"Offering quality and professionalism in a tourist setting, this small restaurant is popular with locals as well as visitors. The menu focuses on imaginatively presented Mediterranean cuisine." - Michelin Inspector

Delicious gluten-free pasta at a good price! We ordered the ragu and fish stew pasta and both pasta were yummy. Service was fast and VERY friendly. The waiter happily recommended a local dry white wine for me to try.

Incredibly delicious food!! Haute cuisine! Price is surprisingly fair for a Michelin restaurant, consider that the portions are small. Great place even for lunch/quick break.

Best meal I had in Stresa. Most delicious rack of lamb cooked to perfection with sweet potatoe and pok choi. Accompanied ba glass of Pinot Gricigo. Great location and lovely staff and very good value for quallity food

Delicious meal in a relaxing environment. We sat outside under the covered patio with heaters. Felt great. Was very warm in indoor section of restaurant. Staff was kind and helpful for choosing a wine. Food was excellent. Food came out very quickly, but were still able to sit and relax at the table for 3+ hours. Risotto and gnocchi were delicious and authentic. Fish was light and very fresh. Would go here again!

Very good lunch. Fills up quickly, though the indoor seats are less popular. Orichette with rabbit was great. The pork ribs still had a bit of bite, but had a great taste. Pretty good value.

One of the best places for food on the cost and in Stresa. We went without booking but the personnel was kind enough to accommodate us, but do try to book in advance cause it can get very busy. The food was just delicious, you must try the Peach parfait it’s heavenly.

Just passed the antipasti and primi piati stage and for sure I can say this restaurant is a great place to enjoy a piece of Italy . Authentic tasty food with the freshest ingredients. Definitely a must eat. Great wine list with equally high quality service.a slight suggestion would be to increase their portions since the good food must be eaten in substantial quantities Back after 2 years to try this great restaurant. The ravioli with riccota and lemon in prawn broth was excellent. Still tasty well presented dishes but in a salmon trout fillet dish, it's not acceptable to find bone fish because it's dangerous. Service has downgraded since a lot of people are served. Dropped to 3star

I came here at lunch with my girlfriend since we couldn't book the evening before as it was full. I understood why it was difficult to book it: it's really good. We got a starter and two main courses. All of the dishes were nicely served and quite scenic and tasty. The starter was a smoked tuna with veggies that was really yummy. My main course was the fish fillet with bread crumbs on top and season veggies that was just amazing. My girlfriend got pasta with cooked fish and tomato sauce that was just special. I really suggest to everyone to go and try it ou!

Yelp
We LOVED our mid-day, Al Fresco dining experience here on a recent Sunday! All are welcome at Lo Stornello: couples, families with children, and even well-behaved dogs! It is simple and unpretentious. The host / proprietor visited everyone's table throughout their dining experience; engaging his patrons and answering questions, always with a smile. We chose the spot for our meal because of its Michelin rating, and it did not disappoint in either culinary or beverage excellence. The owner explained that the wines by the glass are extracted with a "needle" to maintain the integrity of what's left inside the bottle. The wines we shared were outstanding. We began with locally produced assortments of cheese and cured meats. My Tagliatelle with pork sausage was perfect in size and flavor. We finished with a fabulously smooth and rich Flan Cioccolato. High recommendations!

Yelp
We had had a long day so upon seeing the prominent "takeout available" sign outside decided to order the Pistachio encrusted "salmon trout," since that's one of favorite ways to do salmon at home. Despite the sign, the wait staff seemed quite surprised, flabbergasted, and a little overwhelmed by our request, but after sending the head waiter to speak to us the simple order was taken. How surprised we were upon return to our room to find a meager 1/4 teaspoon of finely chopped pistachios only ON THE SKIN SIDE! (Does anyone eat the skin? It is disposed!) Most puzzling! The salmon itself was fresh and fine, but what message was the chef intending to send us!! This restaurant was highly recommended to us by our wonderful local hostess, and I do not want to make a mountain out of a molehill, as most of the dishes we saw carried to tables looked good, but I really don't get this presentation!

Yelp
Popped in for dinner after riding boats around the Lake all day. I had salmon and my wife had a steak. Both were good. Also had wine, described as fruity... hmmmm , not to my taste. Service was good , and the ambience was kinda minimalist hip. I would go back.

Yelp
Very good food and excellent value at lunch (pasta at 12eur, dish "du jour" below 20euros). Kind staff, in the center of Stresa. Michelin rated. Loved it. Outside space available as well !

Yelp
I was just here in Winter (01.02.17) and most of the town is closed. So I was not expecting much. BUT: Great Food, excellence meet a point Nice host Go there and enjoy!!

Yelp
It was a recommendation from a girl in Stresa that I asked for a good restaurant in the vicinity. The place is really nice, modern interior and friendly staff. They speak English and are very helpful when it comes to choosing from the menu. Food was awesome and of high quality. You won't find pizza here (they do have some pasta), but when you go to such a place you're not looking for pizza ;) Wines were great and the desserts marvelous. Quality has its price, though. But it's worth every penny/cent. Full recommendation and I will definitely come back.

Yelp
Excellent food and superb service. Highly recommend for a small/local Italian restaurant.
