20 of Montreal’s Best Steakhouses for Surf and Turf

"While Portovino’s multiple locations in the Greater Montreal were whittled down to just one, its “turf” menu serves a few steaks that are worth a visit, if not their osso buco alla Milanese." - JP Karwacki, Tim Forster

BYOB restaurant, food was absolutely delicious, staff very friendly, food arrived quickly, and included free soup/salad & a dessert. We stayed a bit longer at the restaurant and we felt no pressure in hurrying up or leaving, we had a great time. I definitely recommend this restaurant and will be going back!!

It’s been a long time since I’ve come to Sunday brunch and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a served tea buffet with 4 main stations and two center tables : one for desserts and cold cuts and another for breads and cheeses. The dessert bar is staffed with crepes/waffles made for you and the rest of the desserts self service. The quality of the food has improved since last time with a good prime rib, normal breakfast items, oysters, smoked salmon and other hot dishes. The waitress we had gave great service (young blond - didn’t get her name…sorry) and was very attentive. I would come back for the Sunday brunch again.

went for lunch, everything was excellent. I regretted not taking photos before i dug in but it was just so appetizing. Beef Tartar was so yummy, lobster ravioli, divine... I had the linguine Pescatore, very very delicious. Service was good, prices as expected. We'll be back.

The service was nice. The place is huge with a lot of tables but maybe because of that, they put all the customers in the front window and the surroundings that felt noisy in a crowded way. It was hard to keep a conversation. I was hearing everyone else's conversations. I was not able to enjoy a conversation but, good point to highlight: its a BYOW . The amount of food was huge and it tasted descent.

The service was great, our server was amazing. The problem is the food. A lot of the dishes were VERY salty, I only took a couple of bites from my risotto because of how salty it was. The steak from the “table d’hôte” menu and the salmon were grilled but burnt at the top, because of that many bites just tasted like charcoal. And again, the white sauce that came with the steak was also very salty. Overall, we had a great time but the food is not worth the price. I recommend the spaghetti mascarpone and the tartare.

The fish with spinach was absolutely delicious! The dessert — carrot cake — is more of an acquired taste; for me, it was a bit too sweet. The waiter was charming and courteous. But asking who’s paying when a woman comes with a man — that must be only in Quebec! :)) I’d be happy to come back again!

Amazing experience and great food! This is my 3rd time I Pass by and I love it every single time! The service was great ... the food was awesome and it was a great fun atmosphere... mind you lots of noise ... so if you're looking for a one on one Calm place, this won't be the place for you! I highly recommend it and you will enjoy every plate... we were a group of 12 and every one of us loved there food and we have 2 chefs with us! Enjoy!

First all you can eat brunch of my life and I wasn’t deceived by the diversity and quality of the food we had access to. We went there to celebrate a friend’s birth day and we had a table at the mezzanine since we were 10 with a baby. I couldn’t try everything even if I wanted to but I’ll definitely come back since they change their menu to have more diversity. It might be expensive for some people but consider the fact that you go back to eat more and more. Taxes and tips included, I paid 72.72$ I loved the seafood salad and trust me, if you don’t cook or buy a certain type of meal, enjoy while you’re there! Cooks were very nice they can serve anything you want for your waffle, crepe or omelette I only wish they rinsed their fruits because I do with mine I saw the strawberries were not cleaned
