Ritter Sport Keeps Square Chocolate Trademark in Legal Fight With Milka | Eater

"A German chocolate maker credited with popularizing the square-bar format—reportedly chosen so bars would fit into jacket pockets—registered that distinctive square shape with the German patent office and has successfully defended it in court. After a legal battle with a rival (Milka) over producing square bars, judges upheld the trademark on the grounds that consumers view the square form as an indicator of origin and quality and found no artistic necessity for the competitor to copy the shape, effectively barring other top-brand makers from marketing square chocolate." - Jaya Saxena

Google
What a lovely place which is right next to our hotel !!! Also I let my daughter to try the chocolate making experience that is 100% worth the price and that’s nearly one hour long. She loves it and the staffs there are very professional and cheerful, welcoming families and kids so nicely. What a great place to start visiting Berlin ❤️

Google
Welcome to chocolate paradise 🍫😍 Two stories full of large selection of chocolate. All super colorful and very well organized. They have something for everyone: dark, milk, vegan, lactose free, you name it. They have some specific flavors you can only find here including manufacturer edition chocolates. If you still couldn’t find what you are looking for you can make your own customized chocolate by choosing the size, type of chocolate and toppings. Also there is a cute demonstration of how chocolate is made which comes to an end with a sweet reward.

Google
If you like chocolates, this place is a must visit. The variety of chocolates here is out of this world. If you book early, you can even attend a class where you can customise and make your own type of ritter chocolates. This place also seems to be very popular with families with children as well.

Google
My 9-year-old daughter and I had a wonderful time with the lovely Marie at the chocolate workshop! It was fun, tasty, and packed with interesting insights about chocolate-making and the Ritter factory. Marie’s smile and sweet approach made the experience even better. Highly recommended!

Anna

Google
I was there for a masterclass/workshop on making my own chocolate bar. The woman who led the workshop left me speechless in a good way. I felt like a child again, she was so optimistic and kind, I felt bewitched by her energy. It’s so worth it to try this experience, not only to eat lots of sweets, but to learn more about history of the brand and many small interesting facts. I would visit again, particularly because I didn’t manage to buy their unique drinks yet

Google
Delicious, reasonably priced, good selection of all available chocolates with different options to be able to take home. Several vegan options was amazing too. Free sample of the melted chocolate! No massively long line to wait either. If you love chocolate, worth a visit. You can make your own chocolate, however at the moment only dairy chocolate, and there was a wait of about 20 minutes, with a comfy area to wait

Google
We just visited the Ritter Sport shop, and it was an absolute treat! The variety of chocolates is incredible—so many options that we were completely spoilt for choice. The shop itself is vibrant and colorful, creating a cheerful atmosphere that’s perfect for chocolate lovers. What makes this place even better is the attached café, where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a delicious cup of hot chocolate. They also serve a variety of cakes that pair wonderfully with the drinks. During our visit, we noticed a group of teenagers, likely on a study tour, adding to the lively vibe of the place. Overall, this is more than just a chocolate shop—it’s an experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves chocolate or is just looking for a cozy spot to unwind!

Google
What chocolate dreams are made of. Who knew there was so much to do in a chocolate shop? You can make gifts based on photos, you can design your own chocolate bar. You can get ice cream or coffee. You can use the restroom. You can shop for gifts like sweaters, bags, and bears.

Yelp
This "museum" is NOT large. The main level store is the attraction UNLESS you do a tour! I highly recommend the chocolate bar making tour no matter which language you speak. In our chocolate bar making class, we made two identical Ritter bars of a unique-to-you flavor. There are about 24 mix-ins and they allow you to choose 3 so the flavors are preserved. Then you chose your chocolate. While the bars are setting, you have an educational session on Ritter and on chocolate. Our tour was mainly Germans so they only spoke English during this portion. However, during the TV visual portion there were English subtitles. As mentioned, there is a lot of Ritter to chose from in their store - small bars, big bars, all flavors including limited edition flavors, gifts boxes, a meter of chocolate. And there is a small cafe with drink and sweets. We didn't utilize the cafe nor did we purchase extra chocolates. We really enjoyed our time! And if a staff member asks you your favorite football team (they mean American) and say the Seahawks!
google avatar

Conner S.

