River City Cafe

This place used to be really good. Maybe they just had an off day. Service was decent. I mean drinks were filled and food was fast but I felt almost rushed despite the restaurant not being full, I know that doesn’t necessarily mean that they weren’t busy. I ordered the pickle burger and I received it with no pickles but it did have the pickle chips. I’d already ate a quarter of it before realizing it so I wasn’t going to complain because it was still decent, the burger itself seemed to lack seasoning or something I can’t quite put my finger on. Chili cheese fries were kind of soggy but tasted decent. The souvenir cups are pretty cool and I usually visit this place every time I come to MB but will probably skip this place the next time I visit.

The Philly Cheese Steak I ordered from here taste better than the one I had in Philadelphia a few months ago! I am very impressed. It was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place to anyone that's looking for fast friendly service with great Tasting Food.

1st time here. Some plus', the hamburger bun was normal and steamed well. I hate it when a restaurant tries to church up a burger with a thick bun. Onion rings were out of sight good. The service was good and the atmosphere was pleasing. My wife had a hot dog and I'm glad I didn't get one. I live where the best hot dogs on the planet are made. This one was split, fried and just wasn't what I class as a hot dog. She liked it and said the dog was good. My burger was cooked very good and was not overcooked. No real negatives. I'd like a more Southern Hot Dog. Albemarle NC has the best IMOP and they are what all are judged by. Whispering pines cooks them how I love them. Photo attached of the Pines Dog. The best burgers on the beach. This location is bigger and newer than the original (that opened on 21st Avenue North in 1985) but it’s the same great food but on Ocean Blvd. Make sure you park across the street where it’s free snd stay away from the parking meters (which expire quickly). The original burger with everything is the best. Enjoy the free peanuts and take hone the cool plastic cups.

Food was amazing 👏. The onion rings are a must. They were the best onion rings I ever had. Our server Jay, was just the best. This is now going to be our go to spot for vacation!

First they brought me a chicken Philly instead of steak. So after watching my family eat for 10-15 mins they brought my sub that was soaked in grease. I’m all about a greasy steak and cheese but this was to the point there was no bun left. Every bite sent grease flying everywhere. The blooming onion was burnt so bad half of it was un edible unless you wanted to crack your teeth. A pic of the rest of it is posted. I’ve never been here so I didn’t know what to expect but i expected better than that. $8 for 2 cokes and the total bill was $63 for a meal that had 80% of it messed up. My fries were fine and my wifes were burnt. He did give us the money back for the bloomin onion but overall it was horrible

I always visit one of these locations when I come down. Hands down one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had.

I got the shrimp cake sandwich with onion rings. It was amazing! I loved the decor on the inside and our server was great!

Went to the River City Cafe by the Dunes the other day - there's _seven_ locations, so they're doing something right :) I thought RCC had pretty good food (a burger), a suitable beach-divey vibe and location, location, location... I think if you're in the Myrtle Beach area, it'd almost be hard not to have eaten here once or twice before. The burger was alright and the service was quick. I was a bit surprised by the size of the cocktails though, not a 'great' value in that department.

Really fun place. Small dining room and bar area inside and seating outside with a bar. We had the pork bbq sandwich and jalapeño jam burger. Soooo good! The burger was spicy and sweet. The bbq sandwich had a mild smoked taste. We sat at the bar inside. Bartender was great. Food came out quick and hot. They have some epic burgers on the menu.

My wife and I stopped in to grab a bite before going to meet some friends. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and she had the hot wings. We split an order of bacon cheese fries. The burger was awesome and so was the fries. My wife said that was some of the best wings that she had in quite a while. Our server was always nearby to take a refill order or whatever we needed. The restaurant was decorated as a usual River City Cafe with lots of license plates and the usual graffiti. You had to cross a courtyard to go to the restroom, though. Not a fan. All in all, well worth stopping in and grabbing a bite.

