"Since 2007, Gainn has showcased the fascinating and delicious flavours of colourful Korean cuisine, with its rice-based dishes, soups, meat, fish, plenty of vegetables and soya. The best way to experience the food here is to order a selection of different dishes to be shared with your dining companions. Wow, we thought its just another 🇰🇷 restaurant, boy we didn’t know it was a Michelin recommended place. 😉 the food is good, very authentic tasting similar to what we had in 🇰🇷 previously. The side dishes are good too, kimchi is spicy enough that we need a 🇮🇹 beer to soothe it 🤣 the interior deco isn’t much to look at, doesn’t scream posh or high price. The price isn’t really too expensive too. Though the place is a bit outta tourist area, there are still many patrons. Wish the manager can smile a bit more 🤪 a good place for a dinner treat. 👍🏻

Google
This must be the best korean food I’ve tried in my life. I didn’t expect to have tried the perfect Korean food here in Rome of all places. Good to see southeast asians speaking multiple languages.

It was a nice experience! I came here with a Korean culture lover, she picked everything from appetizers , main dishes and drinks. Their kimchi was delicious. The place though could use a makeover.

We had dinner on Friday, and the food was good and service acceptable. However I was expecting more from a multiyear Michelin star restaurant. On the second night we decided to order takeaway (as per website) as my wife didn't want to dine out. I WhatsApp the restaurant twice and no reply. I went to the restaurant (just 2 mins away), showed him the WhatsApp message to the male boss. He looked at me, told me "no takeaway" very rudely. I was shocked to see his hostility towards a returning customer. No explanation for no takeaway, nor offer to sit me for dine-in. Very disappointing.

We are visiting from Los Angeles and this place is as good as some of the best Korean restaurants in L.A. (and we have MANY). The lady boss sat us down right away even though we didn't have a reservation (Michelin sign on the door). She was very friendly, and so was the staff. Food came quickly with traditional side dishes. A very enjoyable experience. I was very surprised by the negative reviews found here. We did not feel we were mistreated at all. Highly recommend to those who want to eat something different than pizza and spaghetti!

Google
Making a reservation was easy and they were so accommodating when we were late because we accidentally took a taxi to the wrong restaurant. We had our baby with us and they were so sweet to him and helped us get his stroller to the table. On top of that, the food came out fast and it was delicious. The portions were great and it was also really reasonably priced. Definitely pay them a visit when you're in Rome!

Google
Fantastic Korean food. Must come and try! Beef fried rice is the must order here. Beef soup as well!

Google
Definitely the best Korean restaurant in Rome, without a doubt. Although it can be challenging to book a table the same day, make sure to reserve at least a couple of days in advance to avoid disappointment. The food presentation is always next level and Makgeolli is served in a culturally traditional way. The Korean fried chicken is the best I have ever tasted. Banchan are, again, next level and some of the best I've tried despite smaller portion sizes ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Yelp
Absolutely amazing, for having Korean food in Italy, awesome. It's a must have and it's Michelin rated

Shandy H.

Yelp
We initially chose this place just because we were craving Asian food and it was near our hotel, we were SO pleasantly surprised! The food was so flavorful, it wasn't until after our meal that we realized they had received multiple Michelin stars in the past - they definitely deserved it! Be aware you may have to make a reservation, we were lucky that they were able to squeeze us in as a walk in

Yelp
Great location, located right by the train station. Looks like it's Korean owned but the flavor is a bit tweaked for locals. Japche was to sweet, yukgeijang was not spicy enough and ingredients was off.

Catalina W.

Yelp
owner was not pleasant to begin with, good thing the food was tasteful. The beef soup was very delicious, but the bibimbap was not as Crispy as it traditionally should be. the whole purpose of using the pot was to create a crust....not for decoration. how did it get the Michelin Star...it should be review again.

Yelp
Food was good for Korean food in Rome , priced ok Service was just ok not real friendly especially the owner No smile grumpy old guy. Dining area clean If in Rome and you want Korean Asian food go here.

Yelp
Finding any Korean restaurant in Italy is a challenge, with Rome being your best bet. Gainn, a Michelin reviewed restaurant, will meet your expectation for really good Korean food. The menu will look familiar to anyone who loves Korean food, and the results are as you might hope. Best is to call or WhatsApp for a reservation. The place is small and if you have limited time in Roma and need your Korean fix, plan ahead for the reward.

Yelp
First time to Italy for a family trip, went thru lots of flight troubles and I was exhausted. 5th day in Italy, I found this restaurant in Rome with the Korean flag hanging on the entrance. I never felt so relieved to see a friendly sign welcoming me. At least I wont get lost here. As soon as their restuarnt opened the door at 12:15pm we were welcomed by the restaurant owner and the staff who spoke Korean, and their menu also had multiple translated versions. The food was on point. Maybe it was just my family really wanting a Korean flavor after 5 days in Italy, but it was on point. It was better than some of the Korean restaurants in Los Angeles Ktown that is known to be good. (maybe their kimchi was bit salty and sweet) The fact that they offer so many diverse korean dish that is actually good even for my Korean parent standard, in middle of Italy where Korean restaurant was so hard to find, this place is awesome. It is 5m walk from Roma Termini train station.