Yelp
Really fun spot to check out if you are a chocolate lover! It isn't much of a 'museum' but they have some small displays that are fun which explain their chocolate production. I believe they also offer a chocolate making class which we didn't check out. The main attraction is their chocolate shop where they sell every kind of Ritter Chocolate imaginable - and in every size too! This is a great spot to come for gifts as you can stock up on unique flavors or buy large variety packs. They do have a small cafe with some chocolate items and some ice cream as well. Worth a visit when in Berlin!
google avatar

Grace C.

Yelp
I really prefer Ritter sport chocolate vs Lindt. Very creamy and not as sweet. We bought the variety packs to try different flavors. We thought it's a pretty good deal! About 1euro a piece with the pack.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
A very small chocolate "factory," shop and cafe. The top floor has some explanations of the chocolate production and a place to get custom made chocolate. The ground level has tons of chocolate to buy and a cafe closer to the entrance with drinks, ice cream and a handful of dessert options. I tried the Ritter chocolate cheesecake, and bought a few chocolate bars that I've never seen in the states. Great spot for gifts!
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
It's like Wilhelm Wonka's Schokolade Factory, though not as large or film-like spectacular. Still, if you like chocolate, it's a fun stop. Such a variety of chocolate to see and purchase. I took advantage of a sale on an "approaching-expiration-date" assortment bag of 2,000 grams. That's 4.4 pounds of chocolate, people!
google avatar

Nancy G.

Yelp
Four stars because we didn't get to try the café. If you love Ritter Sport candy, then this shop is the place for you! Name the variety of chocolate bar you want, and they probably have some variation of it here. There are regular sized bars, mini bars, advent calendars, a meter stick of mini bars, multiple mixed assortment cases of candy, clothing, bags and lots of other Ritter Sport branded items. *Note* They don't give you a shopping bag for your purchases, so either bring one, or shell out 1 Euro for a Ritter Sport themed reusable tote bag. As an American, I found LOTS of flavors that I can't find back home, including vegan options! I snapped up a bunch of candies for myself as well as gifts for friends and family. And, I bought that tote bag as a souvenir. :) 26/2022

Yelp
Missed the workshop we signed up for but we were still happy to be able to make our own candy bars. There's a museum that gives some history about the company upstairs. It's small but still informative. The store downstairs has all the sweets you could imagine as well trial bars. Great way to get some souvenirs or gifts as some items can not be found in regular stores.
google avatar

Avi L.

Yelp
It doesn't matter if it's your first time Berlin or your 50th time to Berlin... If you are a Ritter sport fan, this is the place to go to have all of your different options in one place! If you come starting in late October, you can even find an Advent Calendar which can go home with you.
google avatar

Logan D.

Yelp
Cons: -Definitely NOT a museum as advertised in a few guides--there's a few infographics on the second floor but that's it. Don't go here if that's what you're looking for. Pros: -Cool shopping experience given the number of flavors and sizes they offer here. -Cafe has cakes shaped like the bars, which is a quirky touch.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite chocolates! The flagship store is a chocolate paradise! There's a chocolate making room at the front where you can customize your own chocolate bar. The employees that make the candy bars are all so sweet and super friendly. The candy store is on the main floor with a plethora of chocolate bar varieties. I was supposed to leave with a few, but I left with a whole basket. You don't find some of these flavors in America. Upstairs they have a mini museum about Ritter and a restaurant. Very informative museum and fun displays. I wish that Ritter had a flagship store here in America! PROS: Friendly service and a mass collection of Ritter flavors CONS: There is a wait for the candy bars to be made if you are customizing them. However this is understandable since there are a lot of people making orders for them. TIPS: Order your customize bar first (if you are planning to), then check out the museum and restaurant. Afterwards, you can pick up some fun candy bars on the main floor. By that time your customized candy bar should be ready for pickup.
google avatar

Heather Z.

