Step Aside, White Claw: In PA We Drink Four Loko Slushies | Eater Philly

"When I stopped into Rite Buy Beer in Delaware County I saw frozen-drink machines set on the counter producing a neon assortment of slush next to hangover cures, questionable CBD products, and virility pills. The machines aren’t self-serve: staff dispense the drinks into plastic cups that show size and price, seal them with a custom airtight lid, and hand them over with a straw, and handwritten signs around the machines remind customers that alcohol cannot be consumed on the premises. The slushies are just frozen malt beverages — examples include Bud Light Passion‑Fruit‑Rita, Smirnoff Peach Mango Smash, sour-apple Four Loko, and Seagram’s Jamaican Me Happy — and their alcohol content matches the original cans, roughly 3.2% up to 14% ABV." - Caroline Coral

I am not one to typically leave negative reviews, but this has me enraged! Now looking back at reviews from 5 years ago, this business is not trustworthy. They are doing the same thing with no care for their customers. Please advise to look at the dates! I thought that I overly endulged in the food over the weekend after getting an upset stomach. I drank 2 Mango Haberno (Crown of Mountains IPA) beers. I looked at the date in the morning and they were from May of 2024. My partner had a sour ale with Mandarin and tea (Beachin' Bros) and instantly got extremely sick both times. I decided to look at the date before pouring the last two away. They were from 7/12/21. Talk about toxic fruit! On a positive note, the rest of beers in the picture were good. Purchase at your own risk. Do not buy from the 50% off area. It was hard to read one of the 4 packs, but believe the date was either 2022 or 2023. Thank you for your time. Cheers! Sincerely, Joe

Be careful buying crafts beers from this place. Learned the hard way, and noticed most of the beer we bought were way past the expiration dates. One beer was from 07/21/2021. My sister-in-law got sick from a few sips. We did not look at the date until afterwards. Tired hands egg nog milkshake beers are still in their coolers as of 08/31/2025? Come on guys, seriously? I have been a loyal customer over the years, but not anymore.

Get down here now to get a Swedish fish slushee mixed with four loko. Now that’s a combination you can’t beat and it’s $4 to have you set for the whole night. Friendly manager is always fun to talk with. This is the RITE place in Delco for the “alc.”

Don't go to the spirit distributor the guy at the counter tries to rip you off. I went to buy bush light peach 24oz cans that said 2.50 and he tried to charge me 3.75 for them, when I questioned the price, he told me that it was put in the wrong place. Another time I bought a case of Coors Light 23 pack of 16 oz cans.. the Sign said 2.499 he charged me 36.00$ for the case. Said there was tax. That's a lot of tax. DONT GO Here.

I live about 45min from this liquor store, but was looking for something very specific & it seemed like they had in stock. Gave a call just to be sure before I took the long drive, and not only did they confirm they had it, they specifically put 2 cases aside no questions asked! When I got there & gave my name I received an extremely friendly greeting & he made it a point to make sure to order more of the item I drove there for so I can come back and get them in the future. Such a great experience, especially after quite a drive to and from!
