The 20 Best Restaurants On The Amalfi Coast - Amalfi Coast - The Infatuation

"Ristorante Il Pino serves great Italian food at moderate prices, especially considering its striking location immersed in nature with a premier view of the coast. Locals head here for the view and excellent dishes. Their covered restaurant terrace is an idyllic spot for a breezy lunch or a romantic dinner. It’s formal but not overly so, with a quiet elegance thanks to white tablecloths, royal blue plates, and floral or ceramic center tables. Highlights are the mixed fish starter, the truffle paccheri, and their homemade scialatielli with seafood, all to pair with their wine of choice." - federica bocco

This is hands down the best restaurant we went to in Praiano, Capri, or Amalfi. We had a 6:15 reservation to watch the 6:30 pm sunset, which was incredible. The owners Antonio and Rafaelle are very lively and hospitable. Appetizers: We got the caprese, which came with 3 cheeses, and octopus, which was the most tender we’ve ever had and not chewy. Pasta: We got the tuna and pistachio pasta, fish cannelloni, and ricotta and zucchini ravioli. All were amazing, but you *absolutely* must get the tuna and pistachio pasta. Meats: Italian steak, lamb, prawns, and sea bass fillet - all really amazing, but highly recommend the lamb. Dessert: We got their homemade tiramisu and the pistachio pie. Amazing tiramisu. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone. It’s a must visit when in Praiano. Everything is well done and the atmosphere was classic Italian.

My husband and I visited in July. Staying in Praiano for our Honeymoon was the best idea because of places like this. Immediately we were welcomed like family. The view was phenomenal. Our server was Kasia or Karolina (sorry). She was a lovely Polish woman and she was very sweet! There was an older gentleman that was so sweet. I do not know if he was the owner or a worker but he was going table to table welcoming everyone and it was just great. This truly felt like a fine dining experience. The food was so fresh. The presentation was amazing. The wine was delicious. The seafood was some of the best and as a Floridian that is a big compliment! I am counting down the days until we return to Praiano. This will be our first stop again!

LOVE this restaurant!!! My husband and I dined here on our last night in Italy and I wish we had discovered it sooner so we could have gone more than once. The food was incredible and the service and atmosphere was even better. We were treated like family by the server/owner and staff. They were incredibly accommodating and sweet. My husband loved the melon cello so they brought him extra!! We had so much fun here and I was sad to leave at the end of the night!

If you can you should go here. Amazing local, fresh and homemade food. Atmosphere is amazing, they keep you engaged and you laugh alot during dinner, you sing along etc. Food was to die for. We had caprese salad, stuffed artichoke, raviolli with zuchini and beef tagliata. I couldn’t choose wich dish i liked better. We finished with classic tiramisu. Would come back to amalfi coast just for this restaurant.

Google
The sweetest staff ever!!! Manager (owner?) went out of his way to have us eat there even though they were on a wait. Gave us prosecco while we waited in the garden for a table to open. It was my husband’s birthday along with half the restaurant lol apparently it’s THE place to go on your birthday . They sing to everyone and put a candle on a dessert! Food was delicious and once again, staff was amazing. The views were also incredible.

Google
Excellent local, family owned and run restaurant. The food was so fresh and plated to perfection. We ordered the artichoke as a starter and it was incredible. I ordered the shrimp linguine and my wife ordered the tuna pasta. For desert they gave us a meloncello which I had never had before but it was a refreshing end to a wonderful dinner. And the view from the dining room was 10/10 overlooking Praiano.

Looking for a place to eat late at night after returning to our apartment, we decided to try Ristorante Il Pino - and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were not only very friendly but also knowledgeable, and the food was excellent. It was especially interesting to see how they prepared the dishes - different from what we were used to, but full of flavor and really well done. The presentation was also beautiful - they arranged the food on the plates with great care. I highly recommend this place! 🐙🥗

Google
Cannot recommend enough! The best food we ate during our week on the Amalfi coast, fantastic view, and the entire staff is so welcoming and kind. We loved our experience so much that we came back two days later for a cooking class, which was perfect. We learned so much, the food was delicious, and the price was unbeatable! Thank you Simone and Catarina!

Yelp
Fantastic southern Italian cuisine focusing on traditional offerings. Smaller setting with bright décor and a small bar area. We were promptly seated and ordered some of the local white wine which is always great and super inexpensive. We split a few antipasti including a misto which had, among other offerings, fried zucchini flowers and crispy calamari, all were great. I selected the gnocchi which came with a light cheese sauce that accented the fresh spinach pasta. be advised that service, like most southern Italian locations will be slower, but that is part of the charm, you won't be rushed. Also be prepared to be sung to by the owner's father who loves to entrain the guests. Yhey have a free courtesy car if you are in Praiano.