Yelp
This was my favorite place we went in Berlin. They have every flavor of chocolate bar you can think of. You can even make your own custom bar. They also have a cafe upstairs with different food, desserts, and ice creams made with their chocolate. It was heavenly. I was also surprised how inexpensive it was. The chocolate bars were about half the price they are in stores. The hardest part was deciding what to get. I wanted to buy the whole store.
google avatar

Melody Y.

Yelp
This store has every Ritter Sport flavor imaginable!! I wanted to buy the whole store but unfortunately it wouldn't have fit in my tiny suitcase.... One thing you MUST do if you come here is make your own chocolate bar! Do it right as you arrive at the store because it takes about 30-40 minutes for the chocolate bar to be ready. I chose to only make a 100g one because I didn't think it would be that special and I was a little overwhelmed when picking 3 flavors to add to my bar - there's too many choices! But after I left the store and tried my chocolate, I instantly regretted not making a bigger one/making more bars. I chose the mini marshmallows, chocolate crisps, and cocoa nibs with milk chocolate and to my surprise, it was SO GOOD. It's definitely a little pricier than buying the regular bars but it's definitely worth it!
google avatar

George H.

Yelp
Delicious chocolate mix in the dessert shop upstairs. I had the cocoa fondue and chocolate cakes. The chocolate downstairs is priced very well as well!
google avatar

Lindsey R.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite chocolates and to go in the store was so neat. Every flavor you can imagine is available and you can even create and make your own personalized bar. They have grab bags of miscellaneous chocolates for a discounted rate - such a great bargain. They even have the "king size" giant bars and other Ritter items.
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
A great marketing place for Ritter Sport. The best part about this store is that you can buy almost all types of bars here that they manufacture and they have a counter where you can make your own bar and pick it up 30 mins later. It's the most popular part of the store and there was a lineup the whole time I was there. There is a chocolate museum upstairs and yeah, it's ok, your life won't be incomplete if you never went up there. It's a good tourist attraction in town. It seems to be popular with Asian tourists for some reason. Or maybe, I happened to be there when it was full of Asian tourists. I have been there once and don't feel the need to go there again :-)

Yelp
For those of you that don't know, Ritter Sport is much better than Hershey's, but this is like the Hershey's of Germany. Nevertheless, the German have a higher standard when it comes to chocolate and it shows. Usually around $3-4 in US drugstores, they were selling Ritter Sport here at the museum for about US $1 a bar. I stocked up on my favorites, which include coconut, dark chocolate with whole hazelnuts, and this new found flavor called Olympia. My German friend told me that this flavor was seasonal for the last Olympic games, but after a huge protest and uproar about its discontinuation, they brought it back. And it's amazing. Milk chocolate with yogurt, honey (and you can really taste the strong flavor of honey) , crushed hazelnuts, and dextrose (?). O geez it's amazing. What's also amazing is the custom, handmade Ritter Sport bars you can make for 3.90 Euro each (see pictures for process). You pick three toppings which range from flavors such as dried raspberries and caramelized roasted almonds to anise seed and dehydrated lemon.
google avatar

Hemesh P.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of Ritter sport so this really was an awesome experience They have two levels of Ritter sport bars with hundreds of flavors. There's a little museum upstairs too and there's even an area where you can make your own chocolate bar! The bars here are really affordable compared to what I pay at home Check it out if you like Ritter sport. You'll love it!
google avatar

Irene H.

Yelp
Perfect spot to pick up souvenirs. They have a ton of flavors that are not available in the US. You can pick your own gift box, size, etc. You can also make your own bar but note that the line for this can be crazy and also requires 30-40 min to wait for your chocolate to set. It is crowded, but... what can you do. There is also a cafe and kid's activities on the second floor. If you're pressed for time and don't care about flavors, you can easily grab chocolates at the airport duty free shops.
google avatar

Andrea T.

