"The chef was inspired by Italian food culture, especially local cuisines. He gathers ingredients from producers in Nara and goes to the mountains to pick wild vegetables and mushrooms himself. He processes meats like uncured ham and salami himself because he wants his customers to experience the homemade taste. The linguini and tagliolini pastas are also made from scratch. We celebrated my husband’s birthday here. The course menu was fantastic. Each dish was delicately prepared and they were authentically Italian and local ingredients were carefully selected by the chef. We’ve traveled so many countries and Michelin’s award restaurants. We can recommend this place with 100% confidence. The wine selection is limited but Nara isn’t wine country so that’s ok;) This is a delightful surprise in the muddle of old Nara.

My daughter and I had an amazing experience at this lovely hidden gem of a restaurant. Various options are available, but given the warm recommendation for this place our hostess in Nara had given us, we went for the 8-9 course dinner which proved to be absolutely amazing. Highlights were a very fresh and delicate tuna tartarre serving, a very rich and juicy wild boar and bamboo serving and pasta with bear and truffle, which was very rich and savoury. I had four wines with the course, all very satisfying (and reasonably priced). We finished the meal with two great deserts, one combining gelato with a lovely mocca mouse and a great cup of coffee. It was a wonder to see the chef prepare all courses singlehandedly, with the only assistance being a waiter. My impression is that he runs the restaurant as the only chef. With the amount of creativity and skill that goes into these dishes, that's awe inspiring. This restaurant is worth a detour.

Very delicious food. Good, welcoming atmosphere. I enjoyed that give multiple choices for closing the meal before dessert. The wine we had was fabulous as well. Will be coming again for sure.