Yelp
We had high expectations for this restaurant, but when the overpriced - 4 piece ravioli came out cold their solution of microwaving it lost us. In fact both dishes we ordered was cold. While the view and beauty of the restaurant was great, the food in terms of above as well as taste was a great disappointment.

Yelp
We resided in the hotel and decided to eat here one of the evenings of our stay. Our table was not ready for our reservation time, however, they acknowledged we were waiting. The owner was so entertaining, he continued to sing throughout the night which we loved. We met a lot of great people while we were dinning and talked about our lives throughout the evening. The drinks, ambiance, and food were good. Come prepared to spend money.

Yelp
Gimmicky spot filled with tourists. Overall this was fine but not a place that I imagine many locals going. The Americans surrounding us did seem to really enjoy the experience (& the singing waiter), so if you are searching for an English-speaking place with a jovial atmosphere, this would be fine. A few of the waiters and a man who appeared to be the manager were very kind, and we wished we had more interaction with them--we were waited on by 5 different people. Food was just okay compared to other local restaurants we patronized. It was convenient that they offer a shuttle to other hotels--hilarious that they have a nice little arrangement where you meet the shuttle at the souvenir shop across the street lol. Shuttle driver was a darling man.

Yelp
We came on our Honeymoon... it was perfecto... Bellisimo! Thank you to Simon and his team for making this a night to remember... we loved our food and the service was perfect! Grazie Mille!

Yelp
Everything was great! Ahmad was a wonderful server and Rambo and Antonio were sure to keep us entertained. A true Italian experience. Food was great and service was quick! Highly recommend

Yelp
Incredible first dinner on the coast! Even had a worker sing to the crowd! So much fun, delicious food and beautiful views

Yelp
Top notch service. Our table wasn't ready for our reservation time but was offered FREE drink and 3 different people came to let us know how things were progressing. It was only 2 minutes late. Plus the owner sang Italian songs and was a hoot. Kept things lively and entertaining. Good food. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We had a great dining experience. Food was very good. Waiter was great! One staff member even broke into song and serenaded the entire restaurant.

Yelp
The view is beautiful, the service was great, and the food was tasty! They started with a basil infused ricotta which I really enjoyed and plan to try to recreate at home. I had a shellfish risotto which was very good. I had the fish special, which was tuna with eggplant salad (wish there was more on my plate) which was delicious! I finished with a chocolate trilogy dessert. Everything looked beautiful with flowers, gold details, and sauces drizzled on the plates. I enjoyed everything I ate and the serving sizes were small enough that I was able to eat everything without feeling uncomfortably stuffed. As I was eating the sun was setting so the view was extra spectacular. The staff was helpful and attentive making the experience great!

Yelp
Possibly the best meal and overall dining experience that my wife and I had in our 10 day trip to Italy (6 days on the Amalfi Coast). The tuna, octopus, and squid appetizers were all so fresh they must have been pulled out of the water just hours earlier. Everyone from our busboy Luca to our waiter Simone to the rest of the service staff was not only attentive, but clearly took great pride in their work and wanted us to have a phenomenal experience- which we certainly did! Do yourself a favor and be sure to plan a night here while in Praiano. PS- most people were dressed nicely, but my wife and I were still in beach clothes with Vespa helmet hair and nobody seemed to mind.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed an amazing experience at il Pino last night. We arrived early and were the first couple to be seated at a beautiful table overlooking Positano, Capri and the Amalfi Coast for sunset. Breathtaking views. Met the owner and head chef Dinner, wine and service were outstanding. We will absolutely visit again.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Simon and staff were very attentive. Freshest seafood and great local wine selection.

Yelp
Between the food, service, and view this restaurant was a total hit. We got there just before they opened for dinner and they sat us immediately and brought complimentary champagne for us to sip until the kitchen opened. The fish I ordered was perfectly cooked and the octopus started was absolutely delicious. Plus the server and kitchen were incredibly accommodating for my gluten free needs.

Yelp
Best restaurant we have been to in ITALY. Amazing food. Great staff. The view is amazing and features Positano in the distance. The servers were friendly and helpful. We even got a hug on the way out from the owner! The lamb is possibly the best thing on the menu. The hotel is so-so but the dining is 5 star.

