Great location in Hayes, great vibe, you can get your coffee and walk around the neighborhood. But the coffee itself is nothing special for the hype. It was a bit overpriced. I got a Shakerato and it was just an iced latte with a marketing touch.

So I really like the vibe of ritual coffee on octavia street, it's very small and cute, but ritual coffee has many locations, but this one is my favorite out of all of them in the city.

Great place for coffee in near city hall. The staffs are very friendly and I enjoy the outdoor atmosphere. It is kind of small though.

Try and avoid the weekends and have no wait time to enjoy a San Francisco classic. Great coffee in a great little spot. They truly know what is a long black which is a nice surprise. They normally have tasters of the chocolate which pretty much entices you to buy a bar. You can walk across the way and enjoy the coffee on a nice patch of grass.

So here is the thing, people who work here choose to work here. They aren’t forced or maybe they are because it’s the only reason I can fathom why I just experienced awful customer service. Be personable ladies, welcome your guest and don’t act as if they are a nuisance for expecting you to do your job. They were focus on the live band outside and talking amongst each other than giving good customer service. For almost $10 for a cup of coffee, you all need to refresh your training on customer service.

Tiny, shed-size coffee shop at Patricia’s Green. Plenty of outdoor seating. The Brazilian single-origin they had on drip was acidic and a somewhat earthy with a dry aftertaste. Raspberry was the prominent flavor. It was served piping hot so be careful! The baristas were super friendly too. I wasn’t blown away by the coffee, but this shop is worth a shot if that’s the flavor profile you like.

Lovely spot and amazing staff, consistent coffee. Really enjoyed my iced American, totally hit the spot and a nice place to walk around this location. So many shops to check out.

Last week living in Hayes Valley and I had to pass by Ritual and pick up some beans before I move to the East Bay. Hands down, one of the best roasters in the Bay Area. I'm a sucker for drip (v60) and I always get Farami Catuaí - the plum brown sugar combination is fire. As for the service - it's ehhhh. I'd rather make my coffee at home. So come in music on bumping on the headphones and pick up whole bean. Customer service is dead. Other than that, the coffee beans are the best! Grab yourself a pound of FC!

Quite the interesting experience I had here this morning. An emotional rollercoaster you might call it. I started the experience excited that they now have soy milk. In my head, the stars had aligned just for me. This was going to be the start of what could possibly be the best day of my life. And what does that call for? A soy latte. Now I have this terrible habit of consuming iced coffee at the speed of light, so I decide to make a responsible decision for probably the first time in my life and order it hot. Or at least not specify 'iced'. So I order my soy latte and wait. The barista calls out a soy latte and I realize it's iced. It must not be mine so I wait longer. The iced soy latte is still there... staring at me like a gen Z host at the macaroni grill. We're exchanging glances back and forth and I finally accept that she is mine. Not exactly what I ordered but worse things have happened to better people. I throw a straw in and start drinking. You'll never guess what happened next. Barista calls out another soy latte and this time it comes with a name... my name. I'm caught in the act. Completely red handed. Like Mauri just told the entire studio audience that I in fact, am the father. My hot soy latte is livid. I weigh my options, I could leave my friend who still hasn't gotten her seasonal latte, but then she'd have to bear the shame herself. Today is the best day of my life so I decide to be honest. Honesty is the best policy, RIGHT? I tell them I'm so sorry and I thought maybe my latte was accidentally made iced and I was just gonna role with it. My hands are sweating, right eye twitching, I have truly never felt worse about anything in my entire life. The way these baristas looked at me you would have thought I urinated in their mother's chicken noodle soup. There was no line out the door, barely any other drinks to make and yet they acted like I was sending them to carry madame zeroni back up the mountain. The person whose drink I stole was lovely. He cracked a joke about not being expected to think before having our coffees in an attempt to break the tension. We both laughed uncomfortably about how much I have ruined the lives of these poor baristas by having them pull another espresso and pour it over their least favorite plant based milk. By this point it's been way more than 5 seconds and my latte is gone. He asks if I want to take the hot one I ordered... as if! I was NOT going to try these baristas again, who knows what sort of medieval torture device they would bring down on me. The pear of anguish? Judas cradle? Not me, not today. This was supposed to be the best day of my life. Still giving them 4 stars because I like my baristas like I like my coffee, bitter and likely to trigger my fight for flight response. Actually, I'm giving them 5 stars because quite frankly, I'm afraid of what they might do. If you see me in there in a blonde wig and full body prosthetics, you know why. Enter at your own risk.