Yelp
Limited selection of food, but all options looked delicious. Staff was very helpful and all seemed fluent in English. Menu had both German and the English translation. My sandwich was very good and I had some cheesecake.
google avatar

Yelp
If you've been to M&M Museum, this is better. They have a store, museum and cafe. They have flavors you won't find anywhere else. Although Ritter isn't necessarily my favorite brand, I ended up getting a lot of chocolates from here - damn you, cute and colorful packaging! *shakes fist* You can buy souvenir boxes and fill them up with whatever chocolates you want. Or buy pre-packaged ones to bring home for friends/family. You can create your own chocolate masterpiece. Pay for however many bars you want to create. Choose from white, milk or dark chocolate. Select 3 ingredients to put on your chocolate bar: nuts, cereals, fruits, etc. Allow 45 minutes for the product to be finished - I've already watched the process of chocolate making from people in front of me so, I went to the museum and store part. The museum will tell you that white chocolate isn't really chocolate! The cafe serves drinks and desserts. They have a chocolate mousse cake that looked soooo good. I told myself I'd get it before picking up my chocolate creation but I forgot.
google avatar

Ahu S.

Yelp
Chocolate heaven... Not only do they have every kind of Ritter sport bar imaginable, a chocolate museum but you can make your own Ritter Sport bar! If you want to make your own bar, do it first as the bars take 30-40 minutes to set up. Start at the top floor and visit the museum - it's really well done. The go nuts buying chocolate!
google avatar

Richa B.

Yelp
This place is really fun! They have all or most of the brand's chocolates, which in itself is interesting, kind of like a museum. Additionally they have limited edition flavor combinations that are only available in the store. My favorite part was creating my own chocolate bar. You pick your toppings/ingredients to go in the chocolate bar, and choose a milk, dark or white chocolate base. You can watch your chocolate be mixed and then poured into the mould. You need to wait about 30-40 minutes until you get your chocolate while it hardens. You could put in your custom chocolate order, then go and explore the rest of the store and cafe before you come back to pick up the chocolate (that's what I did). The cafe upstairs is nice, I had a cake that was cutely shaped like a Ritter Sport square. It was delicious.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
After we arrived, my man was acting like an excited kid in a candy store. Well, I guess he was a big kid in a candy store. The first floor is filled with different chocolates, large and small and medium-sized, as well as various souvenirs with the Ritter Sport logo stamped on it. There is also an area where you can customize your own chocolate bar. Be forewarned that you do not get to make the chocolate. You choose the various chocolates and fillings for an employee to assemble. The second floor is a cafe. We ordered a little cake that looked like a big version of a Ritter Sport candy bar. It was ok. I would skip it. The real star of the show was the marzipan hot chocolate. It was sooooo amazing.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Very cool store. You walk into the area where you can make your own chocolate (I think it should not be right by the door as I'd imagine it might get busy!), but pass through there to get to the regular store, or head up the escalator to the history of Ritter Sport including a couple videos. The cafe is definitely worth a visit. I'd even suggest having a full breakfast or lunch there! I wish I was hungry enough for any of the wonderful looking desserts! The hot chocolate is a must, so indulge a bit ;) The store is known for it's cheap bars of chocolate. Under one euro for 100 grams...and it's good chocolate! I hadn't had the pleasure to try this brand until I went here. With a couple dozen flavors, you might leave with more than you bargained for! My only complaint is that since it is a tourist spot, I would love to have a sign or sheet with translations as to what each bar was. It was a bit of a guessing game with the images on the package. You should definitely make your own chocolate bar. BUT do it before you go in the store, to the history part, or the cafe, as it takes 30 min to chill. My combo seemed to be a winner: mini marshmallows, strawberry pieces, and chocolate crispie rice. YUM!
google avatar

TianChee S.

Yelp
German chocolate!!! It was much cheaper to buy them here and plus they sell a lot of Germany exclusives flavors that you can't get outside Germany (at least in the USA). It was about $1 for a bar whereas it's typically $3-$4 for a bar. This is a must visit for the Ritter Sport chocolate lovers!
google avatar

Beata R.

