Yelp
A neighborhood classic, an eclectic journey into the various gastronomic traditions from all over the country. You'd be tempted to lump it with the other trattorias serving typical Roman fare, instead you're presented with a bold menu which selects ingredients and wine pairing from disparate regions. The daily specials are even more appetizing, being as diverse as fried anchovies or golden-crisp Taleggio cheese on a bed of artichokes. I don't usually praise (or eat) the bread, but the "cacio e pepe" type was simply outstanding. Yes, I asked for seconds, with extra emphasis on the cacio e pepe.
Every dish is well crafted, from the simple sides to the more sophisticated entrees, like the turbot rolls stuffed with artichoke. Now, that's really a new one.
I love the location, the ambiance, the experience, a bit less the pricing, which is somewhat steep. You can easily spend over €50 if you get carried away, but I think it's money well spent. The service is relaxed but attentive, they accept reservations and all major credit cards.
Not the only famous go-to place in Garbatella but likely the most refined.