Seasonal Peach Fuzz was a delightful surprise -- not at all sweet aside from the peach ring gummy candy nestled in the ice xD excited to try the other summer seasonal special! Pro tip: For your own sake, when waiting in line to order AND after you place your order: stand _OUTSIDE_ the shipping container* Second pro tip: Come for strong coffee, well made (to the standard aka not what you get in your mocha frappe whatever at evil corporate shops) simple drinks AND interesting, typically sweet seasonal specials NOT snapping instagram reels and/or being fawned over like you're someone special Ambience, service, and food same same as my previous review. *teeny tiny, poorly ventilated shoebox of a shipping container

Got a holiday gift card to Ritual so dropped by to get some coffee! Ordered a cappuccino for my hubby and a chai tea latte for myself. Love the chai, not too sweet with a hint of cinnamon. As a non coffee drinker, I was happy to see that they have tea, chai, hot chocolate and matcha here. Will be back to try their matcha another time!

Great coffee and tea place in the middle of Hayes Valley. First experienced Ritual in the Mission, but this one in Hayes Valley is my fave for many reasons. Their drinks are great and located right on Patricia's Green. Buzzing with activities and great place to people watch. While they are known for their coffee drinks, Ritual carry this fantastic brand, Song Tea. Each cup of tea is brewed to order and you can really taste each note. My absolute fave right now is the Snow Jasmine with notes of sweet nectar and Lily. It's a green tea that comes from the Sichuan region of China. It's both fragrant and light, smooth yet striking with great mouthfeel and a very pleasant aftertaste. Great to enjoy both hot or cold. Service pleasant and located on Octavia and Hayes.

Staying in a hotel in the area and walked over to Ritual this morning for some coffee. Love the area where it's located. Had a latte which was quite lovely though I would have preferred it to be a little hotter. Very tasty though. My husband enjoyed his brew. Cute place, nice service, good coffee.

Enjoyed a perfect latte, neither over or under extracted, which is unfortunately common in most coffee shops across the city. They are a small and cute booth with reasonably priced pastries and snacks. The location is prime, right in the middle of Patricia's Green. The baristas were quick and friendly.

Cute smol cafe located in the heart of Hayes Valley. The peach fuzz had a lot of potential but the ginger was too much.

The espresso from Ritual is strong, smooth, and some of the best in the city. This particular location is probably one of my favorite coffee shops because I love its unique origins as a shipping container and the artistic and quirky flair it adds to the neighborhood. Since it's a smaller shop, you may end up waiting a bit on weekends when it's busy. I tried their matcha once and thought it came out a bit grainy. But for all else I'm a fan!

If coffee and boba had a baby.... this is what it would taste like. In the best way possible hahaha. The Foggy Latte is Earl Grey tea and coffee, but it tasted surprisingly well together without being overly sweet. They definitely perfected this drink! It's a cute little kiosk-esque shop with a ton of outdoor seating and perfect for pet owners! Dogs and birds alike!! (Yes we did see a guy walking his bird LOL and loved every minute of it)

The soy latte, while pricey, was so smooth and delicious! A friend treated me to this, so it was wonderful, but I don't know that I'd be able to afford this very often. ‍ I guess it could be like other things, just a special treat once in a long while! Baristas were friendly and patient while we decided what we wanted.

The service here is just impossibly slow. Even when there is no one waiting. But when there is, you can wait 15 minutes for a latte. Why is this place slower than other coffee places for comparable coffee?

trekking around sf and stopping by ritual coffee roasters for a drink...located in a unique city parklet with exercise equipment and screen above...on the corner of octavia and hayes...just a bench inside and no tables...have to enjoy your drink and bites outside in the parklet...always looking for something different and taking the cherry bomb $6.75...selecting the $1 option for tip making it $7.75 total...like a cherry flavored cold brew soda...this is definitely an acquired taste...the first sip was just bizarre, but started getting use to the taste after the 3rd or 4th sip...definitely get a good caffeine hit...started liking it towards the end...

