Ristorante La Zanzara

This restaurant in a former small fishing station on an islet in the Po Delta is unique. Here I had perhaps the best meal of many in a month-long Italian trip hosting a small-group food & wine tour and researching for future ones. I took my tour group to La Zanzara with high expectations, which were exceeded. This is a produce-driven restaurant where you are in the chef's hands - he serves seafood from the delta and local Adriatic prepared in his own way - and he does it beautifully. We allowed the sommelier to select wines for us and each pairing was excellent, with alternatives being offered for those who had specific tastes. Staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating and the setting and decor simple but beautiful. I can't wait to bring next year's tour group back here.

A wonderful place. We managed to get in without a reservation by chance, exhausted after a whole day of riding motorcycles, after a dreadful hailstorm that caught us on the way, dressed inappropriately for the venue (for which we deeply apologize), and yet we were treated like royalty. Delicious wine, food, and incredibly professional service. Highly recommended!

Michelin rated , a fine dining tedtauramt without pretense. Specialties that span the borders between veneto and emilia-romagna. A true experience for the palate. Off the beaten path, in a rustic and romantic environment, it is definitely worth a trip if you're in the area. Get a designated driver because you dont want to miss out on vine pairings to the dishes.

What a lovely location! Dinner was great and 1 Michelin Star is well deserved. Staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming with good English. We'll certainly return if in the area. Thank you La Zanzara
