"Situated off the tourist trail in a charming residential district, this restaurant is popular with locals from Livorno who come here to enjoy the fresh fish on offer – the vast selection on the buffet makes dining here a real treat. In summer, choose a table on the delightful outdoor veranda." - Michelin Inspector

Great food, the waiter has to smile a bit and some challenges with his English. We enjoyed the overall experience. Empresses by the Black Rice and the Tiramisu. The other fisher were good but not wow.

If I could give Oscar a zero, I would do it without any doubt. My partner and I went to eat there because we were invited by a family member. The atmosphere was pretty cold, the staff never smiled to us. We asked for two rissotto neri, one risotto ai frutti di mare and one pasta alle vongole. They brought us just tree plates but not the pasta. We kept asking for the plate that was missing and after 30 minutes they brought it, without giving any apology , besides the maître said with nonchallance that there was a mistake, they gave our pasta alle vongole to someone else before. We could not believe our eyes. I do not understand how this restaurant has so many Michellin stars because the service was bad, the food mediocre and the prices were pretty high. I wouldn´t recommend even my worst enemy to eat at Oscar.

Good food and service but the price is too high for the portions they give you

Urchin pasta, taste only pepper or something. It was Just “spicy”. No taste of urchin… I think they mistakenly put pepper instead of salt???the other pastas were good.

Best one in town. Such position blow prices uncomfortably. Seafood and fish crudités are superb, whereas not all the menu presents the same quality. Oysters are strongly recommended. Above average, and the best in the city of Livorno, the quality does not justify the price - something that a Micheline-starred restaurant can ask. Plate design is average and quantities are ok. Amuse-bouche does not express personality and is too big. Lobsters are premium-quality and kept alive in the tank. Service is professional but doesn't give any extra touches. Bill was 130€+wine for two people with two starters, two second courses and two deserts. Wine on its own 38€, with a price within the expectations. 3 stars, the experience overall positive, but you won't look for a good value. Castiglioncello might offer better options.

Yelp
The best restaurant in Livorno, IMHO. Located in the Ardenza area, just a mile from the city center, the restaurant is on a quiet and residential street. It has a small but nice outdoor patio and a couple of indoor rooms. Food is really good: I had a tuna tagliata and can't wait t go back to have it again! And the wine list is very wide, offering a selection of the best Tuscan canteens as well as several wines from other parts of Italy. Also, the bread basket includes a mix of different breads, all delicious. Five stars well deserved.
