San Giorgio

"Situated in the city albeit not right in the centre, San Giorgio is a typical Genovese restaurant – elegant and classic in style, with excellent cuisine served by the Scala family who have been in charge for decades. Young chef Samuele Di Mauro is at the helm, having started here as an apprentice and worked his way to the position of sous-chef and then head chef in 2022. Despite a focus on modern presentation and techniques, as demonstrated in dishes such as the raw bluefin tuna seasoned with an intense verbena mousse and served with caper cream and a “caviar” of dried and fried tuna, his cuisine is Mediterranean in style, with its roots in Ligurian aromas and flavours. The wine list is as impressive as the cuisine, with an entire section dedicated to French and Italian sparkling wines." - Michelin Inspector

We had a fantastic experience at Ristorante San Giorgio, thanks to the extremely welcoming and helpful staff. It was our first time dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, and we never felt awkward — the team made us feel completely at ease. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with flavors that worked together perfectly (my favorite was the Genovese Pesto Pearls). For someone with a sweet tooth like me, the dessert was spectacular — refined and memorable. We highly recommend visiting if you’re in Genova!

A delightful dinning experience from Menu to Service. The 5 course menu boasts some great dishes like the one of a kind Pesto Pearls and the Rabbit Buttons. The dining space is really nice and our server was excellent.

San Giorgio was a fantastic experience, with great atmosphere, efficient service, and memorable courses. We went with the tasting menu and was surprised with the variety and quality of each course, covering regional specialities from mountain to sea. If you like wine, their selection is quite extensive. San Giorgio is a must revisit. Well worth the price, and well deserving of a Michelin star.

Amazing experience! We had the Menu "Under 40", it was a great entry into fine dining for my sister, with absolutely amazing service, food and ambiance. We we're told we would get 4 courses, it ended up being closer to 7 (with courses like "pre-dessert" - that just shows how fancy everything was), we could barely finish the food but hated to leave it because it was so delicious. We paid 80 EUR each (water, wine and coffee included). Pay mind: You can also order à la carte as well, which I can only imagine would be an equally great experience. Absolutely smashing, am still raving about it! 10/10, would recommend

When I found myself to be in Genoa for work, this restaurant was right down the road from my hotel. I had the most amazing courses I think I’ve ever had. The sample appetizers were amazing. The seared scallops. Amazing. The filet with truffle. It was better than sex. That should say it all. The service was excellent. Pricey. Yes. But I’ve ate at more expensive restaurants and was completely disappointed. Not here. I don’t know if I will ever make it back to Genoa but if I do. I will return here.

San Giorgio offered an amazing culinary experience in Genova. Our host, Olga, was very attentive and made our dinner memorable, complete with small sampling treats even though we chose to order a la carte. Chef Di Murro's passion for bread is remarkable and all savoured dishes were outstanding.

Excellent table in Genoa. Got a star in the Michelin 2023, well deserved for the hard work. Imo the style of the place is soso and the lighting poor which is a shame.

As a young couple we had the pleasure to try out this restaurant for dinner. Summary: * Friendly staff, except the one who has no manners - inappropriate comments and facial expressions. Wine recommendation - failed, knowledge of beer and other beverages - none. * Main course didn’t impress - steak with crisp, soaked in oil and truffle without a taste or smell * Other staff running around, carrying wine glasses without gloves - fingerprints as a result * Really enjoyed storytelling and welcoming gesture of the dark haired waiter, which lifted our evening a bit There are definitely quality competitive restaurants in Genoa.
