church on Sunday or other times. Have been there when it's snowing a storm outside & watching it out the window. Love the tortellini. & the tiramisu was melt in mouth delicious. Has a nice family atmosphere w the owners very involved. Last 2 visits were to celebrate birthdays.

Shannon F.

Yelp
Great service! Lovely window seats with views of the train tracks and mountains. The food was terrific and an incredible value for the money. Everyone needs to try this place. The wine selection was awesome also! And many desserts to choose from!

Renee N.

Yelp
I asked my husband what he wanted for his birthday dinner and he said he wanted Lasagna and Cheesecake! Their prices are higher (like everything else) but it USED TO BE very good food and average portions. What he actually got was basically melted cheese and a thin "sliver" of actual Lasagna ~ and the cheesecake was even smaller They we're out of meatballs, so I had just the Spaghetti that was ok. We were VERY disappointed after spending $50 and still not satisfied. That was probably our last time supporting them

Nishant N.

Yelp
After an amazing sunset at Oregon Coast we were looking for a dinner place and came across Ristorante Di Pompello. It is a quite and nice restaurant with a street parking. The ambiance was amazing and beautiful. We were greeted by our server and she bought water for us. While we were browsing the menu she bought Bruschetta. For the dinner we ordered Caesar Salad, Chicken Alfredo and Mediterranean Penne. The service was quick and we got our order in 10-15 minutes. The Food was amazing and delicious. We loved our pastas as well as salads. Amazing food with brilliant restaurant. Do try this Italian Restaurant as they serve amazing food with nice ambiance.

Tari K.

Yelp
Very wonderful restaurant. Food was awesome as was the server. Portobello mushroom appetizer highly recommended if you like mushrooms!! Only bad point had to go upstairs.

Larry B.

Yelp
Friendly staff and everyone in our party of six raved about the food. Our table was ready when we arrived and we felt at home in the quiet atmosphere. No rush to order and the entrees were explained by our waitress. We will definitely return. More of the "taste" of Italy and we had all been there too.

Jan C.

Yelp
Bit of a mixed experience here. Spaghetti carbonara was pretty good. Penne pasta with chicken also good Problem came with dessert. We included a slice of Italian Cream cake with our to go order and it was clearly not fresh. Very, very dry and stale. Also note, if you're planning on dining indoors there is no atmosphere here, or the atmosphere is that of a Denny's with Italian paintings in the wall.

Monique H.

Yelp
This was our first time here! The service was amazing. The food was so good and fresh! Everything was very yummy! We will definitely be going back.

Jeff R.

Yelp
Bordering on 2.5 stars. Dang it. I hate when I miss one. This place was average at best. Not a single outstanding moment. Knowing that we were visiting Waterfall Alley and not wanting to get stuck at a fast food joint on the way back to Portland, I thought I had done enough research and chosen a good one with Ristorante Di Pompello. Maybe I should have looked deeper? Food: Nothing memorable. Heck, as I write this, I have to go back and look at pictures to remind myself what we ordered and that was just 4 days ago. Starters: There was complimentary bread with a balsamic and chopped tomato dip. The bread was not warm and just kinda there. Calamari was sad. Look at the pictures. You didn't get much for $9. I think it ended up being a $1 a calamari ring. Cooked a little too much. A daughter and I ordered the gnocchi with beef steak. It was okay. The potato dumplings were plentiful. The steak was a bit tough. The Alfredo sauce was too much though. Rich and overpowering everything. It came with a bowl of minestrone which was good. Other daughter got the lasagna and that seemed gooey and saucy enough. She liked it. My wife got the chicken parmigiana on a bed of zucchini noodles. The chicken was good and thankfully not dry. The attempt to melt the cheese on top of the filet was a bit lazy. I should not be able to notice you melted a pre-sliced piece of mozzarella (see picture). Speaking of pre-made. When you enter, are immediately greeted by a display case housing some tiramisu and cheesecake. Look yummy. However, and I'm not making this up inside of the dinning room there are storage refrigerators which I saw the cooks come in and open a few times. Sadly I saw boxed tiramisu and cheesecakes. That's sad. Wouldn't happen in Italy. Service was spotty. A male host welcomed us and led our party of four to an awkward round table for a party of six. No cordial talk. He then filled two of our water glasses. Didn't even say he would be back to fill the rest. A lady then came by later to take our orders and filled the rest. But wait, there's more. Later on, same guy comes around with a pitcher filling nearby tables. Stops at ours and fills again two of four glasses. Mine is clearly empty. He doesn't even say let me get more and I'll be back. He freaking puts the empty pitcher down on an adjacent table and goes on his merry way. Either lazy, doesn't have social skills or both. This place may be good for locals and tourists who have not been to Italy but for me it was a disappointing stop.