Yelp
This place is the paradise for chocolate lovers. Two floors of joy, flavours, colours and the greatest feelings ever. On the ground floor you can buy hundreds of Ritter Sport chocolates - classic square 100g chocolates in all possible flavours (about 1 Euro), but also bigger 200g squares, pralines, 2 kg sets of chocolates (about 15 Euro), sets of several small chocolates, small chocolates or pralines by the kilo, beautiful boxes for your chocolates, if you want to buy them as a gift. Doesn't it sound like a paradise? You can also create your own chocolate. Just choose the colour of your chocolate and additions (many to choose) and after a while you will have it ready. It costs about 3-4 Euro per 1 chocolate. On the first floor you will find a kind of "exhibition" about the chocolate, cocoa beans, etc. and a confectionery, where you can have a coffee and a piece of cake. The cake is Ritter chocolate shaped and looks awesome. I don't know how it tastes, as I bought million chocolates downstairs and I didn't want to destroy my figure completely. I love the place and will definitely come back, when I have the chance.
google avatar

Alice T.

Yelp
If I were Willy Wonka, this would be my chocolate factory. Ritter can be hard to find in the US. Trader Joe's has a few varieties, but it's always the same ones. This store has all the flavors I dream about. Part of the experience is exploring all of the flavors you would never find in the US. What makes this store so appealing: - CHEAP prices! About $1 per standard size bar vs. $2+/bar in the US. - Giant tubes of 100 mini Ritters - Giant Ritter bars- double the size of the standard - Custom-made Ritters, they make it on the spot with the toppings and type of chocolate you like for about $5 per bar - Mixed grab bags- tons of candy for even less than $1/bar! - All of the flavors: standard ones and many I've never seen before- Olympia, creme brulee, Neapolitan wafer, coconut, rum raisin, praline - Cool store with lots of colors - Dessert restaurant and mini-museum on the third floor Minor obstacle: Obviously, everything is in German... so use those pictorial deduction skills! Or bring a dictionary. The only thing I want to see is more dark chocolate combos.

Yelp
Make your own Ritter Sport! DO IT! Ritter Sport is the best foreign chocolate (besides Milka) that you can find here in the states. When you're in Berlin, Germany, you need to stop at Ritter Sport. You can make your own chocolate bar downstairs. There's a cafe, museum area, and superstore complete with bags, mugs, and beach towels, as well as all of the gift bags and combinations of chocolates you can imagine. You might want to plan to walk around a bit before or after visiting here as gaining chocolate weight in Europe is all too easy, but you don't want to miss this place. It's pretty much heaven for a chocoholic.
google avatar

Natalye R.

Yelp
Chocolate... yum! I have been here a few times, and let me just say that it's tempting to leave without a lot of chocolate. The first visit we came to do custom-made chocolate bars. You choose a chocolate (milk or dark), plus as many as three toppings, and voila! They make it right in front of you, and then it hardens over the course of the next half hour. In the meantime, there is an upstairs interactive display with videos and such about how chocolate is made, what growers are used, etc. It gives consumers a good idea of how Ritter Sport structures its business practice. While I am not certain that it's officially fair-trade certified, it sounds pretty legit/transparent. And then, of course, the gift shop. Dun dun dunnnnnnn. The chocolate here is cheaper than at stores, and the variety is seemingly endless. We got samples of different kinds for ourselves, including kinds that aren't available in grocery stores, and got little varied assortment packs for the nephews and niece. Definitely a great place to get presents or souvenirs that aren't tacky or kitschy but that are still uniquely "Berlin" or "German." This is also a good place to take visiting friends or family.
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
A huge variety of ritter sports! Get the 2kg bag super cheap! They also have the make your own ritter sport counter which was a bit pricey and you have to wait 30 mins. I didnt get to try any hot chocolate or dessert or the sandwich/lunch/breakfast in the cafe so I cannot give a rating but I think it is a fun place to learn about chocolate and ritter sport in particular
google avatar

Lisa K.