Ritual is on my weekend coffee rotation because it really never fails. I love this location in Hayes Valley. I enjoy the takeout only concept. It's an easy in and out and Patricia's Green is the perfect spot to people watch. The line can easily be out the shipping container but Sunday mornings are pretty quiet. The place is always clean and the staff is solid. From black iced coffee to their seasonal offerings, they hit the mark every time. The seasonal offerings tend to be on the sweeter side but not bad like dutch bro's vibes, if that makes sense. Their foggy latte is my seasonal favorite. The perfect play on a london fog. The hint of orange really elevates this special drank. Drinks range from $4 - $7ish. Average in the bay forsure, maybe even on the less expensive side.

Came in for a quick stop while waiting for some friends, they were decently quick, despite being busy, and not too expensive! I wish that had some seating w tables but the outdoor seating was very comfy!

Super smooth albeit pricey coffee here. I think I paid around $7 for a single shot cappuccino. There's no bathroom nor much seating inside, but the shop is next to a sunny park.

Cute shop in a nice area. Staff is great. Would not recommend coming here for any of their matcha drinks but their coffee is nice!

I love this coffee stand in Hayes Valley--it's trusty and reliable. Great consistent service, and you can enjoy your drink in Patricia's Green or while shopping in Hayes Valley. Loved my seasonal Spromoni with raspberry whipped cream this winter, but have enjoyed my lattes here in the past. Good, convenient location of course.

Small counter coffee shop with the famous ritual coffee, right in the center of an outdoor hub in Hayes Valley. A latte will set you back $7 and a bitesize cookie another $2.90, without tip, which it seems the staff expects. Overall easy convenient and tasty when you get over the sticker shock!

The coffee was decent and not too sour. The place is very small so it's not really a working coffee shop. It gets a bit too crowded too.

Ritual Coffee Roasters is in a prime location of Hayes Valley where there is a small park within vicinity along with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. I've heard of Ritual Coffee before, so I was excited to give it a try. V60 POUR OVER: HOMACHO WAENO ETHIOPIA - 6 This was a perfect option for "coffee #2" this past Friday morning. My friend and I sat outside where it was starting to be warmer with the clouds parting and sun rising. The pour over was good, but not amazing. I could definitely taste the citrusy flavors and it's definitely on the fruitier and brighter side. In general, I'd recommend giving them a try. The shop is in a good spot, so you won't miss it.

Got the Chinatown VIP, one of ritual's seasonal drinks. It has black tea, coffee, condensed milk, and topped with sesame cookies! Reminded me of this lovely popular Hong Kong cafe drink, Yuan Yang Nice cafe next to a nice open space in Hayes Valley, San Francisco

Love their iced latte, the coffee was an amazing flavor and love that they put it in a paper cup despite being iced. Would be 5 stars till I had their matcha latte which I was extremely disappointed by and service wasn't the best. Would come back but just for their espresso

Foggy London latte and their Jasmine green tea are both really delicious. I am not coffee experts but my guests were and loved their macchiatos

We waited for almost 30 minutes for a pour over when the shop wasn't crowded. The staff on Aug 24 forgot our drink, the shop got crowded and we didn't want to wait. I'm not very impressed with the service here.

I used to come here every day before making my own coffee. But I still occasionally come to Ritual. The location is great to find a seat at the park, people watch and enjoy your coffee. Money saving tip!: If you want drip coffee but don't want to always have to pay a premium price - order a "just a coffee to go" and it's just $3.75 or something around there. The small to go size is just a little under $3. This is the same coffee but just not made to order. It's the coffee that was made in the morning in the insulated samovar and it's delicious. Another tip is if you frequent the place, get a stamp card where you can earn a free drink. You have to ask for one tho, they don't just hand them out without you asking. Also, their seasonal special lattes and iced drinks are always delicious. You can't go wrong with that menu, if they have them. The staff is always super nice and I appreciate how most of the staff are unapologetically non-binary/queer. You'll always get a really quality cup of coffee or latte made perfectly. If you want a caffeine kick, Ritual has the goods. And believe it or not, Ritual is a bit more affordable than Blue Bottle down the block.

The quality of coffee and tea here is superb. I also love the service as everyone is very welcoming and helpful. It's a small pop-up-like space so don't expect a sit-down experience.

