Showcased on tasting menus and an à la carte, the chef’s cuisine demonstrates a maturity that pays close attention to colour and flavour, with beautifully presented dishes prepared from top-quality ingredients. A Michelin Star Experience… in Heat Endurance Visited: 29 June 2025 Tancredi, perched above the stunning Lake Garda, had me at hello. The view? Absolutely breathtaking. A postcard-perfect setting that promised a memorable lunch. But here came the plot twist. Despite a blazing Italian heatwave, we were made—yes, made—to sit outside. We politely asked not once, not twice, but three times to be seated indoors where it was air-conditioned and empty. Each request was met with a firm “no.” Meanwhile, the servers enjoyed the cool indoors while we slowly melted like gelato. The food? Honestly, we couldn’t enjoy a single bite. It’s hard to appreciate fine dining when you’re drenched in sweat and praying for a breeze that never came. A beautiful location can’t make up for a complete disregard for guest comfort. When the weather is extreme, they seemed to align their hospitality to it as well. Sadly, Tancredi missed the mark by a mile.

Mind blowing. I honestly didn’t expect the amazing experience. I thought it was going to be just another episode at a Michelin star restaurant, but I was wrong. I feel bad for not dressing up enough for Tancredi. From the last minute reservation, to the welcome, the atmosphere and ambiance, is from the heart, I believe. And when you visit the bathroom, everything is well thought out with the comfort of the guest in mind. Fortunately my husband was equally impressed and I hope we can visit again next time we’re in Gardasee. Gracia mille!

Food and location was fantastic, but the service made our night! Arnoldo was a fantastic host and really made our evening. He even gave us a lift to our hotel because there were no taxis running - lovely man! Would recommend

Definitely worth a visit if in the area. Beautiful atmosphere with seats facing out towards the Great Lake. We went for the “Mind” tasting menu with wine pairings, which was slightly on the pricey side, but boy was it worth it! The service was impeccable, nothing was too much for the staff and they were very knowledgeable about the incredible variety of cuisines they were serving. Every dish was an absolute delight, and I left wanting more! The wines were described in great detail, but not in horrible language which wasn’t understandable to a complete amateur (myself!). The favourite dish was a special of the new head chef, who had moved over from a previously Michelin starred restaurant. If you get the chance, even for a la carte, pay this place a visit!

The service at this restaurant was not Michelin quality at all. Not only was the staff inattentive , they were unfriendly. The entire dinner we thought we were forgotten about. There’s a difference between what we experienced and the Italian culture of a slow meal. There were 14 tables and only 4 waitstaff who were clearly running around and rushing. Every time they came to our table they were quick and nearly running to us and away from us. Some notable examples: - they gave us the food menus and came back a few minutes later and asked if we were ready to order. They did not ask if we had any questions or offer to explain the menu - we were sharing a la carte dishes and they brought 5 dishes out at once - there was no pacing at all - we finished our meal with over a half a bottle of wine left - we ordered wine and they placed the wine in an ice bucket far from the table - they refilled our glasses once and then never came back. We eventually brought the bucket over to our table to fill it ourselves. They never commented or apologized for not doing it themselves - I saw another review about someone having no options for non-alcoholic drink options and that has not been fixed The food was excellent. But based on the service, I would not go back.

Outstanding. I chose to celebrate my birthday at Ristorante Tancredi and requested vegan options beforehand. The restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary preferences, offering to make the entire tasting menu vegan. The entire meal was thoughtful, creative while at the same time not losing hold of the traditional regional cuisine. The venue itself is as dreamy as they come, the al fresco dining gets you as close to the lakeshore as possible without getting wet feet. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience!

Service absolutely not to the standard of a Michelin star. While the wine and the food we had was very nice and the location and view unparalleled, the abysmal service and general negative experience we had completely outweighed the positives. When we arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty and we were greeted very quickly and the initial service was very short and seemed bothered. During the meal, no one checked in on us or asked how dishes were or if we needed anything. Our plates sat on the table finished for over 15mins and we had to move our chilled wine stand over to our table and fill our glasses ourselves because we only had our wine glasses filled once by staff the whole meal. While we very much enjoyed the food we ordered, the beautiful views, and the wine, we would not return or recommend to others as there are many other highly rated and Michelin star restaurants in the area.

We visited the restaurant for my partner’s 30th, we were disappointed by the food compared to our Michelin star restaurants we’ve been too. We went for the wine pairing and whilst the name and region and year of the wine was explained there was no explanation of why it was paired with each course. We initially had to ask for courses to be slowed as they were flying out and then they became incredibly slow. We sent 4 emails after our experience and the restaurant did not reply at all. Given a €500 euro bill for 2, we were less than impressed On the plus side the bread course was excellent
