Le Tamerici

I LOVE this place. Carlotta is the nicest most caring ever, we felt so welcome and would come back in a heartbeat. The food was SO good and the wine that they recommended was delicious. Rome was a longtime dream and they made it even better!! It felt like coming home to eat with family and we would highly recommend it to everyone. We loved you, thank you so much!!

We ate here twice, 21 years apart -- in 2005 and in 2026. The place is a gem, and I will always come here whenever I visit Rome. Run by a married couple, and they're both very hands-on; it's a cozy, warm environment, and the food is just superb. Also, crucially, it is a quiet oasis in the middle of the most hectic part of the city. It's a place where you'll have a blast sitting with your family eating and talking and drinking for hours, until you realize it's much later than anyone realized.

Absolutely fabulous experience. A hidden gem in the midst of a busy touristy area. The patrons seemed to be mostly Italian. The service was very friendly and English is well spoken. The food was fresh and delicious. Best of all the ambiance was elegant, yet humble. You felt you were in a local favorite restaurant.

We booked based on Le Tamerici being Michelin recommended and close to our hotel. We were not disappointed. We arrived at 19:30 and chose the fish based set menu and the wine flight. We were also offered a fresh porcini mushroom picked that day which chef added to the first course. We had a terrific waiter, very knowledgable and patient who guided us through the courses and the wine. Later in the evening he was joined by the chef and owner who helped with the service. Terrific food, beautifully cooked and an excellent if unexpected wine flight. We chose to sit inside and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing with a nice buzz about it. An expensive night out but this was our treat to ourselves for our Rome vacation and i cannot praise it enough. Gave a personal thank you to the chef and waiter at the end of the meal. I would completely recommend Le Tamerici ! Bravo !

A Hidden Gem in Rome! From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what truly elevated my experience was the exceptional service—by far the best I’ve had in Rome! The staff were attentive, friendly, and made me feel like a cherished guest. I treated myself to a dessert and coffee, and both were absolutely divine. The dessert was a perfect balance of flavor and texture—elegant, rich, and unforgettable. And the coffee? Smooth, aromatic, and the ideal companion to end a perfect meal. If you’re in Rome and want a place that delivers on both taste and hospitality, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!

Despite the positive online reviews, my experience at Le Tamerici was unfortunately disappointing. I was let down by the overall quality of the dishes, which lacked both flavor and creativity, not only in taste but also in presentation. Out of the eight dishes ordered, the only items that stood out positively were the dessert and the beef carpaccio. Additionally, more attention from the staff is needed. Due to a lack of care, red wine was spilled on my outfit, which affected the overall experience. Leaving this incident aside, the price/quality ratio remains far from acceptable. For these reasons, I can only give one star. I wish the team the best moving forward.

Must say we satisfied with foods, taste set menu is really worthy to try with reasonable price. However, when I asked about sharing the dish with others, staff said “In a michelin starred restaurant, cannot share the dish”..it is first time to hear it in any michelin starred restaurant..I totally agree with staffs recommendation about high value of taste set menu after dinner, but it is better communicated different way to convince customer to order the taste set..I haven’t felt good to listen it at the beginning as customer. But still general service and quality of taste and value of taste set are very high level and I recommend to visit and try modernized Italian cuisine in Le Tamerici and willing to visit again. Attached photos are from 80 euros taste set menu. All were amazing!

A very wonderful experience! Host was very welcoming throughout the meal. Carlotta was amazing and really made our night. Very friendly service. The food was delicious. We had never had many of the combinations, they were pleasantly surprising! A perfect location if you are looking for a beautiful dinner in Rome.

Much better than I would expect the majority surrounding restaurants to be. Great food and good service. We really enjoyed the chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream, passion fruit, and mint. It was much better than we expected and the flavors went together unexpectedly well. Great price for good food that was well prepared. Many options on menu.