Smooth, fresh roast - great experience! I loved it! Friendly service - loved it! Rich bold coffee! I didn't even have a mix blend just French roast this time but I will be back. You coffee lovers are in the right place and you will know it just by the smell 32 feet away! Go here!

This place has good coffee. It's a good place to pick up coffee on the go. I decided to try their ice tea which was good.

Bitter coffee. Terrible service. I waited thirty minutes to get 2 drinks. Other people served before me.

Ritual Coffee is one of my all time favorite coffee shops. They also have delicious coffee beans. I live in SJ so whenever I'm in SF I try and get a cup of ritual. If you have had Chromatic coffee (SJ) or Four Barrel (SF), you'll enjoy a cup from Ritual.

The location of this stand is a good one, in Hayes Valley next to the park. After grabbing a drink to go, it's easy to find a bench, relax, and people watch before getting to the stores or your next meal. The downside is that since it's grab and go, you won't get the full coffee shop experience - the chance to linger and hang out at a table or get some work done. The service is decent and speed/turnaround for a beverage was reasonable. The line to order can get long. I ordered a Dandelion chocolate mocha. It was not sweet, which encouraged me to sip slowly and enjoy the flavors. Since the espresso that was used was a light blend, the coffee flavor seemed to get lost in the chocolate. Overall, it seemed more to me like a caffeinated unsweetened hot chocolate. Not what I had in mind, but good to know for next time. The price for a beverage is not bad, when balancing the location and quality of coffee without sit-down space. Ritual Coffee is pretty good in general. Next time I'll get a different drink.

Grabbed a cold brew from Ritual Coffee at around 2 pm. Service was great and the cold brew was excellent bold and smooth house blend. You cannot beat this location at Hayes and Octavia, which is next to excellent food and retail shops.

The coffee shop is located in a quaint area and offers excellent coffee. However, the barista's behavior is disappointingly rude and unprofessional. I was even subjected to laughter from her friends.

4.25 for a small cup of coffee is a new high for me (12 oz). Honduran. Traces of this and that that I cannot discern...well. It was a good cup of coffee, much better than their peers. I have had ritual elsewhere and it has always been a good cup of coffee. I am however not wild about their Soviet-like logo...

My absolute favorite coffee in the area! You can use their square site to make a mobile order in advance. My go to is their almond milk latte. Super friendly staff.

COVID review below: I definitely needed a caffeine boost during our afternoon trip to the city. This was a top rated coffee spot for the area and those high marks were well deserved. The covid regulations allowed only one customer in the store at a time which I appreciated. After placing my order of an iced latte with oat milk I stepped outside and waited just a couple minutes for my drink to be completed. The latte was smooth and delicious with a hint of chocolate. It definitely hit the spot. I'll definitely come back here next time I'm in the area. FYI - they do have online ordering available if you want to plan ahead.

Great flat white. Microfoam at right temp and a nice espresso that cuts through. Yes it's more than most but you get what you pay for.

I wanted to like this place , but the latte was just not there. It was a bit too watery and did not have any rich flavor - was a bit too watered down. Would probably not come back again.

Worst customer service. Not going to bore you with the details, simply put the female employee is extremely rude and hostile and disrespectful. I guess treating first time customers like this must be standard. Won't be coming back ever, and now will forever tell people how this place should be avoided and people should support another local coffee shop.

Perfectly made latte; the espresso could use a deeper flavor. The temperature of the milk, density of the foam and the way it cut the bitterness of the espresso was perfect. That said, compared to Sightglass or Bluestone Lane, the Ritual espresso has a subdued flavor. If it were bolder, the coffee would taste even better!

Way out of the way for us but we made a special trip to get some beans. Magic beans - destined to bring morning clarity and spiritual insight. Super friendly staff, great product, reasonable price point - worth the wait if there's a line. Difficult to get to by car, but if your otherwise moved it's a great little spot. Grab a cuppa and pet the doggos walking by.

A bit of a gem in Hayes valley, super cool container design. The local homegrown coffee maker is superb. Love that it's a see through window, merch and really friendly helpful baristas. Highly recommend. What a great place. Love the mission one too: this one is great for grabbing a drink to enjoy the small yet beautiful outdoors of hayes valley. May be even a walk to the painted ladies (uphill). Or a stroll down the street that are closed to busy traffic on weekends
