Lovely authentic Italian gelato place! Taste just like 🇮🇹 Italy! Staffs and owner are very lovely 😊 Go to get a nice scoop of you ever in soho! Lovely vibes 😋 my fav is the pistachio and nocciola 🤤

Google
The best gelato spot in the city! Really glad they opened here and there never seems to be any major line the multiple times I went. Pistachio and hazelnut flavors are so amazing as is everything here. Worth coming here whenever I can!

Google
Rivareno Gelato is one of my favorite gelato spots in NYC! Every flavor I tried was smooth, rich, and so flavorful. I especially loved the Cioccolato Extra Fondente, Contessa, and Gianduia, all super creamy and satisfying. The fruit sorbets like Passion Fruit, Limone, and Lampone were also fresh and refreshing without being too sweet. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Google
This place has some of the best ice cream in nyc. Store looks great and it’s super clean. Everyone likes the pistachio but the vanilla is my favorite. Great spot to get dessert after having dinner in the neighborhood too.

Manan Shah

Google
Giving a 4 star only because of the pricing. A bit on the pricier side but the icecream is thick and decadent as everyone else also mentioned. A great place to have italian gelato flavors. Will definitely come back to try some more flavors

Google
Hands down the best gelato in the city. We got the chocolate and stracciatella and pistachio and vanilla and all were sooooo creamy, rich, and so fresh. Every flavor looked amazing — you really can’t go wrong. It’s the kind of place you’ll think about long after you’ve left. i’ll be back so many times.

Google
The taste was so good, probably the best gelato that I tried in NYC Absolutely we will visit again!

Google
Very unique flavors!!! Quality is excellent. First time visiting this place, I need to come back and try other flavors, got shy asking to try more than 4 flavors haha. The staff team is pretty sweet and friendly. I had an awesome experience. I definitely recommend everyone to try it once.

Yelp
I've been waiting for an opportunity to try the gelato at Rivareno, and finally got my chance after a doctor's appointment in Soho. Rivareno prides themselves on using fresh, high-quality ingredients with no artificial flavors, and they make their gelato on site daily! I went shortly after they opened on a Monday and had the whole place to myself. Since nobody else was there, I was able to try a few flavors and settled on two of their specialty flavors - Cremino Rivareno and Cremino Dark. The gelato was truly creamy without a hint of ice. At almost $10 for the smallest cup size (up to 2 flavors), it's not inexpensive, but you can genuinely taste the difference in quality.

Yelp
Overall: C // 3 stars New gelato shop open in SoHo with an intriguing menu featuring unique flavors like Lychee and Banana Coffee. Unfortunately, I found their gelato to be quite light in flavor, and could benefit from using more fruit or fruit that is more in season, especially for the price tag hovering around $10. Yelp
I stopped by here earlier today with some coworkers for an after-lunch snack. We had actually walked by Rivareno Gelato the night before on our way to dinner and I thought it looked great. Even though we stopped at that time, I was sad that I was too full to eat more. So I was very happy whenever the opportunity presented itself today to stop by again. This shop is located on Spring Street in SoHo and has seating for about ten inside, along with a few sidewalk tables for outdoor seating. They had around twenty flavors of gelato available and also offered milkshakes, natural gremolata, and affogatos. However, the one flavor that had caught my eye was the passionfruit. So on this day I went with a small cup of it. It was quickly handed to me, and man was it good. The passionfruit flavor was sharp without being too sweet. It actually reminded me of a lot of the items I get in Hawaii where they let the passionfruit speak for itself instead of hiding it behind an overwhelming amount of sugar. I was really enjoying it and before I knew it the cup was gone and I was left wishing I had ordered a bigger size. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While it's certainly not cheap at $10 for a small, I really did enjoy the flavor.

Yelp
The gelato here is super cream. I enjoy the matcha one. But I realized that I do not like real gelato. Way too creamy for me. But for anyone else looking for a good gelato place. This is the place to go.

Yelp
Had a nice time getting some gelato. The metal tins are a must. The pistachio was my favorite.

Yelp
Two words - Liquid gold. Tried a bunch of gelato spots in the city and a few in Rome, but Rivareno, straight from Italy, is out of this world. After sampling a few flavors to get the best combo, I gave up and just made a choice. Everything sampled was just too good so I knew, I need to return again and again to really do myself full justice here. The staff was friendly and did great recommending flavors based on our taste preferences. What I ended up with was a combo of two flavors: - CREMINO DARK - all caps because this was hands-down, the best I have ever had. This had notes of pistachios, hazelnut and a base of dark chocolate. Silky and outrageously good! - Yogurt- tarty and refreshing to complement my hero flavor and it did great as a side kick!! 10/10 gelato

Yelp
At over $9 for a small, this gelato is on the pricier side. But at least it wasn't already melted. With this pre requisite satisfied, the pistachio gelato was on its way to being a memorable treat.

Yelp
We went later in the night so some of the flavors that we wanted to try were sold out. However, the service was great and we were able to try samples. Even for the small, they give a lot of gelato. The gelato shop is a bit smaller but there are a few tables and seating inside. I would come back to try other flavors.

