Ristorante Il Principe

We truly loved our experience at Il Principe on Saturday night. Everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The décor is stunning: classic and simple, yet full of details and original touches. Service was impeccable, attentive, and very generous. The tasting menu was excellent and so plentiful that we even brought the pastries home with us. And the 2014 bubbles we had were simply delicious, offered at such a remarkably reasonable price. A place not to be missed!

Chef put so much thought into every dish. Not a single detail was missed from color, texture, temperature, placemet, order, and flavor...Oh my god the flavor!!! Every bite was the best food I evertested! Grazie!!!

I enjoyed a fantastic fine dining tasting menu here with my wife and father. The different courses and dishes were fun and interesting with plenty of local Campanian influences. The staff were all friendly and explained the dishes well. I enjoyed the little touches like adding sources and herbs at the table. I’ve bookmarked the restaurant so I can recommend it to friends and visit again next time I am in the area.

It was the second time we’re here. The wine was terrific and the dishes was so yummy😋😋

We had a wonderful evening in Il Principe restaurant. All of the team are amazing and so proffessional but the food really stole the show. The culinary creations were truly delicious and the stories surrounding them are enchanting. Thank you for creating a special menu for us and an extremely special evening. I don't think it will be long before a Michelin Star adorns your wall.

This restaurant absolutely should be on your list of must eat places if you're in the Pompeii region. Everything from the welcome, the attentive yet unobtrusive service, to the light background music sets this place apart without even starting on the food. The flavours were excellent, the ingredients fresh and the wine list extensive. Overall an amazing night out. We've eaten at a few places around Pompeii and this is by far our favourite. Go, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely restaurant with excellent food and service We opted for the blind tasting menu "the soul" and 5 wine pairing. The amuse bouche set the tone a wonderful selection of textures. The pasta dishes were full of favour and complemented by local regional wines. Stand out dish was the artichokes cooked 3 ways covered in an artichoke ash

Since we made our booking, Il Principi gained a Michelin star. It was easy to make our reservations and not an intimidating experience. Beautiful inside with an enclosed patio/herb garden. Beautiful presentation of the food!

The food was flawless. Every succeeding course was better than the last. The flavors were unique, symphonic, and perfectly paired. The service was unmatched. Everything was planned to enhance the experience, from the timing out of the kitchen to the way to best enjoy the dish. The chef was hilarious, charismatic, and personable. The ambiance was niche and unassuming. It's safe to say we will be back. Hands down the best Michelin dining experience we have ever had. P.S the food was so good a couple with a botched proposal stayed for dessert!

This was my first Michelin dining experience. We had made our reservation months earlier. I'm not sure we needed it--the place was far from busy--but I also didn't see them take walk-ins, so go ahead and get a reservation to be on the safe side. Il Principe is about a 25-minute walk from the Pompeii ruins park. It's a simple and rather earthy-feeling space, with an herb garden in the back and a fair amount of wood in the dining space. When we were there, there was no bathroom access, which was strange... they said it was a local water issue. They provided us with sanitizing wipes, though. We ordered a la carte and were brought a number of other delicious things along with our meal. It's been over a month now, but I don't know that I would have remembered that night all of the delicious things we ate. See my photos and know that everything was divine. There was a little breaded piece that I dipped in this odd and delicious yellow tomato and garlic liquid... I shall think of that liquid for the rest of my life. My friend and I are far from sommeliers. Our server suggested wine pairings for us and we were happy with it. I had the cheese dessert plate as my second course; my first was spaghetti. The prices are excellent. The two of us spent a total of about 100 euro and we ate quite a lot. This place is perfect. It should be more popular.
