There’s a lot to say about this place, so I’ll try to be brief. First the bad news: No English menu. No Italian menu either. Even the Italian wine list is in Japanese. Luckily, I speak a tiny bit of Italian and Japanese, so we navigated the food and wine menus with the help of the server.
About the server. I didn’t catch her name, but she is patient and charming, and I think she’s the boss/owner. If you don’t speak Japanese, ask for her.
The food was superb. A kaiseke style Italian dinner with about 9 dishes. All small, all fantastic. 13,000 yen, not bad for this quality. Beef cheeks, 2 pasta dishes, a beautiful hamachi, and desert was a gelato latte that I paired with a honey grappa. I recommend you do the same.
I can’t wait for the “bib gourmand” to get its first Michelin Star.