This place is amazing. We were seated instantly, the food was amazing and the waitress jan was very nice, the food came out just a few minutes after we sat down, the food tasted great and filled me up, the tea was great, and the food was appropriately temperatured, the inside was cool and I admire the license plates and signatures on the wall, overall this place was great and I definitely plan on returning.

We had 8 people and ate 8 different burgers and fries ! All the food was excellent and reasonable at $10-12 range ! Total bill for eight $93 ! Ambiance is great but Nickie was the server and hostess at 73rd and is the best !

AMAZING food! We ordered cheese pops as an appetizer, it's deep fried cheese curds served with marinara. Delicious! I ate the grouper fingers. Probably the best fried fish almost ever. Fresh and light, not greasy at all and served with fries, cole slaw (with raisins) and cocktail/tartar sauce. The place itself is decorated in bad graffiti, license plates from all over and the bathrooms (outside) are gross. Our waitress Samantha, was very sweet.

Our waitress Abby was wonderful! Abby was polite, kind and courtesy! Abby was very attentive and catered to us very well! Thank you Abby ! I made a huge mistake and did not check out the bathrooms prior to ordering food. I was disappointed at first that the beer I ordered was in a can, but after checking out the bathrooms I was happy it did not come out of their beer tap system. I am 100% sure the beer tap system would be infested with mold and quite grungy ! One & done! We will never ever ever ever return to any of their locations! This is establishment is a total disgrace and disgusting and needs to be shut down ASAP!!!!!

Had a burger and onion rings with coleslaw. Very good. I had a few PBR's nice and cold. the two onion rings are huge and tasty. Service was great a very pleasant young lady took care of us and was very attentive. my date had the Ceaser salad which was so so. I like this burger place it what a burger joint should be.

Great burgers with so many options it's hard to choose which one to try but I'm pretty sure they're all fantastic. I had the mushroom swiss and hubs had the Texas something. Both were fantastic... ok so his might have been slightly better but I wasn't disappointed. Get. The. Onion. Rings. seriously each one is huge, perfectly fried and the sauce is heavenly. The table next to us had fried mushrooms that I was slightly jealous of too so if we ever make it back they are on my list. We really enjoyed our meal on our 1st evening of our week in MB.

This restaurant is located near the ocean in a populated area on the strip. We came during lunch hours and were able to be seated at a table right away. The restaurant is uniquely decorated with multiple license plate tags on the walls. The restaurant offers peanuts to snack on while you wait on your food. Our server, Samantha P. was friendly & attentive. I ended up ordering the shoestring burger with fries. The combo also came with coleslaw. The side of coleslaw was prepared with raisins. This was the first time that I have seen this combination. The burger and fries tasted good and were served warm. The burger was topped with onion straw and the house sauce and I opted for lettuce and tomatoes on my burger as well. If I am in the area again I would come back.

Went for dinner and got seated right away, we chose to sit outdoors. The kids were entertained with a view of the pool next door. Drinks were good, food was yummy! We got two kids meals, the nacho crunch burger, and the jalapeño bacon jam burger! They were so good! We also got the spicy fried pickles, and the portion was huge! Food came out fast and prices were reasonable! Worth a visit!

My husband and I ordered to go and everything was amazing!! I got a Ham and Cheese Sandwich which was pretty cheap and it tasted great! The house salad was 10/10. My husband got the mahi sandwich and onion rings he loved all of it! They gave us the sauces we asked for, and included everything we needed! Service was amazing when we picked it up! Definitely recommend this place!!!

Food is goooooooood. Plain cheeseburger had a party in my mouth. They serve barefoot wine, so you know it's good. Darius, our server was awesome. He was by himself, and he was hustling. He advised us of his table load "I have a couple of orders, and I will get right to you" Thank you for this! I wish more people did this. He checked in with all of his guests. Careful, someone is going to poach him because they see his value! All in all, dining is an experience with multiple factors coming into play. He carried the experience.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and liked our food. Great spot to get a burger or fried sandwich. They have a lot of burger options. Everything was made to order and was served quickly. The onion rings were delicious, although greasy. There were a lot of broken peanut shells on the floor where we sat and the place had an interesting smell.

