Me and my family visited Roma Ristorante last night for the first time to celebrate my mom’s 69th birthday, and let me tell you—we were blown away.
From the moment we sat down, the service was excellent. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and never once made us feel uncomfortable for not speaking Italian. In fact, she made the entire experience feel warm and welcoming.
We were so impressed with the menu that we decided to order a little bit of everything. For appetizers, we had the calamari, meatballs, pizza bread (I have to look up the exact name!), and the Brussels sprouts. Every appetizer was excellent—flavorful without being too heavy. I also loved how the bread was sliced into small pieces so you can enjoy it without filling up before the main course. Perfect for people like us who "saved up" all day for this meal!
For our entrées, I ordered the pollo chicken and it was outstanding. I especially appreciated that they didn’t overload the plate with mashed potatoes—just the right amount, maybe a quarter to a half cup—and the roasted vegetables were cooked to perfection. My mom ordered the veal and loved it so much she saved the rest for lunch today. My dad had a gnocchi dish, my friend ordered a shrimp linguine, and my son got the spaghetti.
The only downside: there is no kids menu, and the portion size for the kids’ spaghetti was pretty small. My son is 6 and he was still hungry afterward. But the staff made up for it—they gave my mom a complimentary birthday dessert, and Chef Sophia herself came out to talk with us for a good 5–10 minutes. She shared her training background in Italy, which you can absolutely taste in the food. She even gave my son some ice cream, which made his night.
Overall, I would absolutely go again. My parents raved about the food all night. The ambiance was beautiful, they seated us at a great table, and every single thing—from décor to service to flavor—was spot on.
Roma Ristorante gets a full 5 out of 5 from me. Highly recommended.