Yelp
So fun. Prices are better in Waldenbuch, but here they allow you to customize your chocolate bar. In Waldenbuch, they only allow kids under 18 if you pay for the workshop.
google avatar

Gabriel E.

Yelp
Awesome place!! You can make your own chocolate with great quality ingredients. It is such a cute store with thousands of options to buy and eat. The cafe on the 2nd floor is also very nice, with lots of desserts, drinks and savory bites too! Lovely place to visit in Berlin! Amazing idea. Bravo
google avatar

Liberty C.

Yelp
I love this store! You may re-experiencing buying chocolate. I did not found chocolate with 70 or 80 % cocoa and therefore less sugar. This is why I rate with 4 stars than 5 stars. Mind the opening hours. They are different from Monday to Wednesday.
google avatar

Qype User (deCabb…)

Yelp
This is like the Ritter Sport version of CadburyLand. The first thing you encounter is an ice cream section with a few desserts serving a queue a mile long. Beyond this is the shop full to the brim with Ritter Sport bars in all shapes and sizes. Then on upstairs to the story of cocoa and a café to relax in and then back down through the shop with its chocolate and kitch gifts, out through the ice cream and back out. It's a great fun place to visit and while not the best chocolate in the world, it is so much fun it is hard to resist popping in since it is co close to Fassbender and Leyseffer.
google avatar

Melanie H.

Yelp
So fun. Great way to break up your visit of a very serious city. Chocolate is excellent - more flavors than you can imagine!! Great place to buy gifts too.
google avatar

Karen Y.

Yelp
Oh my... as an American newly introduced to the amazing chocolate bars of Ritter, I'm surprised I was able to keep myself from buying the entire store. There is an amazing variety of flavors to choose from, almost overwhelming at times. I probably spent around 20 minutes trying to decide on which flavors to get, but I realized afterwards that you really can't go wrong with any of them. My favorite is the white chocolate corn flake. Besides individual bars the store also sells souvenirs like variety packs and Ritter merchandise. Be sure to take a picture next to the giant stack of Ritters. Eat yourself into a chocolate coma. Regret nothing.
google avatar

Tyler L.

Yelp
When in Berlin, you can't miss the massive store of Ritter Sport. One of the largest chocolate companies in Germany, Ritter Sport makes some incredible flavors of chocolate. In this flagship store all are on display and of course available for purchase. There's also a coffee bar, pastries, and a brief area for exploring the history and process of the company. It feels a bit like the German version of Hershey Chocolate, minus the rides.
google avatar

Jeffrey Z.

Yelp
Pick a seat upstairs, flag a waitress down and get your order in. Near everyone in the room ordered iced chocolate drinks and so we followed suit. We tried the original and the white chocolate. The white chocolate was a bit sweet - actually it tasted exactly as I thought it would - but if you prefer a more balanced chocolate drink the original will probably suit you better. Both drinks were well made and tasted like an amazing liquid blend of chocolate and ice cream.
google avatar

Yelp
Rittersport is my favorite so this was a treat to be able to make my own rittersport bar. Upstairs is a cafe in which you can purchase slices of rittersport cake. Super delicious. If you're a fan of chocolate, you must visit this shop. It's not so much of museum and even thought the candy is cheaper to buy here verse in the super market, actually making the personalized rittersport bar is a bit expensive. Still worth it.

Yelp
I always wanted to go here after it opened and finally I had chance to visit last weekend. I didnt know that you could make your own chocolate there! You pay 3.50euro first, then you can choose 4 ingredients in your personal chocolate. You can also ask to try some of ingredients to taste. After thinking,,, I chose "cacao/banana crisp/musli/raisins" then you choose if you want milk or dark chocolate. I chose milk. I tried them yesterday... it is amazing! It is pretty cheap and I think it can be a great GIFT for someone and its really personal but if you are on budget, its great ;) Upstairs theres a cafe and I had praline hot chocolate there. Really nice but I thought that the drink could be warmer since it was little bit luke warm... Cakes looked amazing.. I highly recommend! Maybe avoid weekends and try weekdays!