I don't know how this place stays open. Worst river city cafe there is! This place gives the rest of them a bad rap! I hope river city will do a few "secret customer operations" to see what your local customers see.. I dont even want to step foot in a river city again after this visit.

I'm just going to start off with WOW, we come here every year during the week of thanksgiving, I have never been more embarrassed in my life. If I could leave negative stars I would. Service was awful, the older lady who was serving us not giving any names, but it was pour. We ordered extra ranch, we had a big family and we had to go food she tried to take our ranch she already gave us because she didn't want it thrown away, after me already using it. Food was good as always but just the service is awful. The most embarrassing part for me is when I went to pay for my family, she kept swiping my card, and just like any normal person I'm going to tell her to quit swiping it. I told her we can pay upfront to make it easier her tablet wasn't working. I pay my bill walk out. I parked across the street in the gravel parking lot, only for her to come out the door yelling at the top of her lungs, "YOUR CARD DECLINED, IT DIDN'T GO THROUGH" before I walked out the screen said approved and I signed for it and proceeded on with my night when she yelled that across the street people walking in, my family with me I felt so embarrassed she grabbed her manager and I spoke with him and shown that it was deducted out of my account already and I don't see what she's seeing, come to find out she had it pulled up on the screen and her tablet. I love the food here but needless to say, I have no intentions to eat here or another river city again. Never felt so embarrassed in my life

Fast food at its best. Tasty bites for sure. Started with drinks and onion rings a lot of onion rings drinks nice and cold. I had the Philly steak my date had the salad. Sandwich was hot and filling very tasty, the salad was good. Great atmosphere on the beach great service, This place doesn't disappoint l

Whether you're a local like me or a tourist here in the Dirty, River City Cafe should serve you well. Burgers and fries are solid and prices are quite reasonable, particularly right down at the beach. For $2.79 more you can add fries and cole slaw to any burger...call it a platter. I really liked the fries and they give you plenty. Both my burger and fries were served hot! Free refills on draft sodas and they have a bar as well so you can get a cocktail...house designed specialty cocktails are 16 oz. and are 6 bucks. Pretty sure they do bottle beer only. Decor is laid back with TVs around in the corners, lots of old license plates, and stuffed dead animals attached to the walls. 80s tunes played while we ate. I got the Continental burger. I asked for medium but really didn't see any pink inside...but that's typical when I order a burger. I still liked it...that, and the fact that outside, yes, outside, seating was closed off during covid times cost them the 1 star.

Would give a 3.8 star. The variety was good. Cant believe all of the combinations we thought of. Neat atmopshere. My one complaint was the floors. It is kind of a texas roadhouse styles. They gove peanuts while you eat, but many get thrown on the flood. Which I dont mind, but the floors are not swept between people guests. Like at all. The kitchen area was clean I believe, food prepeeation was hygenic. Just the floors.

We ordered a burger and wings. Both were very good. Fun atmosphere for the family. Will be going back when in Myrtle Beach.

This place doesn't look like much when walking past but surprisingly, it is a larger establishment than what appears. We ventured down to RCC due to the close proximity to our resort. There is meter parking or you can park across the street in the gravel parking lot. They do offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Due to the restrictions, if you are a party of more than 5/6, they will separate you into different tables. They do offer a variety of burgers and they all seemed appetizing. Not many healthy choices or accommodations for those with food allergies (DF,GF). My husband and I split a burger and for $2 more you can add fries and coleslaw. Overall we enjoyed it and would recommend for a quick bite to eat, non picky eaters, etc. I wouldnt recommend if you are looking for a really great burger, place to bring out of town guests to.

Great food. We had the jalapeño bacon jam burger, the Texas bbq burger, and the Philly cheesesteak. All were excellent! Their ranch is excellent.