Yelp
Who knew Korean food can taste good in Italy?! I have to say, I initially had low expectations to find solid Asian food in Rome, but I'm glad I was proven wrong. The restaurant is Korean owned, and I hate to admit it but the food tastes better than some Korean restaurants in Boston. I appreciate that they have makgeolli as well (rice wine).

Kelly C.

Yelp
Walking around we noticed a Michelin star on the outside of this restaurant so we had to try it. Shocked that we would find reasonably priced authentic Korean food in Rome we were very curious as to what would be inside. Clean and relaxed atmosphere once inside. The friendly staff and the food were delicious. I don't remember what we ordered, but we loved how many sides we got with it. One of the items was a soup-like beef bowl that was surprisingly sweet. Didn't particularly care for it, but my husband said it tasted good with the rice. The appetizers we ordered were dumplings and that was amazing! If you are in the area and craving something other than pasta and pizza then this is the place to go. The food comes out quick, hot, and delicious.

Tselmuun S.

Yelp
The food has gotten so much better over the years. Few yrs ago we used to go there simply because there weren't any other options but now we go there because finally the food tastes more authentic. Perhaps they changed their cook, whatever it is... it has gotten better. If you are tired of eating pasta and pizza definitely check it out

Tori S.

Yelp
Third day in Rome we wanted some Korean bbq. We had googled a few places but this was the one with the highest rating, and we found out for very good reason. We both got the Bulgolgi. It came with multiple side dishes, all delicious. The service was insanely fast. I mean within 5-8 minutes? We later found out they had received their first Michelin star this year, well deserved. When In Rome! Check them out. You will be so happy that you did!

Kim N.

Yelp
This place has amazing food! Very authentic Korean food. Menu has a lot of options, some dishes are not even offered by korean restaurants in America. Food is 5/5. Service is also 5/5. If you come on weekend there maybe long line.

Nirisha G.

Yelp
Excellent food. Nice way to breakup eating Italian for 4 straight days. Had options for vegetarian.

Cathy H.

Yelp
The restaurant decor was inviting and modern. The food was authentic Korean. We are from Los Angeles Ca and have a large Korean community. This place hit the spot since we were looking for more than pizza and pasta.

Steve G.

Yelp
I stumbled on this place after a week in Rome. I was looking for something different. I can only eat so many pizzas. Loved this place! Great service, great food. I highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is super amazing and the prices are so good !! You have to try !!! I live in La and this place is as authentic of koreatown in LA

Yelp
Good Korean food in Rome wasn't something that I was expecting. After eating Italian food for the past couple of days, our entire family and family friends were starting to crave the taste of the homeland. We found it through Gainn. It's a somewhat small place, so you got to be sure to get there early. The most impressive part was that our server, who seemed to be of South Asian descent, was very fluent at Korean and was a very good host. His presence made our meal very enjoyable and relaxing after dealing with about 10 restaurants shoving fliers in our faces on our walk here. The food was beyond delicious. Unlike some Korean restaurants here in America, they didn't compromise on any of the flavors or spices to appeal to the "majority" population. I got the beef stew and it hit the spot for me. The banchan's selection was somewhat small (about 4 dishes) but each of them were very delicious. My only gripe is that they don't refill them like at most Korean restaurants. If you're feeling something Korean in Rome, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed.

Josh M.

Yelp
Wanted something different after 10 days in Italy , being from LA, this Korean food was pretty spot on and can compete with some ktown restaurants. Service is good, very authentic Korean.

Brian P.

Yelp
This place is the best Korean restaurant we have ever been in our trips to Europe. We went there twice while we were in Rome. The food was good and there was nothing to complain about. Highly recommend to the visitors staying in Rome.

Nona G.

Yelp
I think it's the best Korean restaurant in the city central. It's close to Termini, it has good service and close-to-authentic Korean food. It's not pricey and the service is good and fast.

Gwin B.

Yelp
Good food and service. I ordered soup, pajeon and another food that I don't know the exact name. It's delicious and price is just right. Hard to find a nice koresn restaurant like this one

Anna L.

Yelp
Legit great Korean food! We had between the six of us probably 10 dishes...they were all delicious. The banchan was excellent too. If you are looking for something different than pasta and craving Korean food, this will hit the spot. The owners are very sweet and welcoming. They even called a taxi for us. Will def be back again when visiting Italy.

Dvtvdhm P.

Yelp
A very charming and kindness of staffs here. Food is delicious and tasty. This is way better than what we eaten elsewhere in USA.

Johnny H.

Yelp
Pretty good Korean food. Was traveling in Europe for a week and craving Korean food. Food was much better than I expected from a Korean restaurant in Italy. Had kimchi jjigae and dooroochigi and kimchijeon. All of them were pretty good. Tasted like homemade food. Inside was clean and cozy and servers were quite friendly too. My wifey and I left very satisfied and full.

Julie S.

Yelp
Tasty, inexpensive, no frills Korean fare and pleasant service. Reservations are advisable unless you're there early (as we were, just before the rush around 6:30).

Rod D.

Yelp
The owner or cashier has the personality of a wet mop and the charm of a mothball. Food was so so and the banshans were very very ordinary. I had a 16euro bibimbap which did not have but a few slivers of beef. My wife's bulgoki was somewhat ok. They were not worth the prices they charged. I know I came from LA where Korean food is top notch even better than Seoul.

Robinson R.

Yelp
Good korean food- nothing memorable, but good and a welcomed alternative to the italian fare we've been having everyday.
