Profumo di Mirto – Rome - a MICHELIN Guide Restaurant

"This is a classic, simple neighbourhood restaurant where guests will immediately feel at home. Fish specialities take pride of place here, but it’s also worth taking your time over the copious buffet of appetisers which gets your meal off to a fine start. A few Sardinian dishes pay tribute to the owners’ native island." - Michelin Inspector

The service here was amazing. The waiters were super attentive and always happy to help. The minute we walked in we felt welcomed and that didn’t change throughout the whole experience. We weren’t sure was to get as an appetizer so we asked for help and he asked what we like, which is everything, so he recommended the mixed starters with some raw fish and crustaceans. They immediately started bringing a bunch of little plates. My favorites were the fried calamari and the salmon. We also asked to start with some Prosecco and they immediately bright a half bottle which was delicious. We also asked for some white wine and he recommended a bottle that was crisp and went great with our mains. We got the sea bass with salt, which they open up and clean right on the table, and grilled squid with prawns and crawfish with some fried potatoes. Lastly we got a small strawberry tart which was quite jammy and sweet. They also brought three bottle of aperitifs that they left on the table with two cold glasses, which I thought was just such a nice touch. All of the for about $100. I would definitely recommend and will certainly be coming back.

Good food and taste but the ingredients should be much more exiting than the menu descriptions. I ordered something with lobster but did get the spaghetti with some crayfish and crabs. But it did only came with maximum an spoon portion of the sea meat. Anyway good taste 👍🏼

This cosy restaurant has been on the Michellin guide for Bib Gormund since 2012. When we reached there, it was quite empty for a Tuesday night except for another table besides us. However the owner was very friendly and helpful despite his English was challenged. The seafood was on display in chilled ice on the freezer and we had the octopus salad, sautéed mussels and clams. We also had spaghetti vongole, sea bream and sea bass for our mains. We had a southern Italian white that cost €16 that was pretty good. Overall good value for money and worth a return visit.

What can I say? The best meal I had in Italy! The pictures are the pasta with seafood and mixed grilled fish. I also had half bottle (37.5cl) of sparkling wine (Sardinian) and one bottle of sparkling water and it costs 44 euro in total. The pasta is just perfect, especially the sauce. The mixed fish dish is also great. For 20 euro, you get a really generous selection of seafood (see photo). The shrimps are the real star of the dish IMHO. Overall great food and great service!

Food tasted good but the service was horrendous. I didn’t catch our waiter’s name, but he looked of Latin descent and spoke to our family in Spanish as we are Central American. We were a party of 6 and came here because a few of us like seafood and wanted to eat Italian seafood dishes during our vacation. My mom ordered first and did not order a seafood dish, and the waiter said “you come all the way to Italy and don’t even order fish.” Ok. The next person ordered a gnocchi with crab dish but he misheard and thought she ordered it with sausage and he blatantly rolled his eyes. The next person ordered a pasta and tomato dish and he rolled his eyes again, turned his head and muttered “puta” under his breath. Which is a very bad word in Spanish. I’m not sure why he had such an attitude when we were being nice. We asked if there was a problem and he said that it would take a long time to put 6 dishes into the kitchen. Not sure why he said that because all our food came out 20 minutes later. Would not go here again and don’t recommend it unless you want to get mistreated by their waiters.

We found this place purely by accident as we left our hotel and walked around. I'm gluten-free so we had to look at the menus rather carefully to see if there were options. By the time we got there, the place was busy but not super-crowded -- we were seated right away. The waiter didn't know any English and while I knew some Italian, we were able to make ourselves understood and even exhibit some humor about it all! The waiter patiently pointed out which menu items I could eat. My dad ordered a mixed grill of fish and I ordered the Risotto with Scampi Sauce. Best Dinner in a LONG time!! We got dessert which wasn't the greatest, and then we got to sample some Limoncello, Grappa, and some liquor that was local to Sardinia. Strong stuff for me, but my dad enjoyed it. This place had it all! Amazing food, friendly service, and a local's atmosphere! I can't recommend it enough!

Yelp
Dinner with a group of friends in Rome. Good restaurant for a taste of Italian seafood. We all enjoyed our selections. I had the ravioli seafoods with artichoke and others had seafood with spaghetti and mushrooms. It was very fresh and tasty. I did not taste any artichoke in the ravioli but it was good. The ambiance is nice. We sat outside under a tent. The service was excellent. No English but luckily our tour guide help navigate our individual selections and bill. ...speaking Italian is helpful especially if you are a large party and splitting the check. We picked up dessert from inside. The tiramisu was delicious . The sorbet was also really good. We shared dessert and each tasted. Excellent service and i recommend if you visit Rome.

Yelp
Food was delicious. We had plans to go to one place but they were closed so we stumbled into this restaurant. Thank goodness! The menu isnt in english but we figured it out. I had spaghetti and carbonara, the wife had spaghetti and clams. Very salty so be warned!! But we like our food heavily salted so it was heaven to us. The staff also didnt speak english but they understood us and they were very very polite! Best part was the food was very reasonably priced. Worth the try!

Yelp
I am so glad we found this restaurant! It was the perfect dinner to end our Rome vacation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. To start, they brought us bread and about 6 plates of various appetizers. At first we felt overwhelmed, but they were the right amount and we actually ate everything. Every single dish we tasted was delicious! We also found prices to be very reasonable. When we come back to Rome we will visit them again.

Yelp
Tasty! The location of this restaurant is a bit off for tourists like us, but we were determined to be adventurous, and it was such a good decision. Clean and friendly restaurant, fresh seafood, I wish I could give it 4.5 stars instead of 4, and I am only taking points off because a few of the items on the menu are no longer available.