Yelp
Such a fun store! It's the perfect place to pick up good priced souvenirs. They even have a make your own chocolate bar. Tip: I noticed they stopped taking orders on the build your own chocolate about 30 min before store closing. So if you're planning on doing this, show up with more time.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
So. Much. Chocolate. I kinda liked Ritter Sport before. Now I love it. It's one of my favourite chocolates - simply because I've never seen the range of types of bars at any chocolate shop before that wasn't a heck of a lot more expensive. They got me with the pick n mix - having tried a few types I'd never tried before, I ended up coming back and buying full sized bars. I rather liked the limited edition iced chocolate (my rather rough and terrible translation) plus the cornflake one. I did buy the quinoa chocolate for a friend who thought it was funny. Never tried it though. The shop itself is wonderful, with some excellent discount packs (which I would have bought if I thought it'd have fit in my luggage).
google avatar

Rod S.

Yelp
Here you can learn about the history of the Ritte Sports chocolate brand. The first floor has an outline of the chocolate making process from where the cacao is grown through, all the way to being wrapped in foil. There is also a short movie explaining where the concept of Ritte Sport came from (spoiler alert) which is the desire to allow people to fit chocolate in their pocket when going to the football. Also on the first floor, is a small cafe with lots of chocolate desserts and a token sandwich or two. But the main reason to go up the escalator is the shelves that carry bags of factory seconds (left overs from the factory) at a discount price to what's available on the ground floor. Back on the ground floor, they have a fun process that allows you to create your own flavour of Ritte chocolate by choosing the ingredients, the type of chocolate, and then they create the bar for you. Great fun for the kids.

Kifah A.

Yelp
It is cool, that you can craft your own chocolate bar....or your special Ice-cream Also you would find very exotic original Ritter-Sport flavors. Bring some patience with you, because the waiting lines can take some of your time.
google avatar

Loraine S.

Yelp
A place you should check out if you're totally crazy about Ritter's chocolade. Visited during the holiday season and I sure liked the decoration. Tbh: I like Ritter Sport but simply not that much to buy overpriced chocolade (gifts).
google avatar

Lindsay C.

Yelp
Chocolate heaven! The shop has every delicious flavour of Ritter chocolate imaginable, plus lots of different gift packs if you are looking to take home presents. I bought a large 2kg assorted bag for something like €14. I only had time to shop in the store but could see that there were other things worth checking out another time.

Yelp
Ritter Sport is definitely a staple place to go to if you like chocolate and you are a tourist. This is basically the equivalent to America's like hershey but much better. The chocolate was actually pretty cheap, you can get get a 2kg bag of assorted chocolate for 16€ (May 2016 -- prices may have increased since writing this review) which is pretty awesome! It's a good place for some cheap but good souvenir chocolate. Aside from just buying their chocolate, they also have a eatery upstairs if you're looking for some dessert, as well as a DIY chocolate station. I didn't try either because we were in a rush for time, but a ton of people seemed to enjoy making their own chocolate and it was relatively inexpensive.

Yelp
If you love Ritter Sport, this is a great place to snag some uber cheap bars, make your own (!) or grab a hot chocolate in the upstairs cafe. We started by grabbing a 2000 gram bag of assorted chocolates for only € 13, plus an inhuman quantity of our favorites. We stocked up and basically paid half the price if you're coming from Holland. With heavy bags, we did the walk through on the second floor about the history of cacao and ritter sport, and ended with a cuppa in the cafe. We didn't end up making our own, as the line was long, but might check that out next time :D

Yelp
Who wouldn't want to make their own Ritter Sport chocolate bar?! They sell every variety of Ritter Sport they make here, and at fantastic prices! They're about $1 USD per bar which is a steal compared to buying them in the U.S. Take home some obscure flavors to your friends to impress!