One might arrive to the city of Rome with expectations of stuffing their face with pizza and pasta for the duration of the journey, but the city boasts a level of cuisine that is a lot more complicated and likely confusing to those who think they know Italian food coming from other nations. Finding Le Tamerici in the Michelin Guide, slammed right in the center of the most busy tourist areas, it was a pleasant little spot to grab dinner. There is a patio on a quaint little side street that feels like an off roam from an interstate of tourist traffic flow in the direction of Trevi Fountain. The eggplant appetizer is amazing, loaded with flavors and rather complex. Again, it isn't exactly for everyone as the profile is complex and very herbal. As a matter of fact, herbs play an equal role in flavor as the main ingredient. Next up was the Cod 2020 dish, which personally, was not something I could get behind. A chewy, borderline slimy preparation of the fish with some very odd infusions that i just did not find tasty whatsoever. It was an odd dish. However, the sea bass was wonderfully prepared and elegantly plated, with a crispy skin and loaded with natural flavor. Service was excellent. Thus, I am not going to let one bad dish ruin the experience when others were so well executed. Wine list is spectacular and if you haven't quite figured it out yet, trying out some of the most sought after wines in Italy costs at least half of what it does in the US.

Visited: March 2023 Food: among the best seafood I had. Interesting idea about dessert which turned out to be very good. Price: it wasn't a cheap place to eat, but 80-120 euro including tax for a tasting menu at this quality isn't bad at all. Tip is not required but leaving a few euro for a tip will make the waiter/waitress quite happy. Service: impeccable. The guests at the next table had young kids and the chef made off-menu for the kids and even exchanged a plate of pasta for one kid as they didn't like it. When I asked the waiter to pass my appreciation to the chef for the delicious seafood and the chef came out to say hi himself! They have a large selection of wines and it seems to be a good place for dates and groups.

Lovely little osteria, with pleasant and quiet ambiance not far from the Fountain Trevi. Sadly, the pasta was undercooked; not merely al dente, but chewy & granular. Not so great. The service was ho-hum at best: brusque & impersonal. Bread was included with my meal and when my wife had one slice, 4 Euros was added to our bill! Sorry. Best to try the place next door if you are in the vicinity.

Beware! Uber gourmet. Very small portions. We are not big eaters but for 26 euro we expected more than 50 grams of fish for lunch. It was literally a third of filet. Nothing but a small smear of peas as an accompanying item. They charged us 8 euro for a basket of five pieces of bread and said it was part of the cover. We would have had no cover without the bread. She said look we did not charge you for the olive oil. I have been in Rome for 3 weeks first time we were ever told we were lucky because they gave us free olive oil. After spending 64 euros for lunch my 115lb wife went back to our place and ate a sandwich. If you wish to eat here please eat first. Really disappointing and the service was painfully slow.

When in Rome.... Listen to chef Jean Luca! Weary from our morning of trekking about the city, we found ourselves in need of food, refreshment, and some relaxation. Down a quiet street near the famed Trevi Fountains is where we found Ristorante Le Tamerici. Away from the stumbling tourists and selfie sticks, we were greeted by the friendly smile of our host Francisco. The accommodating and open seating outside drew my wife and I to this elegant spot, while Francesco's eager attitude and a respectable menu compelled us to sit down. Francisco quickly set us up with cold water and a lovely selection of bread as we browsed the menu. My wife and I boldly decided to enjoy our afternoon with bottle of Chianti and their special 6 course meal. At 50 Euro each, it seemed reasonable and just the palatable adventure we were looking for. And what a treat it was!!! Chef Jean Luca provided us with an amazing experience. As dish after dish of hand crafted culinary art began to come forth, we soon realized just how lucky we were to have sat down here! Absolutely incredible sea food; shrimp, scallops, sea bass, octopus, pasta, and dessert to kill for. Topped off with muscato and espresso. A Quiet, comfortable, fine dining experience, just down the street from Trevi Fountains. Great for English speakers. Prices seemed reasonable for fine dining, but might throw you off if you're just looking for a simple cafe pizza place. Highlights: quick and friendly service, mind blowing seafood, and tiramisu that I would punch a baby for.

What a surprise. What a gem. For a moment, I thought the bill was mis-calculated. A meal that great could not have been that inexpensive. Not cheap, but amazing value for an absolutely wonderful meal. We will be back.