Yelp
Italian gelato following late lunch of party of two was a very sweet ending for day's end for my birthday 2025 celebration. Customer service is very attentive and on point. I requested for two flavors in two respective small cups that was similar to vanilla and Nutella and got exactly as I wished. I wanted to thank my server for his recommendations, whom I think his name is William, but he quickly sprinted to the next customer queueing the line waiting to order. Seating is very limited and "first come, first served" basis with the added long line spewing outdoors during the hot and humid summer months. The server pack the cup overflowing more than one standard scoop where the ice cream is spilling as our respective cups were small, but it stack reasonable high. Napkins are available, but limited at the cashier counter. Please be kind to bus your own food waste upon vacating. Four stars, due to the lack of change for cashier operating starting till money. Initially I attempted to pay with a $20.00 bill, but a female worker stated "there is no change," ergo I resorted to pay in credit card method as change is not due. I did receive a printed bill with great acquiesce. For stars, for small amounts, I prefer to payment with cash. small cup × 2 ($9.10 each) = $18.20 Vaniglia bourbon This is close to the classic favorite, high quality Madagascar Bourbon vanilla. Gianduia "A perfect pairing of rich chocolate blended with intense roasted hazelnuts sourced from the elevated farmlands of the Langhe region in Piedmont. This signature flavor emulates the robustly sweet, nutty flavor of Italy's famous Gianduiotto chocolates." source: Riva Reno's website menu description. One word: delicious. I skipped the nuts, but the flavor is highly enticing to my interest. I love Nutella as it reminisce a previous visit to Paris, France.

Yelp
I'm so excited to try this gelato shop after seeing the posts on instagram. I know it's a legit Italian gelato because there's no display of mountains of gelato. All of them are in closed metal containers. Flavors are displayed on te wall. I sampled the pistachio and it's amazing. You can taste that it's from fresh pistachios, as if you are eating them. I wanted to try the Bacio, the girl who helped me gave me a look as if I had ten heads. I repeated my self again a couple of times in a slow motion but she still gave me a blank look. I almost walked out from the store disappointed from such treatment, but I already traveled from Philly to try it. Fortunately another staff told me that they are still making it. Definitely need more training on product knowledge and customer service. I picked coffee. As a coffee lover, I'm giving a thumbs up. Not a weak coffee flavor and enhanced with chocolate chips. The gelato s so silky and smooth when you scoop it. Love it. The store is clean and bright with some seatings.

Yelp
I was excited to try this beautiful and popular new gelato shop from Italy! It's a small cafe with a few tables inside and outside. The staff was friendly and offered samples. I tried a few flavors and the gelato is rich and creamy. The texture is just as I remember from Italy. I decided on the Cremina Dark and the Menta Stracciata. Delicious and I would love to come back to try more flavors on a cone.

Yelp
Riva Reno gelato is sublime. Creamy, flavorful - simply luscious! This was my first visit. Chani helped me sample several flavors till I chose two. The Cremino Rivareno with the Contessa. This was a mélange of Gianduja with white chocolate and an almond cream with amaretti cookies. A small cup of two flavors cost $9.10. I sat to eat it and oh my word....i had fallen in love! Each spoonful was sending me straight to gelato heaven. As I finished, I wanted to stand in line again to choose more flavors. The menu has many choices of gelato, specials and there is a section of sorbets. Both cups and cones are offered. Seating is inside and there is a round table outside with two chairs. I can envisage it getting very busy when the hot summer months arrive. I cannot wait to return for more superb gelato! Currently only cards are accepted.

Yelp
The hype is real! Their gelato is so creamy, flavorful, and delicious. I tried a few flavors and it was very difficult to just pick 2, I'll have to come back for the other flavors! The girls working here also were so nice and friendly, they clearly loved working here and loved their jobs. My friend and I were able to grab a table after a couple left. It's a smallish shop so you'll have to be patient with seating. Can't wait to return!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow this is some of the best gelato! The texture is dreamy and unlike any other I've had in the states or Italy. The service was exceptional and they produced the cone I had envisioned in my dreams. After sampling a few flavors and asking for recommendations, and I ended up getting a waffle cone (filled with the chocolate fountain!) and the pistachio and cremino rivareno flavors. It was absolutely amazing, highly recommend!
google avatar

Cammi P.

Yelp
While this gelato is all the way from Italy, the flavor was lacking and the gelato is expensive. The creaminess and texture was spot on and resembled every gelato in Italy. The presentation could have been neater and cleaner, but the overall experience was positive. Line moves quick and it is definitely worth a try.