Great Sandwiches - a Spring Break kind of place. Good service. Several signs inside and out encourage you to not write on the walls - that advice is generally ignored.

Upon arriving here at Myrtle Beach, this is the first restaurant that we chose to visit. I was disappointed by the customer service from our waitress. She spoke really fast and tried to rush us to order. We tried to overlook this as it may have just been the way that she talks. After ordering our food, I felt something on my arm only to notice a medium sized spider climbing on my arm. I immediately freaked out and we moved from the booth to an open table. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich with chili fries, my sister ordered the chef salad and my mom ordered the grilled Ham & cheese sandwich. We were not impressed with our food as it was just "okay". Needless to say i would not recommend this restaurant and will not be back.

Meh at best. Except for the onion rings...I would go back for the onion rings (they are huge and crunchy and flavorful) and a beer, but that's about it. The margarita tasted too sweet and could barely tell that there was tequila. All of the burger options looked so fun! Ordered the fried Mac-n-cheese burger, which is a great idea in theory but the fried block of Kraft macaroni and cheese atop the burger was just awful. Sweet potato fries looked like someone squished a handful of fries together before tossing in the fryer, they were all stuck together in a wad. Kids said that their plain burgers were okay. With such a unique colorful building, they could really make a great restaurant, but that time is not now.

I hate to give this review considering they were obviously short staffed as most places were... but I didn't have an overall great experience here. Our waitress was attentive which was very nice. Our drinks were poured very lightly in my opinion, considering it just tasted very sugary. Could hardly taste the alcohol in it. We started with the fried mushrooms, which we both thought were very good. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger, but I can not say the same for myself considering the bacon on it was basically inedible. I hate to compare it to leather, but that was the consistency... I loved my waffle fries & the Slaw was good besides picking around the raisins in it.

I truly love this place and recommend it to everyone. Everything about it is wonderful - the people, the atmosphere, the food and drinks. I've been here many times over the last couple of weeks, and have no complaints at all. Every meal I've ordered has been perfectly prepped and is as delicious as can be (if you're a fan of onions rings, you HAVE to try the ones here). The drinks are strong. The management and service are impeccable. If you're looking for excellent service and great food at a reasonable place, come to River City.

Food was great!! And I loved the vibe of the place it felt like I was at home. Service was good as well until our server decided to show the lack of good customer service when we were leaving so my friend Fiance forgot to leave a tip so we were trying to fix it and instead of him being patient he goes and says if you can't afford to tip, do not come out to eat! When in fact, my friend could probably afford to buy the whole restaurant if he wanted to. How about don't be rude. Won't be coming back to this restaurant or any of them after reading reviews this seems to happen often!!

Monday night me and my husband order the continental burger with fries and cole slaw.the food was very good.the waitress was very nice.the music is to loud u can't enjoy your food and our ears were ringing and it gave us a headache.the loud music causes people to scream.I have a in-law that has a peanut allergy and noticed the peanuts r right at the door as u come in.

This restaurant was very close to the resort we stayed at. What a find with a menu featuring all kinds of burgers in every category that you can think of. Peanut butter banana burgers, nacho crunch burgers, fried Mac and cheese burgers, Cheetos burgers, just a few examples . Burgers from beef ,turkey , chicken and veges. Sides of huge onion rings, waffle sweet potato fries, cheese fries, delish coleslaw to name a few. Soups, salads, chicken fingers, fried fish, melts sandwiches, alcoholic cocktails, plus a kids menu adorn the colorful menu. The service was friendly, the restaurant quite colorful with shelled peanuts on the floor, myriad of license plates hung on the walls. Prices moderate, good portions, food plated nicely .Our turkey burgers were delicious, as were the fries and onion rings. One dining mate ordered the 10 jumbo wings, also delicious. Definitely would return again