Jay B.

Yelp
Just a gem of a restaurant. Very, very friendly staff, and absolutely delicious food. And for the record: I rarely ever go to an Italian restaurant, as it is at the bottom of my cuisine list. So for me to give this wonderful location 5 stars is saying something. Every single time I have ordered any of the seafood dishes they have come to me fresh and chock-full of flavor. My wife and son's plates are always thoroughly enjoyed, and they both can't wait to return, as well. My wife and I come here often for date nights or special occasions, and I can guarantee there is no restaurant in the area that can touch the quality and service of Ristorante Di Pompello.

Silly Me R.

Yelp
This one star is not for the food. The food is 5 stars! I have eaten there many times and have gotten different dishes and they have all been amazing! The one star is for the service that my party received yesterday. First of all, they brought the incorrect salad for my friend, then the tall male server said he would go in and make his salad right now, great but he never came back with the salad. Later He told me he forgot! The rest of us got our food but the same friend was still waiting for his salad. Finally the salad came, now where are his ribs he ordered?? OK the finally came (cold). My friend sent them back and was told they would make him some new ones. 20 min later a female came to the table and asked what was wrong with the ribs? We had to explain again to her. We had to ask the girl twice for her to bring us napkins. OMG! Then the owner came by and asked how everything was, when we told him he went right away to get the ribs for my friend. Unfortunately, three of us were all done eating before his ribs came. I had to ask twice for a togo container to the girl. No one ever came by to fill our water and we were all out after 2/3 of the meal. Then at the end the girl waitress brought our separate bills in the same credit card holder. So unprofessional. The owner came by and gave our friend a piece of tiramisu when we felt he should have just remove the cold ribs from the bill and comp him. I know good help is hard to find and maybe these kids need more training but if it happens again I and all my friends who we bring there will no come back.

Yelp
An interesting, inexpensive option for Italian. Easy parking and easy seating, even for ten tops. The garlic is a little strong but the service is pleasant and fast. I'd visit again

Maia Jade M.

Yelp
Really good ice water and the staff are smiley. Food is good but other factors could always be improved.

Mariya P.

Yelp
Went here with my husband for dinner this lovely evening. We sat upstairs, very nice view and they said they just remodeled the upstairs. The food was typical Italian food. I had the chicken Alfredo. It was perfect. Better then Olive Garden. The Alfredo sauce was more real and it had a lemony flavor after. Really good! The chicken was tender and the pasta was perfectly made. We also had the mussel appetizer. I'm so thankful they don't overdue the garlic on this. It was steamy hot and the broth was delicious to dip the bread in. My husband had the Dungeness crab with pasta. He said it tasted the same as my chicken Alfredo and had some crab which he couldn't taste much of. Still really good. Overall, really good experience and the waitress was fantastic!

Michael K.

Yelp
I have an honest question for the people that work at this restaurant. Do you guys actually taste your own food? Because if you did I think you might think differently about the dishes that you prepare for your customers. My family and I tried three different dishes and they were just bad. Nothing about this restaurant reminds me of Italian food. I mean not even the bread was Italian. we will never come back here and I highly recommend you don't either. This is coming from somebody that can appreciate an honest Olive Garden meal.