Yelp
This is our first trip to Italy and the food has been amazing throughout. This place was one of our favorites! The owner seated us and took amazing care of us all evening. The food was exceptional and the lamb was especially unique. Truly a delight!!!

Yelp
An amazing dining experience overlooking the pristine blue waters of the Mediterranean! My only complaint were the ants that kept invading our table... such is the price one pays for the view. We began with stuffed sardines and fried, stuffed squash bottoms. Next time I think we'll just skip the starters and get right into the pasta dishes, as these were the real stars of the show. My spaghetti alla vongole was positively loaded with at least a pound of clams. The pappardelle with lobster was lovely as well and boasted half a lobster! The sauces on the two dishes tasted nearly identical due to copious use of butter and garlic, but as it was so delicious, I won't complain. We followed this up with a grilled seafood plate that featured langoustine, prawns, octopus and tuna. Not as amazing as the pasta dishes but still very good. For dessert, there was a sultry strawberry tiramisu. A true 5-star experience!

Barbara B.

Yelp
The ambiance was amazing. The staff was attentive. Simone took such good care of us and explained in detail the menu. We had the baked eggplant ragu for appetizer, pasta with langostino, mussels and clams, pasta with beans and mussels. For entree I had a sliced marinated beef which was out of this world, and my husband had the baked tuna. Of course cappuccino, tiramisu and lemon cake for dessert. The food was all prepared to perfection! At the end we were offered a ride back to our Villa. I highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed at all! I wish we were still in Praiano just to go back again.

Yelp
Il Pino was the best dining experience I had on the Amalfi Coast. The view of the Mediterranean was amazing from our table next to the open floor to ceiling window. During our meal, the bright blue water view turned into sunset view...it was absolutely stunning and romantic. The service at Il Pino was impeccable. We didn't feel rushed or ignored...just perfect. Our glasses were continually filled, our dishes were explained in detail, and our fresh fish was served to us table side. As soon as we were seated, we were treated to glasses of champagne, bruchetta, and 4 different types of bread along with their homemade olive oil. What a great start. We then had the artichoke and stuffed zucchini flower appetizers. Both were delicious. I loved the zucchini flowers stuffed with fresh ricotta. Sublime. We, then enjoyed our pasta course of open faced seafood ravioli and lemon and shrimp risotto. The open faced ravioli had tons of clams and mussels that were so perfectly cooked..never chewy or gummy. The lemon and shrimp risotto was served in the biggest lemon I've ever seen! This may be one of the best risottos I have ever had....it was giving the crab risotto from Minetta Tavern a run for its money. For our main course, we had the fresh local fish called cefalo prepared in a salt crust. It was served table side with a tomato and arugula salad. The fish was moist and the simple salad was so flavorful. I had the limoncello dessert and my BF had the almond cake thing which were both fantastic! We had the best evening ever! I thank my friend, Marjorie, for recommending this restaurant. I would love to go back if I ever have the chance.

Yelp
The management of this restaurant changed in April 2014 and the menu has been changed as well. That said, we enjoyed a very pleasant meal at this restaurant. Our meals (fresh fish of the day, swordfish steak) were well prepared and nicely presented. The service was both efficient and friendly. The cost of both the meal and a bottle of local wine was quite reasonable. A complementary liqueur of Amaretto was also much appreciated. Overall, a very pleasant experience and an enjoyable meal.

Yelp
Loved the hostel, loved the ristorante Il Pino. A bit pricey but yuuuuummy! We stayed 2 days and if you're going down the street before you get to the church on the left there s a walk way which takes you down to a BEAUTIFUL PRIVATE BEACH!

Carolene M.

Yelp
The view at this restaurant is priceless. If you go for sunset, you won't be disappointed. The waiters were really great and to our delight a complimentary welcome drink and small bite started the evening off. The restaurant was around half full when we went but no Italians, just tourists. Usually this is a bad sign, but the food was in fact wonderful.

Jackie T.

Yelp
Ristorante Pino is under new management. There is no lobster or spaghetti vongole on the menu. However they do have lovely fresh fish. The meal was very good but not "amazing". The 4 € rating is also overstated. The meal was very reasonable, as was the wine list. Overall we had a lovely dinner at a reasonable price.

Urszula w.

Yelp
They will not only give you food, they will provide you with experience!! Catch of the day brought to your table fresh so you can choose the fish, tomato and wine ice cream complementary between the meals, and the view...amazing!!!Worth the trip, will be coming back to that place for sure!!!!

Craig B.

Yelp
Wow... This place is amazing. This is fine dining and you do pay for the privilege but it is worth every cent! Do yourself a favour and book a table...