Food was great however when it comes to customer service it wasn't great at all the server was nice up until my friend forgot to leave a tip on the receipt before we could even fix it the server said to them if you Can't afford to tip don't come out at all which was very rude and disrespectful and little do they know he could buy the whole restaurant. We will not be returning. And are very upset about the service we received. Being someone who works in the serving industry I know what it's like to not get tips however his actions and words were out of place and absolutely disrespectful. You never know what someone's going through let alone we were trying to fix what happened and still left a tip. Very disappointed

Very friendly, peanuts all over the floor! They have beer and wine and a nice menu . Burgers, clam chowder , chili cheese fries,every table gets their own roll of paper towels.Food was very tasty. No wet swim suits allowed. We had Ethan as our server and speak about southern hospitality, he's got it! Such great manners for a young man these days They have an outside bar which is a full bar with televisions and huge bathrooms.

Small and cozy. Food was really good. They were short staffed but still got our food in a reasonable time. Will be returning when I go back to the beach.

Recommended by a local. Food was ok. Service was slow. Decent burgers. The ceiling also leaks by the vents so avoid sitting by them if you can.

The bar was so cool , the burgers were to die for and the service was great . The burgers were so delicious that we ate there Thursday our last day . Love the atmosphere and the food .

Onion rings are always a must, although, not as gigantic as they used to be. I had the Three Alarm FireBurger and it was flavorful and spicy. Not too hot for me, but I like . Hubby had the Cajun-Spiced Grilled Chicken Burger. He gave that a Make sure you have quarters to feed the parking meter. Bring a sharpie to sign the wall.

So disappointed for the first time going there since moving here 9 years ago . Ouestion WHERES THE BEEF !!!!! I could have a McDonald's burger the same size and a third of the price . Three adults and we could have put all our burgers together to have the size they have always been . How do really raise prices ! And cut back on food size at the same time ? The onion rings were still large and delicious What saved the meal was our server !!! He was attentive and friendly and really just a pleasure Don't go expecting the same juicy burger you are used to getting the thinness makes it so not juicy

I waited 30 mins to order was sitting at the table many customers that got here after us received food I won't be coming back here and if I could it will be a 0 star

Great burger and turkey burger! The fried zucchini weren't strips they were actually wedges and insanely delish! Cutely decorated with license plates make it a fun atmosphere. Good spot for families!

Here for vacation and it's right beside our hotel so we went for dinner. I got a burger well done and they still managed to make it real juicy. It's a laid back place peanuts you can eat right when you sit down. Cheap place friendly staff

Food was excellent, the service was terrible! We went here as a group of 10 with a few young kids. We opted to sit outside because of it. We got there just before 5pm and left close to7:30pm. It was 20 minutes before the waitress took our drink order, another 20 minutes before the drinks came out and another hour before the food came out. This would have been understandable had they been busy, but there may have been 25 other customers in the restaurant at the time and several workers standing around doing very little. The food was excellent but the experience was not.

Food fine but $2.89 for an iced tea seems ridiculous. What does it cost? A few pennies?

Always a place that we go to while visiting Myrtle Beach, and happy that we did again this year! The employees all seemed to follow the Covid guidelines very strictly. The onion blossom that we got was outstanding as always, and the burgers and fries were excellent - Highly recommend the BBQ burger. Overall, another outstanding experience, and we look forward to going back in the near future!

Good experience, it has been many years since I have been to a RCC and was looking forward to it and was not let down. While waiting on our table we chatted with Adam at the bar and had a good time. Adam spoke highly of the menu and pointed us in the direction of where we ultimately ended up ordering. I did miss throwing some peanuts around a bit but in summary it was nothing but positive.

On vacation and really wanted a god burger so Yelp sent us here. It was great because we could walk from our hotel. I had the bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and pepper jack cheese. It was good. Burgers are big! It was more than I could finish. My husband had the traditional burger and said his was a bit dry. We shared a blooming onion that was great! Overall definitely a solid 4 star choice.