Yelp
$22 for three ribs, a nasty clump of Alfredo Fettuccine and 1/2 cup of unseasoned vegetables? Will not be returning!

Yelp
The food was relatively good, not the best, but passable. However, we sat upstairs and the place is actually in desperate need of a deep cleaning and renovation. It wasn't a nice spot for a birthday dinner (which is what we mentioned when we made the reservation). I can't say if the area downstairs was nicer, but upstairs was not. Tables weren't clean and reminded me of a low-end diner. The service was decent, not fabulous as they didn't check back after meals were dropped, but they did eventually return. Desserts were nice, but not sure if those are made in house. The entrees we got were all okay - nothing that we'd say was amazing or worth returning for. The area itself where the restaurant is located is nice and one we'll visit again to see what else is there for dining options.

Yelp
If I'm craving Italian, this a pretty traditional place. Really love the lobster bisque and home made desserts. Very disappointed by the appetizer sampler for $10. It was really what many places set out to nibble on while waiting. Meatballs tasted bland and store-bought, are around $2 each. Great building.

Yelp
This is a wonderful restaurant. The service is great -- the servers are friendly and attentive. The food is always good. This visit we each had the $9.50 lunch special. What a great deal: crostini appetizer, soup or salad, a panini, spumoni and a beverage. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch in this bright and cheerful spot at a table by the window. The menu offers authentic Italian entrees. We'll be back!

Yelp
I have been a customer at this restaurant for more than 12 years. I recently decided to use their upstairs banquet room for an event I was hosting. Everything was going well and most of the food tasted good. HOWEVER.... there were some major glitches during the event. Saul, the owner did not want to take care of them at all! The package that I was sold, what the catering/event person told me I would get, was not what I received. I didn't make a big deal of it at the time, assuming that we would work it out afterwards. When I called Heidi (catering/event person) the next day, she said she'd get back to me later in the week. A few days later I received a letter "from Saul" that was definitely not written by Saul. The letter basically said, we're a small company so, too bad I'm not going to make this right. I responded with my very specific issues (what was in my contract, purchased and not received). I received another letter from Saul late that evening. This time the letter was actually from Saul (there was a huge difference between the two letters). He refused to acknowledge the issues that I clearly pointed out. I paid an extra $215 ($43 pp) for five dinners that were never served and more for appetizers (for 23 people) that were never served. Plus, I paid a 20% tip on all of it, which I didn't take issue with. There were more concerns, but that sums up the easiest ones to explain. I responded once more to Saul, he didn't respond. The next day I sent a note to Heidi, once more listing my concerns. No response. It's just very unfortunate that as a customer I was not given the respect, the promised package or value that I should have been entitled to. Both Saul and Heidi were very unprofessional in the handling of this. I'm especially disappointed since I considered myself a good customer and friend. I've used the space upstairs a few other times without issue. Then, the first time that things go wrong, he refuses to even apologize! Unfortunately, this will no longer be my go-to Italian restaurant. Thank goodness I love Boccelli's in downtown Gresham!

Yelp
Excellent food. Raviolis with stuffed mushrooms were sooo yummy. Chicken Alfredo was great also. Greek and spinach salads were fresh and lovely start. Service was fast and they split meals with no extra charge. What a find on our way through town.

Yelp
After the whole year of tipping "to go" orders. We are so pleased to have real "SERVICE". This little Italian in Troutdale is our first normalcy. Considering how difficult for adjustment they exceed our expectations. Patio seating on a toasty Sunday evening. Very nice server (seriously owner, she's a keeper) . Silverware, plates, glasses of ice water. Who knows how we are so appropriate to have that culture back in our lives. No single use plastic containers makes us feel so so good. They are also very efficient. Fast service and fresh made quality food kept coming out in no time. For the food they are very tasty with just $30 bill! $0 Complementary appetizer $14 Scallop salad comes with veggies soup $11 Steamed clams comes with bread $5 Tiramisu There you go REAL restaurant business that deserve supports. Never pay "more" (plus tip) at food carts to eat off boxes or those Instagram eateries again! Thank you!!!