Yelp
This is the 33rd location of Rivareno, an award-winning Bologna-based gelato shop, having just opened up in SoHo! Rivareno is known for their daily, freshly-made, small-batch gelato. You can have a scoop (or more) on top of a warm crepe or in a fluffy waffle! The flavor menu included the Classic Flavors (Fior di Panna, Vaniglia Bourbon, Nocciola, Pistacchio, Yogurt, Cioccolato, Stracciatella, and Caffe), New Flavors (Amarenata, Zabaione, Te Verde, and Cocco), Rivareno Specialties (Alice, Morena, Cremino Rivareno, Cremino Dark, San Luca, Caramello Salato, Contessa, and Gianduia), and the Fruit & Non-Dairy (Mango, Lampone, Sorbetto Pistacchio, Fragola, Limone, and Sorbetto Cioccolato), Ask for a sample, which the staff will gladly provide, for those who can be indecisive! We tried their Pistacchio and their Morena (the fior di panna with bitter cherries and syrup). Great selection of classic, specialties, and fruit flavors, and staff were friendly! The shop was bright and cheery, with a few seatings. +freshly-made gelato +friendly service

Yelp
I was so excited to see Rivareno open up and had this on my list of places to try. As I was walked by on a random hot day, I saw only 3 people in line - score! Welp, that was a sign for me to hop on the line. Sadly, as much as I was excited to try this place, I was a bit disappointed. $9 for a small cup of gelato?!Flavors were good but I was not blown away. Not sure if I'll be back for a second round but it's a cute dessert spot for a date or with a friend!
google avatar

Yelp
I don't get the hype. The consistency is really melty (even for gelato it's too melty), they were out of a lot of flavors, and it's way too expensive. I've never paid $22 for two small gelatos. They were generous with samples though.
google avatar

Harry X.

Yelp
I hate to admit it, but this is probably the best gelato I've had in NYC. Rivareno focuses on high-quality ingredients and letting their natural flavors shine through. They show restraint with the level of sweetness in their scoops and don't do crazy mix-ins (sorry if that's your thing), but from the first taste the quality is really apparent. I really loved their pistachio, dark chocolate, and yogurt flavors, but I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. The tradeoff (and reason for a docked star)? You'll pay an arm and a leg for it. My large (which was about the size of a small at Anita Gelato) came in at almost $14. It's worth it imo, but don't be surprised when you see the price at the register.

Yelp
my favorite gelato place from milano is here!!! line was surprisingly not long when we got there after dinner on a wednesday. i pray it stays hidden gianduja and pistachio are a must. my safe bet is yogurt
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent ingredients it tastes whipped how gelato is supposed to taste. The cremino is great. The storefront feels very modern New York chic I was hoping for the Italy mom and pop feel but I understand. The staff are very insightful on what flavors are good and offered history of the company. Im looking forward to trying the Miami location.
google avatar

Debbi P.

Yelp
The newest Italian gelato place in town. First one in New York. Regular and dairy free flavors. Not the rich flavors I was expecting and that they pride themselves on in their European locations. It was still good though. Tried several flavors. Very pricey!!
google avatar

Richelle G.

Yelp
Loved this gelato. Nice new addition to NYC. Only issue is that you can get 2-3 flavors for +-$13 (don't remember the exact price) according to sign behind the cashiers and I wasn't informed so I just got one. Would have rather had some variety since it is pretty expensive. But the quality is so good

Nat N.

Yelp
GODDAMN! Some of the best gelato I've ever had. The flavor was just incredible. I had the dark chocolate and the Contessa and...WOW. But, they had the employees using gloves, which meant that there was sticky gelato smeared on every customer's cup. By now, I think most of us know that gloves are less sanitary because people are less likely to wash their hands--right? Plus they make you less dexterous--I watched the people behind the counter try to serve gelato without getting it on their gloves, and they just couldn't because the gloves bunched up and got in the way. Now every customer is left with a sticky cup, for which the employee grabs a paper towel to put on the outside of it (but of course you're still going to get sticky gelato on your hands, not in the least because the employee has to grab the paper towel to put it on the outside of your cup). For the customers and the environment, please ditch the gloves!

Julia L.

Yelp
Hands down best gelato in NYC. Real ingredients, doesn't make you feel sick after, amazing flavors. Could go on and on. LOVED it

Roberta C.

Yelp
Gelato is fantastic, I love all flavors. If I have to do a little critique the workers need to learn how to make cones, they are completely not trained and this makes unfortunately the overall experience less enjoyable. As an Italian I can say that if I was the owner I would invest in training the staff .
google avatar

Randall M.

Yelp
I stopped into Rivareno on a very warm day and ordered a cup of Lemon sorbet. I was shocked when the store associate told me that a small cup cost $9.91. I grabbed a seat and was equally amazed when the cue went out the door. My Sorbet was good, but not nearly as good as what I accustomed to. Than U next!

Annie Y.

Yelp
The best quality of gelato you will find in NYC. It is really fresh. You can taste how much better the ingredients are than Anita Gelato, Gelato Gentile, etc. The staff is also very kind

D M.

Yelp
I got a cone with stracciatella, but it was nothing like the stracciatella flavor that so many other places make right. There was hardly any chocolate in it. Taste was ok.

Michael D.

Yelp
Absolutely the most amazing gelato. Made fresh daily. 10/10. Best I've ever had in all of my travels.

Colton M.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. I'm Not a huge ice cream or gelato person but really this blew me away.
