Ristorante Mugolone

Everything was delicious. The risotto with mushrooms was amazing. We ordered another dish with slowly cooked meat that was delicious.

Everything was amazing. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had the liver and onion aperitif, braised veal cheek with sweet potato purée and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Although the portion for the veal was small, for the price, it was extremely tender and delicious.

What an absolute treasure Ristorante Mugolone is! We are staying in a nearby castle resort and drove into Siena for the evening. We were a party of 5, one sophisticated foodie, two particular eaters and two picky teenagers! We passed up multiple restaurants and Ristorante Mugolone was a fit for our crew! They recommend reservations but were able to accommodate our last minute party of 5 Our server was the perfect host, warm, knowledgeable and accommodating! Even though it was not on the menu, they were able to make a mista salad happen and buttered noodles for a picky teen! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ristorante Mugolone Total CROWD PLEASER! As for our foodie, he said it compared to the Michelin Star restaurant he just went to in Rome, the service and the food were outstanding! So good that the rest of our party who couldn’t be with us tonight will be going back tomorrow! Siena is a lovely place to visit and I highly recommend dining with Ristorante Mugolone!

Absolutely amazing. The place is great, the location is perfect just between the Duomo and the Piazza del Campo. Super curated, traditional home made Tuscan cuisine. And what make it really special is the service, It was exquisite, charming and attentive. 10 out of 10. Highly recommended.

Our best dinning experience in beautiful Siena. Our Host Simone was absolutely fantastic. He and our server Alessandro left no stone unturned when it came to creating a wonderful evening for us. The food was amazing! Everyone dish was creative and delicious. Pictured are a few of the dishes I had personally, which included Veal Cheek, that for me was the single best item I had during my stay in Italy. Simone’s attention to detail was something that I have seen rarely in the states. Helping us with detailed descriptions of menu items and decisions on wine choices was above and beyond a hosts normal call to duty. Service like that is something you cannot put a price tag on. He’s a gem! Ps…For a large gathering get the room in the back. Its perfect!

Mugolone, a restaurant in Siena with a strong online presence, creates the impression of being a top-notch dining destination, but unfortunately, our experience fell short of that expectation. The restaurant boasts all the trappings of a high-end establishment, including a tasting menu, well-trained staff, a stylish website, and an inviting ambiance. Upon embarking on the 7-course tasting menu, we found that while the dishes were daring and original, they often lacked the taste, balance, and composition that one would expect from a fine dining experience. A few dishes did stand out as quite delicious, but overall, the culinary journey was inconsistent. The evening's highlights featured a delightful pea soup, delectable tortellonis with truffle, and a scrumptious dessert cheesecake. While the service started off well, it became apparent that the restaurant was understaffed as more guests arrived, leading to a decline in service quality. Unfortunately, the cold served wild boar with tuna paste was a low point, as it was in an overly generous portion, which we struggled to even finish. Additionally, the braised veal with mashed potatoes was utterly disappointing, as it lacked any discernible flavor. Despite the reasonable price of approximately €100 for the tasting menu plus 3 glasses of wine per person, the inconsistent quality of the food makes it difficult to wholeheartedly recommend Mugalones. In summary, the restaurant feels like a tourist trap masquerading as a high-end dining experience.

We went there for lunch. I would like to begin with a complement to all staff members. The two men who served us were both very passionate about the food and Tuscany in general. Teaching us things about the wines, olive oil and cheese. I started with the red prawn linguine, one of the best pasta’s I’ve ever had. The dish was incredibly well flavoured and the prawn was super fresh. As a main course I had veal cheek. It was slow-cooked for 12 hours which made it extremely tender. Lastly, what made this restaurant stand out for me so much isn’t the great food, but the nice people who are so passionate about their own restaurant and Tuscany. Located on a side street off Siena's Campo is Mugolone; one of two Michelin listed restaurants located in Sienna--at the time of this writing--and the superior choice by far. It serves traditional Tuscan food with a modern twist. Diners can pick Al fresco or inside. Service is impecable. The chef will send out some aperitifs to wet your palate. I started off with the GUTTUS CHEESE TORTELLI, ALMONDS, BLACK TRUFFLE, ALCHERMES. It was delicious. The local Tuscan truffles leapt out. The second plate was the catch of the day. I was weary of ordering fish so far from the sea but the choice was rewarded with an excellent choice. I then had the dessert which was to die for. The restaurant has a large selection of wine. Lots of places to eat in Siena, but very few that have the quality of Mugolone. Seek it out and you will be rewarded.

Delicious! What a random stop during a tour of Siena. My group of 4 had lunch here and everything was absolutely delicious! From the amuse-bouche to the tagliolini, the fillet and gnocci. Michelin rated for a reason.

We just happened upon this exquisite restaurant while taking in the sights of Siena and we feel very lucky that we did! This is some of the best food we've had in Italy and the presentation and service was second to none! Prices were reasonable considering the high end nature of everything about this place. It definitely has a gourmet flare, so don't come looking for lasagna or spaghetti with meatballs here. The food was impeccable!

Stopped by for lunch today and boy what a treat. From the amuse bouche to start to the fresh truffle on the beef tartare, simple but PERFECT pasta and a fruit tiramisu that had to be portioned otherwise I wouldn't have been able to stop. A must stop!

This is an exceptional place in Siena! The service is attentive and friendly, the food is not only beautiful to look at, it is as close to perfection as you can get! Upon being seated we were given a cacio e Pepe maracron; OMG! It was so good! Then we got a bread plate and grissini with a great olive oil for dipping. We started with the Sole appetizer to share. That may have been my favorite of the evening. It was so delicate in presentation and flavor. I then had the Pici with pork ragu which was fantastic! My husband had the Fiorantina steak. Wow! That is a treat not to be missed. I then had the Monkfish which also was fantastic. Maybe a touch more salt would have made it even better. We split the dessert that was a dark chocolate with artichokes and a crumble. Yes, artichokes. It was good! They then brought out a lovely plate of tiny desserts and a shot of Limoncello. Truly the perfect evening for our first night in Italy.

We walked in, asked about gluten-free pasta, and they said yes, bread too! Great meal for both of us. They are very accommodating, made me a pasta dish that I created, great service, Italians eating here too. Located in between the Duomo and the Piazza del Campo. Perfect location, great food, lovely atmosphere.

Excellent food, good price, very good service. Excellent pasta dishes and all of our appetizers were great. Very clean bathrooms! Highly recommend for lunch!
