The Most Sublime Cups of Tea in Philly

"In addition to roasting their own coffee beans, Rival Bros also offers their own line of teas. Whether you’re in the mood for a robust breakfast blend, a cooling peppermint, or a spicy-sweet masala chai, they’ve got you covered." - Esra Erol, Ayannah Kamryn

An incredible little gym on Pass Young East. I’ve gotten a lot of work done here. People are good. The coffee is hot in the winter and cold in the summer. Rifle Brothers have opened up a lot of really cool locations in Philadelphia. I got a little yogurt thing in a glass with fruit at the bottom.

Great little coffee spot, really convenient to walk to. Came here with a friend and we had really great espresso and service from Jorge.

We had lattes and two sandwiches—everything was excellent. The pastries were also very good. Service was fast and friendly. Overall, a great experience!

The definition of a “gen z stare” experience. Consider yourself lucky if you’re not treated like a major inconvenience for wanting to order coffee at a coffee shop. It’s such a shame, because Rival was such a warm, welcoming spot when they first opened with an amazing staff. 2 stars because they carry mighty bread pastries that are delicious (just go to Mighty Bread instead if you can… it’s only a couple blocks away).

Baristas are consistently hilariously rude and unhelpful but the coffee is great! Pastry is mid (same 5 types carried by every other cafe in the city) and overpriced. Tons of seating though!

Staff was nice but unfortunately the matcha latte was REALLY bitter. I got it hot, unsweetened with oat milk, like I usually do at other places. I tried drinking it several times as it cooled but couldn't do it and ended up throwing it out. Hope it was an off day!

Flavorful coffees and delicious seasonal eats. I am praying they bring back the blueberry lemon ricotta toast next summer, I was devastated when it left the menu. The atmosphere is nice to hang around, usually bustling but not packed, very casual vibe.

Been here twice and its a cafe with a great vibe. We enjoyed some delicious croissants and lattes for here. The espresso is pretty bright if that's your jam.
