Ristorante Il Giardinetto

Superb food, and great value. Had the tuna carpaccio, octopus, cod (whole piece) and seafood (local catch) pasta. All exemplary, in particular the tuna and octopus. Service and attentiveness was clearly distinguished. Will definitely return!

Wow, What else to say, excellent food, superlative staff and prepared, dream location, if you want to eat well and amaze friends and relatives, it is a guaranteed success, a must try.

What a nice surprise. The best lake views in Italian style combined with Michelin level tasting experience without the buzz. All the dishes were creative and increadible and so was the wine recommendations and the service who also explained us every dish and guided us through the dinner. All at bargain cost. Their Google photos are so much understatement.

We went to this beautiful restaurant for my birthday after reviewing many places and comments. It's always hard to see which comments are genuine and which ones are just exaggerated. But I have to say the place, the food and the people at this restaurant will honestly make certain you will have a special and memorable experience at there restaurant. We call a few hours before to make sure they would have a table for us and briefly mentioned it was for a birthday occasion. They had reserved the best table without us asking and even made a special birthday decoration. I honestly had one of my most memorable moments in Lake Como and that's also thanks to them. They will make sure feel at home and that you enjoy your time. Thanks a lot again for this evening

Beautiful location on the lake with amazing view. Overpriced food for the portions they serve, average food for my taste. Service was definitely below expectation. Different servers were serving us so it made the organization difficult in my option. One of the servers poured the wrong wine into my almost full glass, we explained that so he took my glass away and didn’t replace it and didn’t return to our table. After explaining that to another server, I got another glass of the right wine but got charged for both! As we were leaving, we explained why we weren’t happy so they offered to refund us for the wine but I just wanted to get out of there, not the most friendly or organized service. My husband is Italian so there was no miscommunication but personally don’t recommend for tourists.

Excellent experience all round. Best meal we’ve eaten in Italy. Excellent service, informative, welcoming & attentive staff. Food delicious- all local and fresh. Beautiful wines. Spectacular lakefront terrace. Had coffee post meal there watching the moon & lake. Treasured memory. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you. A fantastic experience.

So we emailed Beppe for our reservations tonight. Beppe is the chef's brother. My boyfriend and his best friend were here in September '22 and discovered this restaurant during the Moto Guzzi Centinario plus 1 (because of COVID). They said they had their best meal in all of northern Italy HERE during their 3 week motorcycle tour! I have patiently been looking forward to coming here. Hours are limited from 12:15-2:30, and 7:15 - 9:30 Tuesday - Sunday. We arrived Monday!! Had to wait 1 more day! Il Giardinetto is elegant without being stuffy. When you first walk in you are greeted by nicely dressed waiters in black jackets who then escort you to your table and then the view hits you, it just takes your breath away! We so enjoyed the textures, flavors, and presentation. Our waiters were attentive without hovering. Beppe is so warm and personable and makes his rounds to each table. What a kind, genuinely patient man. You feel like a guest in their home. He took the time to explain their slow cooking process and how they have updated their dishes from 20 years ago. They slow cook their meats at 75 degrees (167 degrees Fahrenheit) for 18 hours. The result is just so refined. I don't have the words to explain it. Bookmark this place now, and do visit when in Mandello del Lario. (The home of Moto Guzzi Motorcycles) Of course we will be back at least one more time before we depart Como. There's also lunch which we haven't experienced yet..,

Just came back from a two week trip in Italy with my wife to visit the family. The next restaurants will be reviews of ristorante that I visited Il Giardinetto is situated on the shore of Lake Como, unfortunately Yelp wouldn't recognize the lists of restaurants I visited. The view is absolutely stunning as well as the food. I had the risotto with mushrooms as an appetizer and the spaghetti con Missoltini, as an entree. My wife had the Stracciatella and the Veal Milanese. Panna cotta and Tiramisu were our desserts. A must go restaurant if you are visiting Mandello Del Lario on Lake Como.
